TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine: Which Online TRT Clinic Fits You?

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine: compare TRT Nation first for its published injection price—$99.99 monthly with a 2.5-month minimum. Compare Viking for its free first HRT consult or listed oral Kyzatrex. Neither has a verified complete first-year total here. Your state, testing, fertility plans, and written refund terms can change the choice.123

Best for: U.S. adult men comparing these two clinics for testosterone-deficiency care, including patients considering a transfer. Not for you if: you need a diagnosis from this comparison, an emergency refill, or care for bodybuilding or nonmedical use. Women's care, adolescent care, and gender-affirming care need their own clinical framework.

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 1: Comparison
TRT Nation Viking Alternative Medicine
Best reason to compare it A published injection starting price A no-added-fee initial HRT consult or an FDA-approved oral option to discuss
Key price constraint About $250 minimum purchase, before separately purchased labs; California pricing may vary No fixed patient-specific price before the plan is quoted
Not for you if Its public exclusions include your state: AL, AK, AR, MO, ND, or HI Its public exclusions include your state: AL, HI, or MS
Complete first-year cost Not established from the public pages Not established from the public pages

The fit judgments above are ours. Prices, exclusions, and consultation terms are provider-stated; Kyzatrex's FDA approval is independently confirmed.14256

Here's the catch before you pay: both clinics publish no-refund terms, but TRT Nation also advertises a conditional refund. Its cost/process page says a full refund is issued if you and the provider decide after consultation that treatment is not a fit. Its formal policy reserves no refunds. Get the applicable terms in writing. So the real decision isn't "which is cheaper." It's "which one am I sure about before I pay?" That's what this page is built to settle.789

  • You live in Alabama or Hawaii. Both clinics' public lists exclude you. Jump to other care routes →
  • You live in Mississippi — TRT Nation's published list includes it; Viking's excludes it. Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri, or North Dakota — Viking's list includes them; TRT Nation's excludes them. Confirm your exact treatment and clinician availability before paying.45
  • You've had only one testosterone test before a new diagnosis, or you want kids soon. Start with a clinician's evaluation first. Here's why →

What we actually verified — October 15, 2026
We checked public pricing, lab, medication, state, staff, and policy pages, plus the medical and regulatory sources linked below. We confirmed what those pages publish—not individual care quality. Complete personal quotes, assigned-prescriber and dispensing-pharmacy licenses, response times, and records-export performance were not independently confirmed. We did not receive care, place an order, or test a patient portal.

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine: what differs at a glance?

TRT Nation publishes an injection starting price and says virtual consultations, supplies, and shipping are included. Viking quotes a treatment plan, publishes more frequent first-year lab checks, and lists Kyzatrex. Those differences do not prove that either clinic provides better care or a lower complete bill.1811123

We read more than 25 public pages across both websites on October 15, 2026. The provider facts below come from those pages. Where a clinic's own website says two different things, we flag it with ⚠.

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

What will TRT Nation and Viking really cost in year one?

Neither clinic has a verified complete first-year total from these public pages. TRT Nation's published rate supports a starting subtotal, while Viking's plan-specific price and lab charges need a quote. Refill dates, separate diagnostic tests, and any required extras can change the bill.

Our year-one math

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 3: Our year-one math
Your situation TRT Nation Viking Alternative Medicine
Testosterone only, labs through the clinic $99.99 advertised monthly rate plus separately priced labs; complete first-year cash total not established Complete first-year cash total not established; quote the treatment and each required panel
You bring your own first lab results One accepted outside panel may avoid one $129 purchase; it does not make required testing free May need only missing markers; savings depend on the actual order and price
Testosterone + hCG $180 advertised monthly rate; about $450 minimum purchase before separately purchased labs Not published as a fixed matched package. Ask for a written quote.
Known starting components About $379 for the minimum testosterone purchase plus one $129 panel; not a complete onboarding quote Initial HRT consult at no added cost; treatment purchase and lab bill need a quote

How we got these numbers

We used published prices for the known components. The examples below show the assumptions rather than turning them into a promised bill.

TRT Nation:

  • Each minimum purchase is 2.5 × $99.99 = about $250. Twelve advertised monthly rates equal $1,199.88, before separately purchased labs. That is a rate comparison, not a first-year payment schedule.
  • If each order truly lasts 2.5 calendar months, you'd place 5 orders in your first 12 months. That's about $1,250 paid for treatment, including supply extending beyond the year. This assumes the first purchase starts the year and later purchases are due at months 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10.
  • A hypothetical 10-week order cycle would instead put six purchases inside 365 days, or about $1,500. That is about $125 a month in first-year cash, not $108. A lab check at 10 weeks does not establish a 10-week supply or refill schedule; confirm actual purchase dates before using this scenario.
  • Three $129 panels would cost $387. The FAQ describes baseline testing plus follow-ups, but a separate diagnostic draw, added markers, and the clinician's schedule can change the number and price. Three panels are an example—not a verified complete lab allowance.11314

The arithmetic can be reproduced without claiming these are complete costs:

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 4: How we got these numbers
Conditional example only Treatment purchases Three assumed $129 panels Known-component subtotal
Testosterone, five purchases at about $250 About $1,250 $387 About $1,637
Testosterone, six purchases at about $250 About $1,500 $387 About $1,887
Testosterone + hCG, five purchases at $450 $2,250 $387 $2,637
Testosterone + hCG, six purchases at $450 $2,700 $387 $3,087

These rows are separate billing scenarios, not a verified price range. They exclude any required charge not established here. Bringing one accepted outside panel would reduce a three-panel example by $129 only if no replacement testing is needed; what you paid for those outside labs still counts in your own budget.

Viking:

  • Viking says most patients pay $100–$150 a month. That's $1,200–$1,800 when multiplied by 12. This range covers men and women, so treat it as a ballpark, not a quote. It is not identified as a medication-only charge or a complete male-TRT package.15
  • Its current lab-cost page gives no fixed dollar amount. The $199 panel on its self-published comparison has a different, larger marker list. It cannot stand in for every starting or follow-up order.1617
  • At an unchanged 10–12-week interval, a 52-week example has four to five follow-up draws. Adding a baseline draw makes five to six draws, before any separate diagnostic confirmation or extra testing. The clinician's actual schedule can differ. Without the prices for those specific orders, there is no defensible complete Viking annual total.12

We recalculated every number on October 15, 2026. Promo codes are left out on purpose. TRT Nation runs "today only" discount banners, and a countdown isn't a price you can plan a year around.1

Why "$99 a month" isn't what you'll see on your card

At TRT Nation, you pay for 2.5 months at a time — about $250 per order. Its policy says each purchase is charged for the full 2.5-month period, and refills don't happen automatically. You request each one.17

At Viking, you won't get a firm personal price from the general range. Viking says no one will charge you without explaining the cost first. So get your number in writing.11

What's still not settled (and could move the totals)

TRT Nation: the actual refill/payment dates, all required diagnostic and follow-up testing, your California quote if applicable, and any other checkout charges. Its cost/process page lists medication, supplies, shipping, and unlimited virtual consultations as included; confirm those inclusions for the exact offer you accept.87

Viking: your exact medication price, the hCG price if prescribed, each lab order, follow-up visit charges, shipping, and how often you're billed. The free initial HRT consultation is not a promise of free laboratory testing or medication.21116

Can insurance pay for any of this?

Treat these published clinic offers as self-pay, not insurance copays. Viking expressly says it does not bill insurance or Medicare, but says HSA/FSA funds may be used subject to account rules. Its new-patient page also offers a lab-order form at no charge for submission to insurance; the order form is not free lab work or a coverage guarantee.1819

For either clinic, separate the clinic bill, laboratory bill, and prescription benefit when checking with your insurer. An outside lab claim does not make the clinic in-network. If you need insurance to pay, an in-network primary care doctor or urologist is usually the better starting route; the insurer still decides coverage.

If you'd rather discuss a custom plan first, start Viking's intake review and ask for a written, itemized quote →

Does TRT Nation or Viking serve your state?

Both clinics' current public lists exclude Alabama and Hawaii. Viking lists Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri, and North Dakota, which TRT Nation's homepage excludes; TRT Nation's list includes Mississippi, which Viking excludes. These are provider-stated service areas, not confirmation that an individual clinician and exact product are available to you.45

Sources: TRT Nation homepage FAQ and Viking states we serve. Checked October 15, 2026. This is a comparison of the 50 states; these lists do not settle availability in Washington, D.C., or U.S. territories. A state appearing in a form is not proof that treatment is available there.

One rule to check with both: where you will physically be during the visit, not just your home or mailing address. Viking says you must be physically located in a state it serves during consultation and have medication shipped to a served state. State licensing requirements still apply when you travel.520

Yes, with a valid prescription and a lawful clinical evaluation. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance, and a clinician must have the authority required for the prescription and the state involved.2122

The federal temporary extension runs through December 31, 2026. It permits qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe Schedule II–V medications through audio-video telemedicine without a prior in-person examination, subject to the rule and applicable federal and state law. The separate audio-only allowance described by DEA concerns certain opioid-use-disorder medicines; it is not blanket permission for telephone-only testosterone prescribing.22

An intake questionnaire or a clinic's "phone or video" wording does not establish that every visit meets those rules. Ask which visit format is required for your prescription and whether your clinical situation or state requires an in-person assessment. This comparison does not independently clear either clinic's individual prescribers in every state.2022

The cited extension does not establish the rules for 2027. If you're starting now, ask either clinic: "What's your plan if the federal rule changes?"

Live in Alabama or Hawaii? Both public lists exclude your state. See what else may fit →

Before you pick either: has your low testosterone been confirmed?

The Endocrine Society says diagnosis needs compatible symptoms or signs plus consistently low testosterone, confirmed with accurate testing on at least two early-morning, fasting draws. One symptom list, one number, or a quiz is not enough. Before a new treatment decision, ask the clinician how any missing diagnostic confirmation will be done and billed.2324

It matters more than which clinic you pick.

In July 2026, the Endocrine Society restated its standard: diagnosis needs symptoms of low testosterone and low levels confirmed on at least two early-morning, fasting tests. Symptoms alone don't count. Reversible contributors, such as obesity or medicines, also need evaluation rather than being assumed to require testosterone (Endocrine Society statement, July 16, 2026; 2018 guideline).

A few terms you'll see on lab orders:

  • Total testosterone — all the testosterone in your blood.
  • Free testosterone — the small part not attached to proteins.
  • Hematocrit — how much of your blood is red blood cells. Testosterone can push it up, which is why clinics recheck it.
  • PSA (prostate-specific antigen) — a blood marker considered in prostate assessment. It does not diagnose cancer on its own; testing depends on age, risk, and discussion with your clinician.2425

What each clinic says it does:

  • TRT Nation says its process follows two separate morning blood tests before prescribing. That is a provider-stated process, not an independently observed diagnostic assessment. Ask which existing results count and what each required draw costs; the advertised panel price does not establish that both collection dates are included.813
  • Viking lists a broad starting panel, including total and free testosterone. A panel list does not establish two separate collection dates. Ask whether existing results satisfy diagnostic confirmation and which further draw, if any, is needed.26

Already taking TRT? Give the new clinician your original diagnostic results and current treatment records. Do not stop or change medication on your own to repeat an untreated diagnostic workup; the clinician must decide how to assess a transfer.2724

Start with primary care, urology, or endocrinology rather than a price-led purchase if:

  • A clinician has flagged a very low result or other abnormal tests that need investigation.
  • You have headaches or vision changes along with low testosterone.
  • You've had prostate or breast cancer.
  • Your hematocrit is already high.
  • You have untreated severe sleep apnea.
  • You've had a recent heart attack or stroke.

These are reasons for an individual clinical assessment, not diagnoses or automatic conclusions about every person's eligibility. Sudden severe symptoms need urgent or emergency care rather than a routine online intake.2425

Under 24? TRT Nation's lab-order page excludes you. That is the clinic's age policy, not a universal medical cutoff. Younger adults need an appropriate clinician-led evaluation; adolescents need age-appropriate care.13

Want the details? Read how low testosterone is diagnosed and why two tests matter.

Which one should you pick?

Start with TRT Nation for a published injection quote, or Viking for its no-added-fee initial HRT consultation and listed oral testosterone option. Neither has proved a complete-cost or care-quality win in this research. Your state, diagnostic workup, fertility plans, and written care terms can change the choice.123

Find your row:

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 7: Which one should you pick?
If you… Lean toward Why
Want an injection price you can see before paying Compare TRT Nation's offer first $99.99/month is published, with a minimum purchase and separate labs; it is not a complete-cost guarantee
Already have recent labs Ask both to review them Both accept outside results subject to clinical review; acceptance windows conflict
Feel nervous and want closer follow-up Compare clinician access at both Viking publishes more frequent labs; that alone does not prove longer visits or faster answers
Want a first HRT consult at no added fee Viking is worth checking It states this directly; confirm any lab cost needed before consultation
Don't want to inject Discuss Viking's Kyzatrex option It lists an FDA-approved oral testosterone product; confirm suitability, availability, and the full price
Have already discussed testosterone + hCG with a clinician Compare TRT Nation's published bundle $180/month is listed; the price does not establish a fertility-preserving plan
Live in Mississippi TRT Nation is the listed option of these two Viking's current state list excludes it
Live in Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri, or North Dakota Viking is the listed option of these two TRT Nation's current homepage excludes them
Need insurance to pay Start with an in-network clinician These published offers are not verified insurance-covered packages
Want biological children now or later Discuss fertility before a general TRT purchase A fertility-aware clinician or reproductive urologist should help shape the plan (details below)

These are editorial fit judgments based on the dated evidence above—not clinical endorsements or a promise of approval.

The honest catch with TRT Nation

TRT Nation's published price is clearer than its complete first-year payment schedule. Its formal refund policy also conflicts with the refund promise on its cost/process page. Resolve both before paying.178

Its cost/process page lists unlimited virtual consultations, and its FAQ describes messaging the care team between appointments. We did not test appointment length, who answers each message, or response times. A short-consult review cannot establish the care every patient receives—or explain why the program costs what it does.814

Ask both clinics: "Who reviews my results, who answers between visits, how do I reach the prescribing clinician, and what happens if I need an extra appointment?" More frequent lab orders are not an answer to those access questions.

How often will each clinic check your blood?

TRT Nation's FAQ and cost/process page disagree about the stable-treatment interval: annually versus every six months. Viking describes checks every 10–12 weeks in year one, then every six months when stable. Neither calendar alone proves that an individual's monitoring meets clinical guidance.14812

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 8: How often will each clinic check your blood?
Endocrine Society guidance TRT Nation's published process Viking's published process
First recheck Testosterone and hematocrit monitoring at 3–6 months, with timing tailored to treatment About 10 weeks About 10–12 weeks
Later checks Technical guidance includes 12 months and annually thereafter; clinical review and other tests depend on the person FAQ: six months after the first lab appointment, then annually; cost/process page: every six months once stable Typically every 10–12 weeks in year one, then every six months when stable
Lab draws in year one No universal count of identical full panels Get the actual schedule, including diagnostic confirmation An unchanged 10–12-week example gives five to six draws including baseline; the actual plan can differ

Sources: Endocrine Society full guideline, monitoring section and Table 9; TRT Nation FAQs, cost/process; Viking follow-up labs.

More checks isn't automatically better care. Fewer checks isn't automatically worse. The useful comparison is which tests you need, who reviews them, and what happens when results or symptoms need attention. Both clinics list a CBC (complete blood count), which includes hematocrit. If it's rising, you want to know. Read more about high hematocrit on TRT.132625

Blood tests are not the whole safety plan. Testosterone can raise blood pressure; FDA required class-wide labeling changes about that risk. Ask how blood pressure, symptoms, adverse effects, and any appropriate prostate assessment will be monitored, including with an oral product.282925

Viking's lab-services and new-patient pages contain shorter marker lists than its current men's-TRT fact page. Get the actual requisition—the order listing your tests—and its price. A missing marker from an advertised package does not prove a clinician will never order it, and a longer panel does not prove better care.301926

Can you use labs you already have?

Yes, at both — but each clinic's own website gives different age limits. TRT Nation's FAQ says typically within 120 days, while its homepage says up to six months. Viking's current fact pages generally say 60 days, while its lab-services page says under six months. Ask the clinical team to review the dates and markers before paying for new labs; even recent results may not meet every requirement.1441630

At TRT Nation, you pick Labcorp or Quest when you order, and you can't change it after paying.13

Is the testosterone compounded or FDA-approved?

TRT Nation says it sources medicines from licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies, but that does not identify the exact testosterone product a patient will receive. Viking lists FDA-approved oral Kyzatrex; the approval status of its patient-specific injectable product was not established. Ask for the exact product and dispensing pharmacy before accepting either plan.14316

Two words you'll want straight:

  • FDA-approved means the FDA reviewed that exact product for safety, how well it works, and how it's made, and approved its label.
  • Compounded means a drug is prepared or altered to meet a patient's needs. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not verify their safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing (FDA compounding Q&A).

That doesn't make compounded testosterone fake or automatically unlawful. It means it's a different category, and you should know which one you're getting. Lawful compounding still has conditions; a pharmacy's description is not product-level approval.32

Kyzatrex is an oral capsule of testosterone undecanoate. The FDA approved it on July 27, 2022 (Drugs@FDA, NDA 213953). Viking lists it on its medication page. A listing doesn't promise it's in stock or right for you. Ask your clinician.

Non-testosterone medicines are a separate decision

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 11: Non-testosterone medicines are a separate decision
Medicine What the clinics list What the label or approval status means
hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) TRT Nation lists a testosterone + hCG bundle at $180/month; Viking lists hCG without a matched fixed price Approved hCG products have specific indications, including selected male cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism—a hormone-signal problem. That is not approval of every TRT add-on plan or a fertility guarantee.
Enclomiphene TRT Nation lists a separate oral offer at $99.99/month; Viking also lists it Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved. It is not oral testosterone, and compounded enclomiphene is not an FDA-approved drug used off-label.
Clomiphene Viking lists it FDA-approved clomiphene is labeled for ovulatory dysfunction in women seeking pregnancy; use in men is off-label, meaning outside the approved use. It is not TRT.
Other add-ons Viking lists anastrozole and gonadorelin, among other medicines A menu listing does not establish approval of the exact product or its proposed use in your plan. Ask what each item is for; do not treat these as interchangeable fertility medicines or testosterone formats.

Sources: TRT Nation offers, Viking medication list, hCG prescribing information, FDA clomiphene labeling, and Operation Supplement Safety's clomiphene/enclomiphene status review, checked October 15, 2026.

Viking's menu is long. It also includes BPC-157, which is not testosterone. FDA flags potential immune reactions, peptide impurities, and insufficient human safety information for compounded BPC-157. A longer menu isn't the same as more evidence. If anything is added to your plan, ask why.3133

Ask both clinics: "What exact product will I get, who makes it, and which pharmacy fills it?"

What if you want kids?

Testosterone therapy can lower sperm production, so bring up fertility before you start at either clinic. Both list hCG and enclomiphene, but a menu does not prove that fertility will be protected. Future plans matter too—not just trying to conceive within a fixed one-year window.2434131

Here's why. Testosterone from outside your body can suppress LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone). Those signals help drive spermatogenesis, which is just the word for making sperm. Turn them down, and sperm production can drop, sometimes to no sperm in the ejaculate.34

What each clinic offers:

  • TRT Nation: testosterone + hCG at $180/month. It also lists enclomiphene as a separate oral product.
  • Viking: lists hCG and enclomiphene. Whether either belongs alongside or instead of testosterone requires a clinician's assessment—not selection from a price table.131

hCG and enclomiphene are not the same as testosterone therapy, and they're not interchangeable with each other. A clinic add-on is not a fertility plan.

The AUA/ASRM male-infertility guidance advises against testosterone monotherapy for men interested in current or future fertility. That does not turn testosterone plus an add-on into a guaranteed safe alternative. Fertility outcomes and any recovery after treatment vary.34

If kids are in your plans, a reproductive urologist can assess sperm and hormones as appropriate, discuss whether sperm banking belongs in the plan, and help choose a care approach. Read does TRT affect fertility? and hCG online for men.

Refunds, refills, and switching: what happens if you want out?

Viking's refund page says there are no refunds. TRT Nation's formal policy reserves no refunds, while its cost/process page promises a full refund when treatment is not a fit after consultation. At TRT Nation you request every refill yourself; switching to Viking does not guarantee your current plan carries over.97827

This is a major financial risk on both sides, so read the applicable terms before you pay.

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 12: Refunds, refills, and switching: what happens if you want out?
TRT Nation Viking
Refunds Formal no-refund terms conflict with a published not-a-fit refund promise; get written confirmation of the exception and covered charges "There are no refunds."
What you're committing to Each purchase is charged for the full 2.5-month period; terms allow other charges disclosed at purchase Your quoted plan; billing and supply intervals need confirmation
Refills You request each one online; no auto-refill Refill form online; confirm when lab results and payment are needed
Missed appointment No specific fee established from the reviewed pages $25 if you don't cancel ahead
Cancellation No automatic refill does not erase charges already owed; terms also address delinquent-account collection costs Says no cancellation fee; that does not mean paid treatment is refundable
Switching in Bring recent labs; provider reviews them Bring recent labs and your current plan; Viking may change it
Records and transfer out Secure request process, any permitted fee, and expected turnaround need confirmation Secure request process, any permitted fee, and expected turnaround need confirmation

What this means for you:

  • Treat your first TRT Nation purchase as potentially nonrefundable. About $250 for the minimum treatment purchase is on the line before any separate labs. Don't pay until the state, lab requirements, and applicable refund terms are clear.
  • Set a refill reminder at TRT Nation. Nothing is automatically refilled; you must request it.
  • At Viking, get the price in writing before you agree to treatment. Its no-refund policy makes that especially useful.
  • Switching clinics? Don't stop or change your medication on your own. Let the new clinician review your records and give you a plan first. Viking says a transfer does not guarantee it will keep your current protocol unchanged.17927

How do you avoid a records or refill gap?

Ask the current clinic for its secure medical-record request process, including original diagnostic labs, follow-up results, visit notes, prescription history, and the current care plan. Ask which records the new clinician needs, when review can happen, and what happens if more testing or an in-person visit is required. Do not assume that access to a portal means a complete record has been sent.

For either clinic, get the refill-request deadline, required lab-review deadline, pharmacy processing estimate, and shipping estimate separately. No same-day refill or uninterrupted transfer was verified here. For an urgent supply problem, contact your current prescriber rather than relying on a new clinic's marketing timeline.

Where do their own websites disagree?

The current conflicts concern lab acceptance, monitoring, panel contents, and TRT Nation's refund terms. Viking's general price range and a quote-specific price are different kinds of information, not automatically contradictory. The tables below separate a real mismatch from a number that simply does not answer your case.

We're not saying either clinic is acting in bad faith. Websites get messy. But when a purchase may be nonrefundable, you want the answer for your case in writing.

Viking Alternative Medicine

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 13: Viking Alternative Medicine
Topic What different Viking pages say Ask before paying
Monthly price Pricing page gives a $100–$150 range across men's and women's HRT; the cost fact page says no fixed prices because plans vary "What's my exact price, billing interval, and what's included?"
Lab price Current lab-cost page gives no fixed dollar amount; its TRT Nation comparison lists $199 for a larger panel "What will each panel in my plan cost?"
Panel contents Lab-services/new-patient lists are shorter than the current men's-TRT fact page, which also lists SHBG, LH, FSH, and more thyroid markers "Which exact markers are on my order?"
How old your labs can be Less than six months on lab services; generally within 60 days on current fact pages "Will you accept my labs?"
States The dedicated page lists 47 states and excludes AL, HI, MS; broad nationwide language elsewhere is less precise "Do you serve my state for this product today?"
Refill rhythm A comparison page describes automated quarterly labs/refills; the site also provides a refill-request form, and the monitoring fact page describes 10–12-week first-year checks "What must I request myself, and by what date?"

Viking's own "Viking vs TRT Nation" page is written by its owner. It's Viking's marketing, not an independent assessment of its competitor. It lists TRT Nation's lab panel at $129.99, while TRT Nation's live order page lists $129. It also characterizes TRT Nation's care and refill cycle in ways we did not independently verify.173513

TRT Nation

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 14: TRT Nation
Topic What different TRT Nation pages say Ask before paying
States Homepage excludes AL, AK, AR, MO, ND, HI; FAQ says most U.S. states "Do you serve my state for the exact treatment, before I buy labs?"
How old your labs can be Up to six months on the homepage; typically within 120 days in the FAQ "Will you accept my labs?"
Stable-treatment monitoring FAQ says annually after the early checks; cost/process page says every six months once stable "What is my actual schedule and lab budget?"
Refunds Formal policy reserves no refunds; cost/process page says a full refund follows a consultation when treatment is not a fit "Which charges would be returned, under which written terms?"
Price $99 appears in some headings; the treatment card states $99.99/month and a 2.5-month minimum Expect about $250 for the minimum purchase, before separate labs
Where medication comes from Homepage says regulated U.S. pharmacies; FAQ specifies compounding pharmacies "Which exact product and pharmacy would I receive?" Neither description alone settles product approval.
Urgency A limited-time sale banner appears on the treatment page Use the nonpromotional price for a long-term budget; do not let the banner decide a medical purchase

Five questions to send either clinic before you pay

Copy these into an email or chat:

  1. Do you serve my state today, and can you confirm that in writing?
  2. What will I pay in my first 12 months, including every lab draw, visit, and shipment?
  3. Is my testosterone compounded or an FDA-approved product, and which pharmacy fills it?
  4. Who will prescribe for me, and what's their license type and authority in the state where I'll be seen?
  5. How do you confirm low testosterone before starting, and how is a separate repeat morning test handled and priced?

Add the question that can cost you most: "What happens to each charge if you decide treatment is not right for me?"

Who prescribes, and is either one legit?

Both clinics publish active intake, pricing, and contact pages, and both describe licensed clinical staff. That confirms a public service offering—not a complete license, pharmacy, or care-quality audit. Check the assigned prescriber and dispensing pharmacy before treating a brand name or seal as proof of your own care arrangements.

TRT Nation (Nation Medical Inc., 12602 Telecom Drive, Tampa, FL; 813-413-1000) says its providers specialize in hormone and men's health care. The pages we read don't name individual prescribers. Its site displays a LegitScript link, but the linked checker did not return a verifiable certification result during this research; we therefore do not label certification as independently confirmed.71436

Viking Alternative Medicine (132 Chesterfield Towne Center, Chesterfield, MO; 210-826-8900) lists owner Sam Ridgeway, Medical Director Dr. Ana Lisa Carr, MD, and a clinical team of physician assistants (PA-C) and nurse practitioners (NP) on its staff page. These are Viking's staff descriptions, not independent confirmation of each person's active license in your state.

"Legit" doesn't mean "right for you." Once you know your prescriber's full name and license type, look up their current license on the relevant state medical, osteopathic, physician-assistant, or nursing board's website. Check the dispensing pharmacy through the relevant state pharmacy board too. A clinician may need state-specific authority even when the visit is online.20

Customer reviews: The providers display customer reviews or review-count claims on their sites. We did not independently authenticate the original review records or establish representative comparative patterns. Reviews can suggest questions about billing, shipping, and support; they do not establish clinical safety, typical results, or a refund policy.115

Not a fit for either?

If you live in Alabama or Hawaii, need insurance-led care, or cannot accept unclear refund terms, look beyond these two offers. An in-network primary care doctor or urologist is the better starting route for an insurance-first decision. Male Excel has a conditional membership-fee refund worth comparing—not a risk-free treatment promise.4537

Affiliate disclosure: Male Excel is a paid partner of TRT Provider Guide. We may earn a commission through paid links on our site. The link below opens our internal review; compensation does not change the terms or limitations described here.

If a conditional membership refund matters — Male Excel
Male Excel's membership is $99 a month and includes unlimited provider access, check-ins every 60 days, and blood testing every six months, according to its current site. Medication is billed separately, and it describes its testosterone as compounded—not FDA-approved. Its homepage lists these excluded states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.38

The 90-day guarantee covers only the first three months of membership fees, not all treatment spending. New members must participate for 90 continuous days, follow the plan and appointments, and request the refund within 30 days after that period. Male Excel evaluates the claim using its stated improvement criteria and may require adherence records. Medication and other nonmembership spending are outside that membership-fee promise.37

Male Excel directs members to contact Member Support to pause; it does not establish an instant self-service cancellation in the material reviewed. A full first-year quote, diagnostic process, assigned clinician, dispensing pharmacy, and record-transfer terms still need checking. These limited refund terms alone do not make it the better clinical choice.38

If you need insurance to pay — local care
An in-network primary care doctor, urologist, or endocrinologist can evaluate you and discuss covered testing and an FDA-approved product where appropriate. Your plan may require prior authorization or limit the product and pharmacy. A cash-pay clinic fee, an outside laboratory claim, and prescription coverage are separate questions; this comparison does not establish that either named clinic can never write a covered prescription.

How did we compare TRT Nation and Viking?

On October 15, 2026, we read both clinics' own pricing, FAQ, lab, state, staff, medication, refund, and comparison pages. We linked the facts to their sources, flagged current differences, and separated confirmed price components from conditional cost examples. We didn't receive care, place an order, or time support at either clinic.

What the evidence can—and cannot—show

TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine table 15: What the evidence can—and cannot—show
Evidence type What we checked What it supports
Provider-stated facts Published offers, terms, lab panels, schedules, state lists, staff descriptions, and medication menus What a clinic publicly says as of the check date—not guaranteed individual access or delivery
Independently established medical/regulatory facts FDA product approval and compounding information, DEA's schedule and extension, HHS state-licensing guidance, and specialty guidance The specific approval, rule, or clinical recommendation cited—not endorsement of a clinic
Customer-experience signals Provider-displayed reviews and claims Questions to investigate; original records and representative patterns were not independently confirmed
Our calculations Published rates, stated minimum purchases, and explicitly labeled payment/lab scenarios Reproducible component math—not an actual first-year invoice
Editorial conclusions Which verified differences answer a defined preference A conditional shortlist; no universal winner or numeric medical score

Not confirmed: complete personal quotes; the exact supply and payment calendar; patient-specific repeat-test charges; an assigned prescriber's state authority; the exact dispensing pharmacy and injectable product; support response times; and the records-export process. Viking's patient-specific medication, ongoing-visit, lab, and shipping charges also remain quote-dependent.

Our full method is How We Review TRT Providers. It separates verified facts, provider-stated facts, customer experience, and our own conclusions. It counts complete cost, not teaser prices. We don't give numeric scores, and being listed here isn't an endorsement.

What else should you know about TRT Nation vs Viking Alternative Medicine?

TRT Nation has the clearer published injection price; Viking offers an initial HRT consultation at no added fee and lists oral Kyzatrex. Neither difference proves a lower total bill or better care.123

Is TRT Nation cheaper than Viking?

A complete-cost winner is not established. TRT Nation's $99.99 advertised rate is clearer, but comparing it with Viking's general $100–$150 HRT range does not establish matched medication, lab, and visit costs. Use the same first-year quote worksheet for both.115

How much does TRT Nation really cost per month?

TRT Nation lists $99.99 a month, sold with a 2.5-month minimum of about $250. Its listed TRT lab panel is $129 separately. Confirm payment dates rather than assuming a monthly charge or using a 10-week lab check as the refill interval.113

How much does Viking Alternative Medicine cost?

Viking says most patients pay $100–$150 a month across men's and women's HRT, but it quotes the individual plan. Its current lab-cost page does not state a fixed price. The initial HRT consultation is at no added cost; labs and treatment still need an itemized quote.15162

What states does TRT Nation not serve?

TRT Nation's homepage lists Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Missouri, North Dakota, and Hawaii as exclusions. Its FAQ uses the broader phrase "most U.S. states." Confirm current service for your exact treatment before paying.414

What states does Viking not serve?

Alabama, Hawaii, and Mississippi, according to its current state page. Viking lists the other 47 states; that is provider-stated availability, not independent verification of each clinician and product.5

Do TRT Nation or Viking give refunds?

Viking's refund page says there are no refunds. TRT Nation's formal policy reserves no refunds, but its cost/process page promises a full refund when treatment is not a fit after consultation. Ask which charges that exception covers and obtain the applicable terms in writing.978

Is TRT Nation's testosterone compounded?

TRT Nation says its medicines come from licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies. The exact testosterone product you would receive is not confirmed by that pharmacy description. Ask for the product and pharmacy names; a compounded preparation is not FDA-approved.1432

Is Viking's testosterone FDA-approved?

Viking lists Kyzatrex, an FDA-approved oral testosterone. The reviewed information does not establish whether the injectable product a particular patient would receive is compounded or FDA-approved. Confirm the exact product rather than treating the clinic's entire medication menu as approved.316

Who prescribes at Viking?

Viking lists physician assistants and nurse practitioners and identifies Dr. Ana Lisa Carr as medical director. Those are the clinic's staff descriptions. Request your assigned prescriber's full name and verify the relevant state authority.3520

Can I use my own lab results?

Yes, subject to clinical review. TRT Nation's FAQ typically uses 120 days and Viking's current fact pages generally use 60 days, while other pages give six-month windows. Have the clinic confirm both collection dates and required markers before buying another panel.1441630

Do TRT Nation or Viking take insurance?

Do not assume the advertised clinic offers are insurance-covered. Viking expressly says it does not bill insurance or Medicare. Separately ordered labs or a pharmacy claim may have different coverage rules; check with the clinic, lab, pharmacy, and your plan before relying on reimbursement.1819

Can I get hCG at both clinics?

Both list it. TRT Nation lists testosterone plus hCG at $180 a month with a minimum purchase; Viking does not publish a matched fixed package price in the sources reviewed. Listing hCG does not guarantee a prescription or preserved fertility.13134

How old do you have to be for TRT Nation?

24 or older under its published lab-order eligibility policy. Age alone does not establish that TRT is medically appropriate.13

Yes, when the evaluation and prescription meet applicable law. Testosterone is Schedule III. The current federal extension permits qualifying audio-video prescribing without a prior in-person exam through December 31, 2026; state requirements and individual prescribing authority still apply.2122

Which clinic treats women?

Viking lists women's HRT. TRT Nation also advertises services for women, including weight management, so it is not accurate to describe the entire business as men-only. That does not establish women's testosterone treatment availability; this comparison's diagnostic framework is for adult men evaluating testosterone deficiency.3114

Can either clinic guarantee my current prescription when I switch?

No such guarantee was established. The new clinician must review the records, testing, health history, and legal requirements. Viking expressly says a transfer does not guarantee the same protocol. Arrange the handoff with your current and prospective clinicians rather than changing medication yourself.27
