Kyzatrex Reviews: Does the Testosterone Pill Work, and Is It Right for You?

Kyzatrex raised average testosterone into the study's normal range in 88% of men. That does not predict symptom relief. The catch: Drugs.com had zero Kyzatrex reviews when we checked. It's an option to discuss after a proper diagnosis, if its blood-pressure risk, meal routine and full cost fit your care plan. 1 16

That last part matters more than it sounds. The sources we checked mix manufacturer claims, clinic pages, patient comments, and clinical research. Below, you'll see what each checked source actually says, what the ads skip, what it really costs, and whether you're the kind of man it fits.

Kyzatrex is worth discussing with a prescriber if you:

  • Have symptoms or signs plus repeatedly low early-morning testosterone, with the cause evaluated by a clinician
  • Don't want needles or a gel that can rub off on your partner or kids
  • Want an FDA-approved product, not a compounded one
  • Can follow the prescribed with-food routine, usually morning and evening

Not for you, or needs a different first step, if you:

  • Have high blood pressure that isn't under control
  • Are trying to conceive or plan children soon
  • Have breast cancer or known or suspected prostate cancer
  • Need a plan below the advertised $179–$229 monthly program prices

What we actually verified

We checked the drug evidence, review sources and public offers listed below on October 21, 2026. Public prices and policies are provider-stated; they are not a tested care experience or a personal quote.

Verified from primary or official sources:

  • The current Kyzatrex prescribing information on DailyMed (issued August 2026, updated October 5, 2026). That includes approval status, warnings, trial results, blood pressure data, listed strengths, and the July 2025 removal of the boxed warning. The FDA product record separately identifies the 100 mg strength as discontinued. 1 2
  • The FDA's June 18, 2026 request to change testosterone labels, as announced by HHS. 6
  • DEA's extension of telemedicine prescribing flexibilities through December 31, 2026. 19

Checked directly on the source page:

  • Review counts on Drugs.com and on the Trustpilot pages for Thrive and Henry Meds.
  • The marketing claims on Kyzatrex.com and GetKYZATREX.com.

Provider-stated, not independently confirmed:

  • Program prices, what's included, state limits, age limits, commitments and cancellation terms. These come from Henry Meds, GetKYZATREX and Marley Drug's own pages.

What we could not confirm:

  • A large, independently verified set of Kyzatrex patient reviews in the named sources we checked.
  • How many Henry Meds reviewers take Kyzatrex.
  • Any individual's final quote, assigned clinician, dispensing pharmacy, or result.
  • Complete repeat-testing coverage, refill timing, refund outcomes, or current license status for every clinician and pharmacy named in these offers.

We did not enroll in a program, buy the medicine, or test anyone's support line. Our method is explained in How We Review TRT Providers.

Kyzatrex reviews: what's the verdict?

Kyzatrex is a legitimate, FDA-approved testosterone capsule. It raised average testosterone into the study's normal range for most men in its main trial. Its real trade-offs are blood-pressure risk, a with-food routine that is usually twice daily, and the full cost of ongoing care. 1

For the right man, it's a good choice. It isn't an automatic upgrade over shots or gels.

Here's our read in five lines:

Kyzatrex reviews table 2: Kyzatrex reviews: what's the verdict?
Question Our take What it's based on
Does it raise testosterone? Yes, for most men studied 88% normal average T at day 90 (FDA label)
Is it safe? Risks need clinical review and monitoring; blood pressure is one key issue Label warnings and a dedicated 24-hour BP study
Is it convenient? No needles or gel; usually morning and evening with food Label dosing directions
Do real users back it up? Too little drug-specific review evidence in the checked sources Our review-source count below
Is it good value? Worth comparing if the pill format matters to you The advertised prices below; value depends on your full quote and format preference

Pros

  • FDA-approved. This is not a compounded product.
  • No needles, no injection-site soreness, and no gel that can transfer to family.
  • Your prescriber can individualize treatment using blood-test results.
  • It was studied with 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.
  • The label says it is not known to cause liver problems. 1
  • The two programs below advertise care, lab and medication bundles.

Cons

  • A daily with-food routine, usually morning and evening.
  • It can raise blood pressure. The average rise was bigger in men already on blood pressure medicine in the study.
  • The advertised online plans cost $179–$229 a month before any charges outside the package.
  • It can lower sperm count.
  • Evidence specifically for men 65 and older is limited.
  • The checked sources offer little independent, drug-specific patient-review evidence.

The one thing Kyzatrex doesn't have yet

The sources we checked do not offer a large Kyzatrex patient-review history. If a long track record matters most to you, generic testosterone injections are the better-known path. Men have used them for decades, and our oral testosterone vs. injections guide lays that option out.

But for the man who's put off treatment because of needles, or because a gel could rub off on his kids, the trade can still make sense. Kyzatrex gives you FDA-approved testosterone in a capsule. Your prescriber can fine-tune the dose instead of locking you into one size. And blood pressure, a key safety concern, was measured around the clock instead of guessed at. 5

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to explore online programs, and take the questions below to the appropriate clinician. It won't confirm Kyzatrex access or decide whether TRT is right for you. A clinician does that.

Why are there so few real Kyzatrex reviews?

The manufacturer promotes cash-pay access, and the clinic reviews we inspected do not establish how patients rate Kyzatrex itself. When we checked on October 21, 2026, Drugs.com had no Kyzatrex reviews at all. The clinical studies below provide evidence about the drug, but they are not patient reviews. 11 16

We checked the named sources below and recorded what each could tell us.

What this means for you: If a site shows you a star rating for Kyzatrex, ask where it came from. We did not find a large, independently verified pool of Kyzatrex patient ratings in these sources. The trial data is stronger evidence about treatment effects than anonymous ratings. If treatment is prescribed, ask how your symptoms, labs and blood pressure will be reviewed together.

How to spot a weak "Kyzatrex review"

  • It shows a star rating but doesn't name its source.
  • It quotes "96% effective" and never mentions 88%.
  • It says there are "no side effects."
  • Every link goes to the same sign-up page.

Does Kyzatrex actually work?

Yes, at raising testosterone: in the main trial, 122 of 139 men (88%) had a normal average testosterone level over 24 hours at day 90. That primary endpoint measured hormone levels. It does not tell us how many men felt better. 1 4

The study behind Kyzatrex's approval was called MRS-TU-2019EXT. Every man started at the same dose, and doctors adjusted it around days 28 and 56 based on blood levels. Here's what happened at day 90, straight from the FDA label:

Kyzatrex reviews table 4: Does Kyzatrex actually work?
Result at day 90 Share of men
Average testosterone in the study's normal plasma range (222–800 ng/dL) 88% (95% confidence interval: 82%–93%)
Peak level at or below 1,200 ng/dL 88%
Peak level between 1,440 and 2,000 ng/dL 4%
Peak level above 2,000 ng/dL 0%

"Average" here means the level across a full day, not one blood draw. That matters because a pill makes your level rise and fall around each dose. 1

The confidence interval describes uncertainty in the trial's group estimate, not your personal odds. The peak rows show selected exposure criteria, not a full distribution; available peak data covered 130 men. The 222–800 range is specific to the study's plasma test, not a diagnostic cutoff or treatment target for you. 1 4

88% or 96%: which number is right?

Both are real. They just count different groups of men.

  • 88% counts all 139 men in the main analysis. Anyone with a missing result was counted as a failure. This is the cautious number, and it's the one in the FDA label's results table.
  • 96% counts only the 127 men who completed the Day 90 assessment. Men without that result are not in this calculation.

There's one more wrinkle. The study started with 155 men. Sixteen were excluded from the effectiveness analysis because of how one study site handled blood samples; they remained in the safety analysis. The FDA looked at that issue and still approved the drug. 3 4

Our take: Use 88% as the more conservative summary of this trial. It is not a prediction of your personal response. When an ad leads with 96%, that's the friendlier way to count. Neither number tells you how likely you are to feel better.

Will you actually feel better?

Maybe, but this is where the evidence gets thinner. A separate 52-week study compared the oral Kyzatrex formulation with AndroGel: 214 men received the oral treatment and 100 received gel. Both groups reported improvements in some measures of well-being and sexual function. The results were exploratory and published as a conference abstract by authors affiliated with Marius. Everyone knew which treatment they received, and there was no placebo group. That makes it hard to separate the drug's effect from hope. 8

The small real-world study adds a little. Of 27 men at one Texas practice, 26 said their symptoms improved and they kept taking it. One switched to injections. 7

What this means for you: Agree with your prescriber on which symptoms you're treating and when you'll check whether they're improving. A normal lab number is the start, not the finish. For the bigger picture, see does TRT work?

Is it as good as injections?

We found no head-to-head study of Kyzatrex against testosterone injections in this review. Both can bring levels into the normal range. Injection schedules depend on the product and prescription; compare full care quotes before deciding which costs less. Kyzatrex avoids needles, but usually means morning and evening capsules with food. Neither is "stronger" in a way the studies reviewed here can prove. 1 4 37

How long does Kyzatrex take to work?

The label says to check your testosterone at least 7 days after you start, or after a dose change. The blood draw happens 3 to 5 hours after the morning dose. In the trial, doses were adjusted around days 28 and 56, and the main result was measured at day 90. 1 4

Symptoms follow their own timeline, and it isn't the same for everyone. Our guide to how long TRT takes to work covers it.

Kyzatrex side effects: what the trial and users report

The most common reported drug-related adverse reaction in the main trial was high blood pressure, reported in 2.6% of men. A longer 12-month study added headache, joint pain, diarrhea, constipation, anxiety, leg swelling, higher red blood cells, and higher PSA. Most reported adverse events in the main trial were mild to moderate. 1 4

Here are the quantified safety findings from the main trial and the small chart review. We put the trial and the real world side by side.

Kyzatrex reviews table 5: Kyzatrex side effects: what the trial and users report
Side effect Main trial (155 men, 6 months) Real-world chart review (27 men)
High blood pressure 2.6% Not reported
Started a new blood pressure medicine 3.2% Not reported
Higher hemoglobin (red blood cell protein) 4.5% —
Hematocrit (the share of your blood made up of red cells) Not measured in this trial Average rose from 44.9% to 47.4%; one man reached 53.2%, and his dose was lowered
Headache 1.9% —
PSA rose more than 1.4 ng/mL 2.6% —
PSA reached 4.0 ng/mL or higher 1.3% —
Acne that led to stopping 1 man (under 1%) —
Upset stomach — 7.4% (temporary gastrointestinal upset)

PSA is a blood test for prostate-specific antigen, a protein made by the prostate. It's checked before and during testosterone treatment. The table combines different types of safety findings; its rows are not directly comparable rates or a full list of possible harms. 1 4 7

In the separate 12-month study, the label also lists headache, joint pain, diarrhea, higher hemoglobin, anxiety, constipation, leg swelling, and higher PSA. It doesn't give percentages for these.

One gap worth knowing: The main trial did not measure hematocrit. That's a big deal, because a rising red cell count is a recognized testosterone adverse effect that can require a clinician to change treatment. The label still tells prescribers to check hematocrit before you start and about every 3 months after. 1 Don't skip those draws. More on why in TRT and high hematocrit.

Serious warnings on the label

These warnings matter even when the study does not give a reliable frequency:

  • High red blood cell count (polycythemia). It can raise the risk of blood clots.
  • Blood clots in the legs or lungs.
  • Worsening enlarged-prostate symptoms, and the need to check for prostate cancer before and during treatment.
  • Higher blood pressure.
  • Lower sperm count, which can affect fertility.
  • Swelling (edema), especially if you have heart, kidney or liver disease.
  • Worse sleep apnea if you already have risk factors.
  • Breast enlargement.
  • Changes in cholesterol. 1

Call your prescriber about breast changes, new swelling, trouble urinating, or yellow skin or eyes.

Call 911 for chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, or signs of a stroke. New pain and swelling in one leg needs urgent medical assessment. 1

Does Kyzatrex cause hair loss, acne, or shrinking testicles?

  • Acne: It caused one man to stop in the trial. See TRT and acne.
  • Hair loss: It isn't listed in the label's trial results. Testosterone may accelerate inherited male-pattern hair loss; the Kyzatrex-specific risk is not quantified. 21 See TRT and hair loss.
  • Testicle size: No participants in the small chart review reported testicular shrinkage; that does not show that fertility was preserved. 7 But testosterone from any outside source can turn down your body's own sperm production. More in TRT and testicular shrinkage.

Does Kyzatrex raise blood pressure?

Yes, a little on average. In 24-hour monitoring, systolic (top-number) blood pressure rose about 1.7 mm Hg at 4 months and 1.8 mm Hg at 6 months. Men already taking blood pressure medicine saw about twice that. 5

The FDA removed Kyzatrex's boxed warning in July 2025, but blood pressure is still a standard warning. 1

Blood pressure is an important risk of testosterone treatment. So Kyzatrex's maker ran a dedicated study with cuffs that took readings around the clock. Here's what the published study reports:

Kyzatrex reviews table 6: Does Kyzatrex raise blood pressure?
Group Systolic change at 4 months Systolic change at 6 months
Overall evaluable group +1.7 mm Hg +1.8 mm Hg
Not taking blood pressure medicine at baseline +0.7 mm Hg +1.0 mm Hg
Already on blood pressure medicine +3.4 mm Hg +3.1 mm Hg

The bottom number (diastolic) barely moved, at about +0.6 mm Hg. Heart rate rose by about 2 beats per minute at 6 months. Five of 155 men (3.2%) started a new blood pressure medicine during the study. 5

What this means for you: The average change in this study was small; individual changes varied. But averages hide individuals. A man whose blood pressure is already borderline has less room to spare. The label says Kyzatrex is not recommended if your blood pressure is uncontrolled.

What did the boxed-warning removal actually change?

Kyzatrex used to carry a "boxed warning," the FDA's most serious label alert, about blood pressure. In July 2025, the FDA removed it. The blood-pressure warning remains in the regular warnings section. 1

FDA considered a large heart-safety study called TRAVERSE alongside blood-pressure studies when it requested class-wide label changes. 22 It tested a testosterone gel, not Kyzatrex, in more than 5,000 men aged 45 to 80 with heart disease or heart risk factors. The study's main outcome combined death from heart or blood-vessel disease, nonfatal heart attack and nonfatal stroke. It occurred in 7.0% of the testosterone group and 7.3% of the placebo group. 23

TRAVERSE reported more atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm), acute kidney injury and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs) in the testosterone group; the main heart-event finding does not mean every risk was equal. It also does not establish Kyzatrex-specific cardiovascular safety. 23

Some websites, including parts of the manufacturer's own safety text, still mention a boxed warning. That text is out of date. Don't read the change as "blood pressure doesn't matter anymore." The warning format changed; the blood-pressure risk and need for monitoring remain. 1 22

If you start Kyzatrex

  • Get a baseline reading before your first dose.
  • Ask your prescriber how often to check blood pressure at home, and bring a log to follow-ups.
  • Ask your pharmacist before taking cold medicines or pain relievers that can raise blood pressure. The label calls this out.

More detail is in TRT and blood pressure and TRT and heart health.

Is Kyzatrex safe for your liver?

Kyzatrex isn't the kind of oral testosterone that damaged livers decades ago. The FDA label says it is "not known to cause hepatic adverse effects." 1 Even so, the label still tells you to report yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, or pain on the right side of your belly.

Bypassing the liver entirely is marketing language, not label language.

Old testosterone pills like methyltestosterone were chemically changed in a way that stressed the liver. Kyzatrex uses testosterone undecanoate. That form is absorbed mostly through the lymph system in your gut, so less of it goes through the liver first. That's a real, important difference. 5

Here's how the marketing compares with the label:

Kyzatrex reviews table 7: Is Kyzatrex safe for your liver?

"bypassing the liver entirely" / "bypasses your liver altogether" Kyzatrex.com / GetKYZATREX.com Not known to cause liver problems; still lists liver symptoms to report Fair to say it isn't the old liver-toxic kind. "Entirely" goes further than the label.

"No prior auth. No insurance." Kyzatrex.com The label doesn't address insurance It's sold cash-pay by design. Some insurance plans still list it.
Safety text "including boxed warning" Kyzatrex.com Boxed warning removed in July 2025 Out of date. Blood pressure still matters.
"Real Patient" testimonials Kyzatrex.com — The quotes may be real. The photos are labeled actor portrayals, and the maker picked them.

Who should NOT take Kyzatrex?

Kyzatrex is contraindicated — listed as not to be used — with breast cancer, known or suspected prostate cancer, an allergy to its ingredients, or pregnancy. The label also says it's not recommended with uncontrolled high blood pressure. It is not indicated for women, and use under 18 is not recommended because safety and effectiveness have not been established. 1

Separately, the label still says it hasn't been proven for low testosterone caused only by aging, though the FDA asked in June 2026 to remove that line. Kyzatrex's U.S. indication lists certain causes of low testosterone in adult males: primary hypogonadism (problems in the testes) and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (problems with signals from the pituitary gland or hypothalamus). This page addresses that use; gender-affirming hormone care needs its own clinical framework. 1 6

This one trips people up, so here it is plainly.

What Kyzatrex's label says today (August 2026 version): Safety and effectiveness haven't been established in men with "age-related" (late-onset) low testosterone. That means low T with no clear medical cause beyond getting older. The current label records removal of the broader contraindication for low testosterone without a structural or genetic cause in July 2025, while retaining the separate age-related limitation. 1 24

What the FDA asked for in June 2026: On June 18, 2026, the FDA asked makers of testosterone products to remove that limitation altogether. The agency said newer evidence, including TRAVERSE, means it's no longer warranted. The same request would narrow the prostate cancer restriction to men with cancer that has spread (metastatic). It would also soften the enlarged-prostate warning for men with mild to moderate symptoms. 6

Why this matters to you: When we checked on October 21, 2026, the current Kyzatrex label still carried the age-related limitation and the broader prostate-cancer contraindication. The June announcement is a requested class-wide change, not a revised Kyzatrex indication. A clinician should assess symptoms, repeat morning results, and possible causes before deciding whether treatment fits. 1 6 21

One more gap: Evidence specifically for men 65 and older is limited. The label's geriatric section says studies included no patients 65 or older, but its trial demographics elsewhere give an age range of 22–66. These inconsistent descriptions do not establish outcomes specifically for older adults. Have this conversation with a urologist or endocrinologist. 1

If you want to have kids

The label warns that Kyzatrex can lower sperm count, possibly down to zero, and that the effect on fertility may not be reversible. That's true of testosterone treatment in general, not just pills. 1 21

If you are trying to conceive or plan children soon, start with a reproductive urologist before any testosterone. Discuss future fertility goals even if they are farther away. Read does TRT affect fertility? for the options doctors use when fertility matters.

Talk to your doctor first if you have:

  • A high hematocrit or hemoglobin already
  • Trouble urinating from an enlarged prostate
  • Sleep apnea, especially if it's untreated
  • Heart, kidney or liver disease
  • Diabetes and you use insulin (the label says your blood glucose and insulin requirements may change)
  • A blood thinner like warfarin
  • Steroid medicines (corticosteroids)

Before any of this: has your low T been confirmed?

The label requires two separate morning blood tests below the normal range before starting Kyzatrex. Diagnosis also requires compatible symptoms or signs and a clinician's evaluation of the cause; two low results alone do not establish that TRT is right for you. The Endocrine Society recommends repeat early-morning, fasting testing with an accurate assay. One low number isn't enough. Neither is a symptom quiz. If you haven't had that evaluation, start with a clinician. 1 21 See how low testosterone is diagnosed.

Who is Kyzatrex best for?

Kyzatrex is best considered by men with a clinical diagnosis of low testosterone who want an FDA-approved option without needles or gel. It's a weaker fit if price, fertility, or blood pressure is your main concern. Find your situation in the table below.

We built this fit check from the FDA label and the cost data on this page. It isn't a diagnosis. It's a way to see where you stand before you pay anyone. The format-fit judgments assume a clinician has confirmed the diagnosis and reviewed treatment risks. 1 21

Switching from injections or gel

Men do switch. The manufacturer publishes a testimonial from David W., 41, about choosing an oral option.

"As soon as I heard there was an oral option, that's when I switched to KYZATREX." — David W., 41, quoted on Kyzatrex.com. Published by the manufacturer, Marius Pharmaceuticals; photos on that site are labeled actor portrayals. One person's reported experience, not typical results; any other material relationship was not established. 10

Don't plan the switch yourself. Your prescriber should set the timing, especially around your last shot. Ask when your first blood test will be (the label says at least 7 days after starting), and get a blood pressure reading before day one.

Where can you get Kyzatrex, and what does it really cost?

You need a valid prescription after a clinical evaluation. The two online programs below advertise recurring prices of $179 to $229 a month and list clinician review, labs and medicine. A local doctor can also assess whether to prescribe it. 1 12 13

We checked those offers on October 21, 2026; exact testing, supply and first-year charges still need confirmation. One trap: the same $179 can buy very different things.

Two $179 offers, plus a $229 monthly plan

This surprised us. Two places post the exact same number for Kyzatrex, and they're selling completely different things.

GetKYZATREX (online service linked from the maker's site) $99 to start, then $229 a month The $99 covers a full hormone panel and doctor review, and "goes toward treatment if qualified." The monthly plan includes the medicine and the hormone panel. It advertises home-kit or walk-in lab collection. 3-month commitment required. The maker's access page excludes Alabama and Rhode Island for this pathway. GetKYZATREX is independently operated, not run by Marius. 11 12 32
Marley Drug (pharmacy) $179 per 120 capsules Medicine only. You need your own prescriber. Ships Kyzatrex only within North Carolina. 14 15

Prices and terms are provider-stated and were checked October 21, 2026. They can change. Confirm everything in writing before you pay.

The public offers do not establish every required repeat morning test, follow-up lab, refill interval, or assigned clinician and pharmacy. GetKYZATREX's general platform terms put medical services under separate terms and describe some charges separately; get the treatment agreement for the exact $229 offer. 32

Why a "bottle price" isn't a monthly price: How long 120 capsules last depends on the prescribed capsule strength and number taken. The label lists 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg strengths, but the FDA record marks the 100 mg product as discontinued. Ask which strength the quoted price covers. 1 2 A "$179 bottle" and a "$179 month" are not the same deal. Your pharmacy can tell you the exact days' supply for your prescription.

What a first year looks like

These are 12-month recurring-payment estimates at unchanged advertised prices, not confirmed all-in first-year quotes:

  • Henry Meds: 12 × $179 = $2,148, if the price holds and nothing else is added.
  • GetKYZATREX: 12 × $229 = $2,748 in monthly payments. The provider says the $99 entry payment goes toward treatment if you qualify. Confirm how that credit is applied and what is refundable if treatment is unsuitable.
  • Your own doctor plus a pharmacy: visit and lab costs vary too much by insurance and location for one honest number.

For a price comparison, ask for a full quote for FDA-approved generic injections, including clinician visits and lab monitoring. Compare that with the Kyzatrex quote for the same period. The quote worksheet below helps you count each charge once.

Does insurance cover Kyzatrex?

Kyzatrex's maker promotes a cash-pay pathway, and its site says no prior authorization is needed. It doesn't mean insurance can never help. Some commercial drug plans list Kyzatrex but require prior authorization, meaning your doctor has to get the plan's approval first. 11 25

For example, Moda's October 2026 large-group commercial formulary lists Kyzatrex as non-preferred with prior authorization and a quantity limit. The current Express Scripts National Preferred Formulary excludes it. Those are two formulary examples, not a guarantee about your coverage. 25 26

If insurance matters to you, ask your plan and pharmacy about Kyzatrex specifically. Also ask which FDA-approved testosterone products they cover.

Can you get it online?

Yes, through telehealth programs where the clinician and dispensing pharmacy can serve your state. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance, a federal category for drugs with some potential for misuse. That means it needs a valid prescription.

As of October 21, 2026, DEA's fourth temporary extension allows qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe Schedule II–V medicines through audio-video visits without a prior in-person evaluation, subject to federal and state requirements. The extension runs through December 31, 2026. It does not guarantee a prescription or override state rules, clinical needs, or a program's in-person requirements. If you're starting late in 2026, ask the program how prescriptions will work in January. 19

If that fits what you're looking for, pick the path that matches you:

The listed age and state limits do not establish individual eligibility. Confirm current state service, clinician requirements and the dispensing pharmacy before paying.

Kyzatrex vs. Jatenzo vs. Tlando vs. injections

Kyzatrex, Jatenzo and Tlando all contain testosterone undecanoate, but they're different products, and they aren't interchangeable. Kyzatrex can be adjusted by a clinician using blood tests, while Tlando uses a fixed prescription regimen. Injections mean needles; compare complete care quotes before assuming a price difference. 1 27 28

The best format must fit your clinical needs as well as a routine you'll actually stick with.

Kyzatrex reviews table 10: Kyzatrex vs. Jatenzo vs. Tlando vs. injections
Option FDA-approved? Form How dosing works Daily routine
Kyzatrex Yes Oral capsule Clinician-adjusted using blood tests Usually morning and evening with food; prescription may differ
Jatenzo Yes Oral capsule Clinician-adjusted using blood tests Twice a day with food
Tlando Yes Oral capsule Fixed prescription regimen; response still monitored Twice a day with food
FDA-approved generic injections (cypionate, enanthate) Yes Shot Adjusted by your prescriber Schedule depends on product and prescription
FDA-approved gels Yes Skin gel Adjusted by your prescriber Daily; can transfer to others

Kyzatrex's label says it "is not substitutable with other oral testosterone undecanoate products." So you can't swap Jatenzo for Kyzatrex milligram for milligram. 1 27 28

Compounded testosterone is a separate category

Kyzatrex reviews table 11: Compounded testosterone is a separate category
Option FDA-approved? Form How dosing works Daily routine
Compounded testosterone (troches, creams, capsules) No Varies Varies Varies

Compounded testosterone is mixed by a pharmacy for an individual patient. The FDA doesn't review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they're sold. A compounded capsule is not a generic Kyzatrex. 20

What does taking Kyzatrex look like day to day?

Kyzatrex is usually prescribed morning and evening with food; follow your own prescription. The label calls for a testosterone blood test at least a week after starting or after a dose change, with blood pressure, red blood cell count and PSA checked over time. The routine, clinical response and safety monitoring all matter. 1

Kyzatrex reviews table 12: What does taking Kyzatrex look like day to day?
When What to discuss with the prescriber
Before you start Symptoms or signs plus repeat early-morning low testosterone, evaluation of cause, hematocrit, prostate/PSA assessment as appropriate, and blood pressure
At least 7 days after starting, and again at least 7 days after any clinician-directed dose change Testosterone blood test, drawn 3 to 5 hours after your morning dose
About every 3 months Hematocrit
Periodically Testosterone, blood pressure, PSA, and cholesterol

About the food

The label says to take Kyzatrex with food. The trial ran with ordinary meals. 1 4 In a food-effect study, the tested breakfasts raised testosterone exposure in the bloodstream by 37% to 94% compared with an empty stomach. 1

Ask your prescriber how to fit the prescribed food requirement to your usual meals. If you rarely eat breakfast, raise that with your prescriber before you start.

Other day-to-day questions

  • Missed a dose? Don't double up. Follow your prescriber's or pharmacist's instructions. 30
  • Storage: Keep it at room temperature in a dry place. It's a controlled substance, so keep it secure and never share it.
  • Leftover capsules: Use a drug take-back program.
  • Traveling? See how to travel with testosterone.
  • The full lab schedule is in TRT bloodwork frequency.

Is Kyzatrex worth it?

Kyzatrex can be worth it if a clinician finds it suitable, an FDA-approved pill is what will keep you on treatment, and the full care cost fits your budget. The advertised $179 to $229 a month needs to cover the services you actually require. It's a poor fit if the prescribed with-food routine won't work for you.

Here's the honest math. At the two programs' advertised recurring prices, 12 payments total $2,148 to $2,748, before any required charges outside the package and with credits counted once. Whether the capsule format is worth the cost depends on your full quote and the alternatives your clinician considers.

For some men, that's the whole point. A man who skips his prescribed shots because he dreads them isn't getting the intended benefit. A pill he actually takes can be worth more than a cheaper treatment he avoids.

Our take: If you've read this far and the fit table put you in a "strong format fit" row, Kyzatrex is a smart option to bring to a prescriber. If you landed in a "poor" or "not now" row, you'll save money and frustration by starting somewhere else.

Kyzatrex not the right fit? Where to go instead

If blood pressure, fertility, price or the prescribed with-food routine rules Kyzatrex out, you still have good options. The right one depends on why Kyzatrex didn't fit; changing testosterone format does not remove fertility or blood-pressure concerns. 21 22

Keep one thing straight: compounded testosterone is not FDA-approved, and it isn't a cheaper version of Kyzatrex. It's a different product. 20

Affiliate disclosure: Male Excel is an affiliate partner. Our Male Excel review contains paid links that may earn TRT Provider Guide a commission.

We did not confirm Kyzatrex access through Male Excel. Its checked public pages list testosterone cypionate injections and compounded Lipoderm testosterone cream; those are different products from Kyzatrex. The exact manufacturer and approval status of an injected prescription need confirmation. 29 33 The FDA doesn't review compounded drugs before they're sold. 20 If an FDA-approved pill is your priority, stay with the options above.

But maybe what you really wanted was to stop juggling appointments, labs and pharmacy runs. Male Excel's published $99 monthly membership covers provider e-visits and support; medication and shipping are charged separately. We did not establish that all required lab monitoring is included (checked October 21, 2026). 31 Ask for the full first-year total in writing before you start.

Your Kyzatrex checklist: questions to ask before you pay

A short checklist protects you from costly surprises: a price that doesn't include labs, a commitment you didn't notice, or a prescriber who won't track your blood pressure. Copy it, print it, or screenshot it. Bring it to your appointment or intake.

Questions for the clinician

  1. Do my symptoms or signs and repeat early-morning results support a diagnosis? What's the likely cause?
  2. Which symptoms are we treating, and when will we check whether they're better?
  3. How will we track my blood pressure? Do you want a home log?
  4. When will you check my hematocrit, PSA and testosterone?
  5. I'm thinking about having kids. Should we talk about other options first? (Ask only if this applies.)
  6. What happens if my hematocrit or blood pressure goes too high?
  7. How should I time my doses around meals I actually eat?

How we reviewed Kyzatrex

We read the current FDA label, the published trials, the maker's claims, and the review sources listed above. Then we dated each fact. We kept verified facts, provider claims, user signals and our own judgment separate.

We have not taken Kyzatrex.

Every fact on this page falls into one of four buckets:

  • Verified: checked against a primary source like the FDA label, DEA, or HHS, with a date.
  • Provider-stated: what a company says about its own prices and terms, which we report but can't test.
  • User report: what patients say, useful for spotting patterns but never proof that a drug works or is safe.
  • Our take: our editorial judgment, built on the facts above and labeled as ours.

The full method is in How We Review TRT Providers. We do not give Kyzatrex a numerical score, and inclusion on this page isn't an endorsement.

Last verified: October 21, 2026 — evidence and public offers checked. Prices, policies and labels can change; this date identifies the check reflected here.

Kyzatrex reviews FAQ

Kyzatrex is FDA-approved, but approval, a trial result and a review score answer different questions. The short answers below explain access, monitoring and the limits that matter before a clinical discussion.

Is Kyzatrex legit?

Yes. The FDA approved Kyzatrex on July 27, 2022. It's marketed by Marius Pharmaceuticals and sold by prescription as a Schedule III controlled substance. 1 2

Is Kyzatrex FDA-approved?

Yes. That sets it apart from compounded "oral testosterone" sold by some online clinics, which is not FDA-approved. 1 20

Does Kyzatrex work as well as testosterone injections?

We did not identify a head-to-head Kyzatrex-versus-injections study in this review. Both can raise testosterone into the normal range, but that does not establish equal symptom results. Kyzatrex avoids needles and usually means morning and evening capsules with food; compare complete care quotes for cost. 1 4 37

How long does Kyzatrex take to work?

Your prescriber checks your testosterone level at least 7 days after you start or change doses. In the trial, the main result was measured at day 90. How fast symptoms change varies from man to man. 1 4

Does Kyzatrex raise blood pressure?

Slightly, on average. Systolic pressure rose about 1.8 mm Hg after 6 months in 24-hour monitoring, and about 3 mm Hg in men already on blood pressure medicine. It's not recommended if your blood pressure is uncontrolled. 1 5

Is Kyzatrex bad for your liver?

The FDA label says it's not known to cause liver problems, unlike older testosterone pills. Report yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, or right-side belly pain to your prescriber right away. 1

Do you have to take Kyzatrex with a fatty meal?

The label says to take it with food. The tested meals increased testosterone exposure compared with fasting. The trial used ordinary meals; ask your prescriber how the food requirement fits your routine. 1

Can I take Kyzatrex if I'm over 65?

Evidence specifically for men 65 and older is limited, and the label gives inconsistent age descriptions. Talk it through with a urologist or endocrinologist. 1

Will Kyzatrex affect my fertility?

It can lower sperm count, and the label says the effect may not be reversible. If you want children soon, see a reproductive urologist before starting any testosterone. 1 21

Is there a generic Kyzatrex?

DailyMed contains an authorized-generic listing for Undecatrex under Kyzatrex's drug application. We could not confirm its current availability. Ask your pharmacist about availability, price, and whether it fits your prescription. Jatenzo and Tlando are different products, and compounded testosterone is not a generic Kyzatrex. 9 20 38

Does insurance cover Kyzatrex?

The manufacturer promotes cash-pay access; insurance coverage is plan-specific. Some commercial plans list it with prior authorization, while others exclude it. Check your plan and the coverage examples above. 11 25 26

Where can I read real Kyzatrex reviews?

Drugs.com had no Kyzatrex reviews when we checked on October 21, 2026. Our review evidence audit above lists the sources we inspected and what each can tell you. 16

Can women take Kyzatrex?

Kyzatrex is not indicated for women and is contraindicated during pregnancy. This adult male hypogonadism review does not assess gender-affirming hormone care. 1

Is Kyzatrex available outside the U.S.?

Health Canada's product monograph records authorization on November 10, 2025. That does not establish current stock. This page covers U.S. use only. 39

The bottom line on Kyzatrex reviews

Kyzatrex raised average testosterone into the study's normal range in 88% of men in the main analysis; that is not a promise of symptom relief. Blood-pressure risk needs clinical review and monitoring. With little drug-specific patient-review evidence in the checked sources, lean on the trial data and a prescriber who reviews your symptoms, labs, blood pressure and red blood cell count together. 1 4

If you have a clinical diagnosis and your prescriber finds it suitable, an FDA-approved option without needles or gel can be a solid choice. Bring the checklist above and get the full price in writing. If the fit table pointed you elsewhere, that's not a failure. It's money and time you just saved.
