PrimeBody Alternatives: Which TRT Option Fixes Your Reason for Leaving?

The best PrimeBody alternatives depend on why you're leaving. Compare Male Excel for its no-contract policy and seven-day phone support, Hone Health for included follow-up labs, and TRT Nation for its $99.99 monthly equivalent with a 2.5-month minimum purchase. For insurance, an FDA-approved product or fertility plans, start with the appropriate doctor or specialist.

That's the short answer. But before you pick, there's one PrimeBody rule that affects when billing can end — and what your last bill looks like. We'll show you the math, and how to plan a switch from PrimeBody to reduce the risk of a gap in care.

What we actually verified — October 13, 2026 We read PrimeBody's homepage, patient policies, TRT intake form, Terms of Use and ambassador terms, plus the live pricing, plan, lab and policy pages for Male Excel, Hone Health, TRT Nation and Taurus Meds. We checked every calculation. We did not enroll, pay, receive treatment, test support response times, or confirm an assigned clinician, prescription or pharmacy. PrimeBody alternatives compared: what does each really cost in year one?

PrimeBody publishes a "from $129 a month" TRT price, with separate lab charges and a 3% fee on every payment; those pages do not establish a complete yearly price. Using each company's own published prices, Male Excel models at $2,727 for injections before shipping and extras, and Hone Plus at $1,710–$1,715 before medication. TRT Nation publishes a $99.99 monthly equivalent, but its complete first-year cost depends on order dates and required tests.

The monthly sticker doesn't show the whole bill. That's how people get burned. So we modeled each option from its published prices and billing blocks; exact charges still require a quote.

Hone Health Plus $45 test + at-lab TRT confirmation listed at $45 on one page, $50 on another $135/month (follow-up labs, consults and shipping included) $1,710–$1,715 + medication Medication — compounded cypionate listed from $28 per vial; compounded cream $60/month
Hone Health Premium $65 at-lab test + physician consult; $25 confirmation when starting TRT $155/month $1,950 + medication Actual medication cost
TRT Nation $129 TRT lab panel, or qualifying recent outside labs $99.99/month equivalent, sold in 2.5-month minimum orders ≈ $1,637 illustration: five roughly $250 orders + three $129 panels Exact order dates and amounts, required test count, any repeat diagnostic test, state pricing and optional non-testosterone add-ons

How we did the math (editorial calculations from published prices):

  • PrimeBody: $129 × 1.03 = $132.87 per payment. × 12 = $1,594.44. Labs come on top. This assumes 12 monthly payments at the starting price, not a verified personal quote. PrimeBody homepage · PrimeBody policies
  • Male Excel: $99 + (12 × $99) + (6 × $240) = $2,727. The pricing page describes 60-day supplies billed every other month. Six supplies cover 360 days, not 365; that does not establish whether another charge falls inside your first year. Cream: $99 + $1,188 + (6 × $264) = $2,871. Both models exclude shipping and extras. Male Excel pricing
  • Hone Plus: $45 + $45–$50 + (12 × $135) = $1,710–$1,715 before medication. The Plus plan page lists $45 for at-lab confirmation; the TRT lab schedule lists $50. Hone's at-home confirmation option costs $80, which makes it $1,745 before medication. Hone Plus details · Plus TRT lab schedule
  • Hone Premium: $65 + $25 + (12 × $155) = $1,950 before medication when the TRT confirmation test is needed. The $25 test is documented in Premium's own plan details. These Hone models include 12 membership payments and a new TRT evaluation; an existing patient's transfer requirements need clinician review. Hone Premium details
  • TRT Nation: One 2.5-month order is about $250 (2.5 × $99.99). Five such orders nominally represent 12.5 months: about $1,250. If three $129 panels are purchased, labs add $387 and the illustration totals about $1,637. This is not a confirmed first-year bill or testing requirement: the FAQ pages describe different follow-up schedules, and the exact order calendar and any second diagnostic draw need confirmation. Twelve times the advertised monthly equivalent alone is $1,199.88 before labs; that is not how orders are billed. Bring qualifying recent labs and the first panel may drop off. TRT Nation pricing · TRT Nation FAQ · Alternate FAQ · TRT Nation labs
  • Taurus: $49 + (12 × $149) = $1,837 — only if no other fee applies. Its terms list a $17.99 fee per billing period unless otherwise stated at purchase; whether it applies to this offer needs confirmation. Taurus $49 offer · Taurus terms §28

Two things jump out. PrimeBody's starting number looks low. But its public pages don't establish a full price; ask for an itemized quote before you enroll. And TRT Nation has the lowest advertised monthly equivalent among these online plans, but we can't turn that into a verified complete yearly bill. We'd rather tell you that than have you find it later.

To compare actual first-year bills: ask each provider to list every charge and its date from your first payment through day 365, including required repeat tests, medication, shipping and any PrimeBody exit charge. Keep medication days supplied in a separate column. A monthly equivalent, a 12-payment model and a full year of medication are different numbers.

Which PrimeBody alternative fits your reason for leaving?

You may be leaving PrimeBody for a handful of reasons: the 30-day cancellation rule and contract language, a price you can't see up front, limited support hours, no insurance, or a change in health plans like fertility. Each reason points to a different best fit.

Find yours, then skip to that section.

These are our editorial judgments, built from the verified facts on this page. They aren't a medical ranking.

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

The tool is educational and does not diagnose. It can't confirm low testosterone, decide eligibility or guarantee a prescription.

Your reason didn't fit neatly in one row? That's normal. You may have two or three.

What does it take to leave PrimeBody?

PrimeBody's published policy requires 30 days' written notice to cancel, sent by email or portal message to your patient care coordinator. A final payment may be due if a billing date lands inside those 30 days. PrimeBody offers no account hold or freeze, and says it won't send early refills of testosterone, so the timing of a switch has to be planned.

If you're reading this mid-treatment, here's the good news: you can plan a move. You just need to confirm your terms and time it right.

What leaving costs, in dollars

  • If a billing date falls inside your 30-day notice: a final payment may be required — $132.87 at the $129 starting price with the 3% fee. On weekly billing, it could be several smaller payments.
  • If you took the "$400 credit" promotion: PrimeBody's banner (still showing a "New Years promo" on October 13, 2026) says it carries a 6-month obligatory engagement. Six $129 payments with the 3% fee come to $797.22 before any credit or other charges. That is an illustration, not the verified price or balance of your promotion. Ask PrimeBody for your remaining commitment and unused credit in writing.

Why "contract" matters here

PrimeBody advertises "monthly plans." But its own materials use the word contract. The intake asks you to add contracts@primebody.com to your contacts. And its ambassador program says referrers get paid "every month that person is under contract," after closing three contracts. PrimeBody intake · Ambassador terms

The ambassador wording does not prove that every ordinary patient plan has a minimum term. Two takeaways. First, ask for a copy of whatever you signed before you assume you can leave after 30 days. Second, if someone on social media pushed a PrimeBody "discount code," they may be a paid ambassador. That doesn't make them wrong. It's just worth knowing.

Thinking of staying instead? That can be a fine choice if the care and terms fit you. Just get these answers in writing first: your all-in monthly price with the 3% fee, your lab costs, any minimum term, which pharmacy fills your testosterone, and whether it's FDA-approved or compounded. Our PrimeBody cost guide has a copy-and-send message for exactly that.

Can you switch from PrimeBody without a gap in treatment?

Starting a new provider's intake early can help, but it cannot guarantee a gap-free switch. Because PrimeBody says it won't refill testosterone early, the switch has to be timed, not stockpiled. Never stop, stretch or change your dose on your own; your clinician sets the plan.

Here's the order we'd follow. It's built from PrimeBody's own rules plus each alternative's published timelines; use milestones, not promised delivery dates.

The PrimeBody switch calendar

PrimeBody alternatives table 5: The PrimeBody switch calendar
When Do this Why
Before a new payment Download your results from the Labcorp patient portal. Email your coordinator for your current prescription details and visit notes. Completed records let the next clinician assess what testing and care you need.
When you compare intake requirements Start the new provider's intake. Upload or send your recent labs. Some providers accept recent outside labs, which can save time and money.
At the new consultation Tell the clinician your current medication, dose and last fill date. Ask who will manage your next prescription and what happens if there is a delay.
Once the new clinician agrees to take over Send PrimeBody written notice. Save the date and time. Ask PrimeBody to confirm the notice's effective date, the end of the 30-day period and any final charge. Sending notice too early risks a gap if the new provider declines.
Before the current supply ends Confirm the clinician's transition plan, prescription status and delivery estimate. Track the cancellation end date separately. An intake payment does not guarantee approval or arrival. A 30-day notice sent after intake cannot expire within 30 days of starting intake.

PrimeBody's intake lists total and free testosterone, estradiol, LH, FSH, CBC, PSA, cholesterol, liver enzymes and a CMP under its New York lab instructions. That list does not establish which tests you had or whether your diagnosis was confirmed. PrimeBody intake

Published delivery estimates begin at different points: TRT Nation says 1–3 business days to ship after approval, plus 3–5 business days for delivery; Taurus says 1–2 weeks from testing to delivery on average. Neither is a guaranteed switch date. TRT Nation FAQ · Taurus process

Three words that save people a lot of grief: coordinate, don't guess. A paid intake isn't the same as a clinician agreeing to manage your next prescription. Ask the new provider who handles that, and when.

Will your old labs count? It depends on the provider and the date of the draw. TRT Nation says it may use labs drawn within 120 days if they contain all required markers; it does not accept finger-prick or saliva tests. Hone may accept outside labs from the past 90 days with every required marker, but you must still buy its initial lab-and-consult package. Male Excel advertises its own five-marker finger-prick kit; acceptance of outside results was not confirmed. Ask each one, using your exact draw date, before you pay for a new panel. TRT Nation FAQ · Hone outside-lab policy · Male Excel

Can you transfer your PrimeBody prescription? Changing clinicians and transferring a prescription between pharmacies are different steps. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance and requires a valid prescription. Federal rules allow certain electronic controlled-substance prescriptions to transfer once between pharmacies for initial filling, subject to conditions and state law; that does not make a new clinician responsible for your care. Ask the clinician and pharmacist what applies to your prescription. DEA drug scheduling · 21 CFR §1306.08

Is online TRT still allowed? Yes, when the clinician meets federal and state requirements. The current temporary federal rule permits qualifying DEA-registered clinicians to prescribe testosterone through a real-time audio-video visit without a prior in-person exam through December 31, 2026, subject to the rule's conditions and other applicable law. That exception has an end date; a later visit must meet the rules then in force, and some patients may need an in-person evaluation. Federal Register: fourth temporary extension

Questions to ask any new provider before you pay

  1. Do you treat patients in my state today?
  2. Will you accept my existing lab report, given its draw date, collection method and markers?
  3. What's my itemized first-year cost — consult, membership, medication, labs, shipping and billing dates?
  4. What exact medication would I get? Is it FDA-approved or compounded? Which pharmacy fills it?
  5. How do I cancel, how much notice do you need, and what's refundable?
  6. Who handles my next prescription if delivery is late?
  7. Who is my clinician, what is their professional license, and are they licensed to treat me in my state? How do I request my full medical record and keep access after cancellation?

For the full step-by-step process, records requests and copy-ready messages, see our guide on how to switch TRT providers.

Male Excel: the best PrimeBody alternative if the contract and support hours are why you're leaving

Male Excel publishes its medication and membership starting prices, says "No Contract, Cancel Anytime," lets you request a treatment pause, and lists phone support seven days a week. Its injection starting-price model is $2,727 before shipping and extras — more than PrimeBody's incomplete starting-price model — and its advertised testosterone is compounded, not FDA-approved. It fits best if predictable terms and access matter more to you than the lowest price.

Here's why Male Excel is our first look for people leaving over these contract terms or listed support hours. Put the two companies' published policies side by side, and the friction points line up almost one for one.

The honest trade-off

Male Excel does not have the lowest advertised price. Its injection model is $2,727 — about $1,130 more than PrimeBody's $1,594 starting-price model, before PrimeBody's labs or either plan's unpriced extras. If lowest advertised cost is your top priority, TRT Nation is worth comparing first. Male Excel's $99 membership includes blood work every six months, a check-in every 60 days, a provider who stays assigned to you, and phone support on weekends. It also advertises the option to pause treatment or cancel; confirm when membership and refill charges stop.

A 90-day starting-price illustration is $99 + three $99 membership payments + two $240 medication orders = $876 before shipping, extras and any difference in billing dates. Male Excel also advertises a guarantee: eligible new members who follow the plan continuously for 90 days may request their first three months of membership fees back if symptoms do not improve. The request must be made within 30 days after that period and is reviewed for adherence. That covers membership only, not medication, and it has conditions. Male Excel guarantee terms

Male Excel's FAQ also describes a 48-hour window to act on a refill reminder before the medication is billed and shipped, and says prescription sales are final. A pause request is not proof that an order already processing will be refunded. Male Excel FAQ · General terms

Four things to know before you start

  • It's compounded. Male Excel's own disclosure says its compounded medications are not FDA-approved or evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. If you need an FDA-approved product, see the local doctor route. FDA on compounded drugs
  • It uses a daily model. Male Excel advertises daily testosterone cypionate injections under the skin or twice-daily testosterone Lipoderm cream. If you want to keep a weekly schedule, ask before you enroll.
  • Thyroid medicine comes in the starting package. Its listed medication prices include daily desiccated thyroid tablets. FDA says animal-derived desiccated thyroid medicines are not approved. Ask whether you need thyroid medicine, and what the price is without it. Male Excel thyroid description · FDA thyroid information
  • Its starting test is narrow, so bring your PrimeBody labs. Male Excel's at-home kit measures five markers: total testosterone, estradiol, DHEA-S, free T3 and PSA. It doesn't list a blood count (hematocrit) or LH. Its homepage also says providers may prescribe "before lab results arrive" when clinically appropriate. PrimeBody's New York lab list includes CBC and LH, but your own results may differ or need repeating. Send your completed results in, and ask how the clinician will confirm your diagnosis and baseline, including any repeat morning testing and its cost.

Male Excel also lists its pharmacy partners as Anazao Health and WellDyneRx-FL in its FAQ, and its footer notes that DEA and state law may require an in-person exam for some patients. Those partner names do not establish which pharmacy will fill your prescription. Male Excel FAQ

Who should skip Male Excel: anyone living in one of its 11 excluded states, anyone who needs insurance billing or an FDA-approved product, and anyone trying to conceive soon.

Hone Health: the best PrimeBody alternative if you want labs built into the price

Hone Health's Plus plan costs $135 a month and includes follow-up labs, physician consults and shipping, with medication billed separately. It starts with a $45 test; for men starting TRT, its pages list the at-lab confirmation at $45 or $50, checking testosterone again plus hematocrit, PSA and prolactin. Plan availability depends on your state: Plus isn't offered in New York, but Premium is.

If PrimeBody's separate lab bills were what bothered you, Hone flips that model. The labs are the membership.

Sources: Hone membership overview · Hone Plus. Hone's $25 Basic plan doesn't include hormone therapy, so it isn't a TRT option. The confirmation prices and markers above also come from Premium's plan details and the Plus TRT lab schedule.

A nice detail for PrimeBody leavers: Hone documents a second testosterone measurement before starting TRT. That meets one part of the diagnostic process; the Endocrine Society also calls for symptoms or signs plus consistently low results confirmed with repeat early-morning fasting testing. Check your state first — this is where people get tripped up

Hone's plans aren't available everywhere, and the two men's TRT plans don't cover the same states.

  • Plus only (not Premium): Hawaii, South Dakota
  • Premium only (not Plus): New York
  • Neither men's TRT plan: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, D.C., Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina

That's from Hone's state table updated September 4, 2026. It shows where a plan is offered, not that every medication ships to every state. Hone service availability by state

The trade-offs

  • Medication is extra, and the units are tricky. Hone lists testosterone cypionate "starts at $28/vial" — per vial, not per month. How long a vial lasts depends on your prescription. Get the actual monthly medication charge before you compare totals.
  • Its marketed cypionate is compounded. Hone's testosterone cypionate product page says it's a compounded product not approved by the FDA. Hone testosterone cypionate
  • The patient stories on Hone's testosterone cypionate page are labeled "compensated." We don't count those as independent evidence.

What happens after you join — and when you leave

Hone's published TRT schedules list follow-up testing at months 3, 6, 9 and 12 in the first year, with later testing based on the plan and clinician's needs. Panels vary; every marker is not checked at every visit. Its automatic refills still depend on the prescription and required labs and visits. Plus TRT schedule · Premium schedule · Refill process

Cancel membership and prescription orders separately. Hone uses a cancellation form, does not refund partial membership months, and cannot cancel or refund medication already processed or shipped. It also publishes a pause option for up to three months with no billing; confirm how pending medication orders are handled. It documents a Consult History export, but that is not proof of full-record export or continued portal access after cancellation. Cancellation and refunds · Consult History export

Hone offers in-app messaging, but says it is not live chat. It also permits some prescriptions through a patient's own pharmacy; membership remains payable and the pharmacy bills separately. Confirm the exact product, pharmacy and coverage before treating this as an insurance option. Contact policy · Own-pharmacy policy

Who should skip Hone: anyone in a state without a men's TRT plan or anyone who needs insurance billing for the clinic's services. If lowest total cost is your priority, compare a written quote for your actual prescription.

TRT Nation: what does the lowest advertised monthly price leave out?

TRT Nation lists testosterone at a $99.99 monthly equivalent, sold in minimum 2.5-month orders, with its TRT lab panel at $129. That is the lowest advertised monthly equivalent among the online plans here, but the roughly $1,637 illustration above is not a verified complete first-year bill. The number of tests, actual order dates and state-specific terms can change what you pay.

If price is the whole reason you're leaving, this is the honest answer.

What its price covers: TRT Nation's $99.99 is a monthly equivalent. You buy at least 2.5 months at a time, so each order runs about $250. Its current intake lists total testosterone, CBC, CMP and estradiol, with PSA for patients 40 or older. Its main FAQ says labs after the first 10 weeks, 6 months after the first lab, then yearly; an alternate FAQ says 6 months after the 10-week follow-up, while a process page describes ongoing six-month checks. Get your actual schedule and test charges in writing. TRT Nation pricing · Lab orders · FAQ · Current intake · Alternate FAQ · Process page

What to know:

  • You pay in blocks, not monthly. Budget about $250 up front per order.
  • Its FAQ names a type of pharmacy, not your product. TRT Nation says its medications are sourced from licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies. That provider statement does not identify your assigned pharmacy or establish whether your exact prescription is an FDA-approved product or a compounded preparation.
  • Labs are extra, or bring your own. It may accept labs drawn within 120 days with all required markers; finger-prick and saliva tests are excluded. Accepted results could save a PrimeBody patient the $129 entry panel. Ask whether a second morning diagnostic test is needed and what it costs.
  • Patients must be 24 or older.
  • Listed phone support hours are weekdays: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Eastern, plus secure messaging.
  • Confirm your state. Its main FAQ says most states; another excludes Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri and Hawaii. Confirm the exact state and formulation before paying. FAQ · Alternate FAQ
  • Refills need action. Its FAQ describes patient-requested refills rather than automatic renewal. Ask when to request the next order and who reviews it.
  • Refund terms need a direct answer. Its cancellation policy reserves a no-return/no-refund policy, while the current intake offers a full refund if the patient and provider decide treatment is unsuitable during the consultation. Ask which charges and stage that promise covers. Cancellation policy · Current intake
  • Ignore pressure from a timed banner. On the day we checked, its site displayed "TODAY ONLY!" and "Sale Ends In 24 Hours." Don't let a timer make a medical decision for you.

If the advertised price and larger payment blocks fit your budget, TRT Nation is worth comparing. If you need more help between visits, ask about visit length, clinician access and reply times; the published price alone does not answer that.

Taurus Meds: what should you verify before paying?

Taurus Meds advertises a $49 blood test and consultation, then $149 a month for medication "if approved," with "no membership fees." Its terms describe a $17.99 fee per billing period unless otherwise stated at purchase, and its pages use both FDA-approved and compounded claims without identifying the product you would receive. Get one written answer on both before you pay.

We have a commercial relationship with Taurus. We're still not going to tell you its offer is simple, because right now its pages contradict each other.

Question What one Taurus page says What another Taurus page says
Is the starting test free or $49? Homepage: free testosterone test Linked offer page: $49 blood test and consultation; confirm which offer and conditions apply
Is there a membership fee? $49 offer page: "No membership fees. No hidden fees." Terms of Service §28: a recurring $17.99 membership fee per billing period, unless otherwise stated at purchase
FDA-approved or compounded? Homepage: "FDA-approved medications" $49 offer page: "Our bioidentical hormones are compounded in The US"
Whose program is this? $49 offer page credits "The Excel Advantage HRT program" and "over 100,000 men" "The Excel Advantage" is Male Excel's program name. The same Taurus page also says "Helped over 40,000 Patients +".
Medication descriptions The gel, enclomiphene and oral sermorelin cards all say "Weekly intramuscular injections" That route conflicts with the gel and oral products those pages advertise. Enclomiphene and sermorelin are not TRT.
Refunds Offer page: 90-day guarantee, "Minus lab and pharmacy fees" Refund policy: no refunds on cancellation except medical disqualification; shipped medication is final

The copy mix-ups look like template errors, not proof of bad care. But they mean you can't rely on the marketing page to tell you what you'll get. The FDA-approved and compounded statements could refer to different products; neither identifies your prescription.

What Taurus does well on paper: Its terms name four partner pharmacies (RedRock Pharmacy, Health Warehouse, Precision Compounding Pharmacy and Triad Rx) and its medical management partner, OpenLoop Health. PrimeBody names none on the pages we checked. Taurus's subscription policy offers medically disqualified patients a refund, but its terms separately exclude blood-work charges and shipped medications; confirm the scope in writing. It says it automatically sends an at-home kit at no extra charge if you live more than 50 miles from a Labcorp or Quest lab. These are published partner and process claims, not verification of your assigned clinician or pharmacy. Taurus blood-test process

Before you pay, get these in writing:

  1. Does the $17.99 fee apply to the $149 TRT plan? How often?
  2. Which exact medication would I get, and is it FDA-approved or compounded?
  3. Which of your four pharmacies would fill it?
  4. Is there a minimum plan length? What do I owe if I cancel in month two?
  5. Cancellation needs 72 hours' notice before billing — what's my billing date?
  6. Do you serve my state for this exact treatment, what repeat morning testing is required, and are ongoing labs, visits and shipping included? How do refills and records requests work?

If you left PrimeBody because of hidden terms, hold Taurus to the same standard.

When is a local doctor, insurance or a fertility specialist the better PrimeBody alternative?

PrimeBody, Male Excel and Hone publish cash-pay service terms; TRT Nation's advertised cash prices do not establish every insurance possibility. If you want insurance coverage, an FDA-approved testosterone product, or you plan to have children soon, an in-network primary-care doctor, urologist, endocrinologist or reproductive urologist is usually the better place to start. Check clinic, lab and medication coverage separately; Hone's own-pharmacy option does not make its membership covered.

Sometimes the best PrimeBody alternative isn't another subscription.

If you want insurance or an FDA-approved product

FDA-approved testosterone products have gone through FDA review for safety and effectiveness. Compounded preparations haven't. That's a regulatory difference, not a quality ranking. If an FDA-approved product matters to you, ask for one by name, and ask your insurer four separate questions: Is the clinician in network? Is the medication on my formulary? Does it need prior authorization? Are the labs covered? FDA on compounded drugs · Testosterone cypionate prescribing information

Compare the two settings in our guide to online vs. local TRT care.

If you want kids soon

Testosterone from outside the body can tell your brain to slow down the signals that drive sperm production. The Endocrine Society recommends against starting testosterone in men planning fertility in the near term. If you're already on TRT and want children, talk to a reproductive urologist before changing anything. Medicines like clomiphene, enclomiphene or hCG are not testosterone replacement therapy, and none of them guarantees fertility. Use of an FDA-approved clomiphene product in men is off-label, meaning outside its approved indication; compounded enclomiphene products are not FDA-approved. Pregnyl (hCG) has an approved use for selected cases of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism — low testosterone caused by deficient pituitary signals. If your diagnosis was never properly confirmed

Low testosterone is diagnosed from symptoms or signs plus consistently low testosterone confirmed by repeat early-morning fasting blood tests. The test method and appropriate reference range matter; one number, such as 300 ng/dL, is not a universal diagnosis. One afternoon test and a quiz don't meet that bar. If that's how you started, switching clinics carries the gap with you. Ask a clinician to review it. Don't stop treatment on your own to "re-test." Endocrine Society guideline

Who needs clinician review before a routine transfer

A history of prostate or breast cancer, elevated hematocrit (the share of blood made up of red blood cells), untreated severe sleep apnea, a recent heart attack or stroke, or signs of a pituitary or testicular problem need clinician review before a routine transfer. The clinician decides whether specialist care or an in-person assessment is needed; a heart attack or stroke within the past six months is among the Endocrine Society's reasons not to start testosterone. New chest pain, trouble breathing or stroke symptoms need 911. Endocrine Society guideline · Heart attack symptoms · Stroke symptoms

What did we actually verify?

We checked every provider fact on this page against the companies' own live pages on October 13, 2026, and every medical and legal statement against primary sources. We did not enroll, pay or receive treatment anywhere, so this is a comparison of published terms — not a hands-on review.

Last verified: October 13, 2026

Verified on official pages (provider-stated — we confirmed what each company publishes, not how it delivers care):

  • PrimeBody: $129 starting price; 3% processing fee; separate lab charges; 30-day written notice; possible final payment; no hold or freeze; no early controlled-substance refills; no insurance or superbills; results available via Labcorp; 24-hour reply window excluding weekends; office hours; "$400 credit / 6 month obligatory engagement" banner; "contracts@" intake instruction; ambassador "under contract" terms; conflicting state lists; 10-item lab list under New York instructions; TGPrimebody, LLC named in website Terms of Use (dated September 24, 2019)
  • Male Excel: $99 consultation; $99/month membership; medication from $120 (injection) or $132 (cream) per month, 60-day supplies billed every other month, shipping extra; 6-month blood testing and 60-day assessments included; pause option; phone hours; 11 excluded states; compounded and not FDA-approved; five-marker starting kit; prescribe-before-results wording; guarantee terms
  • Hone Health: Plus and Premium prices, tests and inclusions; $45/$50 Plus confirmation conflict; $25 Premium confirmation; 90-day outside-lab policy; Basic excludes hormone therapy; state table; compounded cypionate disclosure; separate membership/order cancellation; Consult History export
  • TRT Nation: $99.99/month equivalent; 2.5-month minimum; $129 lab panel and current intake markers; conflicting follow-up schedules and state wording; 120-day outside-lab policy; provider-stated compounding pharmacy sourcing; age 24+; support hours; manual refill process; consultation-stage refund versus no-refund wording
  • Taurus Meds: $49 offer and homepage free-test offer; $149/month; "no membership fees" wording; §28 $17.99 fee per billing period; 72-hour cancellation notice; refund policy and exclusions; named pharmacies and partner; FDA-approved and compounded statements that do not identify the assigned product

Primary sources for medical and legal claims: DEA drug scheduling; the Federal Register telemedicine extension and current 42 CFR Part 12 through December 31, 2026; electronic prescription transfer rules in 21 CFR §1306.08; FDA guidance on compounded drugs; FDA-approved testosterone cypionate, clomiphene and Pregnyl labeling; the Endocrine Society testosterone therapy guideline; the AUA/ASRM male infertility guideline.

Our calculations: Every year-one number is our arithmetic from published prices, shown with its formula. None is a quote. They use the payment and testing assumptions stated beside each formula; they do not establish a full 365-day supply or every charge due within that period.

Couldn't confirm:

  • PrimeBody's lab prices, what $129 includes, its medication type and pharmacy, and whether its ordinary plans (not just the promotion) carry a minimum term
  • Male Excel's shipping charge, whether it accepts outside labs, additional or repeat diagnostic testing costs, and the assigned injection concentration, full formulation and dispensing pharmacy
  • Hone's actual monthly medication cost for a given prescription and which published Plus at-lab confirmation charge applies
  • TRT Nation's exact first-year purchase calendar, required test count, second diagnostic test charge and state-specific terms
  • Taurus's real all-in price, applicable entry offer, repeat and ongoing test costs, state/formulation availability and whether the assigned TRT medication is FDA-approved or compounded
  • Any provider's actual support response times, clinician licenses for your case, assigned pharmacy licensing, or cancellation experience; full-record request details and post-cancellation portal access where not published

Editorial judgments: The "best fit by reason for leaving" table and each "who should skip" list are our conclusions from the facts above. We don't assign provider scores. Our full method is How We Review TRT Providers. See also our editorial standards and privacy policy.

PrimeBody alternatives: frequently asked questions

These answers cover the remaining questions when comparing PrimeBody with other TRT options. They draw on published provider terms and the medical and legal sources linked above, checked October 13, 2026.

What is the best alternative to PrimeBody?

It depends on why you're leaving. For no contract and seven-day support, Male Excel. For labs included in the monthly fee, Hone Health. For the lowest advertised monthly equivalent, TRT Nation. For insurance, an FDA-approved product or fertility plans, an in-network doctor or the appropriate specialist.

What is the cheapest PrimeBody alternative?

Of the online options we priced, TRT Nation has the lowest advertised monthly equivalent at $99.99, with a 2.5-month minimum purchase and labs extra. The roughly $1,637 example assumes five orders and three $129 panels; it is not a confirmed complete yearly bill. PrimeBody's $1,594.44 starting model looks lower, but it excludes labs and other unpriced items. A local doctor using insurance can cost less, depending on your plan.

Which PrimeBody alternatives have no contract?

Male Excel says "No Contract, Cancel Anytime," and Hone Health says "No long-term commitment: Cancel anytime." Confirm when charges stop: prescription orders have separate deadlines and refund limits, and Hone requires membership and medication cancellations separately. TRT Nation sells in 2.5-month minimum orders. Taurus's plan length and fees need written confirmation before you pay.

How do I cancel PrimeBody?

Send written notice by email or portal message to your patient care coordinator at least 30 days ahead. A final payment may be due if a billing date falls inside that window. Save a dated copy, and ask for your final charge date and any remaining promotion commitment in writing.

Can I use my PrimeBody lab results with a new provider?

Possibly. PrimeBody's results are available in the Labcorp patient portal. TRT Nation may accept results within 120 days with all required markers; Hone may accept results within 90 days but still charges for its entry package. Male Excel's outside-lab acceptance was not confirmed. Ask each provider, using your exact draw date and report, before you pay for new labs.

Can I transfer my PrimeBody prescription?

A pharmacy transfer and a change of clinician are different. Federal rules allow certain electronic controlled-substance prescriptions to transfer once between pharmacies for initial filling, subject to conditions and state law. A new clinician still must review your care and decide whether to prescribe. Ask your pharmacist and clinician which process applies and how to plan the timing.

Does any PrimeBody alternative take insurance?

PrimeBody, Male Excel and Hone publish cash-pay service terms. Hone permits some prescriptions through your own pharmacy, where coverage depends on the product and plan; that does not cover its membership. Male Excel says FSA, HSA or HRA funds may be usable. For insurance coverage, start with an in-network primary-care doctor, urologist or endocrinologist and check visits, labs and medication separately.

Is PrimeBody's testosterone FDA-approved?

PrimeBody's public pages don't say. They mention U.S.-based pharmacies but don't name the product or the pharmacy. Ask before you pay. Compounded testosterone is not FDA-approved.

Is Hone Health available in New York?

Hone's Premium plan is listed for New York; its Plus plan is not, according to Hone's state table updated September 4, 2026. Check the current table before signing up.

Is PrimeBody the same as Prime TRT or Prime Body Solutions?

No. This page covers PrimeBody at primebody.com; its 2019 website terms name TGPrimebody, LLC and a Scottsdale address. Prime TRT at primetrt.co separately advertises prescription telehealth TRT, so the name is not unique to an over-the-counter supplement. Prime Body Solutions is a separate hormone and weight-loss clinic in Liberty Lake, near Spokane, Washington.

Will switching from PrimeBody cause a gap in my TRT?

It can, even if you start intake early. Ask the new clinician to agree on a transition plan, then coordinate PrimeBody's notice period, remaining supply and any new prescription and delivery. Intake payment alone does not guarantee treatment or arrival. Never stretch, skip or change doses on your own.

The current temporary federal exception permits qualifying testosterone prescribing through a real-time audio-video visit without a prior in-person exam through December 31, 2026. It does not establish what requirements will apply to your later visit; federal and state rules then in force control. Ask any provider what happens to your care if an in-person visit becomes necessary.
