The best enclomiphene providers depend on the offer you need: Strut lists $79 for 30 days, Nuform states a single-active-ingredient formula, and Maximus offers longer-term rates. None has a verified lowest complete annual bill here. This comparison is for adults seeking clinician-supervised care, not self-treatment. Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved.1, 2, 3, 4
Educational information, not medical advice. This page has not been medically reviewed. Enclomiphene requires a prescription and clinician supervision.
Best for you if / Not for you if
This comparison is for you if you're an adult man comparing clinician-supervised enclomiphene care, the prescription itself, and the full cash-pay bill.
This is probably not a fit if you want a diagnosis from a price table, guaranteed prescribing, or treatment without evaluation. Near-term fertility plans, unclear lab results, military service, and tested sport need the care checks below.
Now the part nobody tells you: the lowest advertised medication price on this list leaves out a required $135 monthly membership, and at least two companies selling "enclomiphene" offer more than enclomiphene by itself. One of them is a company we have a paid relationship with. We'll show you exactly where that happens, because it's an easy way to pay for something you didn't ask for.5, 6, 7, 1
Which are the best enclomiphene providers to compare?
We compared six published enclomiphene offers and Male Excel's related Triclozene blend. They differ in what you pay, what is in the prescription, and what the fee includes; the table separates published offers from our calculations.
Prices are what each company published on its own website as of September 8, 2026. This is not a lowest-to-highest cost ranking or a medical ranking. The figures below cover different terms and exclude different charges — a cheaper program is not better care.
| Provider | What's in the capsule | Advertised price | What else you pay | What we can calculate | Commitment | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strut | Enclomiphene-only option; tadalafil combinations are separate choices | $79 / 30-day supply | $89 for its listed test kit when needed; repeat testing extra | $948 for 12 fills / 360 days, before labs | 30-day supply offer; cancellation does not undo a processed order | Charged at checkout, before doctor review. The $99–$119 options shown are not simply the same formula at a different price. 1, 8, 9, 10 |
| Maximus | Enclomiphene protocol; testosterone combinations are separate | $99.99/mo equivalent on listed 6- or 12-month terms | Labs separately; confirm any required video-visit fee | $1,199.88 for a 12-month program, before extras | Published 6-month total $599.94; 12-month total $1,199.88. Payment method does not erase the term | Month-to-month is $199.99. Its lab policy conflicts about what its home kit covers. 3, 11, 12 |
| Hims | Enclomiphene-based products; supplements and tadalafil may be added | From $99/mo | Initial testing and any other checkout charges need a matching quote | $990 for 10 months upfront; $1,188 is only a 12-month normalized rate | Plans of 3, 5, or 10 months are listed; the advertised 10-month rate is paid upfront and in full | Do not confuse a monthly equivalent with monthly billing. Current product descriptions do not make “Rx+” an ingredient list. 13, 7 |
| Nuform | Formula T: company states enclomiphene is the sole active ingredient | $288 / 3-month kit; $96/mo equivalent | $170 physician fee; labs listed at $95 or $195 | $1,322 for four kits plus one physician fee, before labs | Kit-based; not a monthly medication subscription | “Annual” fee on Why Nuform and its refund policy; “one time” on its homepage. Confirm renewal and the full testing schedule. 2, 14, 15, 16, 17 |
| Taurus Meds (partner) | Enclomiphene offer; confirm the full formula | From $149/mo | $49 startup; a $17.99 per-billing-period fee appears in general terms | $1,837 starting subtotal, before the unresolved fee | Exact term and payment schedule depend on the selected offer | The product price leaves the extra-fee question unresolved. Confirm whether that fee applies and how often it is billed. 18, 19 |
| Hone Health | Enclomiphene listed separately from testosterone therapy | Medication from $42/mo | $135/mo Plus membership and $45 initial test | $2,169 starting first-year model; not a personal all-in quote | Monthly membership; medication separate | The $42 is medication only. Plus includes scheduled follow-up labs and consultations, but confirm any extra diagnostic testing. 5, 20, 21 |
| Male Excel (partner) | Triclozene — a blend. Its pages disagree about which SERM is included | $95 and $120/mo appear on the same cost page | $99/mo membership, $99 initial test/consult, plus shipping and handling | $2,427 or $2,727 annualized subtotals, using the two published monthly prices, before shipping | Advertises no contract and pause/cancel anytime; that is not a refund promise | Not plain enclomiphene. Both the ingredient and price need a written clarification. 6, 22 |
SERM means selective estrogen receptor modulator — a drug that changes estrogen's effects in different tissues.23
*Reference lane, for context: you can also discuss care through your own clinician and a state-licensed pharmacy rather than an online program. FDA-approved clomiphene products are a different option; their use in men is off-label, and a compounded preparation is not itself FDA-approved. Whether either option fits you is a clinical decision, not a cheaper substitute to choose on your own.*24, 25, 26

TRT Provider Guide is the independent decision resource for testosterone replacement therapy — helping U.S. adults understand how low testosterone is evaluated, compare online and local care models and providers, and choose the next step that fits their health needs, fertility plans, budget, state, and care preferences, with every material claim verified and dated.
What changes the answer:
- Unexplained low testosterone or abnormal LH/FSH results need clinical evaluation, not a subscription chosen from a lab pattern.27, 28
- Drug-tested athletes need an anti-doping review; a prescription alone is not permission. Service members should check with their military healthcare provider.29, 30
- If you and your partner are trying to conceive soon, start with a reproductive urologist or another fertility-aware clinician.25
- Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved for anything. Its compounding status is conditional, not blanket permission for every product or pharmacy.4, 31
Why isn't the right provider the same for every man?
A provider comparison cannot decide whether you need enclomiphene, testosterone, or neither. Clinical evaluation and the kind of care you need come before a subscription.27, 25
The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.
One thing that tool will not do: pick your medication or tell you whether you qualify. Enclomiphene is not testosterone replacement therapy. It's a different drug with a different mechanism and a different regulatory status, and only a clinician who has assessed your symptoms, health history and appropriate labs can decide whether it's appropriate for you.27, 23

What did we actually verify?
What we actually verified — September 8, 2026. We checked the cited public product offers, pricing, lab policies and terms, and did the cost arithmetic ourselves. We read the 2025 review's full-text results and limitations, and checked the medical and regulatory statements against the official sources linked below.
Throughout this page we use five labels, and we don't blur them:
- 🔵 Verified fact — a finding checked against the relevant official record, guideline, label or research paper.
- 📄 Provider-stated — the company says this. We're repeating it with attribution, not independently confirming delivery of the service.
- 🧮 Our calculation — arithmetic we did from published numbers. A subtotal is not a personal quote.
- 💬 Customer-experience signal — what customers report. It can show a pattern. It cannot prove a policy, a safety outcome, or a typical result.
- Our editorial conclusion — a judgment about the documented offer, not a medical score or proof of better outcomes.
What we could not confirm, and are not going to guess at:
- Whether Maximus's at-home kit covers the full required panel or whether you'll need a separate paid draw. Its own pages point both ways.11
- Whether the recurring per-billing-period fee in Taurus's general terms applies to the enclomiphene protocol.19
- Which SERM is actually in Male Excel's Triclozene today. Their two pages disagree.6, 22
- Which pharmacy fills any individual patient's prescription at any of these companies.
- State-by-state availability of each specific product. A company serving your state for one treatment doesn't mean it serves your state for this one.
We did not enrol as patients, take the medication, or time anyone's customer support. We also did not test checkout, cancellation or refill flows, independently verify every treating clinician and pharmacy, or establish product-specific coverage in every state. These are published offers, not personal quotes. Read more about how we work: How We Review TRT Providers and our editorial standards.
Will enclomiphene even work for you?
Enclomiphene blocks estrogen feedback involved in the brain-to-testicle hormone signal, which can raise LH, FSH and testosterone in selected men. A lab pattern alone cannot tell you whether it will work, whether it is appropriate, or what is causing low testosterone.23, 27
Two quick definitions, because everything below depends on them:
- LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) are the two signals your pituitary sends to your testicles. LH tells them to make testosterone. FSH supports sperm production.27, 23
- Hypogonadism means reduced function of the testes, which may affect testosterone production, sperm production, or both.27, 25
Now the fork — these are patterns a clinician investigates, not a way to diagnose yourself:
| Pattern being assessed | What it can suggest | What it means for this comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Repeated low testosterone with low or inappropriately normal LH, interpreted with FSH and the rest of the evaluation | A possible brain/pituitary signaling problem, called secondary hypogonadism | Selected men with secondary or functional hypogonadism were studied. That does not establish an individual reader's eligibility. |
| Repeated low testosterone with elevated LH, interpreted with FSH and other findings | A possible testicular problem, called primary hypogonadism | A drug that increases the signal may have limited benefit. Urology or endocrinology is the better place to resolve the cause. |
This matters more than any price on this page. The 2025 meta-analysis excluded studies that included men with primary hypogonadism. Its results therefore do not establish benefit in that group. 32
If your results haven't been explained to you, you don't yet have enough information to choose treatment from this table. That's not a reason to panic. It's a reason to get the right evaluation before you get a subscription.
One blood test is not a diagnosis
The Endocrine Society's guidance is that diagnosing testosterone deficiency needs symptoms or signs plus consistently low testosterone, confirmed with repeat morning fasting testing and accurate measurements. Not one number. Not one afternoon. Not an online symptom quiz.27
The question worth asking each company is whether its process confirms low testosterone with two appropriate morning measurements before treatment — and what it does if the second result comes back normal. A kit containing two samples is not automatically proof of two separate morning tests.27, 7
What does enclomiphene actually cost?
The published offers are not comparable all-in bills: some are medication prices, some include a membership, and some require a longer payment term. Hone's $42 medication line becomes $177 a month with Plus membership, while Hims' advertised $99 rate means $990 upfront for ten months.5, 13
Three numbers matter, and they're different numbers:
- What leaves your account today. Hims' advertised 10-month plan is $990 up front. Nuform's kit plus its stated physician fee is $458 before labs. Strut's listed medication is $79, with testing extra when needed. 13, 2, 14, 1, 8
- What you're committed to. Maximus's listed $99.99 monthly equivalent comes with a 6- or 12-month term. Month-to-month, the listed enclomiphene plan is $199.99. A lower monthly equivalent is also a commitment; installments do not turn a fixed term into cancel-anytime care. 3, 12
- What a full year costs. Add every dated charge for medication, care, required labs, shipping and renewals. Keep that cash-flow total separate from the cost of the treatment period covered. An unknown required charge is not zero.
The $42 that's really $177
🧮 Hone Health advertises enclomiphene "from $42/month." That's true and it's the lowest medication-only line in this comparison. But Plus membership is $135 a month. So the starting recurring cost is $177, plus $45 for the initial lab. Our starting first-year model is $45 + 12 × ($135 + $42) = $2,169. Confirm any extra diagnostic testing or changes in your medication quote before treating that as your all-in bill.5, 20
Hone isn't hiding this — it's published plainly on their own site. We're just the ones adding it up for you.5
The $95 that's really $194
🧮 Male Excel advertises Triclozene from $95 a month. Their own footnote says the price "does not include Medical Membership, which is required for treatment." That membership is $99 a month. Add the one-time $99 for the home hormone test and consultation and the annualized subtotal is $99 + 12 × ($95 + $99) = $2,427, before shipping and handling. The same page also lists Triclozene at $120/month, which would make that subtotal $2,727. Ask which price and refill billing schedule apply to your offer.6
Twelve refills is not a year
🧮 Here's a small piece of arithmetic almost nobody does. A "30-day supply" is not a calendar month. Twelve fills of Strut's $79 supply covers 360 days, not 365. If billing genuinely repeats every 30 days, you'd hit a thirteenth charge inside twelve months — $1,027 instead of $948. We couldn't confirm Strut's exact refill cadence, so those are separate scenarios, not a verified annual bill. Ask them.1
Add two $89 kits — an illustrative baseline and one repeat — and those scenarios become $1,126 for twelve fills or $1,205 for thirteen. More testing may be required: Strut's public materials refer to both a 3–6-month repeat window and six-month testing. Neither scenario proves the complete cost of your diagnostic work and monitoring.8, 9, 33
The other year-one figures, without the missing charges hidden
| Offer | Our calculation | What the result does — and does not — cover |
|---|---|---|
| Maximus, 12-month plan | 12 × $99.99 = $1,199.88 | Program price only. Labs are separate; confirm any required video-visit charge. 3, 12, 11 |
| Nuform, four kits and one care fee | 4 × $288 + $170 = $1,322 | Before labs. Adding one $95 panel gives $1,417; adding one $195 panel gives $1,517. Neither includes all repeat testing; Nuform recommends a repeat at 3–4 months. 2, 14, 16 |
| Hims, advertised 10-month term | 10 × $99 = $990 upfront | Ten months of the advertised treatment plan, not a full year. $99 × 12 = $1,188 is a normalized rate, not confirmed first-year cash paid. Initial testing and renewal details still need a matching quote. 13, 7 |
| Taurus, starting offer | $49 + 12 × $149 = $1,837 | Before the fee in its general terms. Only if $17.99 applies every month, add $215.88 for $2,052.88. “Per billing period” does not prove monthly billing. 18, 19 |
For Hims, if another identical ten-month term were charged at month ten, $1,980 would leave your account within the first year and buy twenty months of plan coverage. That is an illustration of prepaid cash flow, not a confirmed renewal quote. The distinction is why we don't rank $1,188 beside a twelve-month subscription as though they were the same bill.
The one question that protects you
Whatever you choose, get this in writing before you pay:
"What will I pay today, what will each charge be over the next year, and when will the next renewal be charged? Include medication, care fees, every required test and shipping."
Every "from $X a month" needs a billing schedule beside it. A clinic that answers that question clearly in writing is giving you something useful before you pay.

What's actually in the capsule?
Not every company selling "enclomiphene" sells enclomiphene by itself: some offer tadalafil combinations or other added ingredients. Male Excel sells a blend that includes thyroid hormone, and its own pages name different SERMs for that product.
If you specifically want enclomiphene alone, you have to ask. Here's what each company says it puts in the capsule, with the distinctions that matter before you pay:
| Provider | What their own site says | Single active ingredient? |
|---|---|---|
| Nuform | 📄 “Single ingredient containing 100% Enclomiphene only.” | Stated explicitly for Formula T. This is not our independent purity test or a claim about inactive ingredients. 2 |
| Hone Health | 📄 Enclomiphene is a separate medication line, from $42/month, alongside other treatment options | Presented as a separate drug; ask for the full prescription and ingredient list. 5 |
| Maximus | 📄 Enclomiphene protocol; testosterone-containing combination plans are listed separately | Choose the correct plan to compare. A testosterone combination is not enclomiphene-only care. 3 |
| Taurus Meds | 📄 Enclomiphene is a named product offer | The public offer is not a patient-specific ingredient list. Confirm what will be dispensed. 18 |
| Strut | 📄 Its product information describes either enclomiphene alone or enclomiphene with tadalafil | Depends what you're prescribed. 1, 9 |
| Hims | 📄 Current marketing describes enclomiphene with L-arginine, vitamins B6/B12 and zinc, with tadalafil also offered; its FAQ describes enclomiphene-only and tadalafil-combination options | Similar product names are not enough. Get the actual active ingredients and any added supplements in writing. 13, 7 |
| Male Excel | 📄 Oral product page says enclomiphene; pricing page names clomiphene, thyroid and selenomethionine | A blend either way; the SERM identity remains unresolved. 6, 22 |
Why "enclomiphene or clomiphene" is not a technicality
Clomiphene is a mixture of two geometric isomers — molecules with a different arrangement around a double bond, not mirror images. Enclomiphene is one of them, isolated. The other one — zuclomiphene — has greater estrogen-like activity in some research and stays in the body longer; the Clomid label reports detectable levels beyond a month. Isolating enclomiphene removes that other isomer, but that alone does not prove a safer finished product.24, 23
So "enclomiphene" and "clomiphene" are not two words for the same thing. Clomid is FDA-approved for ovulatory dysfunction in women seeking pregnancy; its use in men is off-label. Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved for any condition. Off-label use of an approved drug and use of an unapproved compounded drug are different situations.24, 4, 26
If a company can't tell you in one sentence which one you're getting, don't pay yet.
Tadalafil is a separate medical decision
Strut and Hims both offer enclomiphene combined with tadalafil. The compounded combination is not an FDA-approved drug.1, 7, 26 But adding a second prescription drug should be a clinical decision your prescriber justifies for you — not something that comes bundled because it makes the offer look better. More ingredients is not more value. Ask why it's in there.
Why isn't Male Excel on our enclomiphene shortlist?
Male Excel's oral product, Triclozene, is a blend rather than plain enclomiphene. Its public pages disagree about the SERM ingredient and show two different medication prices, so they do not establish the exact product or bill you would receive.6, 22
Male Excel is a paid partner of ours, and it is not the answer to a search for plain enclomiphene. We'd rather tell you that than sell you something you didn't ask for.
Here are the two pages, both live when we checked on September 8, 2026:
- The Triclozene product page is headlined *"Buy Enclomiphene Citrate for Men Online."*22
- The pricing page calls the product "Triclozene™ (Clomiphene Citrate with Thyroid)" and lists clomiphene citrate, thyroid and selenomethionine.6
The pages do not establish whether this is a reformulation, an outdated description, or another error. We're not going to invent an explanation or pretend we know which SERM a patient receives. But the reader's move is the same either way — get it confirmed in writing before your card is charged.
There's a second thing to know. Male Excel's pricing page lists thyroid hormone and selenomethionine in Triclozene; its oral product page's safety information describes desiccated thyroid containing T4 and T3. Its pricing page includes thyroid in all three hormone offers and describes it as supporting "testosterone effectiveness" — 📄 that's their characterisation, not something we can verify.6, 22 Male Excel's own page carries the thyroid boxed warning, which says that in people with normal thyroid function, replacement-range doses don't produce weight loss, and larger doses can cause serious or life-threatening problems.22, 34 If your thyroid labs come back normal, ask your Male Excel clinician why a second hormone is in your capsule and what they'll monitor. You're entitled to a straight answer.
So when does a different care route become the right call?
When enclomiphene turns out not to be your answer, that still doesn't make any one testosterone provider the automatic answer.
An abnormal lab pattern, older age, extra weight or a lack of near-term fertility plans cannot make that decision for you. A clinician needs to assess the cause, symptoms, risks and alternatives; the study-level age and weight findings below cannot predict your personal response. 27, 32
For that man, the honest next step isn't automatically a different SERM subscription. It's primary care, urology or endocrinology to reassess the diagnosis and care options. If that discussion leads to testosterone, ask whether the exact product is FDA-approved or compounded — Male Excel's blend and a commercial testosterone medicine are not interchangeable. 27, 26, 6
📄 Male Excel advertises no contract and HSA/FSA eligibility, and its pricing FAQ says its approach is not covered by insurance. Those are company-stated billing features, not proof that its treatment is right for you or that your plan will reimburse it. 6
If this page has convinced you that an enclomiphene subscription isn't your next step, that's a useful outcome, not a wasted click.

Still want to compare plain enclomiphene offers? Nuform states that Formula T has enclomiphene as its sole active ingredient. Strut lists an enclomiphene-only 30-day option. Their ingredient descriptions and cost models are a better place to continue than a thyroid-containing blend — but neither has a verified lowest all-in annual bill here.2, 1
What still bothers us about Taurus Meds?
Taurus publishes an enclomiphene price, but its general terms add a fee that the product offer does not clearly resolve. That gap matters before you agree to recurring payments.18, 19
We have a paid relationship with Taurus Meds, so this is the part where we tell you what we don't like about it.
Taurus publishes enclomiphene from $149/month and a $49 startup on its own product page. The $49 offer describes laboratory testing and a clinician consultation. Confirm the payment term attached to the offer you select; the product page does not establish a single term for every reader.18
What's missing is the connection between that offer and the $17.99 per-billing-period fee in Section 28 of its terms. Unless different purchase terms apply, that clause describes an extra recurring charge. We could not confirm whether it applies to this enclomiphene offer or whether its billing period is monthly.19
There's more. 📄 Taurus's terms state that membership fees are non-refundable except where law requires otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and shipped medications are final sale. Its separate cancellation page asks for 72 hours' notice before billing, but that page also uses weight-loss-program language. Ask which document governs your enclomiphene order.19, 35
💬 Customer-experience signal: On Trustpilot, Justin's September 2, 2026 review describes charges after cancellation and a refund dispute; Globetrotter's August 12 review describes an order and refund problem. Other reports are positive: Cory Boyles' August 15 review praises follow-up and communication. These are identifiable customer reports, not verified typical experiences or an enclomiphene-only sample. They cannot establish Taurus's policy — but on a subscription decision you deserve to know why saving the terms matters.36
If knowing your full price before you hand over a card is your priority, don't treat Taurus's $149 as a settled total. Strut and Nuform give you other published medication offers to compare, but their required testing and refund limits still need to be included. Nobody gets a pass because a price looks simple.18, 19, 1, 2
But here's the model Taurus advertises: medication and shipping under its program price, with startup labs through LabCorp or Quest. That may appeal to someone who prefers a lab-network visit to a home kit. It does not settle the extra-fee question or prove you'll have only one recurring charge. 18
📄 Taurus's terms name OpenLoop Health, Inc. as its “Partner MSO,” an administrative organization. That is not the same as identifying your treating medical practice or clinician. The terms also list partner pharmacies; they do not establish which one would dispense your enclomiphene. 19
For a man interested in that model, the next step is to resolve the fee, the treating practice and the pharmacy — not assume the gaps are benefits. Just get the total in writing first.
Its enclomiphene page also uses TRT benefit claims and an "FDA-certified TRT" intake line. Those words do not establish an FDA-approved enclomiphene product. Enclomiphene is not testosterone replacement therapy, and it has no FDA approval.18, 4, 23

Does enclomiphene actually protect your fertility?
The fertility evidence is narrower than the advertising. In the 2025 pooled clomiphene/enclomiphene trials, sperm concentration was higher than with testosterone gel, but it did not differ significantly from placebo; that is not proof of preserved fertility or a higher chance of pregnancy.32
🔵 We read the 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis in Archives of Endocrinology and Metabolism — 10 randomised trials, 819 men, with searches through April 2024. Here's what it actually found, next to claims readers may encounter. **These are pooled SERM results, not a head-to-head test of the online providers or proof that every finding applies to enclomiphene alone.**32
| The claim | What the pooled data found | What it can support |
|---|---|---|
| “Raise your testosterone 2–5x” | +273.76 ng/dL versus placebo (95% CI 191.87–355.66). Trial-group baseline means ranged from 67–303 ng/dL. | Moderate-certainty evidence for this average difference, not a promised multiplier for you. |
| “As good as TRT” | Versus testosterone gel: no statistically significant difference in total testosterone (+5.41 ng/dL, p=0.83). | Moderate-certainty evidence for this hormone result; not proof of equal symptom relief, safety or all TRT outcomes. |
| “Boosts your fertility” | Versus placebo: no statistically significant difference in sperm concentration (p=0.59). | Not evidence of improved pregnancy or live-birth rates. A non-significant finding is not proof of no possible effect. |
| “Preserves fertility” | Versus testosterone gel: +70.40 million/mL sperm concentration; relative risk of falling below 15 million/mL was 0.10. | A sperm-concentration advantage in these trials, not a fertility guarantee. |
| “Helps you lose weight” | No significant effect versus placebo on BMI, fasting glucose, HbA1c or insulin. | These trials do not justify using this treatment as a weight-loss or blood-sugar solution. |
| “Boosts libido and energy” | Genuinely mixed. One trial found no sexual-function improvement versus placebo; another found better sexual-desire scores. | Symptom findings were not a consistent pooled benefit; no promise of energy or libido improvement. |
| (not advertised) | Estradiol goes up — +33.99 pg/mL versus placebo. | A hormone finding to discuss with the clinician, not proof that estradiol caused any one symptom. |
| (not advertised) | Study-level analyses found smaller testosterone effects with higher average age (p=0.043) and BMI (p=0.0008). | Exploratory associations across studies; they do not predict an individual patient's response. |
| (not advertised) | Included trials ran 2 to 30 weeks. The authors say the evidence was “underpowered with regard to safety endpoints.” | Too little evidence to settle long-term safety. This is not a claim that no longer-term research exists for either drug. |
32 Table terms: BMI is a weight-to-height measure; HbA1c is a blood-sugar marker. A confidence interval (CI) describes uncertainty around the pooled estimate, not your predicted result. Read that fertility row again, because it's the most important sentence on this page:
The fertility case here is an argument about sperm suppression on testosterone. It is not proof that enclomiphene improves your chance of conceiving. In the pooled trials, sperm concentration did not differ significantly from placebo and was higher than with testosterone gel.32
That's still a real and meaningful distinction — testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production. The AUA/ASRM male-infertility guideline advises against testosterone monotherapy for men interested in current or future fertility. But maintaining a sperm measure and improving a couple's chance of having a baby are different claims.25, 32
No provider can promise you preserved or restored fertility. Neither can we. Clomiphene's use in men is off-label; enclomiphene is an unapproved drug, not merely an off-label version of an approved enclomiphene product. If conception soon is the actual goal, start with a reproductive urologist or another fertility-aware clinician to discuss semen testing and the couple's evaluation — not a telehealth intake form alone.24, 4, 25
There is specialist interest, not just regulatory concern. The British Society for Sexual Medicine's 2026 position statement discusses enclomiphene as a potential option for selected men, while advising against routine use outside specialist settings and acknowledging limited long-term safety and fertility evidence. That statement does not change U.S. FDA approval status.28, 4
For the wider care decision, see TRT and fertility.
Which three groups need a different first step?
An unresolved diagnosis, anti-doping or military rules, and near-term fertility goals can change the next action. Resolve those clinical or policy questions before paying for a subscription.
1. Men with primary hypogonadism
Covered above, but worth repeating because the wrong care route can waste money: primary hypogonadism is a testicular problem rather than simply too little pituitary signaling. The 2025 meta-analysis excluded studies involving that group. A specialist needs to interpret the actual findings; the trials do not let this page declare what will or won't work for you.27, 32, 28
→ See a urologist or endocrinologist. Not a subscription.
2. Active-duty military and drug-tested athletes
This can affect your eligibility to compete or your service medical requirements. A clinic's prescription does not settle either question.
- 🔵 Clomifene (clomiphene) is listed in Section S4.2 of the WADA Prohibited List — anti-estrogenic substances — prohibited at all times, in and out of competition. OPSS also identifies enclomiphene as falling under WADA Section 4. 37, 30
- 🔵 USADA states explicitly that holding a prescription does not by itself permit use in sport. Its guidance describes the Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) process; approval is a separate anti-doping decision, not something a clinic can promise. 29
- 🔵 The Department of Defense's Operation Supplement Safety lists enclomiphene on its prohibited dietary-supplement-ingredient list and tells service members to consult their military healthcare provider. That provider must assess whether use is allowed under the applicable service requirements. The supplement-list entry does not, by itself, settle whether prescribed use is allowed for you. 30
We checked all three directly. If you're subject to those rules, get the answer from your anti-doping authority or military healthcare provider before you pay a civilian clinic. A routine workplace drug test is not the same thing as a sports anti-doping test.
3. Men trying to conceive soon
Not because enclomiphene is automatically the wrong drug — the sperm-concentration findings differ from testosterone gel. But because conception is a two-person clinical question, and a semen analysis and fertility-focused assessment can matter more than which subscription looks convenient.32, 25
→ Reproductive urologist or another fertility-aware clinician first. You can always come back to this decision.
And one thing that isn't a disqualifier
🔵 Being older or carrying extra weight is not, by itself, a reason for this page to rule enclomiphene in or out. The meta-regression found smaller effects in studies with higher average age and BMI, but that cannot predict your result. Agree with your clinician on what symptoms, labs and side effects will be reviewed, and when.32, 27
If any of these three describe you, resolve that question before you start a subscription. Find My TRT Path can help you organize the care-route questions; it does not clear medical, military or sporting eligibility.

Is enclomiphene FDA-approved? Is it even legal?
Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved for any condition. It remains on FDA's Category 1 list for 503A compounding evaluation, but that supports a conditional enforcement policy, not a blanket declaration that every enclomiphene prescription or compounded product is lawful.4, 31
Here are the three facts, all checkable against FDA's own documents:
1. FDA proposed leaving it off the 503A Bulks List, and its advisory committee agreed. 🔵 On June 8, 2022, the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 4 in favor and 8 against including enclomiphene citrate for the proposed use in secondary hypogonadism. That was an advisory vote, not a final ban or a drug-approval decision. 38, 23
2. It's still in Category 1 — under evaluation. 🔵 FDA's May 14, 2026 nominated-substances list includes enclomiphene citrate. Under FDA's interim policy, the agency does not intend to take specified enforcement action when the applicable guidance conditions are met. Category 1 itself is not drug approval or an exemption from every other legal requirement. 4, 31
3. It is absent from the final 503B bulks list. 🔵 The FDA list we checked on September 8, 2026 names five included substances; enclomiphene is not among them or in that page's excluded-substances table. The 503B framework and any interim policy must be assessed separately — you cannot transfer a 503A Category 1 entry into automatic 503B eligibility. 39
Plain English: do not confuse “available through a prescription service” with “FDA-approved,” and do not confuse a conditional compounding policy with unconditional permission. The exact pharmacy, product and legal requirements matter.
Compounding is not the same as an approved, standardized product
Here's a detail that matters more than it sounds. In its 2022 assessment, FDA reported that enclomiphene had no applicable USP or NF monograph — an official drug-quality standard. You still need to know which pharmacy makes the medication and what quality controls it uses.23, 26
Three definitions, since they'll come up:
- Compounded means ingredients are combined or altered to create a medication for a medical need. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not approved generic versions of an enclomiphene product.
- 503A generally covers patient-specific compounding by a licensed pharmacist or physician under its conditions. State boards mainly oversee these pharmacies; “503A registered with FDA” is not the right credential.
- 503B covers FDA-registered outsourcing facilities. They are subject to current good manufacturing practice requirements; drugs compounded under compliant 503A conditions are exempt from those requirements. Neither label means the finished compounded drug is FDA-approved.
So ask every provider: which pharmacy fills my prescription, is it licensed for my state, and under which compounding framework does it operate? If it is described as a 503B outsourcing facility, confirm its FDA registration as well. A clinic that won't answer is answering. 40, 26
Not a controlled substance — and what that does and doesn't mean
🔵 Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance in the U.S. and requires a valid prescription. Enclomiphene is not listed as a federally controlled substance. That distinction does not remove state prescribing rules, pharmacy requirements or the need for clinical care.41, 30, 42
As of September 8, 2026, the federal temporary telemedicine extension runs through December 31, 2026. It allows qualifying controlled-medication prescribing without a prior in-person evaluation under its conditions; it is not a promise that every patient, state or provider can use that path. Confirm the prescriber's state authority and any in-person requirement for the actual treatment.43, 42
It says nothing about which is safer. The randomised trials in the 2025 clomiphene/enclomiphene review lasted 2–30 weeks and could not settle long-term safety. Less regulatory friction is not more evidence.32
What tests and follow-up should you expect?
Diagnosing testosterone deficiency requires clinical assessment and appropriate repeat morning testing, not just a kit result. The clinician should explain the cause being investigated, which additional tests are needed, and how symptoms, labs and side effects will be followed; there is no FDA-approved enclomiphene label that supplies one standard monitoring schedule for everyone.27, 4
Quick definitions:
- Hematocrit — the percentage of your blood made up of red cells. An increase was reported in the trials discussed here.
- PSA (prostate-specific antigen) — a prostate-related blood marker. Whether to measure it depends on age, risk, symptoms and the clinical plan; a higher PSA is not itself a diagnosis of cancer.
- Estradiol — the main form of estrogen. It rose on average in the pooled SERM trials; the clinician should explain what changes matter in your case.
🔵 In an enclomiphene trial included in the review, two men stopped treatment — one for raised hematocrit and haemoglobin, one for raised PSA. In another trial, PSA rose significantly in the clomiphene group, though it stayed inside the normal range. These findings are reasons to discuss monitoring beyond a testosterone number, not proof of the same risk for every patient. 32
Here's what the companies publish about testing:
| Provider | Baseline and follow-up model — provider-stated | What to settle before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Taurus Meds | $49 startup describes lab testing through LabCorp or Quest and clinician consultation | Exact panel, second morning testosterone test, ongoing schedule and any separate lab charges. 18 |
| Hone Health | $45 initial eight-marker home test. The non-TRT schedule lists follow-ups at 3, 6 and 12 months, included with Plus; it shows no scheduled nine-month draw | The same article also says “every 90 days.” Confirm your actual schedule and whether a second diagnostic morning test is required and separately charged for enclomiphene. The published TRT confirmation-test price is not a confirmed enclomiphene testing charge. 5, 21, 20 |
| Strut | Listed $89 blood-spot panel: testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH, albumin and estradiol. Its public pages describe baseline and repeat testing | Materials mention both a 3–6-month repeat window and six-month testing. Confirm how repeat morning diagnosis is handled, the assigned panel and the number of paid kits. 8, 9, 33 |
| Maximus | Required enclomiphene markers include total testosterone, free testosterone or SHBG, LH and FSH. Policy describes baseline, one-month, three-month and annual testing; labs cost extra | Its $99 home-kit description conflicts about coverage of the full panel versus testosterone-only testing. Get the requisition, collection method and full quote. 11 |
| Nuform | Lab work before the physician's treatment decision; its enclomiphene page recommends repeat testing at 3–4 months. Panel menu lists $95 and $195 options | Which panel applies at baseline and follow-up; how diagnostic repeat morning testing is arranged; total lab cost rather than one panel alone. 2, 16 |
| Hims | Initial at-home kit; FAQ describes two samples. Program page describes a check-in on levels at three months | Two samples do not establish separate early-morning test dates. Confirm instructions, required markers, and what testing is included in your exact offer. 7 |
| Male Excel | $99 home hormone test and online consultation | Confirm diagnostic repeat testing and the monitoring plan for the exact SERM and thyroid-containing blend, not a general TRT plan. 22 |
Where a provider's own documents contradict each other, we've left it as unresolved rather than picking the friendlier number. Ask for the exact requisition and the exact lab quote before you pay.
What risks belong in the clinician discussion?
Headache, hot flushes, nausea and dizziness have been reported with enclomiphene. The 2026 BSSM statement also flags medical histories such as liver disease and uncontrolled thyroid or adrenal problems for specialist assessment. That is not a complete safety screen you can perform from a webpage.28
In its 2018 EnCyzix assessment, the European Medicines Agency raised concerns about blood clots in the veins and a lack of demonstrated symptom benefits in the submitted studies. That is a historical regulatory finding, not a measured clot rate for today's online programs — but it is not a concern to hide behind the word "oral."44
Seek emergency care for chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden vision loss or another urgent symptom; do not wait for a subscription support reply. Ask your prescriber how to report other new symptoms and get timely advice.
Can the provider treat you in your state — and who will you actually see?
A company offering one treatment in your state does not establish access to its enclomiphene product. Your treating clinician must have the authority required where you are located, and the assigned pharmacy must be appropriately licensed; we did not independently confirm those patient-specific assignments.42, 40
Compare the care model, not a promise of instant access
| Provider | Published care-access model | Limit of this audit |
|---|---|---|
| Hone Plus | Initial live video physician consultation and scheduled follow-up consultations | We did not measure appointment availability or response time. 5 |
| Nuform | Assigned provider and health specialist; phone/text care-team access and regular check-ins | A care-team message is not necessarily a live clinician visit. 2, 14 |
| Strut | Online physician consultation and follow-up care described as included | No independent appointment or support-speed test. 1, 9 |
| Maximus | Telehealth care under its program terms; required labs billed separately | Confirm whether your state requires a video visit and whether it carries a fee. 12 |
| Hims | Intake and laboratory review; its FAQ says some states require a video visit | A national brand is not availability in all 50 states for this product. 7 |
| Male Excel | Dedicated medical provider, support-team messaging and e-visits in its membership | The price page does not resolve the actual Triclozene formula. 6, 22 |
| Taurus Meds | Program consultation; its terms identify an administrative partner and partner pharmacies | Get the treating practice, clinician and assigned dispensing pharmacy in writing. 18, 19 |
Our editorial conclusion: Hone is worth examining when a published live-video model matters most; Strut is worth comparing when a 30-day medication offer matters; Nuform's explicit single-active-ingredient statement answers a different question. Those are offer-fit distinctions, not findings that any clinic is safest, clinically best, or eligible to treat you.
Before a visit, confirm where you will physically be, who will see you, whether video or an in-person evaluation is required, and how a move to another state affects care. For the broader choice, compare online and local TRT care.42
What if a refill is delayed or you need your records?
Ask when your next prescription review occurs, which labs can hold up a refill, the pharmacy's dispatch process, and who handles a gap in care. We did not measure delivery or refill turnaround for any provider. Shipping estimates are not guaranteed clinician approval or a promise that medicine will arrive before you run out.
Keep copies of lab results, visit notes and the exact prescription. Ask the treating practice how records are requested and transferred after cancellation; HIPAA access rights apply to covered healthcare entities, not automatically to every website you used. A new clinician makes a new prescribing decision — transferring records is not a guaranteed refill.45, 42
What happens if you want to cancel?
Cancelling future charges is not the same as getting money back. Prepaid plans, medication orders and membership fees can have different rules, so the relevant deadline is the one attached to your exact purchase. Save the terms before you pay, not after.
| Provider | What the published material says — provider-stated |
|---|---|
| Male Excel | Advertises “No contracts / Pause or cancel anytime.” That does not establish a refund for a medication order, a completed consultation or a paid billing period. Get the applicable cutoff and refund terms. 22, 6 |
| Strut | Charges at checkout before physician review and states a refund if the medication is not approved. Its refund policy does not refund a prescription already processed by the pharmacy; do not assume the test kit has the same refund terms. 9, 10 |
| Hone Health | Contact support to cancel membership; access ends at the end of the billing cycle. Active membership is needed for ongoing prescriptions. Medication orders and membership are separate decisions. 20 |
| Maximus | A committed savings term can leave remaining payments due after cancellation. Its terms describe a clinician-directed exception when treatment is no longer recommended; medication already shipped remains non-refundable. 12 |
| Hims | Plans of 3, 5, or 10 months are listed; the advertised 10-month treatment plan is prepaid. Confirm program-specific renewal, cancellation and refund rules before paying; rules for another Hims service are not automatically this offer's rules. 13, 46 |
| Taurus Meds | General terms: cancellation at the end of the paid period; membership fees generally non-refundable; shipped medicines final sale. Separate policy: 72-hour notice before billing, with medical-disqualification provisions and weight-loss wording. Confirm the governing policy. 19, 35 |
| Nuform | The refund policy calls the physician fee annual. For hormone patients, it describes refunds before completed blood work and for medical non-candidacy; the fee becomes non-refundable after treatment is recommended and accepted. Medication purchases are final; completed blood work is non-refundable. 17 |
We haven't tested any of these cancellation flows ourselves, and we're not going to imply we have.
A note about Hims, stated fairly
🔵 On July 29, 2026, the Federal Trade Commission, joined by Utah and California, sued Hims & Hers Health, Inc. in federal court in Northern California. The complaint alleges the company charged consumers for prescriptions before a provider consultation, failed to clearly disclose subscription terms, made cancellation difficult, and shared sensitive health information with third-party advertising platforms.47
🔵 These are allegations that have not been proven. Hims & Hers denies them, has called the claims baseless, says the suit disregards evidence provided during a nearly three-year investigation, and states it will defend itself vigorously. The case was listed as pending when we checked on September 8, 2026.48, 49
We're including it because this page is about choosing a subscription, and the complaint is specifically about subscription enrollment, billing and cancellation. We're claiming nothing beyond that.
Before you pay: what 12 questions should you ask?
These questions turn the comparison into a written offer you can check. They cover the prescription, the bill, the care and the exit — without asking you to choose a dose or interpret your own labs.
Print this. Take it to your consultation. The answers matter more than another "from" price.
If a clinic won't answer any single one of these in writing, that's your answer.
- Which molecule is in my prescription — enclomiphene or clomiphene? (A good answer identifies the drug clearly, in writing.)
- Is anything else in the capsule? (A good answer is a complete ingredient list.)
- Which pharmacy fills it, is it licensed for my state, and under which compounding framework does it operate? (If described as a 503B outsourcing facility, ask for its FDA registration.)
- What is my total charge in month one, including labs, medication, shipping and any membership?
- What are all the charge dates and amounts over the first year, and when is the next renewal?
- What am I committed to, and what happens if I cancel in month three?
- Are repeat labs included or billed separately? How much, and how often?
- Which markers will you check — such as testosterone, LH, FSH, estradiol, hematocrit or PSA — and why do they belong in my plan?
- Will you confirm low testosterone with a second morning test before prescribing?
- Who is my prescribing clinician, and are they authorized to treat me in the state where I will be located?
- If this doesn't work for me or I need different care, who reassesses the plan, arranges a referral and transfers my records?
- What are the exact steps and deadlines to cancel, and which charges can or cannot be refunded?
Question 11 is easy to miss. It's the one that tells you how to get care and your records when the original plan is no longer the right one.
If you've got answers you're happy with, the next step is a clinical discussion — with the charge terms understood before you submit anything. Some services charge before a prescribing decision. No intake form can guarantee that a clinician will prescribe.9, 35, 5

Why are there no star ratings or treatment testimonials on this page?
Customer reports can help identify questions about billing or communication, but they cannot prove that enclomiphene is safe or effective. We have not established typical outcomes or a basis for medical star ratings, so this page uses documented offers and research instead.
A service review is not automatically a claim that a drug worked — that's why the Taurus section clearly labels the billing reports. But we can't independently verify a stranger's treatment result or tell you it's typical. Using that result to suggest an unapproved drug will work for you would be exactly the thing we spend this whole page telling you to be sceptical of.
Provider-selected quotes and ratings don't become medical evidence because they're labelled "verified patient." That doesn't make them false. It means we'd rather show you a price we checked and a trial result we read.
What else should you know before choosing an enclomiphene provider?
The remaining questions concern prescribing, price, safety and the next step. These answers summarize the limits that still apply even after you have narrowed the provider list.
Frequently asked questions
Who can prescribe enclomiphene? A clinician with the appropriate prescribing authority for the state where you are located, acting within their scope of practice and applicable rules. Not every licensed healthcare professional can prescribe. Enclomiphene's lack of federal controlled-substance listing does not erase state rules or the conditions that apply to compounding.42, 41, 31
Is enclomiphene legal in the US? There is no blanket yes for every product or pharmacy. Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved; FDA's 503A Category 1 policy is conditional, and the prescription, pharmacy and other legal requirements still matter. A seller offering it without a valid prescription is not a substitute for clinician-supervised care.4, 31, 40
How much does enclomiphene cost per month? Hone's medication-only starting line is $42/month, but adding its required Plus membership makes the starting recurring amount $177. Strut lists $79 for a 30-day supply before tests, and Maximus lists $199.99 for its month-to-month plan. These are different offers, not all-in prices. See the cost models.5, 1, 3
Who's the cheapest? We could not verify a lowest complete annual bill across these providers. Strut has a $79 enclomiphene-only 30-day offer; Hone's $42 medication line is lower but requires $135 monthly membership. The first is not a full bill, and the second is not a $42 program. Compare required testing, fees and payment terms, not just the smallest number.1, 5
Is enclomiphene FDA-approved? No. Not for any condition. FDA's May 14, 2026 list places enclomiphene citrate in Category 1 for 503A compounding evaluation. The related interim enforcement policy has conditions. That is not drug approval.4, 31
Does enclomiphene affect fertility? In the 2025 pooled clomiphene/enclomiphene trials, sperm concentration was higher than with testosterone gel and did not differ significantly from placebo. Those findings do not establish pregnancy or live-birth benefits. No one can promise you preserved or restored fertility.32, 25
Is enclomiphene the same as Clomid? No. Clomid contains clomiphene, a mixture of two geometric isomers, enclomiphene and zuclomiphene. They are not mirror images. Clomid's FDA approval does not extend to an enclomiphene-only compounded drug.24, 26
Is enclomiphene safer than TRT? A claim that enclomiphene is safer overall is not established by this comparison. The randomised trials in the 2025 review lasted 2–30 weeks and were too limited to settle long-term safety; a 2026 specialist statement also notes those limits. "Not a controlled substance" is a legal classification, not a safety rating.32, 28
How long does it take to work? Studies measured hormone changes over weeks, but a rise in testosterone is not proof that symptoms will improve on the same timetable. The trials in the 2025 review followed participants for 2–30 weeks. Your clinician sets the testing and symptom-review timeline; this is not a reason to change treatment yourself.32
Will it make me fail a drug test? It can create an anti-doping problem; a positive result is not something this page can predict. Clomiphene is prohibited under WADA Section S4.2, and a prescription alone does not permit use in sport. Enclomiphene is also flagged by OPSS; athletes need anti-doping advice, and service members need their military healthcare provider's guidance.37, 29, 30
Does insurance cover it? Don't assume the drug, visits and labs have the same coverage. Ask your insurer about the exact prescribed product and each service, and ask the provider whether it bills insurance. An NDC number is not proof of FDA approval or insurance coverage; unapproved and compounded drugs can have NDC listings. Don't assume HSA or FSA eligibility from cash pricing either — confirm the exact service with your plan administrator.50
Can I use bloodwork I already have? Sometimes. Providers set their own rules on how recent results must be and which markers they need. Maximus, for example, accepts outside results under its published six-month recency and required-marker rules. Ask before you pay for a new panel you might not need; accepted outside labs do not automatically complete the diagnostic evaluation.11, 27
Should I pick an option that includes tadalafil? Only if your prescriber has a clinical reason for you specifically. A second drug in the capsule is a second prescribing decision, not a bonus feature.
Can a provider guarantee I'll be approved? No, and be wary of anything that implies otherwise. A clinical evaluation is required, and a payment, questionnaire or kit does not guarantee a prescription. Read the refund terms before you submit a card.5, 9, 35
