Transcend TRT Alternatives: Where to Go Instead (and How to Switch Safely)

Transcend TRT alternatives include Male Excel for a provider-access membership, Hone Health for clearly published repeat-testing steps, and Wittmer or TRT Nation for lower advertised base costs. Wittmer's standard first-year scenario is $1,712.64. None guarantees a seamless transfer; fertility plans, insurance, your state and the exact prescription can change the right choice.1234

Editorial comparison built from public sources, provider pages and official notices — not a hands-on review or a clinician-reviewed article.

That changes if you want FDA-approved testosterone or insurance (start with an appropriate clinician and, for coverage, your insurer), want children now or later (discuss that with a reproductive urologist or fertility-aware clinician), or live in a state an option doesn't serve.56

And if you already paid Transcend for care you never got, the assignee's patient notice lists a refund-claim deadline of December 28, 2026. Its footer has a conflicting year; confirm the deadline with the assignee without delaying your claim. We'll walk you through it first.7

The comparison at a glance

Transcend TRT alternatives table 1: The comparison at a glance
Option First-year cost evidence Best fit to investigate Biggest catch
Male Excel $2,727 base scenario, before shipping, any tax and other required extras A separate membership for clinician access Includes a testosterone-plus-thyroid package, not a testosterone-only quote; 11 states excluded
Hone Health (Plus) $1,710–$1,745 in testing and membership fees, before medicine A published confirmatory-testing process Plus excludes 15 states and DC; the at-lab confirmation fee differs between pages
Wittmer $1,712.64 for its stated standard plan One stated price covering standard TRT, labs and visits Claims all 50 states; extra medicines are separate and the exact product still needs confirmation
TRT Nation $1,586.88 annualized example; about $1,637 for five prepaid packages plus three lab panels Comparing a lower advertised base price Purchases cover 2.5 marketed months; California pricing and extra tests can change the bill
Taurus Meds $1,837 promotional calculation; complete total unresolved Investigating the $149 offer after getting the terms in writing General terms list a separate billing-period fee; refund promises conflict
Your own doctor Depends on visits, testing, prescription and insurance FDA-approved products, insurance Appointments, formulary rules and possible prior authorization
Transcend Can't be calculated from the checked public pages An existing clinical relationship, only after confirming continuity $398 store starter conflicts with $448 for consult plus labs on its intake form; ongoing prescription price not established

These are provider-stated prices and our calculations, not tested patient bills. A base scenario uses starting prices; an annualized figure spreads a price across twelve months. Neither is necessarily the amount you pay in actual orders. Full assumptions and source links appear in the comparison and cost sections below. There is no reliable all-in price ranking when medication, shipping, extra tests or payment timing remain unknown.

This page is for you if: you were about to buy Transcend's $398 starter, or you're a current Transcend patient planning a switch.

Transcend status, October 14, 2026: The assignee's notice reports a May 21, 2026 assignment for the benefit of creditors. The posted sale notice covers brand assets, excludes patient data and sets an October 9 bid deadline; it does not establish a completed sale or identify a buyer. The patient notice lists December 28, 2026 for claims seeking refunds from the assignee. See the dated log ↓78

What we actually verified — October 14, 2026: We checked public provider pricing, testing, state and policy pages; Transcend's provider letter; the assignee's notice; the sale notice; and primary medical and government sources. We recalculated the tables. Service delivery, individual clinician and pharmacy licenses, response times and checkout-specific charges were not independently tested. Important unresolved items are named beside the affected comparison—not treated as confirmed benefits.

Is Transcend Company going out of business?

The assignee's notice says Transcend Company made an assignment for the benefit of creditors on May 21, 2026. That's a state-law process where a company hands its assets to an "assignee," who liquidates them and distributes available proceeds to creditors. Its brand assets were offered for sale with bids due October 9, 2026; the checked notice does not establish the sale outcome.78

That's not the same as saying every Transcend clinician has stopped working. The assignee describes liquidating company assets; separate medical practices handle clinical care. Here's what the record shows, date by date.711

Transcend TRT alternatives table 2: Is Transcend Company going out of business?
Date What happened Source
Dec 4, 2025 RSV Medical, PLLC (Dr. Richard Veyna) moves to a new administrative provider. Patients are told they can stay with Dr. Veyna, move to a Transcend-affiliated group (1977 MESK PLLC or euVita Medical Group PLLC), or leave. Transcend's "Important Notice" letter; historical options, not a current appointment guarantee.11
May 21, 2026 Transcend Company, Inc. makes a general assignment for the benefit of creditors to TCI (ABC), LLC under Michigan law, according to the notice. Assignee's patient notice.7
Sep 21, 2026 Public notice of the assignee's proposed sale of Transcend's brand assets. Sale-agent notice posted on DailyDAC.8
Oct 9, 2026 Bid deadline for Transcend's trademarks, social accounts and domain names. All data, including protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII), is excluded. Posted sale notice.8
Oct 14, 2026 The linked Silhouette asset-listing address redirects to its homepage. The posted sale notice does not identify a buyer. Transcend's starter page remains accessible with $199/$398 variant prices and an add-to-cart control. Sale link and starter page; no purchase or fulfillment test.812
Dec 28, 2026 The notice's stated deadline for patient claims seeking refunds from the assignee for undelivered purchases. The same notice has a September 25, 2025 footer that conflicts with its reported 2026 events. Confirm with the assignee without delaying filing.7

Three things in that record matter most for you.

First, the assignee didn't take on Transcend's debts. The notice says TCI (ABC), LLC took title to the assets but did not assume the company's liabilities. It directs eligible patients to a proof-of-claim process for refunds from the assignee. That notice does not resolve every other possible payment dispute or legal remedy.7

Second, your records aren't part of the advertised brand-asset sale. The sale notice excludes patient data. Transcend's provider letter identifies medical-practice record custodians and also says Transcend retains information for legal and regulatory duties. More on getting your records below.811

Third, a working-looking website is not proof that care will be delivered. On October 14, Transcend's starter page still showed an add-to-cart control. The December 2025 "Important Notice" explains a clinical-provider change, not the later creditor process. We did not place an order or test fulfillment.1211

We'd hold off on paying Transcend anything new until it's clear who will deliver the service.

One quick mix-up to avoid: Transcend Company is not Transcend Therapeutics, the drug developer named in Otsuka's acquisition announcement. Different business entirely.13

I'm a Transcend patient. What should I do this week?

Do four things: request your records from the practice that treated you, check your remaining prescribed supply with your pharmacy, arrange a receiving clinician, and review the assignee's refund-claim process if you paid for care you never got. A receiving clinician must assess the transfer; the same prescription and uninterrupted care are not guaranteed. Don't stop or change your dose on your own.117

If you've texted and emailed with no answer, you're not alone. In a January 2026 Reddit thread, several users who said they were patients described exactly that. Those are individual, unverified experiences—not proof that every patient lost care. It's stressful when your treatment depends on someone answering. So let's make this simple.14

Step 1: Ask for your records — from the right place

Transcend says in its own footer that it is a management company. It says it does not employ clinicians or provide medical care. Your care came from a medical practice. That practice is who you ask.1115

Transcend TRT alternatives table 3: Step 1: Ask for your records — from the right place
If your clinician was… Records holder (per Transcend's Dec 2025 letter) Contact listed in the letter
Dr. Richard Veyna / RSV Medical RSV Medical, PLLC (833) 548-5664 · drveyna@RSVmedical.com
Dr. Sunil Kurup / 1977 MESK PLLC, or Dr. Kenneth Rice / euVita Medical Group PLLC That medical group for records it created (248) 520-5407 · join@transcendcompany.com
Not sure Check your visit notes, prescription label or portal for the practice name Start with both contacts above

These contacts come from the December 2025 letter; we did not call or email them during this check. Use your latest visit notes or prescription label to confirm the current practice. RSV Medical remains the named custodian for its original records; a new medical group holds the records it creates.11

Ask for your lab reports, visit notes, and current prescription. That means drug name, strength, dose and pharmacy. Under HIPAA, you generally have a right to a copy of records held by a covered health care provider. The provider must generally act within 30 calendar days; one additional 30-day extension requires a written reason and completion date. Reasonable, cost-based copy fees may apply, so ask about the fee and electronic format.16

Ask in writing and keep a copy.

Copy-ready request:

I'm requesting a copy of my complete medical record, including all lab results, visit notes and current prescriptions, under my HIPAA right of access. Please tell me how to verify my identity securely, receive an electronic copy and transfer it to my next clinician. Please tell me about any permitted copy fee before preparing the copy. Thank you.

Step 2: Count your supply

Write down your last fill date and ask the dispensing pharmacy to confirm your remaining supply and refill status. Share that information with the receiving clinician now rather than waiting for the last few days.

Your care-transfer checklist

Keep these items together for the next clinical visit: the name of your treating practice; lab reports with dates; visit notes; current prescription labels; the dispensing pharmacy; the last fill date and confirmed supply; and receipts for any undelivered purchase. Use the practice's secure records process rather than posting health details in a public review or sending them to a sales form. The checklist helps organize the transfer; it does not replace a clinician's review.

Step 3: Line up a new prescriber before you run out

The receiving clinician needs enough information to evaluate your care and may request fresh labs or review yours. A new clinician may or may not continue the same prescription. That's a medical decision they make after reviewing you. Ask for the earliest clinical review, required tests, who handles urgent clinical questions and what happens if the transfer is delayed. Provider shipping estimates start at different points and are not a guarantee of gap-free care.1718

Step 4: File a refund claim if you're owed one

The assignee's notice says patients who paid for products or services that were not delivered, and haven't been refunded, must submit a proof of claim with supporting documents by Monday, December 28, 2026 to seek a refund from the assignee. It says late claims are barred from refunds from the assignee—not that every possible legal or card-dispute right disappears.7

Gather receipts, card statements and order confirmations first. A claim is a request, not a guarantee. The assignee says distributions depend on available proceeds after expenses and applicable priorities. Ask an attorney about your rights and a card issuer about any separate dispute deadline.7

The notice is dated September 25, 2025, but describes events from May 2026. We cannot resolve that inconsistency. Ask the assignee to confirm the applicable deadline and keep proof of submission; do not wait for the printed deadline to begin.7

What are the best Transcend TRT alternatives?

Male Excel is worth comparing for its provider-access membership, Hone Health for its published confirmatory-testing process, and Wittmer or TRT Nation for lower advertised base costs. An in-network clinician is a better starting point for insurance; the exact prescription, not an online or local label, determines FDA approval. Fertility plans call for a fertility-aware clinician before choosing testosterone treatment.12345

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

Here's every option side by side, using each company's own pages. The year-one row separates standard-plan scenarios, incomplete fee totals and prepaid-purchase examples. These are not equivalent all-in quotes; every provider's information was checked October 14, 2026.

Which Transcend alternative fits why you're leaving?

Start with why you're leaving Transcend. That points to the right replacement better than price alone. Find your reason below, see the match, and note the one situation where you should skip it.

When is Male Excel a useful Transcend alternative?

Male Excel posts a $99 consultation-and-test order, a required $99 monthly membership, and a testosterone-plus-thyroid injection package starting at $120 a month. Those starting prices produce a $2,727 base scenario, not a complete patient quote. Shipping, any tax, added testing, the prescribed package and actual refill billing can change what you pay.11920

Let's get the downside out of the way first.

Male Excel does not have the lowest price. Wittmer's stated standard-plan scenario is $1,712.64; TRT Nation also advertises a lower base price. Hone's $1,710 starting fee subtotal excludes medicine, so it cannot establish a cheaper complete treatment bill without a prescription quote.342

Why it can still be worth it: Male Excel charges a separate membership. It advertises unlimited e-visits with a dedicated provider and unlimited support messaging. That model may fit someone who expects to use clinician access rather than pay only for a prescription. Its written guarantee concerns a limited membership-fee refund—not guaranteed results, response speed or uninterrupted refills.131

The bill, line by line

Transcend TRT alternatives table 6: The bill, line by line
Item Cost in the base model
Online medical consultation and home hormone test $99 once
Medical Membership (required) $99 × 12 = $1,188
Testosterone-plus-thyroid injection package $120 × 12 = $1,440; the price page describes $240 every other month for a 60-day supply
Shipping and handling Extra; amount not posted
Additional or replacement tests, other prescriptions and any tax Not included; confirm which are required and charged
Year-one base scenario $2,727 before those extras
Later-year base scenario at unchanged prices $2,628 before those extras, assuming no new startup charge
Cream-plus-thyroid package instead ($132/month) Year-one base scenario $2,871 before extras

The math: $99 + ($99 × 12) + ($120 × 12) = $2,727.

This model uses twelve membership payments and six $240 medication orders. Six 60-day supplies cover 360 days, not 365. Ask for the dated order schedule and supply needed for your first full year; an additional medication purchase inside that period would increase cash paid. We did not test a checkout calendar.1

A few things move that number:

  • Your prescription. Male Excel says a dose change can change the price.1
  • The package. The starting injection package includes thyroid tablets along with testosterone and syringes. Not everyone needs thyroid medicine. If your clinician agrees you don't, ask for a testosterone-only price. The cream package also includes thyroid tablets; a listed bundle does not establish a medical need for them.1
  • Shipping. It's added on and not posted.1

What else to know

  • Compounded medicine. Male Excel's site says its compounded medications are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved. Its cream is explicitly described as compounded. Its general disclosure does not identify the exact injectable vial a patient will receive; ask for the product label. More on what that means below.1932
  • States not served (11): Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Rhode Island.19
  • Follow-up (provider-stated): periodic assessments accompany refills; the FAQ says blood testing may be needed at six months and one year. The full early-monitoring panel and included fees are not clear in the checked pages. Ask how repeat diagnostic testing and baseline hematocrit are handled before a new diagnosis. An in-person exam may be required in some cases.1932
  • No contract. Its pricing page says "No Contract, Cancel Anytime." Ask for the cancellation method and effective date in writing. The FAQ describes a 48-hour action window after a refill reminder; canceling membership and stopping an unprocessed refill are separate questions.119
  • The guarantee. Male Excel's Excel Advantage terms (checked October 14, 2026) allow qualifying members to request their first three months of membership fees back after 90 continuous days without the defined improvement. Adherence, documentation and review conditions apply; request within 30 days after the 90-day period ends. That covers membership, not medicine. Read the terms before you count on it.31
  • Pharmacy choice. Its FAQ names Anazao Health Corp. and WellDyneRx-FL. Its terms require contracted pharmacies rather than your own chosen pharmacy. Ask which one would dispense your prescription and how to get your complete medical record.1920

Who should skip Male Excel: price-first shoppers (compare Wittmer and TRT Nation), anyone in the 11 states above, anyone who needs insurance or their own pharmacy, and anyone whose fertility plans need a specialist-led decision. For FDA-approved-only treatment, do not proceed without confirmation of the exact product; its compounded cream does not meet that requirement.

How much do Transcend alternatives cost in year one?

Advertised base scenarios range from about $1,587 to $2,727, but they do not buy the same things or represent complete bills for every patient. Transcend's full year cannot be calculated from the checked pages, and two official starting-price paths conflict. Use the Fair Quote Line below only after adding missing costs and matching the services in both quotes.

Why we can't price Transcend

Transcend's starter page says its two options are $199 (visit only, for people with labs under 60 days old) and $398 (labs plus visit). Its own comparison chart checks the boxes for "Transparent Pricing" and "No Recurring Membership Fees."12

But on October 14, 2026, the checked starter and intake pages did not establish ongoing testosterone, shipping or follow-up laboratory costs. The official intake form separately listed a $249 consultation plus $199 for blood work: $448, not $398. It also allowed recent outside labs and said treatment pricing varies.1230

That is a real $50 starting-price conflict, not a reason to average the two. Ask which payment path applies and who will provide the service before paying.

The Fair Quote Line

So we built a yardstick. We took each alternative's stated cost scenario, subtracted Transcend's starter, and divided by 12. We show both the $398 store starter and the $448 consult-plus-labs intake price.

The result is a reference point for Transcend's remaining monthly costs—not a proven savings threshold. Where an alternative excludes medicine, shipping or tests, add those costs first. If you get a written Transcend quote, compare it to this line only when both sides cover the same year and services.

Transcend TRT alternatives table 7: The Fair Quote Line
Compared with… Alternative cost used; missing costs still apply Reference after a $398 starter Reference after a $448 starter
Male Excel injection-plus-thyroid base scenario $2,727 before shipping and other extras $194.08/month $189.92/month
Taurus Meds, only if no separate fee applies $1,837 promotional calculation $119.92/month $115.75/month
Wittmer standard plan $1,712.64; extra medicines separate $109.55/month $105.39/month
Hone Health Plus, lower at-lab confirmation fee $1,710 before medicine $109.33/month $105.17/month
TRT Nation, annualized example with three $129 lab panels $1,586.88, not a prepaid checkout total $99.07/month $94.91/month

Example: ($2,727 − $398) ÷ 12 = $194.08.

One fairness note. Transcend's starter page says annual wellness visits are included. We assumed year one needs no second starter. Ask whether year two does.12

How each total was built

Transcend TRT alternatives table 8: How each total was built
Option Math What the result covers
Male Excel $99 + ($99 × 12) + ($120 × 12) $2,727 base scenario; shipping, any tax, extra tests or prescriptions and actual refill timing can add cost
Hone Health Plus $45 + $45 at-lab confirmation + ($135 × 12) $1,710 before medicine; $1,715 using the other page's $50 lab fee, or $1,745 with $80 home confirmation
Hone illustration only: a separately confirmed $28/month prescription $1,710 + ($28 × 12) $2,046; not a verified medication quote and not a conversion of $28 per vial into $28 per month
Wittmer $297 + ($117.97 × 12) $1,712.64 for the provider-stated standard plan; extra medicines separate
TRT Nation, annualized example ($99.99 × 12) + (3 × $129 labs) $1,586.88; twelve marketed months of treatment plus three assumed panels, not actual package payments
TRT Nation, illustrative cash purchases (5 × approximately $250) + (3 × $129 labs) About $1,637 for five 2.5-month packages; actual billing, California prices and required tests can differ
Taurus Meds promotional calculation $49 + ($149 × 12) $1,837, only if the offer includes all required care and no separate fee applies
Taurus illustration if the separate fee applies monthly $1,837 + ($17.99 × 12) $2,052.88, not a verified quote or a maximum price

The TRT Nation example assumes three paid panels, not a universal testing schedule. Existing accepted labs might reduce paid testing; repeat diagnostic tests or extra monitoring could add it. Five prepaid packages are sold as 12.5 marketed months. That label does not establish the days of supply for your actual prescription or the number of orders paid for inside a 365-day year; confirm both before treating $1,637 as a yearly bill. Male Excel's medication schedule has a similar cash-versus-supply issue described above.4251

Why other sites show different Transcend prices

At least one comparison page (HealthRX, updated May 27, 2026) lists Transcend at $199–$399+ a month in membership, or $4,000–$7,000 a year. Transcend's store describes $199 and $398 as a starter and says it charges no recurring membership. Those pages do not support using the starter fee as a monthly treatment charge, and the checked official pages do not establish HealthRX's yearly range. Its comparison also did not address the assignment described in the later assignee notice.33127

We'd trust a written quote over anyone's estimate — including ours.

If Male Excel's membership fits your needs, compare the package prices before requesting your full quote. Compare Male Excel's injection and cream starting prices → Official pricing page. Both starting packages include thyroid medicine; membership and shipping are separate. The listed package is not a recommendation to take every ingredient.

When is Hone Health a useful Transcend alternative?

Hone Health's Plus documents require a confirmatory blood test before TRT, with total testosterone, hematocrit, PSA and prolactin. The plan lists $45 to start, $45–$80 for confirmation depending on the page and method, and $135 a month, with medicine billed separately. That is a published process, not our independent observation of every patient's care.218

Why the second test matters

Both major U.S. guidelines require compatible symptoms or signs plus low testosterone confirmed with appropriate repeat early-morning testing. The Endocrine Society specifies a repeat morning fasting measurement; the clinician also considers the test method and whether free testosterone is needed.3435

Hone describes a confirmatory step in its plan. The panel also checks:2

  • Hematocrit: the share of your blood made of red blood cells. Testosterone can raise it.35
  • PSA (prostate-specific antigen): a prostate blood marker. Whether testing is appropriate depends on age, risk and the clinician's assessment.35
  • Prolactin: a pituitary hormone. High levels can point to a different problem.34

What you get on Plus (Hone's help center, updated September 29, 2026)

  • $45 at-home starter test (eight markers, including total and free testosterone, SHBG and LH)
  • A live video visit with a Hone physician
  • Confirmatory test: $45 at a lab on the plan page ($50 on Hone's lab-schedule page), or $80 at home
  • $135/month membership, with follow-up labs and consults included and free shipping
  • Follow-up labs: at months 3, 6, 9 and 12, then every six months. Your physician may change the schedule.18
  • Medicine, billed separately: testosterone cypionate injection from $28 per vial; compounded testosterone cream $60/month; compounded troche $60/month. A troche dissolves in the mouth. Hone's advertised testosterone injection page also identifies its offered product as compounded.223
  • HSA/FSA accepted; no insurance, according to Hone. HSA/FSA payment uses eligible account funds; it is not insurance coverage.2

The tradeoffs

  • Medicine is extra, and "per vial" isn't "per month." How long a vial lasts depends on the prescription and vial size. If a written medication quote really is $28 a month, the lower-fee year-one illustration is $2,046. Hone's product page uses a monthly starting-price label while its Plus table uses a per-vial unit; neither establishes your full medication bill without the dispensing details.223
  • Hone's two help pages list different at-lab prices for the confirmatory test ($45 vs. $50). Ask which applies.218
  • Membership keeps billing. Per Hone's membership FAQ, you cancel through support, and it takes effect at the end of the billing period. The membership bills even in a month you don't use medicine. Ask separately about an already processed prescription and any refundable charges.22
  • Not every state, not every plan. Men's Plus is listed in 35 states, excluding 15 states and DC. New York lists men's Premium only; Alabama lists women's Premium, not a men's TRT plan. Do not use the $135 Plus price for a different plan. See the state table.21

Want to read the testing steps and fees before choosing a program? See Hone's Plus plan and confirmatory-test fees → Official plan page. Starts with a $45 test-and-consultation package; confirmation, ongoing membership and medicine add cost. Check the separate state table before paying.

What's the cheapest Transcend alternative?

TRT Nation has a lower advertised base price, while Wittmer's stated standard-plan calculation is $1,712.64 including its startup fee. A cheapest complete treatment plan cannot be established without matching the prescription, testing and payment schedule. Taurus Meds advertises $149 a month, but its general terms list a separate fee whose application to that offer is unresolved.432728

Wittmer Rejuvenation Clinic

Wittmer posts one of the simplest bills we've seen:

  • $297 to start. That covers comprehensive labs and a specialist consultation.
  • Then $117.97 a month. That covers testosterone, follow-up labs two or three times a year, scheduled consults, injection supplies, shipping and text/email/call support.
  • Standard-plan year one: $1,712.64. No separate membership fee and no contract, according to its cost page. Ask whether the $297 startup applies to your transfer and accepted labs.3
  • HSA/FSA accepted, according to Wittmer.3
  • It has a transfer page for patients switching from other clinics.

Wittmer's transfer page says it serves all 50 states. That is a provider claim, not our confirmation of an available clinician for your location or of DC coverage. We could not identify the exact testosterone product or dispensing pharmacy from these pages; extra medicines are billed separately.243

Ask before you pay. One more thing: Wittmer's own competitor chart is dated January 2026. We used it for Wittmer's stated plan, not as the authority for other clinics' current prices. Its transfer page's reassurance about no gaps does not guarantee your prescription or timing.324

See Wittmer's transfer requirements → (official transfer page)

TRT Nation

  • Price: $99.99/month, sold in 2.5-month purchases. This is a marketed monthly equivalent, not a $99.99 monthly payment; the price page says California pricing can differ.4
  • Labs: $129 a panel, or bring your own if accepted. Its pages disagree on outside-lab age: one says 120 days, another says six months. Ask which rule and complete panel apply to your transfer.2517
  • What it says is included: testosterone cypionate, anastrozole, syringes, shipping and a provider consult. Anastrozole is a separate medicine, not testosterone; its appearance in a package does not establish that every patient needs it. The main FAQ says medications come from compounding pharmacies, so request the exact product and pharmacy.2517
  • State and age limits: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri and Hawaii are excluded in the checked lists. The homepage also excludes North Dakota, while the 2026 FAQ omits it; North Dakota is unresolved. TRT Nation states an age minimum of 24.2617
  • Our $1,586.88 annualized example assumes three lab panels. Five approximately $250 prepaid packages plus those panels would mean about $1,637 paid. Whether five packages cover your full calendar year depends on the prescription, supplied quantity and refill dates. This is a model, not a verified checkout or a prescribed schedule.
  • Monitoring and refills: its FAQ describes testing around ten weeks, again six months after that test, then annually, subject to clinical needs. It describes refill requests before the supply ends and shipment that can take up to ten business days after a consultation. Ask for your actual refill deadline, cancellation terms and whether any unprocessed order is refundable.17

Cheaper monthly doesn't always mean cheaper overall. Count the prepay minimum and any labs you'll need.

Taurus Meds

Taurus advertises:

  • $49 for a blood test and consult (marked down from $129)
  • Then $149/month, described as all-inclusive, with "no membership fees"
  • Compounded medicine. Its page says it uses compounded hormones.27
  • An advertised refund promise. Its offer page describes a 90-day results refund minus laboratory and pharmacy fees. Its legal refund policy instead limits refunds mainly to medical disqualification and does not set out that results promise. Do not assume the marketing promise is part of your agreement.2729

The gap: Taurus's general terms list a $17.99 fee "per billing period" unless your purchase terms say otherwise. We couldn't confirm whether it applies to the $149 TRT offer, or how often. If it applied monthly for twelve months, that illustration would be $2,052.88 instead of $1,837. Neither amount is a verified complete quote.28

Taurus's refund policy also requires 72 hours' notice before a billing date to cancel. The checked pages did not supply a state-by-state TRT list or a clear follow-up laboratory schedule. Get the fee, minimum term, testing, exact treatment format and refund answers in writing before you pay.2927

Its general terms name OpenLoop Health as a management-services partner and list RedRock Pharmacy, Health Warehouse, Precision Compounding Pharmacy and Triad Rx as pharmacy partners. That does not identify which pharmacy would fill your TRT prescription or verify a license for your state.28

If the $149 price is what caught your eye, check the fee before you commit. Read Taurus's $49 starting offer → Official offer page. Compare it with the fee terms and refund policy, then ask which terms govern your purchase.

Which Transcend alternatives serve my state?

Wittmer's transfer page claims all 50 states, while Male Excel and Hone publish narrower program lists. TRT Nation's pages conflict on North Dakota, and we could not verify a current state-by-state TRT list for Taurus or Defy. A listed state is not a promise of an appointment, a prescription or access to the same treatment format.2419212617

This table keeps the states where at least one published list creates a restriction or question. Yes means the provider's list includes the state, not that we checked an individual clinician's license. Wittmer's column reflects its broad 50-state claim, not a separately verified state roster.

States omitted from this table appear in the checked Male Excel and men's Plus lists and are not excluded by TRT Nation's checked pages; Wittmer makes the same broad all-state claim. Confirm where you will be physically located during the visit, the clinician available there, the exact plan and the pharmacy's ability to ship it.

What the table tells you:

  • Alaska or Arkansas: Male Excel, Hone men's plans and TRT Nation do not list access. Wittmer claims access; confirm directly, or contact a local clinician.
  • Alabama: Hone's women-only Premium availability is not men's TRT access. Check Wittmer's claimed coverage or a local clinician.
  • Mississippi: Hone Plus and TRT Nation list access; Male Excel does not.
  • New York: Hone lists men's Premium, not Plus. Hawaii and South Dakota list men's Plus but not men's Premium. Do not transfer a price or feature from one tier to the other.21

Defy Medical remains another practice a reader can contact, but its detailed state-policy page could not be verified in this check. Do not rely on a 49-state claim without confirming your location directly.

Why state matters at all. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance and needs a valid prescription. The current federal extension allows qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substances through audio-video telemedicine without a prior in-person examination through December 31, 2026, subject to federal and state requirements. It does not guarantee that a particular clinic or patient qualifies, override state practice rules or establish what applies after that date. A clinician needs the required authority where the patient is located; some programs may still require an in-person visit.363738

Your state is on Male Excel's list? Read Male Excel's state and care FAQs → Official FAQ. A listed state is not clinical approval; confirm an available clinician and the requirements for your visit.

Will a new clinic accept my Transcend labs and prescription?

Your Transcend records help a new clinician understand your history, but they don't guarantee the same prescription or a skipped test. The programs below describe different rules for outside labs and clinician review. Ask how recent your labs must be and what a new test costs before you book.

Three different things can happen to your old labs:

  • Accepted: used in place of a new test.
  • Reviewed: read for history, but you still test again.
  • Not accepted as the starting panel: the program needs different or newer tests, though your prior records still matter.

Hone has a "bring your own labs" policy page, and Wittmer describes reviewing records on its transfer page. Neither promises every patient skips testing.3924

Transcend TRT alternatives table 10: Will a new clinic accept my Transcend labs and prescription?
Program Published transfer or testing rule The cost or care question it leaves
Hone Plus Outside labs must be within 90 days and include all required markers; buying the initial test-and-consultation package is still required Accepted records do not automatically waive the startup payment or confirmatory testing
Wittmer Reviews recent labs and the current treatment plan, then identifies missing information Whether your transfer needs new labs or the standard $297 startup fee
TRT Nation Allows qualifying outside labs, but checked pages say 120 days versus six months Which age limit and marker list apply; whether repeat diagnostic testing adds cost
Male Excel Publishes a home test and clinician assessment process How an established TRT patient transfers, whether outside labs replace any charge, and how repeat testing is handled
Taurus Meds Advertises testing and consultation in its introductory offer Whether prior results are accepted, the required repeat tests and the included follow-up panel
Transcend's store $199 visit-only option describes labs less than 60 days old Whether the separate intake form uses the same rule and price

These are published policies and unresolved transfer questions—not evidence that any program can waive clinically needed testing.392242517192712

Why a clinician may ask for another test. In a July 2026 statement, the Endocrine Society noted that testosterone tests aren't fully standardized across labs. A number from one lab may not line up neatly with another. That explains a possible clinical reason for retesting; it does not establish any provider's fee or prove that every transfer needs a new test.40

Ask the new clinic three questions:

  1. Will you accept my labs, and how recent must they be?
  2. Who reviews my prescription, and how long does that take?
  3. What happens if my medicine runs out before my first visit?

Ask your current or receiving clinician what to do if there may be a gap; do not adjust your prescription on your own to make supplies last. Tell the new clinician exactly what you take, including any non-testosterone medicines. Testing while already on treatment is not the same as diagnosing an untreated person; do not stop treatment on your own to create a new baseline.35

Are Transcend alternatives FDA-approved or compounded?

Several programs here disclose compounded testosterone, which is not FDA-approved. Others do not identify the exact product a patient would receive, so the brand name alone cannot settle approval status. For an FDA-approved product or insurance, start with a clinician who can prescribe the exact product you need and check coverage separately.6

Here's the difference in plain words.

FDA-approved testosterone products

FDA-approved means the FDA reviewed that exact product for safety, effectiveness and quality before it was sold. Approved products include specific testosterone cypionate injections, gels and oral testosterone undecanoate capsules. A drug name or treatment format alone does not identify an approved product; ask for its manufacturer and product label. Approval does not guarantee insurance coverage or that a pharmacy has it in stock.4142

Compounded testosterone preparations

Compounded means ingredients are combined, mixed or altered to create a preparation for a patient's medical need. The FDA says compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. That means the FDA hasn't reviewed that specific preparation for safety, effectiveness or quality before you get it.6

Compounded doesn't automatically mean bad. But it isn't the same as an approved product, so don't let anyone tell you it is.6

Where each option stands, per its own pages:

  • Male Excel: says its compounded medications are not FDA-approved and explicitly describes its cream as compounded. The checked pages do not identify the exact injectable vial for an individual patient.1932
  • Taurus Meds: its testosterone offer describes compounded hormones.27
  • Hone: its cream and troche are compounded, and its advertised testosterone injection page also says that product is compounded.223
  • TRT Nation: its main FAQ says medications come from U.S. compounding pharmacies. Ask for the exact dispensed product; do not label it FDA-approved from the name “testosterone cypionate.”25
  • Wittmer and Transcend: the checked care pages do not establish the exact testosterone product or its approval status.312

What is disclosed about the dispensing pharmacy?

Transcend TRT alternatives table 11: What is disclosed about the dispensing pharmacy?
Provider Pharmacy disclosure found in public pages What you still need before a transfer
Male Excel FAQ names Anazao Health Corp. and WellDyneRx-FL; terms require contracted pharmacies Your assigned pharmacy, exact product and the process for records and future prescription changes
Hone Describes a pharmacy network; the checked page does not name the pharmacy for your order Pharmacy name, location and product label
Wittmer Exact TRT pharmacy not identified in the checked cost and transfer pages The dispensing pharmacy and whether the quoted product is approved or compounded
TRT Nation Describes U.S. compounding pharmacies; the checked FAQs do not identify your assigned dispenser Name, location and exact prescription product
Taurus Meds Terms list RedRock Pharmacy, Health Warehouse, Precision Compounding Pharmacy and Triad Rx Which partner would dispense TRT, rather than another medication program
Transcend Terms list AnazaoHealth, Tailor Made Compounding, Vios Compounding and BrooksvilleRx Which pharmacy actually filled your prescription and who can authorize the next one

Names and network descriptions are provider-stated, not independent license verification. A named licensed pharmacy does not make a compounded product FDA-approved. Confirm the clinician's license with the state medical or nursing board and the pharmacy's authority with your state pharmacy board before relying on a claimed match.192043242528156

Ask any provider:

  • What exact drug and strength will I get?
  • Is it FDA-approved or compounded?
  • Which pharmacy fills it?

Approved does not mean risk-free. FDA's February 2025 class-wide update required added blood-pressure warnings for testosterone products. Ask your clinician how blood pressure, hematocrit and other monitoring fit your history and exact prescription.4135

What if I want kids? Is there a Transcend alternative for fertility?

Children now or later change the decision, not just plans within the next year. Testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production; AUA/ASRM guidance advises against testosterone alone for men interested in current or future fertility. Discuss that goal with a reproductive urologist or fertility-aware clinician before choosing or transferring a treatment plan.5

Here's why. Testosterone from outside your body signals your brain to turn down the hormones (LH and FSH) that tell your testes to make sperm.5

That can lower sperm counts. Whether and how fast counts recover after a clinician-directed treatment change varies from person to person. Nobody can promise you a timeline.5

Transcend has a "fertility" page that markets testosterone services. Keep the AUA/ASRM guidance above in mind when you read pages like that. Its fertility wording does not establish that a testosterone prescription protects sperm production.445

Some medicines get called "TRT alternatives." They are not TRT, and they're not interchangeable with it:

  • Clomiphene citrate: FDA-approved for certain ovulation problems in women; use in men is off-label, meaning outside the approved label.455
  • Enclomiphene: not FDA-approved. It is not interchangeable with an approved clomiphene product or with testosterone.46
  • hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin): FDA-approved products exist. Pregnyl's label includes selected cases of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism—a hormone deficiency caused by inadequate signals to the testes. Other uses must be checked against the specific label and clinical situation.47

One product-name trap: Male Excel's pricing page calls Triclozene a clomiphene combination, while its dedicated product page describes enclomiphene with two other ingredients. Those are not the same claim. Ask for the exact ingredients rather than choosing it by brand name or a fertility promise; neither description makes it TRT.148

None of these comes with a guarantee to protect or restore fertility.5

I haven't been diagnosed yet. Should I pick an alternative?

Choosing a prescription plan is not the first step when low testosterone has not been properly evaluated. Diagnosis requires compatible symptoms or signs and consistently low results confirmed with appropriate repeat early-morning testing—not one number, a quiz or a symptom list. Start with a clinician who will evaluate the cause and complete the needed testing.3435

What the guidelines say:

  • American Urological Association: below 300 ng/dL is a reasonable total-testosterone cutoff supporting a diagnosis. It also requires two separate early-morning measurements and symptoms or signs; the cutoff is not a universal diagnosis by itself.34
  • Endocrine Society: symptoms or signs plus unequivocally and consistently low testosterone, using reliable tests; repeat a morning fasting total-testosterone measurement, with free testosterone when indicated.35

Total testosterone is all the testosterone in your blood. No single cutoff diagnoses you on its own.

These call for clinician-led assessment, often with in-person or specialist care rather than a routine online checkout:

  • Very low results
  • Headaches or vision changes
  • Breast swelling or tenderness
  • A history of prostate or breast cancer
  • High hematocrit
  • Untreated severe sleep apnea
  • A heart attack or stroke in the past six months

These are reasons for a careful evaluation, not a diagnosis or a complete list of contraindications. The Endocrine Society advises against starting testosterone in several of these situations, including elevated hematocrit, untreated severe sleep apnea and a heart attack or stroke within six months.35

I used Transcend for peptides, weight loss or women's hormones. Where do I go?

This page covers U.S. adults considering care for male testosterone deficiency. Peptides, weight-loss medicines and women's hormone therapy follow different rules and different evidence, so they need their own comparison. Do not apply these provider fits to adolescents, gender-affirming care or nonmedical performance use.

  • Peptides: ask for the exact substance, its approval status and the legal basis for compounding it. A clinic's use of the word “peptide” does not establish safety, approval or lawful availability.6
  • Weight loss: compare programs by the specific medicine, whether it's FDA-approved or compounded, and the monthly cost.
  • Women's hormone therapy: look for a clinician who treats the relevant condition, such as a menopause-focused clinician for menopause symptoms.
  • Gender-affirming testosterone: this follows different care standards. Look for a gender-affirming care provider rather than a men's low-T program.
  • Adolescents or performance use: these comparisons do not establish suitable care for someone under 18 or justify testosterone for bodybuilding or athletic performance.

What eight questions should you ask a Transcend alternative before paying?

Get these answers in writing and keep them. If a company won't answer one before you pay, that tells you something.

  1. What will a full year cost for the clinician's proposed prescription, including all tests, visits, shipping, any tax and required purchases?
  2. How often will I be billed, is there a minimum term, how do I cancel, and what can be refunded?
  3. Is my testosterone FDA-approved or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it?
  4. Who will prescribe for me, are they authorized where I will be located, and whom do I contact about a delayed refill?
  5. Will you accept my recent labs, does that remove any fee, and how can I get my records if I leave?
  6. How often are follow-up labs, and are they included?
  7. Do you need an in-person visit in my state?
  8. If I want children now or later, who will evaluate fertility and explain alternatives before a treatment decision?

Should you stay with Transcend?

Staying with a clinician you trust can make sense when the practice confirms ongoing care, records access and a clear written cost. The Fair Quote Line helps compare money; it does not decide medical fit or require you to leave a good clinician for a cheaper option. Until those questions are answered, a new Transcend payment leaves important cost and delivery risks unresolved.

Stay if:

  • You're happy with your clinician.
  • You can confirm, in writing, who's treating you and what it costs.
  • The responsible practice and pharmacy confirm how you will obtain records, clinical review and future refills.

Consider a different care arrangement if:

  • You need clearer pricing or do not want to make new payments through a company in an assignment process.
  • The practice cannot explain appropriate diagnostic testing or ongoing monitoring.
  • The offered product does not meet your FDA-approved-only or insurance needs.
  • Your fertility goals are not being addressed by an appropriate clinician.

To be fair, Transcend's store still lists some useful features:

  • A broad starting lab panel (it says 60+ markers)
  • HSA/FSA payment
  • A $199 visit-only option for people with recent labs
  • Stated coverage in all 50 states plus DC; that claim does not confirm current clinical access for you.12

If you stay, request your records anyway. A covered provider may charge a reasonable, cost-based copying fee; access is not automatically free.16

How did we compare Transcend and its alternatives?

We read the available provider pricing, plan and policy pages, the posted sale notice and the assignee's patient notice. We separated complete standard-plan scenarios from partial fees, annualized figures and prepaid-purchase examples instead of pretending they were identical bills. We did not enroll, buy care or test anyone's customer support.

What we actually verified

Date checked: October 14, 2026. This check covered the cited Transcend, Male Excel, Hone, Wittmer, TRT Nation and Taurus pages, including the guarantee and state-list conflicts discussed above. Defy's homepage was accessible, but its detailed state-policy page could not be checked; no verified Defy availability claim is used here.

Sources:

  • Each company's own pages
  • The assignee's posted sale notice, linked asset-listing destination and patient notice
  • Transcend's December 2025 provider letter
  • FDA, DEA and HHS
  • The American Urological Association and the Endocrine Society

Verified as published statements, not proof of service delivery:

  • The assignment and patient-claim information in the assignee's notice, including its conflicting footer year
  • The brand-sale notice's October 9 bid deadline and exclusion of patient data
  • Transcend's $199/$398 store options and the conflicting $249-plus-$199 intake charges
  • The cited providers' stated prices, supply and billing units, available state lists, formulation disclosures and policy conflicts

Independently checked calculations: the standard-plan and base-fee models, conditional fee examples and both versions of the Fair Quote Line. Any unlisted medicine, tax, shipping, additional test or extra purchase remains outside an incomplete model.

Provider-stated, not independently tested:

  • Follow-up schedules and clinician access
  • Lab marker counts
  • "No contract" and "all included" claims
  • Transcend's 50-state-plus-DC and Wittmer's 50-state coverage claims

Could not confirm:

  • Transcend's full ongoing treatment price or a completed brand sale and buyer
  • Whether Taurus's $17.99 fee applies to the TRT offer, its billing frequency, or how its advertised results refund fits its legal policy
  • A current Taurus or Defy state-by-state TRT policy, an individual clinician's access under Wittmer's 50-state claim, or TRT Nation's conflicting North Dakota status
  • Every patient's exact product, assigned pharmacy, clinician credentials and state authorization
  • Male Excel's complete shipping, testing and first-year order costs
  • A guaranteed transfer time, prescription continuation or response time for any provider

What else should you know about Transcend TRT alternatives?

The remaining questions are about continuity, refunds and whether a particular plan matches your needs. The answers below use the same dated evidence and cost limits as the main comparison.

What is the best alternative to Transcend Company for TRT? It depends on why you're leaving. Male Excel may fit someone who values its stated provider-access membership; Hone publishes a clear confirmatory-testing process; Wittmer and TRT Nation are worth comparing for a lower advertised base cost. None is a verified cheapest or best clinical choice for every patient. For insurance, an FDA-approved-only prescription or fertility concerns, the appropriate clinician and product matter more than the subscription brand.12345

Is Transcend Company going out of business? The assignee's notice reports a May 21, 2026 assignment, and the posted brand-sale notice sets an October 9, 2026 bid deadline. The checked records do not establish a completed sale or a buyer. That does not establish that every independent clinician who treated Transcend patients stopped practicing.7811

Was Transcend Company sold? Who bought it? Its trademarks, domains and social accounts were offered for sale, but the checked sale materials did not establish a completed sale or identify a buyer as of October 14, 2026. Patient data was excluded from the described asset offering.8

How do I get a refund from Transcend? If you paid for services or products you never received and weren't refunded, the assignee's patient notice lists December 28, 2026 for filing a claim with supporting documents. Its footer year conflicts with the described events; confirm the date and submission instructions with the assignee without delaying. Filing is not a guarantee of payment, and this is not a statement about every possible legal remedy.7

What happens to my medical records if Transcend is sold? The posted brand-sale offering excludes patient data. Transcend's December 2025 letter says RSV Medical remains responsible for its records and describes record duties for the affiliated groups, while Transcend may retain records as required by law. Start with the practice that treated you and confirm the current records custodian.811

How do I get my medical records from Transcend? Contact the practice named in your visit notes. The December 2025 letter listed RSV Medical at (833) 548-5664 and a contact for the Transcend-affiliated groups at (248) 520-5407; those historical contact details were not tested by calling. Ask a covered provider in writing under your HIPAA right of access and confirm any reasonable copying fee.1116

Can I switch TRT providers without a gap? Planning ahead can reduce the risk of a gap, but no provider can guarantee a seamless transfer before evaluating you. Contact the current practice and dispensing pharmacy, and arrange a new clinician's review before your supply becomes an urgent problem. No one can guarantee the new clinician will continue the same prescription.

Will a new provider accept my Transcend labs? Some will review them, and some will require their own tests. Ask how recent your labs must be, and what a new panel costs. Hone's policy, for example, still requires buying its initial package even when qualifying outside labs are accepted.39

What's the cheapest alternative to Transcend? Wittmer's provider-stated standard-plan scenario is $1,712.64. TRT Nation's $1,586.88 figure here is an annualized example, while five prepaid packages plus three assumed panels would be about $1,637; California and extra testing can change it. Hone Plus starts at $1,710 in fees before medicine, so that subtotal cannot establish a cheaper complete bill.34252

Does Transcend charge a monthly membership? Its store says no recurring membership and lists $199 or $398 starter options. Its intake form separately lists $249 for a consultation and $199 for blood work. The checked pages do not establish ongoing testosterone costs, so confirm the applicable full quote.1230

Do any Transcend alternatives take insurance? The posted prices compared here are cash-pay offers, not verified insurance benefits. HSA/FSA acceptance is not insurance coverage, and you should ask separately about laboratory or prescription claims. For coverage, start with an appropriate in-network clinician and your insurer's rules for the exact product.2023

Which Transcend alternatives serve all 50 states? Wittmer's transfer page claims all 50 states. We did not independently verify available clinicians for every state, and “50 states” does not settle DC access. Male Excel and Hone publish narrower lists; use the state table and confirm the exact program before paying.241921

Is Transcend Company the same as Transcend Therapeutics? No. Transcend Therapeutics is the drug developer named in Otsuka's acquisition announcement, not the Transcend Company telehealth business discussed here. That announcement does not identify a buyer for these telehealth brand assets.138

Which alternative is best if I want to have kids? A reproductive urologist or fertility-aware clinician is the better starting point when children now or later are part of the decision. Testosterone can suppress sperm production, and non-testosterone medicines are not interchangeable treatments or guarantees of fertility.5

Here's the bottom line:

  • Get your records and confirm your care contact. For undelivered purchases, the assignee's patient notice lists December 28, 2026 for claims; confirm its instructions without delaying.
  • Male Excel may fit a reader who values its stated provider-access membership and accepts the separate medication costs.
  • Hone publishes a clear confirmatory-testing process; medicine and plan-level state limits still matter.
  • Wittmer or TRT Nation deserve a cost comparison using the same services and payment period—not just the headline monthly price.
  • Your own doctor or another appropriate clinician is the starting point for an FDA-approved-only prescription or insurance needs.
  • A reproductive urologist or fertility-aware clinician comes first when future children affect the treatment decision.
