Marek Health TRT Cost: What the $299 Fee Leaves Out

Marek Health TRT cost starts with an advertised $299 fee, not a complete monthly treatment price. Labs and prescriptions cost extra, and your lab order, follow-up plan, and medication change the total.

Marek Health TRT cost starts with an advertised $299 fee, not a complete monthly treatment price. Its FAQ says labs and prescriptions cost extra. Marek may fit adults seeking broad testing and coaching, but not someone who needs a fixed all-in bill before paying. Your lab order, follow-up plan, and medication change the total.1

Best for: someone who wants broad bloodwork and coaching, has discussed the testing needed with a clinician, and can budget for separate services.

Not for you if: you need a firm, complete treatment price before paying and Marek has not supplied one. Or you cannot absorb the cost of testing if the answer turns out to be no.

Start with a doctor, not a purchase, if: you and your partner are trying to conceive soon or might be. Testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production. That single fact changes the whole plan, and it belongs in a conversation with a urologist or reproductive urologist before you pay any telehealth platform a dollar.23

This guide covers U.S. adult men considering evaluation for testosterone deficiency. It does not apply the same clinical framework to gender-affirming care, women, adolescents, or nonmedical testosterone use.

Marek Health TRT cost: what charges make up the bill?

Marek's advertised starting fee is separate from required labs and prescriptions. A complete quote also needs the price and timing of follow-up care, shipping, supplies, and any in-person examination required for your plan.1

What changes that number: which lab panel you buy, whether your provider orders a second confirming blood draw, what you're prescribed, and where you live. A retail panel price is not a complete treatment quote.

The full price ledger

These are publicly displayed prices and provider-stated terms, not a completed checkout or an individual treatment quote. “Not confirmed” means the current public material we could inspect did not settle that item; it does not mean the charge is zero.

What you're buying Published price What the price does—and does not—establish
Starting fee / membership $299 advertised; another button on the same page says $299.99 Marek describes a one-time fee and a credit toward a provider visit. Confirm the payable amount, included visits, and any remaining balance.1
Clinician-ordered entry lab panel Get your exact quote Required labs are excluded from the starting fee. Retail panel prices below are not proof of your required clinical minimum.4
Essential Lab Panel $150 A retail lab product, not enrollment or a prescription. Its treatment-requirements field was blank when checked.5
Base Lab Panel $250 A retail lab product. Its treatment-requirements field was also blank; do not assume it starts the care program.6
Testosterone Monitoring Panel $300 A separately sold monitoring panel. Its page says it does not meet treatment requirements for entry.7
Total Health Panel – Comprehensive From $495 in the collection; $595 for the displayed Male / 45-minute lab-review selection Identify the exact selection. The review is with a health coach, not a separate prescribing consultation.89
Pre-TRT Panel $595 Marek lists 80+ biomarkers and a 45-minute health-coach review. It says the panel meets treatment requirements; that is not clinical approval for TRT.10
Total Health Panel – Complete From $895 in the collection; $995 for the displayed Male / 45-minute lab-review selection The lower collection price and the selected review-inclusive price are not interchangeable.811
Testosterone Foundation Panel $1,095 Lists blood testing plus androgen-receptor CAG-repeat genetic analysis. Do not add a second genetic-test charge for the same included service.12
Total Health Panel – Executive $1,950 A broader retail panel, not a required upgrade established by this guide.13
Optional genetic tests, supplements, or other add-ons Itemized quote needed Keep optional purchases separate from required care. The Foundation panel already lists genetic testing.12
Blood draw fee Included in expert-built panels, according to the product FAQ; $10 for custom panels or individual tests A separate banner advertises free lab draws on orders over $199. Confirm the final draw charge for your exact order.5
Missed appointment or late rescheduling Current charge not confirmed Ask for the fee and notice period before booking.
In-person physical examination Current requirement and price not confirmed Ask who must perform it, how recent it must be, and whether it must be repeated. Include an outside clinician's bill if applicable.
Testosterone or other prescribed medication No itemized medication price found in the Marek pages we could verify Exact product, supply length, pharmacy, and price need a separate quote. Marek says prescriptions are billed separately.1
Follow-up provider visits, shipping, and supplies Complete charges not confirmed Ask which services are included and which generate another bill. Do not treat access to coaching as proof that every medical visit is free.

All prices read directly from Marek Health and Marek Diagnostics pages on September 14, 2026. Prices change. Check the date stamp at the top of this page.

Marek Diagnostics' posted policy says web orders are final and cannot be canceled after purchase; that policy is separate from Marek Health's clinical booking terms.14

Two rows in that table do most of the damage: medication and ongoing care. Without those prices, you can add up the entry costs perfectly and still have no idea what the treatment bill will be.

Who is providing—and billing for—each service?

Keep these roles separate:

  • Marek Health's care program: the advertised provider consultation, coaching, and care coordination.1
  • Marek Diagnostics: the retail lab storefront, with its own posted order terms. Its terms say that using the lab service does not itself establish a patient-provider relationship.15
  • The dispensing pharmacy: the business filling any prescription. Ask which pharmacy will fill your exact product and who collects the payment.
  • An outside clinician, if needed: the person performing a required physical or specialist evaluation. Ask whether that visit is included or billed elsewhere.

These are different service roles, not proof of four unrelated companies or exactly four bills. That's why you need a written quote instead of a headline.

TRT Provider Guide is the independent decision resource for testosterone replacement therapy — helping U.S. adults understand how low testosterone is evaluated, compare online and local care models and providers, and choose the next step that fits their health needs, fertility plans, budget, state, and care preferences, with every material claim verified and dated.

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

The tool is educational and non-diagnostic. It does not decide whether you qualify for treatment.

What does the $299 actually buy—and is it a credit?

Marek describes a one-time membership that includes coaching and clinician consultations. Marek states on two separate pages that required labs, supplements and prescriptions are not included and are billed separately. Its TRT page also says the payment is fully credited toward a provider visit, so ask for the full visit price and any remaining balance.14

Here's why we're asking.

Four statements, one starting payment

These statements appeared on Marek's accessible official landing pages when checked:

Where it appears What Marek publishes What to settle before paying
TRT page's opening price A $299 starting fee Is this the amount due for your intake?
Another button on the TRT page $299.99 Which amount will actually be charged?
TRT page's closing price statement The payment is fully credited toward the provider visit What is the full visit price, and does any balance remain?
FAQs on the TRT and how-it-works pages A one-time membership described as giving lifetime access, including coaching and clinician consultations Which future services are included, and does anything renew?

Sources: Marek's TRT page and how-it-works page, checked September 14, 2026.

A credit toward a visit is not, by itself, the full price of that visit. It could cover the whole charge or only part of it. We could not resolve which it is from public pages, and we're not going to guess.

So put it at the top of your list: “Is the $299 the full cost of my intake and clinician consultation, or a deposit against a larger exam fee? If there's a balance, how much is it and when is it due?” Get the answer in writing. It takes one email.

Ask whether anything renews. “One-time” should describe the fee, not leave you guessing about the price of future care.

Are the labs included? The marketing box and FAQ disagree.

This one matters because it changes the entry bill by the price of your lab order.

What you're reading What it says about testing How to use it
How-it-works marketing box Lists “Hormone Testing” beneath “Includes Everything You Need” Do not treat the box as a complete price disclosure.
FAQ on that same page Required labs are excluded from the membership fee and billed separately Budget labs separately unless your written offer explicitly includes them.
TRT landing-page FAQ Also excludes required labs, supplements, and prescriptions Ask for the exact lab price and any member discount.

Sources: Marek's official how-it-works and TRT pages.41

The explicit fee exclusions are the useful budgeting detail. But screenshot the page you were reading when you decided to buy, and get your specific lab number in writing before you pay for a panel. That's not paranoia — that's just how you'd handle a purchase where the seller's own pages disagree.

The how-it-works page advertises a 45-minute medical-provider consultation. Separately, the 45-minute lab review attached to some Marek Diagnostics panels is a session with a health coach, not a prescriber. Those are two different appointments. Don't count one as the other.49

A discount is not the same as a lower total

Ask which charge a promotion applies to, whether it changes any commitment, and whether it can be used with a member discount. Get the final price in writing rather than building your budget around an untested code.

No promotional discount is included in the calculations below. A discount on the intake does not settle the price of medication or follow-up care.

What do Marek Health's labs actually cost?

Marek Diagnostics panels run from $150 for the Essential Lab Panel up to $1,950 for the Total Health Panel – Executive. The TRT-specific Pre-TRT Panel is $595, with 80+ biomarkers listed by Marek. But a retail panel's price is not proof of the minimum lab order your clinician will require.161310

The trap in the price ladder

You can buy a $150 Essential Lab Panel. That does not mean you have bought entry into Guided Optimization or completed the testing needed for a testosterone-deficiency diagnosis.5152

Marek marks the Pre-TRT and Comprehensive panels as meeting treatment requirements. On the Essential and Base pages we checked, that field was blank—not an affirmative yes. Even a “yes” describes a panel's connection to the program, not a promise that a clinician will prescribe.10956

So ask Marek to approve the exact panel for your intake before buying it. Do not buy a cheap panel, assume it counts, and discover afterward that another order is needed.

What the $595 panel actually measures

The Pre-TRT Panel has a broad published test list. Its listed methods and contents are useful things to compare, but they do not establish that Marek provides better care than every lower-priced program.10

Marek lists, among its claimed 80+ biomarkers:

  • Total testosterone by LC/MS. Total testosterone is all the testosterone in your blood. LC/MS uses liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry to measure it; the listed method is not, by itself, independent proof of this lab's performance.
  • Free testosterone by equilibrium dialysis. Free testosterone is the small fraction not bound to proteins. Equilibrium dialysis is a guideline-supported way to measure it when a free-testosterone result is needed.
  • SHBG, or sex hormone-binding globulin. This protein binds testosterone and can affect how a clinician interprets total and free testosterone.
  • LH and FSH. These hormones help a clinician distinguish a testicular problem from a pituitary or hypothalamic problem. They do not find every possible cause on their own.
  • A complete blood count. This includes hematocrit, the percentage of your blood made up of red cells. Testosterone can push it up, so a baseline matters.
  • ApoB, lipoprotein(a), hs-CRP, thyroid tests including TPO antibodies, iron studies, fasting insulin, HbA1c, and vitamin D. These cover other health questions beyond testosterone alone.1017

The Endocrine Society supports accurate testosterone assays and, when indicated, free testosterone measured by equilibrium dialysis or calculated accurately from total testosterone, SHBG, and albumin. You do not need to assume that every patient needs the biggest panel or that an accurate calculated result is inferior care.17

One omission to check: PSA is not named in the Pre-TRT Panel's published contents we inspected. It is named on the Comprehensive and Testosterone Monitoring pages. Ask whether your clinician wants prostate testing and whether your particular order includes it; do not assume that “80+” means every relevant test is present.1097

A panel can give a clinician evidence to investigate symptoms. It cannot promise to find the cause of fatigue, and a normal result does not rule out every condition. The evaluation still includes your symptoms, history, examination when needed, and follow-up—not just the number of markers.218

How the blood draw and results work

The Pre-TRT product page specifies a blood sample, fasting for 8–12 hours, a Quest draw location, and emailed results. Follow the actual order's preparation instructions and ask about appropriate morning timing for diagnostic testosterone testing.102

Marek's clinical landing page describes a provider-ordered route through Quest or Labcorp and possible at-home phlebotomy. The retail storefront's process describes Quest. Confirm which route applies to your order, including any extra fee for a home draw.110

And expect to wait. The clinical landing page quotes 3–5 business days for results, while the retail product page says testing typically takes up to 14 business days and elsewhere describes about two weeks. These are provider estimates, not a guaranteed treatment-start date.110

For the clinical questions behind each test, see our TRT blood-test guide.

Which costs can still sit outside the starting price?

The costs to settle next are repeat diagnostic testing, ongoing monitoring, provider visits, medication, and any required physical examination. None should be counted as free just because its price is absent from the starting offer.

The in-person physical: get the current requirement in writing

Before paying, ask Marek whether your plan requires an outside physical, who may perform it, how recent it must be, what form is needed, and how often it must be repeated. We could not independently confirm Marek's current physical-exam policy during this check.

If an outside exam is required, call your own doctor's office or a local clinic and ask what that specific examination costs, then add it to your first-year budget. We're not going to invent a number for you.

Federal rules are a separate question. As checked September 14, 2026, DEA and HHS's fourth temporary extension runs through December 31, 2026. It permits qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe Schedule II–V controlled medications through audio-video telemedicine without a prior in-person evaluation, subject to the rule and other applicable federal and state requirements.1920

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. The federal extension does not erase state rules or a provider's own examination requirements. An outside physical is not proof that a program will satisfy whatever rules apply after the extension.2119

Can your existing labs count?

We could not confirm the current outside-lab acceptance rule. Ask Marek which existing results, dates, methods, and remaining tests it will accept before paying for a new panel.

Do not assume that an old result counts, but do not assume it is useless either. Ask for an itemized list of only the testing the clinician still requires. Even accepted prior labs may not replace a repeat diagnostic measurement or a current safety check.2

The second draw the guideline asks for

This is a cost driver worth pricing before the first draw.

The Endocrine Society recommends diagnosing testosterone deficiency only when compatible symptoms or signs accompany consistently low results, with repeat morning fasting total-testosterone testing to confirm. One number on one morning isn't a diagnosis. A cutoff such as 300 ng/dL is not a universal diagnosis by itself.217

A single lab-panel purchase does not establish that two separate morning measurements are included. The clinician determines the appropriate workup; repeat confirmation should not be presented as an optional shortcut when establishing low testosterone.2

The $300 Testosterone Monitoring Panel is a retail product—not a verified minimum charge for a confirming test. A repeat order may contain different tests and have a different price. Ask before you buy the first panel: “If my result comes back low, is a confirming early-morning draw part of the plan, and what does it cost?”7

The medication price you can't see in this comparison

Marek says prescriptions are billed separately, but we did not find an itemized testosterone price in the public Marek pages we could verify. That does not establish that Marek will refuse to quote it before payment, or that creating an account reveals every price.1

Ask for a written price for the clinician-discussed options before committing to ongoing care. The quote should identify the exact medication, treatment format, amount supplied, billing interval, shipping, supplies, and dispensing pharmacy. A medication name without those details is not a usable refill budget.

Marek's TRT page describes injections and topical cream, but it does not establish the manufacturer or approval status of the exact product you would receive.1

Follow-ups, support, and refills

Marek's how-it-works page advertises year-round coach access and quarterly follow-up consultations. The $300 retail monitoring-panel page suggests quarterly testing. Neither statement establishes a universal first-year schedule or an all-inclusive follow-up price for your clinical plan.47

Ask for the planned visit and testing dates, who reviews each result, how you reach the prescribing clinician, the refill-request deadline, and what happens when a result or shipment is delayed. Confirm when a coach can help and when the clinician must respond; access to one is not the same as access to the other.

For an existing patient facing a delayed refill, contact the current prescriber and pharmacy about continuity of care rather than making your own medication changes. A transfer may require another evaluation and more testing; do not assume that switching saves money immediately.

What could your first-year bill look like?

The three examples below show how published entry and retail lab prices add up under stated assumptions. They are fee-and-lab subtotals, not complete first-year treatment prices, required minimums, or quotes; medication and any other required charges still need to be added.

How we counted. We start the clock at your first payment and stop the day before its 12-month anniversary. For these examples only, assume one $299 starting payment, one selected entry panel, and two $300 monitoring panels paid within that window. That is an arithmetic example, not a recommendation for three draws or a verified Marek care schedule.18107

Illustrative build Starting payment Entry-panel price used Assumed monitoring purchases Fee + lab subtotal
Comprehensive collection starting-price example $299 $495 2 × $300 $1,394
Pre-TRT Panel example $299 $595 2 × $300 $1,494
Complete collection starting-price example $299 $895 2 × $300 $1,794

The collection's starting prices do not specify the exact selection in this calculation. Using the displayed Male / 45-minute lab-review prices instead makes the Comprehensive example $1,494 and the Complete example $1,894. Do not add a second coach-review charge for a review already included in your panel.911

What changes the arithmetic: a $299.99 starting payment would add $0.99. One more $300 monitoring-panel purchase would add $300, while a differently priced clinical order changes the model by its actual amount. The dates your clinician sets—not this example—determine which payments fall in year one.

Then add, on top of the relevant row:

  • Medication, shipping, and supplies at the quoted amount and refill interval.
  • A confirming diagnostic draw or other required tests, if not already included in the quote.
  • Any required physical, provider-visit balance, and separately billed follow-ups.
  • Optional add-ons and any appointment charges you actually incur.

Do not count the starting payment twice if it is credited toward a visit. Count the payment first and only the remaining balance later.

The $299 is not the cost of a year of TRT. Labs and medication are separate. Until those prices are on your quote, you don't have a total.

That's not an insult. For some men it's exactly the right trade. It just isn't a fixed-price treatment subscription.

For year two: remove an entry charge only after Marek confirms it will not repeat. Keep the actual ongoing visits, labs, prescriptions, physicals, supplies, and shipping. Divide a complete annual budget by 12 for a monthly budgeting equivalent—not to suggest that Marek bills that amount each month.

What can't you get back—and how do you cancel?

Marek Diagnostics' posted policy says web orders are final and cannot be canceled once placed. We could not independently confirm the current clinical intake refund terms, so do not apply the lab storefront's policy to every Marek Health charge or assume the intake is refundable.14

The lab order is the documented financial risk

The diagnostics policy does not promise a refund if treatment is not recommended. Its wording applies when the order is placed, not only after your blood has been drawn.14

But you should understand what it means for you specifically. The entire point of a proper pre-treatment workup is that the answer might be no. Buying testing does not guarantee a prescription.215

You do keep something real: the product page says your results are emailed to you. Save those results and discuss them with your clinician. Do not assume another program will accept them instead of its own required testing.10

You just need to walk in knowing which money is spent when you spend it.

Cancel the right service—and ask for your records

For a lab order, the posted contact is support@marekdiagnostics.com. For clinical-care questions, Marek's TRT page lists Info@MarekHealth.com. Keep the order number and any written response.141

Before clinical enrollment, get the cancellation method and deadline, the treatment of pending prescription orders, any notice fee, and the process for stopping future charges. Ask separately how to obtain your laboratory results, visit notes, and prescription history, including any permitted records fee. We did not test cancellation or medical-record access.

Does Taurus remove this risk?

Not on the strength of the offer page alone. Taurus advertises $49 for a blood test and consultation, then $149 per month if approved. The offer says an ineligible patient will be refunded, but its separate refund policy limits some refunds to remaining subscription charges and keeps fees for services already rendered payable.2223

Its 90-day satisfaction offer excludes lab and pharmacy fees. And its general terms describe a $17.99 recurring fee per billing period unless the purchase terms say otherwise. Get the exact offer's total and refund scope in writing; do not treat it as an unconditional money-back alternative. Taurus's refund policy also requires cancellation at least 72 hours before the next billing date to avoid that next charge.222423

If refund risk is the thing stopping you: check the Taurus price and refund breakdown before comparing its offer with Marek. This is a comparison step, not a promise that Taurus is the right clinical fit.

Can insurance, an HSA, or an FSA pay for Marek?

Marek Health says it does not process insurance claims, and Marek Diagnostics describes its testing service as cash-pay. The lab store offers TrueMed checkout for HSA/FSA funds, but payment acceptance is not a guarantee that every purchase is a qualified medical expense.152526

Billing, reimbursement and tax treatment are three different questions.

Get the paperwork before counting on reimbursement. Ask Marek whether it can supply an itemized receipt, the relevant procedure and diagnosis codes, and a Letter of Medical Necessity when one is needed. We could not confirm its current policy on CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, or that letter.

So don't assume the money is recoverable because a website says “HSA/FSA eligible.” Call your plan administrator first and ask what documentation they require for the exact service. Then decide. IRS guidance requires records supporting qualified HSA expenses, and expenses merely beneficial to general health are not automatically qualified medical care.2526

If insurance coverage is the deciding factor for you, start with your plan's clinician network and ask about evaluation, covered testing, and FDA-approved testosterone products on its formulary. Confirm visit coverage and drug coverage separately before choosing a cash-pay program.

Can you use Marek from your state? Four questions, not one

Marek Diagnostics posts lab-order restrictions and warnings affecting New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Those notices concern its lab ordering and billing process; they do not, by themselves, prove whether Marek's clinical program can treat you.1014

State access is actually four separate questions, and a nationwide marketing claim doesn't resolve any of them:

  1. Can the clinical program serve you where you'll be sitting during the visit?
  2. Can the lab process your specific order at a draw site near you?
  3. Can the dispensing pharmacy ship your specific medication to your address?
  4. What money is non-refundable if any of the above turns out to be no?

Here's what Marek Diagnostics actually posts, and the list is not the same in both places:

Where the warning appears States named What the provider says
Product-page FAQ NY, NJ, RI Quest services ordered through the platform are restricted for residents of these states; checkout should prevent restricted orders.
Refund policy NY, NJ, MA, RI Certain billing arrangements may lead a facility to refuse the blood draw. The policy warns that web sales are non-refundable and mentions possible out-of-state travel.

Sources: the Pre-TRT product FAQ and the separately posted diagnostics refund policy.1014

Massachusetts is absent from that product-page FAQ's three-state list but present in the refund policy. Check both, not just the product description.

This is a lab-vendor billing warning, not a statement that Marek's clinical TRT program is unavailable in those states. We could not confirm which lab-ordering route applies to a clinical enrollee in those four states. Marek's own policy raises the possibility of travelling out of state to get drawn. We're reporting that it says so. We're not suggesting you do it.

If you live in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts or Rhode Island: email Marek before you pay anything and get written confirmation that a draw site near you will accept your order. Save the reply.

In any state, ask for the treating clinician's name and authority to provide care where you will be during the visit, plus the dispensing pharmacy's identity. State practice rules still apply to telehealth. Do not mistake a national website for confirmed appointment or shipping availability.27

How does Marek compare with a standard online TRT program?

Marek's example subtotals above exclude medication and other unpriced services, so they cannot be compared as complete treatment bills. Male Excel and Taurus publish different starting-price structures, but both still have conditions that matter before you call either cheaper or more predictable.282224

This comparison is for readers who have decided Marek's separately priced model may not fit. It is not a ranking of clinical quality or an endorsement based on panel size.

Sources checked September 14, 2026: Marek's official pages and retail listings; Male Excel's pricing, homepage, FAQ, general terms, and guarantee; Taurus's offer, terms, and refund policy. These are published terms, not completed patient quotes.1102829303132222423

The Male Excel figure is a 12-month budgeting equivalent, not a dated cash-flow statement. Its medication pricing uses a monthly equivalent for a 60-day supply and says it bills every other month. Ask for actual charge dates and amounts; six 60-day supplies cover 360 days, not a full 365-day year.28

A published price structure can make budgeting easier, but an entry price or annualized example is not the same thing as a complete quote. That's the trade, stated as plainly as we can put it.

The honest problem with the one we get paid for

Male Excel is a commercial partner, so here's the thing we'd want told to us.

Male Excel's starter kit is not a full safety or diagnostic workup. Its published five-marker finger-prick list is total testosterone, estradiol, DHEA-S, Free T3, and PSA. That list does not include hematocrit, LH, FSH, SHBG, or free testosterone. Ask how those needs and repeat morning confirmation are handled when appropriate.292

But it would also be wrong to say Male Excel never offers deeper testing. Its current site advertises a member-only 54-biomarker 360 Blood Panel, along with ongoing checks. Ask whether that panel is included for you and when; a later panel does not automatically fill every gap before treatment begins.29

The useful price distinction survives: Male Excel advertises a $99 consultation with an initial home test, followed by a required $99 monthly membership and separately priced medication. The membership advertises unlimited e-visits with a medical provider and unlimited messaging with the support team. That is not a promise of unlimited direct messages to the prescriber, free medication, or no future extra charges.3028

One thing to ask either way: Male Excel's standard injection and cream packages list a thyroid tablet. Its homepage says thyroid medication is used when clinically appropriate. Ask the prescriber what condition it would treat in your case, whether it is necessary, and what the package costs without it. Do not treat a bundled thyroid drug as a routine requirement of TRT.2829

State access is another real limitation: Male Excel's current FAQ excludes Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Confirm your own location before paying.30

Male Excel's July 2026 terms say prescriptions use its contracted pharmacies and cannot be sent to a different pharmacy. Its general final-sale rule also means the low entry price is not a risk-free trial; the separate membership guarantee has conditions.3231

Does that sound like the model you were looking for? See Male Excel's fee, medication, and billing breakdown before starting an intake. The lower entry price is a budgeting fact, not evidence that the clinical plan is right for you.

If the depth is the point—and a clinician has explained why the broader testing is useful for you—Marek remains worth comparing. Use the itemized quote rather than a promised saving or marker count to make that call.

One question for whoever you choose

“Is the exact product you're prescribing me FDA-approved or compounded, and which pharmacy is filling it?” Ask for the answer in writing. The drug name, pharmacy name, and approval status are separate details.

FDA-approved testosterone products: approval applies to the specific drug product. An injection or topical product is not automatically FDA-approved just because another product containing testosterone has approval.3334

Compounded testosterone preparations: compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review their safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. Do not describe them as FDA-approved generics or assume equivalence to an approved product.3435

The FDA approves drugs, not pharmacies. Section 503A permits qualifying patient-specific compounding with certain exemptions, including from current good manufacturing practice requirements; it does not exempt a pharmacy from all oversight. Section 503B outsourcing facilities register with FDA and must comply with those manufacturing requirements. FDA can inspect compounders, and registration or inspection is not drug approval.363735

Male Excel identifies its testosterone cream as compounded. Marek's publicly advertised injection and cream choices do not establish the exact product you will receive, and Taurus's product descriptions do not establish an individual prescription's approval status.30122

Non-testosterone treatment: a different hormone-related drug, supplement, or other treatment is not automatically TRT. Keep any such option and its cost separate from testosterone replacement, with the prescriber explaining its purpose, approval or off-label status, and risks. No product should be added just to make a package look complete.

Our treatment-format guide explains the differences to discuss with your clinician.

Who is Marek worth the money for—and who should start elsewhere?

Our judgment is that Marek is worth comparing when broad testing and coaching are priorities and the written quote fits your budget. It is a poor financial fit when required charges remain unresolved or non-refundable testing would create hardship; a complex medical history may call for a specialist rather than a larger retail panel.

If this is you What we'd do
You want broad testing and a clinician has explained why it is useful Compare Marek's itemized quote. The published panels give you something specific to assess, but they do not guarantee a diagnosis or better outcome.
You already have repeated morning results and a completed clinical evaluation Ask your current clinician what care and testing are still needed, then compare online and local costs. Do not assume two results below one cutoff establish suitability for a program.
You and your partner are trying to conceive, or future fertility matters Discuss fertility before TRT. See a urologist or reproductive urologist. Testosterone can suppress sperm production; neither prevention of that effect nor recovery can be promised.2
History of prostate or breast cancer, a recent heart attack or stroke, high hematocrit, or untreated severe sleep apnea Clinical evaluation first. These can change whether treatment is appropriate and what monitoring or specialist care is needed.2
You live in NY, NJ, MA or RI Get written confirmation your draw site will accept the exact order before paying.
You need insurance to cover care Start with your plan's network and drug formulary rather than assuming a cash-pay program will be reimbursed.
Budget is the hard limit Compare complete quotes, including repeat testing and refund limits. Taurus's lower advertised entry price does not resolve its separate fee and refund questions.
You want ongoing e-visits with a published membership charge Review Male Excel's $99 monthly membership plus medication, shipping, testing details, and state exclusions. Do not compare the membership alone with a complete care bill.

Didn't find yourself cleanly in that table? Don't guess with a controlled substance and a large bill. Find My TRT Path organizes educational next steps around testing, fertility, insurance, budget, care setting, and treatment preferences. It does not interpret your labs, decide medical eligibility, or guarantee a prescription.38

How do you check your Marek quote before paying?

Use this worksheet to turn the advertised starting price into an itemized budget. A required charge without a price and schedule means you have a subtotal, not a total; do not enter zero just because the answer is missing.

Print this. Fill it in from the written answers Marek gives you. The references are the public figures checked September 14, 2026; the empty fields are for your own quote, not assumed prices.

How to count it: start the clock at your first payment and stop the day before its 12-month anniversary. Count each payment once. If the intake is credited toward an exam, count the deposit when you pay it and only the remaining balance later—don't count the full exam again.

Charge Public reference or question to settle Your quoted amount Dates / number of charges Required or optional? Refund terms
Starting fee / membership $299 advertised; confirm the $299.99 discrepancy ______ ______ ______ ______
Remaining balance on the provider visit Confirm full visit price and the starting-payment credit ______ ______ ______ ______

Checks before you add it up: every required row has a price; every price has a supply period or service date; any credit is counted once; optional extras are separate; and the refund terms match the business collecting that payment.

The 12 questions to email before you pay

Copy and send. Ask for these answers in writing before you commit to a purchase.

  1. Is the $299 the complete cost of my intake and clinician consultation, or a deposit toward a larger exam fee? If there's a balance, how much and when? Which starting amount applies: $299 or $299.99?
  2. Does anything renew? Is this a one-time fee or an ongoing membership, and which future consultations and coaching services are included?
  3. What is the exact price of the lab panel you'll build for me? Can any existing results count, and is the blood draw included?
  4. Is a confirming second early-morning blood draw part of my plan, and what does it cost? What later lab schedule and prices should I budget for?
  5. For any medication the clinician may consider appropriate, what are the exact product, supply length, refill price, shipping, and included supplies? Please separate FDA-approved products from compounded preparations and non-testosterone options.
  6. Which clinician and dispensing pharmacy would provide my care? Can they serve me where I will be during the visit and ship the specific prescription to my address?
  7. Do I need an in-person physical, how recent must it be, who may perform it, and how often must it be repeated? Is any cost included?
  8. Do follow-up provider consultations carry a fee, or only the coaching calls? How do I reach the prescriber, and how far ahead must I request a refill?
  9. Can a draw site near me process my specific lab order? Please confirm in writing before I pay, including any state-specific restrictions.
  10. If the provider decides I'm not a candidate, what happens to my intake fee and my panel fee? Please identify which refund policy applies to each charge.
  11. How do I cancel, what's the deadline, and what happens to pending refills and my medical records? Can you provide itemized receipts and any documentation my insurer or HSA/FSA administrator needs?
  12. Is there an applicable discount, what charge does it reduce, and what is the final price after it? Please separate required care from optional add-ons.

Send the same list to any other program you're considering. That's the only way you end up comparing the same thing twice.

What we actually verified

This is a public-source cost analysis, not a hands-on review or a patient quote. We checked accessible provider pages and official clinical, drug, tax, and telemedicine sources on September 14, 2026; the limits of that check are part of the findings.

Verified publication details: Marek's advertised $299/$299.99 discrepancy, visit-credit wording, and separate-lab/prescription exclusions; retail panel prices and selected review variants; the diagnostics refund policy and differing state lists; Male Excel's public pricing, starter-test list, broader member-panel description, and state exclusions; and Taurus's offer, extra-fee clause, and refund terms.

Provider-stated, not independently established: panel biomarker counts and assay performance; advertised consultation lengths and testing turnaround; clinician access, laboratory arrangements, and program features. Reading a claim on a provider page confirms that the provider publishes it—not that an independent clinical audit has validated it.

What we could not confirm: Marek's live checkout, current main-site clinical FAQ and refund terms, a complete patient-specific lab requirement, outside-lab acceptance, physical-exam rules, any remaining provider-visit balance, medication prices, refill and shipping charges, or the clinician and pharmacy assigned to an individual patient. Some main-site pages could not be retrieved; we did not treat search summaries as verified checkout terms.

What we did not do: enroll, pay, submit an intake, request a support quote, test cancellation, obtain medical records, or independently check an assigned clinician's or pharmacy's license.

Customer-experience signals: no customer quotation, star rating, or claimed treatment result is used to establish this page's costs or policies.

Editorial conclusions: the fit guidance and budgeting method are our judgments based on the sources and limits shown. The arithmetic examples are our calculations, not figures quoted by Marek.

Frequently asked questions

Marek's starting fee answers only one part of the cost question. These answers separate published prices from the patient-specific details that still need a written quote.

How much does Marek Health cost per month?

Marek describes a one-time starting membership fee rather than a complete monthly TRT package, with labs and prescriptions billed separately. We did not verify one flat monthly treatment price; use your complete quote to calculate a monthly budgeting equivalent.1

Does the $299 include lab work?

Marek's FAQ says required labs are not included. A how-it-works marketing box lists hormone testing among included services, so ask for an itemized offer rather than assuming the box means the lab fee is paid.4

How much are Marek Health's labs?

The retail examples checked run from $150 for Essential to $1,950 for Executive. The Pre-TRT Panel is $595. Those prices do not establish your clinician's required order or the lowest price that will meet your needs.161013

Is the Marek Health intake fee refundable?

We could not independently confirm the current clinical intake refund terms. Marek Diagnostics separately states that web lab orders are final and cannot be canceled once placed; get the intake policy before paying rather than extending the lab rule to a different service.14

Does Marek Health take insurance?

Marek says it does not process insurance claims. Its lab store is cash-pay and offers HSA/FSA payment through TrueMed, subject to the rules for your expense and the documentation you need.1525

Can I use bloodwork from my own doctor?

The current acceptance rule was not confirmed. Ask Marek which existing results it will accept and which tests still need repeating before purchasing another panel.

Do I need an in-person doctor's visit?

That depends on the clinical plan, provider requirements, and applicable rules. Get Marek's current physical-exam requirement in writing; the federal telemedicine extension through December 31, 2026 does not override state requirements or a clinician's need for an examination.1927

Is Marek Health available in my state?

Confirm clinical care, the exact lab order, and pharmacy shipping separately. Marek Diagnostics' product FAQ names NY, NJ, and RI, while its refund warning also names MA; those lab notices are not a verified clinical-program availability map.1014

How much does the testosterone itself cost at Marek Health?

We did not find an itemized medication price in the Marek pages we could verify. Ask for the exact product, supply length, pharmacy, shipping, and refill price; do not assume a public starting fee covers it.1

How long from signing up to starting treatment?

There is no verified universal start date. Marek's clinical page estimates results in 3–5 business days, while the retail lab process says up to 14 business days; repeat testing, the evaluation, appointment availability, and prescription fulfillment can add steps. Treatment is not guaranteed.1102

What's the cheapest way to do Marek?

Get the required clinical order and complete quote first, ask whether existing labs can count, and separate optional extras. Buying the cheapest retail panel does not establish that it meets your intake requirements, and no discounted or minimum complete first-year plan was verified.

Before you go

This page is educational information about what a provider charges. It's not medical advice and it can't tell you whether testosterone therapy is right for you.

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance in the United States and requires a valid prescription and ongoing monitoring by a clinician. Low testosterone is diagnosed by a clinician using symptoms or signs together with consistently low results confirmed on repeat early-morning testing—never by one number, a quiz, or a website.212

Testing and follow-up are part of the care, not optional costs to cut out of the budget. FDA's February 2025 announcement called for removing cardiovascular boxed-warning language and adding blood-pressure warnings. In June 2026, FDA requested further age-related and prostate-safety label changes. Your clinician still needs to assess your risks and use the current label for the exact product.393318

If you're having chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or another urgent symptom, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.40
