Nu Image Medical TRT Alternatives: Where to Get Actual Testosterone Now

The best Nu Image Medical TRT alternatives depend on the medicine and care you need. Nu Image's testosterone listings say "Coming soon"; its $79 offer is enclomiphene, not TRT. Compare Male Excel for its stated provider access and Hone for confirming tests. Fertility, insurance, state access, and an unconfirmed diagnosis can point elsewhere.

Here's the catch most people miss. The lowest number on these websites is rarely what you pay. Once you add the membership, labs, and medicine, the headline prices stop being comparable. The tables below show the math and its limits, side by side, so you know what to confirm before paying.

This page is for you if: you looked at Nu Image for testosterone and hit "Coming soon," you're a current Nu Image patient thinking about leaving, or you want what Nu Image advertised (testosterone, no needles, a low price) from someone who can actually provide it.

This comparison concerns adult men being evaluated or treated for hypogonadism — low testosterone confirmed in a clinical evaluation. Women seeking hormone care, people seeking gender-affirming hormone therapy, and anyone under 18 need care tailored to that context; the male diagnostic cutoff below is not a universal treatment rule. Clinical scope · Gender-affirming care guidance

Start somewhere else if:

  • You want children now or in the future. See a urologist or reproductive urologist before any hormone subscription. Read why below.
  • Low testosterone hasn't been confirmed with symptoms or signs and consistently low results on repeat early-morning blood tests. Get evaluated first. Hone builds in a second test; a primary care doctor can too.
  • You need insurance or a specific FDA-approved product. A local or in-network clinician is usually the better door.

Does Nu Image Medical offer TRT right now?

Answer: Not through a public new-patient purchase path we could verify: on October 13, 2026, its testosterone injection, gel, and rapid-dissolve tablets were marked "Coming soon," with no price. Its Terms of Use, revised July 27, 2026, say its providers do not prescribe DEA controlled substances; testosterone is Schedule III. The priced product on its testosterone treatments page is compounded enclomiphene, which is not testosterone. Product listings · Terms · DEA schedules

Our published September 30 review recorded the earlier findings below. On October 13, 2026, we checked the current provider pages again.

The earlier column is our published editorial record, not an archived capture of Nu Image's site. Current sources: testosterone listings, enclomiphene, terms, and refund policy.

Schedule III means testosterone is a federally controlled prescription drug. Federal rules allow qualifying clinicians to prescribe it through telehealth when federal and state requirements are met. Nu Image's own terms simply say its providers don't.

Why so many people think Nu Image sells TRT

You didn't miss anything. The signals are genuinely mixed:

  • The menu says "Testosterone." It sits right beside weight loss and ED.
  • The enclomiphene buy button runs through a "TRT" program. The link reads enroll?program=trt.
  • A September 9, 2026 press release announced Nu Image is "expanding access to online hormone replacement therapy" in all 50 states. It's a paid placement, and the word testosterone never appears in it. Read the release.
  • The testosterone page displays eight five-star testimonial cards, including accounts of injection kits, gel, and testosterone refills. They sit right next to the three "Coming soon" cards. We did not verify their dates, identities, or authenticity, so they do not establish current new-patient availability.

Sites get built ahead of launches. That's normal. The reviewed pages do not show a current new-patient testosterone purchase path or a launch date.

Will Nu Image launch testosterone soon?

The reviewed pages give no launch date. Ask Nu Image to reconcile any availability answer with its published no-controlled-substances terms before paying. If you specifically want Nu Image, ask it in writing and wait. If you need care now, the rest of this page is for you.

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

Which Nu Image alternative fixes what you actually wanted?

Answer: Start with why you went to Nu Image, not with a brand name. Wanting testosterone itself, no needles, the lowest bill, enclomiphene, insurance, or a refund each points to a different option. The table matches each gap to the alternative that closes it and to that alternative's own catch.

The Nu Image Gap Map

Nu Image Medical TRT alternatives table 3: The Nu Image Gap Map
What you wanted from Nu Image What Nu Image offers (Oct 13, 2026) Who may close the gap That option's own catch
Testosterone itself No current public purchase path verified; terms say providers do not prescribe controlled substances Male Excel, Hone Health, TRT Nation, Cost Plus TRT, or a local clinician Confirm the exact prescription and whether it is FDA-approved or compounded
No needles (Nu Image advertises a gel and a tablet) Listed as "Coming soon" Male Excel or Hone testosterone cream (compounded); an FDA-approved gel or oral capsule from a clinician who prescribes it Testosterone gels and creams can transfer through skin contact
The lowest monthly price Enclomiphene from $79/mo at a 12-month supply Compare TRT Nation's $99.99/mo testosterone rate or Cost Plus TRT's $119/mo new-patient rate These are advertised rates; a complete bill and product fit still need checking
Enclomiphene, without a 12-month supply and no refunds $79/mo tied to a 12-month supply; all sales final Hone (from $42/mo + membership) or Maximus (month-to-month option) Still compounded, still not FDA-approved, still not TRT
A named FDA-approved product The listed testosterone formats and enclomiphene are labeled compounded Your own primary care, urology, or endocrinology clinician Scheduling, separate visit and lab bills, and product-specific coverage
Insurance Pay in full; no insurance claims An in-network clinician plus a covered pharmacy Prior authorization and deductibles still apply
A refund if it doesn't work out All sales final Compare written refund exceptions: Male Excel's guarantee covers qualifying membership fees; Taurus has a medical-disqualification exception with conflicting limits Neither is a blanket medicine-refund promise
Help keeping fertility Enclomiphene, marketed to support natural production A reproductive urologist, not a subscription chosen from a price table No product guarantees fertility

The provider profiles and cost ledger below link each offer to its official source. Product approval and fertility are checked separately against FDA compounding guidance and clinical guidance.

One honest note before you go further. Refund rules vary. Several providers exclude refunds for shipped or dispensed prescriptions; check the written exceptions and commitment rules. The real difference is whether you can see the full cost and the exit rules before you pay. That's what the next table is for.

What do Nu Image alternatives really cost in year one?

Answer: A low monthly rate is not a complete first-year bill. Male Excel's advertised package models come to $2,727 or $2,871 before shipping, but cover six 60-day medicine fills; Hone's lab-and-membership subtotals exclude medicine. Nu Image's $948 supply-price equivalent is for enclomiphene, a different drug, and the remaining options also need their billing terms checked.

We added the published charges used in each model and identify unresolved charges and billing details. An unknown cost is never counted as zero.

The switching ledger

Read the units before comparing the numbers. These are provider-stated prices and our calculations as of October 13, 2026, not complete 365-day cash quotes. The short-term column shows stated assumptions before any conditional refund; it is not a guaranteed bill for leaving on day 90.

How we did the math:

  • Nu Image: $79 × 12 = $948 for the displayed supply-price equivalent. The public pages do not establish when that amount is charged or every required care fee. Offer · Refund policy
  • Male Excel: $99 consult + ($99 × 12 membership payments) + ($240 × six advertised 60-day injection-and-thyroid supplies) = $2,727. Cream uses $264 per fill = $2,871. Six 60-day fills cover 360 days, not 365. Shipping/handling, any tax, price changes, and other charges are extra. Confirm the actual refill calendar and days of supply for a full year. The short-term examples use the consult, three membership payments, and two fills; they do not assume a refund. Pricing · FAQ
  • Hone Plus: $45 starter test + $45 lab confirmation + ($135 × 12) = $1,710 before medicine. Its lab schedule says $50 for confirmation instead, making that model $1,715. The $80 home-confirmation option makes it $1,745. An older retesting FAQ also says clinically needed retesting is included, so confirm which charge applies. These are named scenarios, not a guaranteed price range. Plus plan · Lab schedule · Retesting policy
  • Hone Premium: $65 + $25 + ($155 × 12) = $1,950 before medicine. We have not multiplied the advertised $28 injection price by 12: the product page calls it a monthly starting price, while Plus says per vial. The prescribed quantity, days supplied, and number of billed fills must be known first. Premium plan · Injection offer
  • Taurus: $49 + ($149 × 12) = $1,837 before any unresolved fee. Its Terms list $17.99 per billing period without defining that period. If it applies monthly, it adds $215.88 over twelve payments, making that scenario $2,052.88. Neither scenario is a complete quote. Offer · Terms, sections 6 and 28
  • TRT Nation: ($99.99 × 12) + three $129 panels = $1,586.88. That assumes a baseline panel, a check after 10 weeks, and a further panel six months after the first lab appointment, following its main FAQ. Its other FAQ puts the later check six months after the 10-week check. Confirm your schedule. A 12-month rate calculation does not pay for whole 2.5-month purchases or establish the actual days supplied. The short-term example is ($99.99 × five monthly rate equivalents) + ($129 × two panels) = $757.95. California pricing may vary. Pricing · Main FAQ · Other FAQ · Purchase policy
  • Cost Plus TRT: $119 × 12 = $1,428, an annualized new-patient rate. The provider expressly lists $297.50 upfront for the first 2.5 months, but the later payment calendar and complete further lab charges need confirmation. Transfers pay $178 upfront when bringing all labs, or $238 with initial labs. Those transfer offers are different scenarios. TRT program · Pricing · Terms

Three traps on every TRT price page

  1. "From" means the floor. A dose change can raise your medicine cost.
  2. The membership can cost more than the advertised starting medicine price. Hone's $135 Plus membership exceeds its $28 starting injection price. Male Excel's $99 membership is additional to its $120/$132 medicine-package examples.
  3. Uneven billing. Male Excel ships medicine every 60 days but bills membership monthly. Six 60-day shipments also cover 360 days, not 365.

Write down four numbers before you pay anyone

  1. Due today.
  2. The next charge, and its date.
  3. The full first-year total.
  4. What you'll have spent if you stop at month 3.

This habit works at every company here, including our commercial partners. If a provider won't give you all four in writing, that tells you something. Use our TRT cost guide to organize the charges, including each shipment's quantity and clinician-confirmed days of supply.

Which alternatives prescribe actual testosterone online — and who should pick each?

Answer: Male Excel, Hone Health, Taurus Meds, TRT Nation, and Cost Plus TRT all describe prescribing testosterone online, and a local clinician can prescribe FDA-approved products. They differ in medicine type, price structure, testing steps, state coverage, and exit rules. The fit judgments below compare those published features, not clinical outcomes or guaranteed eligibility.

Male Excel: a dedicated provider and unlimited e-visits, with medicine billed separately

Who it fits: a man whose low testosterone is already confirmed, or who is switching from another clinic, and who wants a daily program with one dedicated provider he can reach as often as he needs.

What Male Excel's own pages say (checked October 13, 2026): Pricing · Homepage · FAQ

  • $99 online consultation, including an at-home hormone test kit
  • $99 a month Medical Membership, required: a dedicated provider, unlimited messaging with the support team, and unlimited e-visits
  • Testosterone cypionate injections from $120 a month, shipped as a 60-day supply and billed every other month, plus shipping
  • Testosterone cream from $132 a month, same 60-day billing
  • Both starting packages include thyroid tablets
  • FSA/HSA eligible. "No contract, cancel anytime." It doesn't bill insurance
  • Medicines are compounded in the U.S. and dispensed by a pharmacy. Its FAQ names Anazao Health and WellDyneRx
  • Serves all states except Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island
  • Its site notes that DEA and state laws may require an in-person exam for your plan

The honest tradeoff: Male Excel does not publish one all-in first-year price. Its injection-and-thyroid example comes to $2,727 under the six-fill model above, before shipping. Hone's separate medicine bill is unresolved, so those figures do not establish the cheapest program. Male Excel does include its stated unlimited e-visits with a dedicated provider in the $99 monthly membership. Male Excel says you can ask about a side effect, a lab result, or a dose question as often as you need, without paying for another e-visit. For a man who wants a steady hand during his first year, that access is the point.

Three things to know before you start:

  • Labs may come after the prescription. Male Excel's homepage says its providers can prescribe based on symptoms and history "before lab results arrive," when clinically appropriate. If low testosterone has not already been properly diagnosed, ask the clinician to confirm symptoms or signs and consistently low results from appropriately timed repeat tests before starting testosterone. Or start with Hone, which builds in a confirming test.
  • Ask about the thyroid tablets. They're in the starting package. Ask what diagnosis supports thyroid treatment and whether a testosterone-only plan is appropriate.
  • Its medicine is compounded, not an FDA-approved finished product. If you need a named FDA-approved product, a local clinician is the better route.

Skip Male Excel if: you live in one of the 11 excluded states, you need insurance, you require an FDA-approved product, or you're trying to have a child soon. Readers in excluded states can go to the Hone and TRT Nation sections below.

Refunds, plainly: prescription sales are final. Male Excel's 90-day guarantee can refund the first three membership fees, not medicine, if symptoms have not improved, for eligible new members who follow the treatment plan through the initial continuous 90 days and submit a claim within the next 30 days. Guarantee terms

Follow-up, refills, and records: its homepage includes 60-day assessments and blood testing every six months. Its FAQ describes a 48-hour response window after the refill reminder before billing and shipping. Ask how cancellation affects both medicine and membership. Its consent allows medical-record copies at a reasonable preparation and delivery cost. FAQ · Consent

Does a dedicated provider with e-visits included sound like what you came to Nu Image for? See Male Excel's current pricing and membership details → Medicine and shipping cost extra. A licensed clinician decides whether treatment fits. No prescription is promised.

Hone Health: best if you want a confirming test and a live doctor before treatment

Who it fits: a man who hasn't fully confirmed low testosterone yet, or who wants a real video visit and a built-in second test before starting testosterone. Its lab and membership charges are itemized above; medicine is additional.

What Hone's Plus plan includes (Plus page updated September 29, 2026): Plan details · Lab schedule

  • $45 at-home blood test measuring eight markers, including LH (luteinizing hormone, a pituitary hormone that signals the testes to make testosterone)
  • A live video visit with a licensed Hone physician to review results
  • A confirming test for TRT patients: the Plus plan lists $45 at a lab or $80 at home; its lab schedule lists $50 at a lab. It repeats total testosterone and checks hematocrit (the share of your blood made of red cells, which testosterone can raise), PSA (a prostate blood test), and prolactin
  • $135 a month membership: medication management, follow-up labs, and follow-up visits, with free shipping
  • Medicine billed separately. The Plus plan lists injections from $28 per vial, while the product page says from $28 a month. Compounded cream and troche are estimated at $60 a month each
  • Hone's product page says its injectable testosterone is compounded and not FDA-approved. Product disclosure

Hone's Premium plan costs $65 for the first test, $25 for the confirming lab test, and $155 a month, with broader lab panels. Premium plan Its Plus plan is offered in 35 states, Premium in 34. Check Hone's state list before you pay for a test.

What to ask: which confirming-test price applies ($45 or $50 appear on different Hone pages), and whether $28 buys a month or a vial at your dose. Ask for the quantity and days supplied with each billed fill.

Follow-up: its published Plus TRT schedule lists labs at months 3, 6, 9, and 12; hematocrit appears in the month-6 and month-12 panels. The clinician may change the schedule. Medicine and membership renew separately. Ask how to export your full chart and lab reports, what it costs, and what access remains after cancellation. Lab schedule · Billing and cancellation

Canceling: Hone's cancellation policy records the request as effective at submission; its Premium page instead says cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Obtain written confirmation of the final charge and access date. It doesn't refund partial months, and it doesn't cancel pending medicine orders automatically. Contact support for those separately. Cancellation policy · Premium wording

Skip Hone if: you need the service to bill insurance or handle prior authorization, or your state isn't on its list. If you require a named FDA-approved product, confirm that exact prescription before paying; the injection reviewed here is compounded. Hone permits use of your own pharmacy, but membership continues and that pharmacy bills medicine separately. Own-pharmacy policy · Insurance policy

If a confirming test and a live doctor visit before treatment sound right, review Hone's Plus testing steps and current fees → Treatment depends on your results and the physician's review.

Taurus Meds: consider it only after it answers two questions in writing

Who it fits: a man who'd rather have blood drawn at a LabCorp or Quest lab and is willing to confirm the exact medicine and all recurring fees before paying.

What its pages say (checked October 13, 2026): a $49 blood test and consultation, with medicine advertised at $149 a month "all inclusive" with "no membership fees." Its refund policy says the first subscription month is charged when intake is completed, with a medical-disqualification refund exception. Confirm how that timing applies to the $49 offer before submitting intake. Refund policy Taurus offers an at-home kit at no extra charge if you live more than 50 miles from a LabCorp or Quest location. Its terms list OpenLoop Health as the partner management organization, and name four partner pharmacies. That does not identify who will prescribe or dispense for you. $49/$149 offer · Blood-test process · Terms

Two conflicts you need resolved first:

  1. Product type. Taurus's homepage says it uses "FDA-approved medications." Its $49 offer page includes compounded-hormone wording but also names "The Excel Advantage HRT program" and repeats injection text under other formats. Those general and conflicting descriptions do not establish the exact product or its FDA status for your prescription. Homepage · $49 offer
  2. The fee. The offer says no membership fees. Section 28 of its terms lists $17.99 per billing period without defining that period. If the fee applies monthly, it adds $215.88 over twelve payments to the $1,837 advertised-payment model. Its application and billing period remain unresolved. Terms

Fair points: Taurus provides a medical-disqualification refund exception. Its policy introduction says full refund, while the later section limits refunds to remaining current-subscription charges and the most recent billing cycle; confirm the refundable charges before paying. You must cancel at least 72 hours before a billing date; a late request can cause another charge. Shipped medicine is nonrefundable, and blood-test fees become nonrefundable on payment when the lab order is submitted. Refund policy · Terms, section 8

Ask before paying: what second diagnostic test is required, which follow-up panels are included, who reviews refill requests, whether your state is served for this medicine, and how to obtain your full record. A complete, consistent TRT-specific answer to those questions was not established by the reviewed pages.

Want a lab draw first? Read Taurus's $49 offer and program details → Before paying, ask it in writing for the exact testosterone product, whether it's FDA-approved or compounded, and every recurring fee.

TRT Nation and Cost Plus TRT: lower advertised rates to check

If price comes first, look here. We'd rather you get the right fit than click a paid link.

  • TRT Nation: $99.99 a month, sold as a 2.5-month minimum purchase. Labs cost $129 each and aren't included. You can submit your own recent labs for review instead. Its main FAQ says medicines come from licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies, and describes labs after 10 weeks, again six months after the first lab visit, then yearly. It serves "the majority" of states and checks eligibility at intake. The alternate FAQ differs on lab timing and accepted outside-lab age, so confirm both. The annualized scenario with three panels is about $1,587; it is not a full-year purchase quote, and California pricing may vary. Refills are requested manually; its policy reserves no refunds or returns. See TRT Nation's pricing · Main FAQ · Cancellation policy.
  • Cost Plus TRT: from $119 a month for new patients and $89 for transferring patients who supply all labs. Its TRT page lists $297.50 upfront for the first 2.5 months for new patients, initial and 10-week follow-up labs, live visits every six months, and supplies and shipping. Transfers pay $178 upfront when bringing all labs or $238 with initial labs. The $1,428 figure is the annualized $119 rate, not a complete 365-day quote. Its exact finished testosterone product, dispensing pharmacy, later refill calendar, and all further lab charges still need confirmation. See Cost Plus TRT's programs and pricing · Additional-charge terms.

Cost Plus TRT's published state list: its consent names Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington — 16 states. Confirm your state and medicine before paying; we did not independently audit each clinician's license. Its terms allow possible limited medication refunds without explaining every condition, and its consent provides record-access rights without a complete public request process. Telehealth consent · Terms.

Your own primary care, urology, or endocrinology clinician: best for insurance or an FDA-approved product

Who it fits: a man with insurance he wants to use, a complex health history, or a need for a named FDA-approved testosterone product.

Coverage gets decided in three places, and each needs its own yes:

  1. The visit and labs: your clinician and lab networks, plus your deductible.
  2. The drug: your plan's formulary (its list of covered medicines), plus any prior authorization.
  3. The pharmacy: whether it's in your plan's network.

The American Urological Association's guideline says that, when possible, clinicians should prescribe commercially made testosterone products rather than compounded ones. That's a conditional recommendation, not a rule, and it applies whether the visit happens online or in person. AUA guideline article, 2018, statement 28

The tradeoff is more scheduling and separate bills. The upside is that you can ask for an exact product and use your coverage. Compare routes on our TRT providers that take insurance and online vs. local TRT pages.

Is there a needle-free alternative to Nu Image's testosterone gel or tablet?

Answer: Yes, but Nu Image's reviewed pages do not show a current new-patient purchase path. Male Excel and Hone offer compounded testosterone cream, and FDA-approved testosterone gels and oral capsules exist through clinicians who prescribe them. Any testosterone you rub on your skin can transfer to partners and children through contact, so ask about precautions before you choose one.

Nu Image's planned "RDT" (rapid-dissolve tablet) and gel were both labeled compounded. A compounded cream from an alternative is also a compounded product. That shared status does not make different formulations interchangeable or establish equal quality, safety, or effectiveness.

Want testosterone without injections? Review Male Excel's cream-and-thyroid pricing → If you live in an excluded state or want an FDA-approved gel, a local clinician is the better path.

What if you wanted Nu Image's enclomiphene, just not on its terms?

Answer: Enclomiphene is not testosterone replacement. It's a pill that can prompt some men's bodies to make more of their own testosterone, and the FDA hasn't approved any enclomiphene product. If you still want it, other online programs sell compounded enclomiphene with shorter commitments, but a clinician should check the cause of your low testosterone first. FDA discussion · Current OPSS drug-status information

If your search for Nu Image testosterone alternatives started with the enclomiphene offer, this section is for you.

Four medicines that often get mixed up

Nu Image Medical TRT alternatives table 6: Four medicines that often get mixed up
Medicine What it does FDA status Is it TRT?
Testosterone Replaces the hormone from outside the body FDA-approved products exist; compounded versions are not approved Yes
Enclomiphene Signals the brain to tell the testes to make more No FDA-approved product No
Clomiphene (Clomid) Similar signal; contains enclomiphene plus another form Approved for ovulation problems in women; use in men is off-label No
hCG Acts like LH and stimulates the testes directly FDA-approved products have specific uses, including selected cases of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (low testosterone caused by deficient pituitary hormone signals) No

Here's why this matters. Enclomiphene's proposed effect depends on the testes being able to respond to hormone signals. If the problem is in the testes themselves (called primary hypogonadism), it may not help. Checking LH and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) is part of how a clinician tells the difference. Endocrine Society guidance

Drug-status sources: Clomid label, Pregnyl hCG label, and FDA compounding guidance. These medicines have different uses and are not substitutes to choose on your own.

Where else to get enclomiphene

Nu Image Medical TRT alternatives table 7: Where else to get enclomiphene
Option Price Commitment Note
Nu Image As low as $79/mo Listed with a 12-month supply; all sales final Confirm how the 12 months are billed before paying
Hone Health From $42/mo + $135/mo membership Monthly Membership includes follow-up labs and visits
Maximus $199.99 monthly; $149.99/mo on 3 months ($449.97); $99.99/mo on 6 or 12 months ($599.94 / $1,199.88) Committed terms can't be ended early or partly refunded Labs separate
TRT Nation $99.99/mo (30-day supply) No multi-month minimum shown on this product page; confirm how its general purchase terms apply Labs $129 each

All of these enclomiphene offers are compounded. None is FDA-approved. And none can promise to protect your fertility. Nu Image · Hone Plus · Maximus pricing · Maximus commitment policy · TRT Nation offers

Maximus's listed prices above exclude labs. Its lab policy accepts qualifying outside results and describes baseline, one-month, three-month, and twelve-month checks, with other testing at the clinician's discretion. Ask which panel and collection method you need: its home-kit descriptions do not consistently establish that the full required panel is included. Lab policy

For athletes and service members: WADA's 2026 list prohibits testosterone and clomiphene; its anti-estrogen rules also cover enclomiphene. Athletes subject to those rules should check their medicine and therapeutic-use-exemption requirements with their anti-doping organization. OPSS lists clomiphene and enclomiphene on the DoD Prohibited List, but tells service members prescribed either drug to consult their military healthcare provider about service-specific rules. Already a Nu Image patient? How to switch without losing money or a step in your care

Answer: Cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal processing date. Nu Image says it won't accept cancellations inside that window, and automatic-billing orders are nonrefundable once dispensed. Request your records and full lab reports first, then ask your new clinic whether it accepts outside labs.

Never stop a medicine because of a billing change. Talk to a clinician first.

The Nu Image exit kit

  1. Find your renewal processing date in your account. That's the date that counts, not your delivery date.
  2. Request your records first. Ask Nu Image and its medical group, Wellness Provider Group, for your chart, your prescriptions, and your full lab reports, including collection date, time, and reference ranges. Nu Image's privacy notice gives you the right to copies; a copy fee may apply. Notice of Privacy Practices
  3. Cancel at least 48 hours ahead. Use the cancel option in your account. Nu Image's terms also list support@nuimagemedical.com. Refund and auto-bill policy
  4. Screenshot the confirmation. If you're charged anyway, reply to that confirmation first.
  5. Line up your new clinician before your last shipment runs out, so a clinician, not a billing date, decides what happens next.

Four questions to ask your new clinic about outside labs

  1. Do you accept outside lab results, and how recent must they be?
  2. Which markers must they include?
  3. What will you require me to repeat anyway?
  4. Will you review my records before charging me for a new panel?

TRT Nation, for example, says you can submit your own labs. Maximus accepts outside labs if they're recent and include the markers it requires.

One important point: moving from Nu Image's enclomiphene to testosterone is a treatment change, not just a new company. Your new clinician decides whether it's right for you.

If you already take testosterone or another hormone treatment, ask the new clinician how it affects the interpretation of your results and what testing is needed. Do not stop treatment on your own to recreate untreated baseline tests. Diagnosis and monitoring guidance

Switching from Nu Image and not sure whether you need testosterone or a better enclomiphene plan? Map your care route and questions with Find My TRT Path →

More help: how to switch TRT providers.

Answer: Yes, when federal and state requirements are met. The current temporary exception allows DEA-registered clinicians to prescribe controlled substances such as testosterone through qualifying audio-video telemedicine without a prior in-person evaluation through December 31, 2026, subject to its conditions. That is not an expiration date for all online TRT; other lawful prescribing pathways can apply. Current federal rule

Nu Image's refusal to prescribe controlled substances is a company policy, not federal law. Other clinicians may prescribe it through telehealth when federal and state requirements are met.

The current no-prior-in-person exception may be replaced or extended; that needs to be checked when you receive care. Before you pay for any long plan, ask one question:

"What happens to my prescription on January 1, 2027, and will I need an in-person exam to continue?"

Male Excel already notes that your plan may require an in-person exam under DEA and state law. Ask each program what applies to your state and care plan.

What if you want kids?

Answer: Testosterone from outside the body can lower or stop sperm production, and recovery after stopping isn't guaranteed. Specialty guidelines advise against testosterone therapy when fertility is being pursued. See a reproductive urologist before choosing any hormone subscription, including enclomiphene, which isn't FDA-approved for fertility.

  • Testosterone can lower sperm counts. How much, and whether counts fully recover after stopping, varies from man to man. Current testosterone label, fertility section
  • The Endocrine Society recommends against starting testosterone therapy in men planning fertility in the near term. Guideline · EAU fertility guidance
  • Enclomiphene, clomiphene, and hCG are sometimes used with fertility in mind. None is a promise.

If future fertility matters to you, this is a specialist decision, not a subscription choice. Ask about a semen analysis and hormone testing to find the cause first. Read more in TRT and fertility.

Do any Nu Image alternatives take insurance, HSA, or FSA?

Answer: Insurance and HSA/FSA payment are different questions: these online programs use cash-pay models, while some allow eligible HSA/FSA spending. Male Excel says its treatment is FSA/HSA eligible; that does not make its membership an insurance benefit. For coverage, use an in-network clinician and check the visit, the drug, and the pharmacy separately.

Nu Image's telehealth consent says you pay in full and won't file insurance claims. Male Excel doesn't bill insurance, and Taurus is cash-pay. Hone also does not bill insurance or handle prior authorization; its own-pharmacy route leaves the pharmacy bill separate. Nu Image consent · Male Excel terms · Taurus terms · Hone insurance policy

An HSA (health savings account) or FSA (flexible spending account) lets you pay qualified medical costs with pre-tax money. Neither is insurance. Whether a membership fee counts as a qualified expense depends on the service, applicable tax rules, and your plan, so check with your account administrator. IRS guidance

Who should not start with any online program yet?

Answer: If low testosterone hasn't been confirmed with symptoms or signs plus consistently low results on repeat early-morning tests, or you have certain health risks, a treatment subscription is the wrong first step. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, or urgent care instead.

How low testosterone is diagnosed:

  • The Endocrine Society says to diagnose it only when a man has symptoms or signs and consistently low testosterone, confirmed with repeat morning, fasting tests using a reliable lab method. Guideline · July 2026 statement
  • The American Urological Association uses total testosterone below 300 ng/dL as a reasonable cutoff, but still requires two separate early-morning tests plus symptoms or signs. 300 by itself is not a diagnosis. AUA guideline article, 2018, statements 1–3
  • Total testosterone is all the testosterone in your blood. Free testosterone is the small part not bound to proteins. A clinician may check both.

Arrange clinician-led evaluation before a treatment subscription if:

  • You want children soon
  • You've had prostate or breast cancer
  • Your hematocrit is already high
  • You have untreated, severe sleep apnea
  • You've had a heart attack or stroke in the past six months
  • You have a known or suspected pituitary or testicular problem, or unexplained lab results
  • You're under 18 — use pediatric or adolescent care rather than this adult-provider comparison

Testosterone can raise blood pressure as well as hematocrit. Ask the clinician how these will be monitored for the exact product prescribed. FDA blood-pressure findings

Use the low-testosterone blood-test guide to prepare questions for that visit.

Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache, sudden vision loss, or stroke symptoms.

How did we check these alternatives?

Answer: On October 13, 2026, we re-read Nu Image's testosterone, enclomiphene, terms, and refund pages and its September 2026 press release. We then checked the current pricing, testing, state, and refund pages for Male Excel, Hone Health, Taurus Meds, TRT Nation, Cost Plus TRT, and Maximus. We didn't enroll, buy, or test a cancellation.

What we actually verified

Date checked: October 13, 2026. The status log also cites our published September 30 review.

Confirmed on the companies' own pages: Nu Image's "Coming soon" testosterone listings, its no-controlled-substances terms, its $79 enclomiphene price with a 12-month supply, and its all-sales-final policy. The published components used in the cost ledger, provider state lists where shown, and the policy wording described here; conflicting prices and terms are identified beside the relevant claims. Finding a statement on a provider's site confirms what it publishes, not that every patient receives that service.

Provider-stated, not independently confirmed: Male Excel's unlimited e-visits and dedicated provider; Hone's live physician visit and lab schedule; Taurus's generic FDA-approved-medication claim; TRT Nation's compounding-pharmacy sourcing. We did not independently verify clinician or pharmacy licenses, individual appointment availability, or service performance.

Could not confirm: when, or whether, Nu Image will launch testosterone; how it bills its 12-month enclomiphene supply; Taurus's exact TRT product and recurring fee; which conflicting Hone test and medicine prices apply; Cost Plus TRT's exact finished product, pharmacy, later refill calendar, and all further lab charges; each patient's prescriber, dispensing pharmacy, eligibility, or final bill. No support answer, completed checkout, or patient experience is claimed.

We follow our published method, How We Review TRT Providers. It keeps four kinds of information separate: verified facts, provider-stated facts, customer-experience signals, and our editorial conclusions. It adds up published charges and marks missing costs instead of treating them as zero. We don't assign numeric scores, and being listed here isn't an endorsement. We did not use testimonials as evidence of treatment quality or current availability. Nu Image's testimonial display is discussed only because it conflicts with the adjacent product status.

Read our editorial standards for how we handle evidence and conflicts. Found something we got wrong? Send it through our corrections page, and we'll check it and update the page.

Nu Image Medical TRT alternatives: FAQ

The main choices turn on the medicine, the testing process, and the full bill. These answers cover the questions most likely to change your next step.

Does Nu Image Medical offer TRT?

No current public new-patient purchase path was verified. As of October 13, 2026, its testosterone injection, gel, and tablets are marked "Coming soon," and its terms say its providers don't prescribe controlled substances. Testosterone is Schedule III. Listings · Terms

What's the best alternative to Nu Image Medical for testosterone?

It depends on what you need. Male Excel fits men who want its stated dedicated provider and unlimited e-visits, with medicine and shipping billed separately. Hone fits men who want a confirming test and a live doctor before treatment. TRT Nation and Cost Plus TRT publish lower advertised testosterone rates, but the complete bills still need checking. An in-network clinician is the starting point for insurance.

Is Nu Image's enclomiphene the same as TRT?

No. TRT supplies testosterone. Enclomiphene is a different pill that signals your body to make more of its own. No enclomiphene product is FDA-approved.

Why does Nu Image show $79 a month under "Testosterone"?

That price is for compounded enclomiphene, listed with a 12-month supply. It isn't testosterone, and it isn't a TRT price.

What's the cheapest real TRT online?

TRT Nation advertises $99.99 a month; Cost Plus TRT lists $119 for new patients and $89 for transfers who bring all labs. These have different minimum purchases and lab rules, so they do not establish the cheapest complete first year. If your insurance covers it, a local clinician may cost less. TRT Nation pricing · Cost Plus TRT pricing

Is there a needle-free alternative to Nu Image testosterone?

Yes. Male Excel and Hone offer compounded testosterone cream. FDA-approved gels and oral capsules are available through clinicians who prescribe them. Ask about skin-transfer precautions for topical products and product-specific monitoring for either route.

Can I get my money back from Nu Image if I switch?

Its policy says all sales are final, even for unused products; automatic-billing orders are nonrefundable once dispensed. For a defective or damaged product, request a replacement through its online form within seven days of receipt and provide proof of purchase. Refund policy

How do I cancel Nu Image Medical?

Cancel through your account at least 48 hours before your renewal processing date, and save the confirmation. Nu Image says it won't accept cancellations inside that window.

Will a new clinic accept my Nu Image lab results?

Some will. Ask how recent the results must be, which markers they need, and what they'll repeat anyway. Request full reports with collection times and reference ranges.

Is Male Excel better than Nu Image?

Male Excel advertises a current testosterone program; Nu Image's reviewed pages do not show a current new-patient purchase path. The real comparison is Male Excel against other TRT programs, and that comes down to cost, state, medicine type, and how much provider access you want.

The current exception for qualifying controlled-substance prescribing without a prior in-person evaluation runs through December 31, 2026. That date does not end all lawful online TRT. Ask any provider which federal and state requirements will apply to your care in 2027. Federal rule

Do these alternatives take insurance?

The prices compared here are cash-pay offers. Male Excel says it's FSA/HSA eligible. For insurance, use an in-network clinician.

Can Find My TRT Path tell me if I qualify?

No. It's an educational tool that maps your situation to a care route and the questions to ask. Only a licensed clinician can diagnose low testosterone or decide on treatment.

Which next step should you take?

Nu Image's reviewed pages show no current new-patient testosterone purchase path or launch date. So match the alternative to the gap you hit.

Male Excel for testosterone with a dedicated provider. Hone for a confirming test and a live doctor first. TRT Nation or Cost Plus TRT to compare lower advertised rates and minimum purchases. A local clinician for insurance or an FDA-approved product. And if fertility or an unconfirmed diagnosis is in the picture, settle that before you pay anyone.

If testosterone with your own provider is what you went to Nu Image for, Male Excel is worth comparing on its stated access model. Its membership, medicine, and shipping are separate charges. Review Male Excel's current pricing and membership →
