Male Excel vs Transcend: Which Online TRT Option Fits You in 2026?
Male Excel vs Transcend, the short answer: Male Excel is the clearer pick for new patients in a state it serves who want more predictable published costs and frequent follow-up. Its starting injection model is about $2,727 for year one before shipping. Transcend's brand assets are in a creditor-sale process, its public start prices conflict, and testosterone pricing is undisclosed.
One catch: Male Excel's cheapest headline price isn't testosterone at all.
We'll show you that catch, the math behind both bills, and the one number that tells you whether a Transcend quote is actually cheaper.
Male Excel is likely the better fit if:
- You want more of your starting and recurring cost visible before you pay
- You want a clinician you can message anytime and a check-in every 60 days
- You live outside the 11 states Male Excel doesn't serve
Pick neither yet if:
- You are actively trying to conceive or planning fertility in the near term
- You want an FDA-approved testosterone product, or you want insurance to pay
- Low testosterone hasn't been confirmed with repeat early-morning blood tests
Transcend status, October 12, 2026: Transcend Company made a general assignment for the benefit of creditors on May 21, 2026. Its trademarks, websites/domain names and social media accounts were later offered for sale by the assignee, with bids due October 9, 2026. We found no public buyer announcement as of this date. The sale notice says all data, including protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII), is excluded from the brand-asset sale. What this means for you ↓

TRT Provider Guide is the independent decision resource for testosterone replacement therapy — helping U.S. adults understand how low testosterone is evaluated, compare online and local care models and providers, and choose the next step that fits their health needs, fertility plans, budget, state, and care preferences, with every material claim verified and dated.
Male Excel vs Transcend at a glance: what can you know before you pay?
The biggest difference is how much you can see before you hand over money. Male Excel publishes its consultation fee, required membership and starting testosterone price. Transcend's current Starter Package page shows $199 for a visit only or $398 for labs plus a visit, while its separate intake form lists a $249 HRT/TRT consult plus $199 comprehensive blood work. It still does not publish the cost of testosterone — and its brand assets are currently in a creditor sale.
We asked both companies' public pages the same 17 questions. Every answer is labeled:
- ✔ Verified — we read it on the company's own page on October 12, 2026
- ◐ Company says — the company states it; we couldn't test it
- ✖ Not disclosed — we looked and couldn't find it before payment

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.
Male Excel or Transcend: which should you choose?
Choose Male Excel if you live in a state it serves and you want a more predictable published starting cost plus frequent clinician contact. Choose neither if near-term fertility matters, you want an FDA-approved product or insurance coverage, or low testosterone has not been properly confirmed. Transcend is hard to recommend to a new patient while its brand assets are in a creditor-sale process and its current public pricing remains incomplete and internally inconsistent.
Find your row. That's your starting point.

Landed in the Male Excel row? If clearer published pricing and ongoing clinician access are what you're after, start Male Excel's free online assessment. The destination opens Male Excel's assessment before the paid $99 lab/consult step. A clinician — not the assessment — decides whether treatment is appropriate.

Is Transcend going out of business?
Transcend Company, Inc. made a general assignment for the benefit of creditors on May 21, 2026. In that agreement, the company said it was unable to pay its debts in full and had decided to discontinue its business and transfer its assets to an assignee for liquidation. A later public sale notice offered Transcend's trademarks, domain names and social accounts for sale with bids due October 9, 2026; all data, including PHI and PII, was excluded from that brand-asset sale. As of October 12, we found no public buyer announcement, and Transcend's current site was still live and selling its Starter Package without a sale notice.
Here's what that means in plain English.
What an assignment for the benefit of creditors is. In Transcend's signed May 21 agreement, the company transferred its assets to TCI (ABC), LLC as assignee so the estate could be liquidated and proceeds distributed to creditors. That process is different from a federal bankruptcy filing.
What's for sale — and what isn't. The public brand-asset sale notice lists trademarks, social media accounts and domain names. It says all data, including PHI and PII, is excluded. The seller is TCI (ABC), LLC, acting only as assignee for the benefit of creditors of Transcend Company, Inc.
Where your records live. Transcend says it is a management platform, not a medical practice. Its current privacy notice identifies 1977 MESK PLLC and euVita Medical Group PLLC as participating medical groups, while its December 2025 provider-change letter says RSV Medical patients could remain with RSV or transfer to one of those groups. The sale notice excludes PHI and PII, so a buyer of the listed brand assets does not acquire patient data through that sale.
What could happen next. We can see three realistic paths, and nobody outside the process knows which one is coming:
- A buyer acquires and later uses the Transcend brand assets.
- One or more medical groups continue caring for patients under a different administrative arrangement.
- The brand or some services are discontinued.
Those are possibilities, not announced outcomes.
The earlier provider split. This isn't Transcend's first shake-up. On December 4, 2025, RSV Medical, PLLC (Dr. Richard Veyna) left Transcend's administrative platform. Patients were told they could stay with Dr. Veyna, move to 1977 MESK PLLC or euVita Medical Group PLLC, or leave. The next day, December 5, 2025, RSV Medical filed a business lawsuit against Transcend Company in Oakland County Circuit Court in Michigan (case 2025-219400-CB). A lawsuit is a claim, not a finding — but it's one more reason to ask who will be treating you before you pay.
Transcend status log
One more note: Transcend Company is not Transcend Therapeutics, the psychiatric drug developer that agreed to be acquired by Otsuka in 2026. Different company, different business.
Which costs less: Male Excel or Transcend?
Male Excel's published starting-dose injection model comes to about $2,727 for year one before shipping or dose-based increases: a $99 start, a required $99 monthly membership, and injections from $120 a month. Transcend's Starter Package page shows $398 with labs or $199 for a visit with recent labs, while its separate intake form lists a $249 HRT/TRT consult plus $199 comprehensive blood work. Transcend still doesn't publish medication, shipping or follow-up lab prices, so nobody can honestly name a complete-price winner without a patient-specific quote.
Male Excel's bill, line by line
The math: $99 + ($99 × 12) + ($120 × 12) = $2,727.
A few things move that number:
- Billing: testosterone is billed every 60 days, so expect about $240 at a time at the starting dose.
- Your dose: Male Excel says your price changes if your dose changes.
- Cream costs more: it starts at $132 a month instead of $120.
Transcend's bill, line by line
Transcend currently publishes two different start-price paths on its own sites. Its Starter Package product page shows a $199 visit-only option and a $398 labs-plus-visit bundle. Its separate intake form lists an HRT/TRT medical consult at $249 and comprehensive blood work at $199, or $448 before treatment. We found no public explanation reconciling those two price paths, so confirm the exact checkout price before paying.
The trap in Male Excel's own headline
Male Excel's pricing page says treatment runs "as low as $95 a month." That $95 item is Triclozene — a clomiphene-citrate-and-thyroid pill that Male Excel markets as stimulating the body's own testosterone production. It isn't testosterone replacement. Clomiphene is FDA-approved for ovulatory dysfunction in women, so use in men is off-label. The $95 price also doesn't include the required $99 monthly membership.
Real testosterone therapy at Male Excel starts at $120 a month, plus $99 a month.
Transcend's version of the trap is different. It advertises no recurring membership fee, but its current public pages do not disclose what a testosterone prescription, shipping or later lab work would cost. Its Starter Package and intake form also show different pre-treatment price paths.
The break-even lines
Here's the cleanest way to test a Transcend quote against Male Excel's published $2,727 starting-dose subtotal before Male Excel shipping.
How to use it: first confirm which Transcend start price actually applies to you. Then ask for the rest of the first-year bill in writing — medication, supplies, shipping and follow-up labs.
- Below the matching line? Transcend's disclosed-and-quoted first-year total is lower than Male Excel's published starting-dose subtotal before Male Excel shipping.
- Above the line? Male Excel's published starting-dose subtotal is lower before its shipping charge.
- No written quote? You still do not have enough information for a fair price comparison.
This is a comparison tool, not a claim that either provider's final bill is fixed. Male Excel's dose and shipping can change its total, and Transcend's public pricing does not disclose the rest of treatment.
Ask these before paying either company
- What will I pay every month, all in — medicine, supplies, shipping and follow-up labs?
- Is that price for my starting dose, and what happens if my dose changes?
- How often am I billed, and how far ahead?
- Is my testosterone FDA-approved or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it?
- How do I cancel, and what can be refunded?
Price question settled? If a cost you can see up front matters more than chasing the lowest possible number, see Male Excel's current pricing and confirm today's figures before you start.
Male Excel: what you get, what it costs, and who it fits
Male Excel is the better-documented choice: published starting prices, a required membership with unlimited e-visits, a check-in every 60 days, and blood tests at six months. Its site says its hormone medications are compounded and not FDA-approved, its standard testosterone plans include thyroid medicine, and it doesn't serve 11 states. It fits men who value steady clinical contact and a more predictable published bill more than the lowest sticker price.
The quick version:
- About $2,727 for year one at the published starting injection dose, plus shipping and any dose-based increase
- Daily injections under the skin, or twice-daily cream
- Thyroid tablets included in standard plans
- Check-ins every 60 days
- Blood tests at six months for testosterone, estradiol, DHEA, free T3 and PSA
- No contract
- FSA/HSA eligible
- 11 states not served
The tradeoff, straight up
Male Excel does not let you skip the monthly membership. That $99 a month is required for treatment, every month you're a patient. If avoiding a recurring fee is your top priority, a pay-per-visit setup like Transcend's starter model — or your own doctor — fits better.
But the membership is where Male Excel puts your money, and it's why you get things Transcend doesn't put in writing:
-
Unlimited e-visits with your Male Excel provider
-
Unlimited messaging with the support team
-
A scheduled check-in every 60 days
-
Blood tests at six months
-
A 90-day promise: if your symptoms don't improve after 90 days of following the plan, you can ask for your membership fees back
For readers who value ongoing access, that steady contact is the point of the membership. Questions and treatment changes can come up during follow-up, so the extra fee buys a defined care cadence rather than medication alone.
Things to know before you start
These are verified facts from Male Excel's own pages. None is hidden. Each one matters to some readers more than others.
Its testosterone is compounded, not FDA-approved. Male Excel's site says its compounded medicines are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness or quality. If you specifically want an FDA-approved product, start with primary care or urology. More on the difference ↓
Thyroid medicine comes bundled. Standard testosterone plans include desiccated thyroid tablets. Thyroid medicine has its own risks — Male Excel's own safety information covers them. Ask which of your lab results supports adding it, and whether you can decline it.
The shots are daily and go under the skin. Male Excel prescribes once-a-day injections just under the skin with a small insulin-type needle. FDA labeling for testosterone cypionate describes injection into a muscle. Using a medicine differently from its label ("off-label") is legal and common, but ask your provider why this approach fits you.
The guarantee is real, but narrower than the headline. Here's what the terms actually say:
- What's refunded: membership fees only — up to three months, about $297. Medication isn't refunded.
- Who qualifies: new members who follow the plan for 90 days in a row, attend scheduled appointments, and can show they followed it.
- How improvement is judged: by Male Excel's own assessment.
- When to claim: within 30 days after the 90 days end.
- Fine print: Male Excel can change or end the guarantee at any time, though it says changes won't affect members already enrolled under the original terms.
It doesn't serve 11 states. Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Its FAQ was updated in September 2026; some older pages and other websites still list fewer states.
An in-person exam may be required. Male Excel's site says DEA and state laws may require an in-person medical exam for your testosterone plan. Federal telemedicine flexibilities currently run through December 31, 2026, but federal flexibility does not override applicable state law.
Who should skip Male Excel
- Men actively trying to conceive or planning fertility in the near term
- Men who want insurance to pay
- Men who want an FDA-approved product
- Men in one of the 11 excluded states
- Men who want weekly or less frequent dosing
- Men whose top priority is the lowest possible price
What reviewers say
On Trustpilot, Male Excel showed a TrustScore of 4.5 from about 6,600 reviews when we checked in October 2026. Reviews are useful for spotting patterns in service, billing and shipping. They can't tell you whether treatment is safe or how you'll respond.
Does that tradeoff fit you? If ongoing contact with a clinician is worth $99 a month to you, start Male Excel's free online assessment. It's the first step before the $99 consultation, and you'll see whether Male Excel serves your state before you pay.
Transcend: what you get, what's unclear, and who it fits
Transcend sells a lab-first starter, but its public pricing is internally inconsistent: the Starter Package page shows $398 for labs plus a visit, while the intake form lists a $249 HRT/TRT consult plus $199 comprehensive blood work. It advertises no recurring membership fee, but does not publish the cost of testosterone, shipping or follow-up labs, and its brand assets are in a creditor-sale process. For a new patient, that's too many unresolved money and continuity questions for us to recommend it right now.
The quick version:
- Starter Package page: $398 with labs, or $199 with recent labs
- Separate intake form: $249 consult + $199 comprehensive blood work
- No recurring membership fee advertised; confirm your actual billing structure
- Medication price not published
- Care from separate medical groups
- HSA/FSA accepted
- Says it serves all 50 states + DC
What the $398 includes
Transcend says the Labs & Wellness Visit package includes:
- A blood panel of 60+ markers
- A review of your results
- A personalized plan
- Annual wellness visits
- Ongoing access to your care team
The panel it lists includes:
- Hormones: testosterone, free testosterone (the part not bound to proteins in your blood), luteinizing hormone (LH, the signal from your brain that tells your body to make testosterone), estradiol and DHEA
- Prostate: prostate-specific antigen (PSA, a prostate screening marker)
- Blood and metabolism: a complete blood count, a 14-point metabolic panel and cholesterol
- Thyroid: thyroid markers
That's a detailed first look. More markers don't automatically mean better care. A clinician still has to order the right tests for you and read them correctly.
Transcend prefers its own panel. Its FAQ says it typically asks that tests be ordered through Transcend, though it will review recent outside results.
Who your doctor actually is
Transcend calls itself a management platform. Its site says it doesn't provide medical or pharmacy services or employ healthcare providers. Your care comes from a separate medical group: 1977 MESK PLLC (Sunil Kurup, M.D.) or euVita Medical Group PLLC (Kenneth Rice, M.D.), depending on the service and your state. Before you pay, ask which group and which clinician will treat you, then look up their license on your state medical board's website.
What's not public
We couldn't find any of these before payment:
- Your testosterone price
- The exact product, and whether it's FDA-approved or compounded
- The dispensing pharmacy
- Shipping costs
- Follow-up lab costs
- Refund terms for medical care
When Transcend could still make sense
Be fair to Transcend: it can still fit a narrow reader. That's someone who already has a written all-in first-year quote that beats the applicable break-even line, knows which medical group and clinician will provide care, and is comfortable with the unresolved brand-sale outcome. It's also a provider that says it serves states Male Excel currently excludes. If that's you, get every answer in writing first.

Is either one's testosterone FDA-approved?
Male Excel says its hormone medications are compounded by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved. We did not find a current public Transcend page naming the exact testosterone product or whether it would be FDA-approved or compounded. If you want an FDA-approved testosterone product, ask any provider to name the exact product in writing — or start with primary care or urology.
Here's the difference in plain words.
FDA-approved means the FDA reviewed the medicine's safety, effectiveness and manufacturing before it could be sold. Several testosterone products are FDA-approved, including injections, gels and patches.
Compounded means a pharmacy mixed the medicine for an individual patient. Compounded drugs are legal when made under the rules, but they are not FDA-approved, and the FDA hasn't reviewed them for safety, effectiveness or quality.
Neither label makes a product "better" by itself. They're different categories, and you deserve to know which one you're getting.
Three questions to ask either company:
- What exact product and strength would I get?
- Is it FDA-approved or compounded?
- Which pharmacy fills it? You can check its license through your state board of pharmacy.
Why a prescription and monitoring matter. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance in the U.S. That means federal law requires a valid prescription from a licensed clinician. It's not a supplement, and it's not something to buy without medical care.
Which gives you more care: labs, check-ins and clinician access?
Male Excel publishes a clearer routine — a check-in every 60 days, blood tests at six months, and unlimited e-visits. Transcend's current Starter Package describes annual wellness visits and ongoing access to the care team, but it does not publish an equivalent TRT follow-up cadence or follow-up lab cost. On what is publicly documented, Male Excel gives you the more specific ongoing-care schedule.
One gap worth asking Male Excel about
Male Excel's published six-month blood test list doesn't mention hematocrit. Hematocrit is the share of your blood made up of red blood cells, and testosterone can push it up. The Endocrine Society's guideline calls for checking it before treatment and during follow-up. It may well be included — but it isn't on the published list, so ask.
How low testosterone should be confirmed first
Before either company prescribes, you should know how a diagnosis is supposed to work.
The Endocrine Society says hypogonadism (low testosterone from a problem with the testes or the brain's signals to them) should be diagnosed only when two things are true:
- You have symptoms or signs that fit.
- Your testosterone is clearly and consistently low, confirmed by repeat early-morning tests.
The American Urological Association uses a total testosterone below 300 ng/dL on two separate early-morning tests, together with symptoms or signs, as a reasonable cutoff. The Endocrine Society likewise recommends confirming a low result with a repeat morning fasting total testosterone measurement. One number on one day is not a diagnosis.
One unresolved Male Excel testing question: Male Excel's public flow describes an at-home blood-spot test, while the guidelines above are written around repeat morning serum testosterone measurement with accurate assays. We could not verify from its public pages whether every new patient receives a confirmatory early-morning serum testosterone test before a testosterone prescription. Ask that directly before treating the at-home starter test as the whole diagnostic workup.
More here: how low testosterone is diagnosed and how often you need bloodwork on TRT.
Steady check-ins your deciding factor? If having a clinician look at your progress every 60 days matters more than a one-time big panel, check Male Excel's program details and state list before you start.
Can Male Excel or Transcend treat you in your state — and online after 2026?
Male Excel says its providers prescribe hormone treatment in every state except 11. Transcend says it serves all 50 states and DC, but care still depends on the medical group and clinician authorized in your state. Federal rules currently allow qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substances through telemedicine without a prior in-person exam when the required conditions are met, through December 31, 2026. What replaces that temporary rule after that date was not final as of this audit.
State coverage
State lists change. Confirm yours with the company before paying.
The federal telemedicine rule
Testosterone is a controlled substance. A federal law called the Ryan Haight Act normally requires at least one in-person exam before a clinician prescribes controlled medicines online. Since 2020, the DEA and HHS have waived that requirement with temporary extensions. The current one runs through December 31, 2026.
DEA and HHS have proposed a permanent special-registration framework for telemedicine prescribing, but the current primary-source rule we could verify is still the temporary extension through December 31, 2026. We found no final permanent rule in force as of October 12, 2026.
What that means for you: the federal rule doesn't override your state's laws. Male Excel's own site already says an in-person exam may be required depending on DEA and state rules. If you start online TRT now, ask your provider what happens to your prescription on January 1, 2027.
What if you want kids?
If you are actively trying to conceive or planning fertility in the near term, testosterone from either company is the wrong first step. Exogenous testosterone can suppress sperm production, and major guidelines recommend against starting testosterone when near-term fertility is planned. Start with a urologist or reproductive urologist. Clomiphene — the drug in Male Excel's Triclozene — is a different medicine, not TRT, and no option guarantees fertility preservation or recovery.
Here's why. When testosterone comes from a shot or cream, your brain senses there's plenty. It cuts the signals (LH and FSH, or follicle-stimulating hormone) that tell your testes to make both testosterone and sperm. Sperm production — doctors call it spermatogenesis — can drop.
What the guidelines say:
- Endocrine Society: recommends against starting testosterone in men planning fertility in the near term.
- American Urological Association: advises that exogenous testosterone therapy should not be prescribed to men who are currently trying to conceive.
- Male Excel's own safety information: notes that testosterone may lower sperm count.
About Transcend's fertility page. Transcend's site markets "Testosterone Therapy" under a "Boost Your Fertility" heading and talks about solutions to "preserve fertility." That framing doesn't line up with the guidelines above. If fertility is your goal, take that question to a reproductive urologist first.
About clomiphene. Clomiphene is not testosterone. Use in men is off-label, and it should not be presented as TRT or as a guarantee of fertility preservation.

How do I switch from Transcend to Male Excel without a gap?
Don't stop or change testosterone on your own. First get your records and your exact prescription details in writing. If you are considering a new provider, start its intake early enough to allow for records review, labs and a new clinical decision; no new prescriber is required to continue the same drug, dose or schedule.
If your clinician or administrative setup changed during Transcend's transition, you have a practical way to protect continuity without assuming a new provider will prescribe the same plan.
The 5-step switch plan
1. Request your records from your medical group. Not from "Transcend" — from the group that treated you: 1977 MESK PLLC, euVita Medical Group PLLC, or RSV Medical, PLLC. Under HIPAA, you have the right to a copy. The group generally has 30 days to respond, with one possible 30-day extension.
2. Get your current prescription in writing.
- Drug name
- Strength
- Form (shot, cream or other)
- FDA-approved or compounded
- Which pharmacy fills it
3. Know your current supply. Write down how much prescribed medication you have left and your next scheduled refill date. Share that information with the clinician managing your transition rather than changing treatment on your own.
4. Start the new intake early.
- Male Excel's start is a $99 consultation with an at-home test kit.
- Results come back about five business days after its lab gets your kit (company says).
- Build in time for shipping both ways and the clinician visit.
- Ask how it handles patients who are already on testosterone, and whether it will look at your recent labs.
5. Protect your money.
- Before making another large prepayment, get the deliverables, refund terms and responsible medical group in writing.
- Keep every receipt.
- If you're charged for something you didn't receive, federal credit-card billing-error protections generally require written notice to the issuer within 60 days after the first statement containing the disputed charge was sent.
Will your dose stay the same? Nobody can promise that. Your new clinician decides after their own evaluation. Male Excel's plan uses daily injections under the skin, which may be different from what you take now.
For a deeper continuity checklist, see Transcend TRT reviews.
Records organized and considering a switch? Start Male Excel's free online assessment early enough to allow for its own evaluation. Do not assume Male Excel will continue the same prescription or that a new prescription will be issued before your current supply ends.
Not sure Male Excel is your next stop? Find My TRT Path shows you the other care routes worth weighing.
Can you cancel or get a refund?
Male Excel's pricing page says there's no contract and you can cancel anytime. Its separate guarantee may refund the first three months of membership fees if its 90-day adherence and claim conditions are met. Transcend's published refund policy covers online-shop purchases; lab-order cancellation is limited once the requisition is used, and shipping fees are not refundable. We did not find complete public refund terms for Transcend medical care or prescriptions.
Practical tip: know your next billing date before you cancel anything. At Male Excel, the published $120/month starting injection price is billed as a 60-day supply, or about $240 before shipping at that starting dose. Before paying either company, ask how cancellation works — phone, portal or email — and get the answer in writing.
What do Male Excel and Transcend reviews actually tell you?
Reviews help you spot patterns in billing, shipping and communication. They can't prove a treatment is safe or effective, or predict how you'll respond. Male Excel has a large public review record. Transcend's own product page shows a 10-review rating under "thousands of 5-star reviews" marketing, so the two records can't be compared star for star.
Male Excel: a TrustScore of 4.5 from about 6,600 reviews on Trustpilot when we checked in October 2026.
Transcend: its Starter Package page shows "(4.2 stars) • 10 reviews." The same page says "Thousands of 5-star reviews." Treat the second line as marketing.
The athletes in the ads. Transcend promotes ambassadors such as fighters, bodybuilders and athletes. That's paid marketing, not a review.
Don't compare star ratings across different platforms. The sites are different, the reviewer pools are different, and the sample sizes are very different.
What each company says vs what its own pages show
We checked both companies' marketing against their own fine print on October 12, 2026. Including our own partner here is the point: you should be able to trust the rest of this page.
Who should choose neither Male Excel nor Transcend?
Choose neither as your first step if low testosterone hasn't been properly confirmed, you are actively trying to conceive or planning fertility in the near term, you need insurance to pay, you want an FDA-approved product, or your health history needs a specialist. Online convenience only helps once the care route itself is right for you.
Start with primary care or endocrinology if:
- You've never had testosterone tested twice in the early morning.
- You want insurance to cover visits, labs or medicine.
- You want an FDA-approved testosterone product.
- You have a pituitary condition, very abnormal lab results, or symptoms that came on suddenly.
Start with urology or reproductive urology if:
- You are actively trying to conceive or planning fertility in the near term.
- You have prostate problems, a history of prostate or breast cancer, or a high PSA (prostate-specific antigen) result.
Get urgent or emergency care if:
- You have chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden weakness or numbness, or leg swelling with pain, whether or not you take testosterone.
Unsure which applies to you? Use Find My TRT Path to get your personalized action plan. It's educational, not a diagnosis. It helps you see which care route to start with and what to ask.
The five questions that decide Male Excel vs Transcend
Five questions settle this comparison. Does the company serve your state? What's your full 12-month bill? What testing is required, and is it included? Who manages your prescription, and with what product? And does fertility, insurance or your health history mean you should start somewhere else? If you can't get those answers before paying, you don't have enough to choose yet.
- State. Is the company — and the clinician assigned to me — licensed where I live?
- Cost. What will I pay over 12 months, all in?
- Testing. What blood tests come first, which come later, and are they included?
- Medication. What exact product would I get, is it FDA-approved or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it?
- Fit. Do fertility plans, insurance, or my health history mean I should start elsewhere?
Today, Male Excel publishes enough information to answer much of questions 1 and 2 and identifies its compounded treatment model, though shipping, dose-specific final cost and dispensing-pharmacy details still require confirmation. Transcend gives much more detail on question 3 but leaves the full first-year cost and exact testosterone product/pharmacy unresolved before a patient-specific plan.
How we compared Male Excel and Transcend
On October 12, 2026, we read both companies' own pricing, FAQ, product, intake, legal and guarantee pages, the signed Transcend assignment document, the public brand-asset sale notice, court-filed material, and current FDA, DEA/HHS and clinical-guideline sources. We didn't enroll, buy medication or receive treatment from either company, so this is a verified public-source comparison, not a hands-on review.
We follow our published method, How We Review TRT Providers. It keeps four kinds of information separate:
- Verified facts: we read it on an official page and dated it.
- What the company says: stated by the company; we couldn't test it.
- Customer-experience signals: reviews, which show patterns but can't prove safety or results.
- Our editorial conclusions: judgments drawn from the facts above.
We calculate complete cost instead of repeating a teaser price, and we don't give providers numeric scores.

Male Excel vs Transcend FAQ
Is Male Excel better than Transcend?
For new patients in a state Male Excel serves who value predictable published costs and a defined follow-up cadence, Male Excel is the clearer choice. Its starting price components are more visible, and it advertises 60-day reviews. Transcend's brand assets are in a creditor-sale process, its public start pricing is inconsistent across official pages, and its testosterone price isn't public. Neither is the right first step if near-term fertility, insurance-based care, or an FDA-approved product is your priority.
Which is cheaper, Male Excel or Transcend?
Nobody can say for sure, because Transcend doesn't publish its testosterone price and its official pages show more than one start-price path. Male Excel's published starting-dose injection model is about $2,727 in year one before shipping. Against Transcend's $398 Starter Package path, the remaining first-year cost would need to average under about $194 a month to stay below that Male Excel subtotal; other Transcend start prices change the break-even line.
How much is Male Excel per month?
At the published starting injection dose, the recurring components are $219 a month before shipping: a $99 membership plus injections from $120 a month, with medication billed as a 60-day supply. There's also a one-time $99 start that includes the at-home lab test and provider consultation. Your final cost can rise if the prescribed dose changes.
How much does Transcend TRT cost?
Transcend's Starter Package page lists $398 for labs plus a visit or $199 for a visit with recent labs. Its separate intake form lists a $249 HRT/TRT consult plus $199 comprehensive blood work. Transcend doesn't publish what testosterone, shipping or follow-up labs cost after that, so confirm which start price applies before paying.
Is Transcend going out of business?
Transcend Company, Inc. made a general assignment for the benefit of creditors on May 21, 2026. Its trademarks, domain names and social accounts were later offered for sale with bids due October 9, 2026. As of October 12, we found no public buyer announcement. Its consumer site was still live and selling its Starter Package without a notice of the assignment or sale.
What happens to my medical records if Transcend is sold?
The brand-asset sale notice says all data, including PHI and PII, is excluded. Transcend's current privacy materials identify participating medical groups as the custodians of medical information generated through those groups. Request records from the medical group that treated you or follow the record-request instructions in its privacy notice.
Is Male Excel legit?
Male Excel currently operates an active U.S. telehealth site under Excel Medical and publishes its pricing components, state exclusions and guarantee terms. That supports that it is an operating commercial service; it does not by itself establish that the program is right for you. Fit still depends on your state, fertility plans, health history and whether you want a compounded product.
Is Male Excel's testosterone FDA-approved?
No. Male Excel's site says its compounded medicines are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved. Ask for your exact product in writing.
Does Transcend use compounded testosterone?
Transcend doesn't say before you pay. Ask for the exact product, whether it's FDA-approved or compounded, and the dispensing pharmacy in writing.
What states does Male Excel not serve?
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, per its FAQ as of October 2026.
Does Male Excel or Transcend take insurance?
Neither company says it bills health insurance. Both say HSA/FSA payment is accepted. Transcend says it can provide invoices and lab requisitions but does not provide procedure or diagnostic codes because it operates on a direct-pay basis; do not assume out-of-network reimbursement without checking your plan.
Why does Male Excel include thyroid medicine?
Male Excel's standard testosterone plans include desiccated thyroid tablets, which the company says support its protocol. Thyroid medicine has separate safety considerations. Ask your clinician why it is being recommended for you and whether a testosterone-only plan is available.
Why does Male Excel use daily injections?
Male Excel advertises small daily subcutaneous injections. Current FDA labeling for approved testosterone cypionate injection products lists the intramuscular route, so subcutaneous use of testosterone cypionate is outside that labeled route. Ask the prescribing clinician to explain the product and route being recommended for you.
Is Triclozene the same as TRT?
No. Male Excel describes Triclozene as a clomiphene-citrate-and-thyroid pill. Clomiphene is not testosterone, and use in men is off-label. It should not be compared with testosterone replacement as if it were the same treatment.
Can I switch from Transcend to Male Excel?
You can apply to Male Excel if you live in a state it serves, but a switch is not guaranteed. Get your records and prescription details first and start the new evaluation early enough for records review and labs. Male Excel will make its own clinical decision before prescribing and may not continue the same product, dose or schedule.
Can I get a refund from Male Excel?
Male Excel's guarantee refunds up to three months of membership fees if your symptoms don't improve after 90 days of following the plan, with documented adherence. You must claim within 30 days after the 90 days end. Medication isn't covered.
Is either one right if I want kids?
Not as the first step when you are actively trying to conceive or planning fertility in the near term. Exogenous testosterone can suppress sperm production, and major guidelines recommend against starting testosterone in that situation. See a urologist or reproductive urologist first.
Can I still get TRT online after December 31, 2026?
Current federal flexibilities allow qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substances through telemedicine without a prior in-person exam when required conditions are met through December 31, 2026. State law still applies. We found no final permanent replacement rule in force as of October 12, so ask your provider what will happen if the federal framework changes in 2027.
Male Excel vs Transcend: our final call
Male Excel is our pick for men in a state it serves who want more of their starting and recurring cost visible up front and a clearly published follow-up cadence. Transcend is hard to recommend to new patients while its brand assets are in a creditor-sale process, its official pages show conflicting pre-treatment price paths, and its testosterone price remains undisclosed. If diagnosis, near-term fertility, insurance or an FDA-approved product is your real question, choose neither yet.
Pick Male Excel if a more predictable published starting bill, unlimited e-visits and a check-in every 60 days are what you want — and you're comfortable with a compounded product, shipping/dose variability and the $99 monthly membership.
Hold off on Transcend unless you have a written all-in first-year quote, know which current start-price path applies, and have a clear answer on which medical group and clinician will treat you during the creditor-sale process.
Pick neither yet if your real need is a diagnosis, fertility care, insurance coverage, an FDA-approved product, or a specialist.
Sounds like Male Excel fits? Start Male Excel's free online assessment and check that it serves your state. The assessment comes before the paid $99 lab/consult step, and a licensed clinician — not the assessment — makes the treatment decision.
