Taurus Meds vs Evolve Telemedicine: Which Online TRT Service Fits You?
Compare Taurus Meds and Evolve Telemedicine on advertised starting prices, plan commitments, clinician information, laboratory testing and refund terms.
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Taurus Meds vs Evolve Telemedicine looks like $149 versus $75 a month. It isn't: Taurus makes starting-price research easier; Evolve publishes a clinician roster and coordinator model. Neither has a verified complete first-year total. Taurus's commitment and refund terms need written clarification, and Evolve's annual care plan becomes non-refundable after your first physician visit.

For men comparing cash-pay care, Taurus is the easier place to research advertised starting costs. Evolve is the better place to inspect a published clinician roster and coordinator model. Those are reasons to investigate, not proof of better care or a lower bill. Fertility plans, insurance needs, an exact medication requirement or an unconfirmed diagnosis may change your starting point.
One more thing before you pay Taurus. There's a fee in its contract and a promise on its sales page that don't match its other documents. We'll show you both, with the exact wording, so you can get them settled in writing. Also ask what term the advertised price requires: a Taurus-issued release describes a commitment that the sales page doesn't spell out.
| Investigate Taurus Meds if… | Investigate Evolve Telemedicine if… |
|---|---|
| You want advertised starting-price components before a call | You want to read clinicians' names and backgrounds before a call |
| You're willing to confirm the price, commitment and exit terms together | You're willing to get an annual-care quote and payment schedule |
| You'll get its conflicting refund terms settled before paying | You want a dedicated coordinator for administrative help |
| You live far from a lab (Taurus says it mails a free home kit at more than 50 miles) | Your partner already uses Evolve, or you want to investigate one platform for both of you |
These are fit judgments from the Taurus offer, Evolve roster and Evolve care description, not a clinical ranking.
Not for you yet if: you're trying to conceive soon, need insurance billing or a specific FDA-approved product, or have not had low testosterone properly evaluated. Start with the right care route, not a subscription choice. Here's where to start instead.
TRT Provider Guide is the independent decision resource for testosterone replacement therapy — helping U.S. adults understand how low testosterone is evaluated, compare online and local care models and providers, and choose the next step that fits their health needs, fertility plans, budget, state, and care preferences, with every material claim verified and dated.
This page is educational information, not medical advice. A clinician decides whether treatment is right for you. Chest pain, trouble breathing, or sudden weakness on one side of your body: call 911.
This comparison addresses adult men being evaluated for testosterone deficiency. It is not a guide to adolescent care, gender-affirming hormone care or nonmedical testosterone use.
What we actually verified (September 28, 2026)
What we read: Taurus Meds' homepage, $49 TRT offer, Terms of Service (updated June 24, 2025), refund policy (updated February 28, 2026), privacy policy and its May 28, 2026 press release. Evolve Telemedicine's homepage, TRT pages, FAQ, About page, Commitment to Patients page and Terms & Conditions. Evolve's partner price list on Labcorp OnDemand. Both companies' Trustpilot profiles. OpenLoop's consent and privacy notice, federal rules, FDA material, the Endocrine Society guideline and the AUA/ASRM male-infertility guideline.
Document-confirmed: the published prices, clauses and offer conflicts quoted or summarized below, and the arithmetic in our tables. Reading a policy confirms what it says, not how the company applies it to your purchase.
Provider-stated, not independently tested: clinician names and credentials, laboratory access, shipping times, state availability, care inclusions and Taurus's 90-day guarantee.
What we couldn't confirm: either provider's complete first-year cost; Evolve's actual annual-care, required lab and medication quote; the current commitment attached to Taurus's $149 offer; whether its $17.99 fee applies; or the amount Taurus would refund if care is declined. We did not confirm an assigned clinician's state license, an assigned dispensing pharmacy, exact prescription, complete monitoring schedule or plan-specific checkout terms.
What we didn't do: sign up, pay, see a clinician, or test a cancellation. This is a comparison built from public documents, not a hands-on review.

Taurus Meds vs Evolve Telemedicine: what differs at a glance?
Taurus Meds publishes starting-price components, but its plan term and refund scope need clarification. Evolve Telemedicine describes an annual care plan plus medication orders without publishing a complete TRT quote. Evolve provides more public clinician-roster detail; Taurus lists four pharmacy partners, but neither tells us who would treat you or fill your exact prescription.
| Taurus Meds | Evolve Telemedicine | |
|---|---|---|

If seeing advertised starting costs before a call matters to you, Taurus is the one to investigate first. See Taurus's current $49 offer and the terms behind it → Before you pay, ask Taurus in writing about the commitment, whether the $17.99 fee applies and which refund clauses govern your purchase. A clinician decides whether you're prescribed anything.
The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.
The tool is educational and non-diagnostic. It does not decide eligibility or guarantee a prescription. Read our privacy policy before sharing information.
Which is cheaper, Taurus Meds or Evolve Telemedicine?
Neither provider can be proven cheaper from the public documents. Taurus's $49 start plus twelve $149 payments comes to $1,837 in advertised components, not a verified all-in annual bill. Evolve needs an itemized quote, and Taurus still needs confirmation of the plan term, any added fees and required care costs.
Taurus's advertised components, worked out in the open
Here's the math, using only numbers Taurus publishes. Its homepage also advertises a free testosterone test; that does not establish that the $49 test-and-consult offer is free. Confirm which promotion and terms your purchase uses. Offer page · Homepage.
| Illustrative 12-month calculation | Amount |
|---|---|
| Blood test and consultation | $49 |
| 12 months at $149 | $1,788 |
| Advertised-component subtotal, if $149 holds for 12 months | $1,837 |
| Plus the $17.99 contract fee, only if it applies and is charged monthly | + $215.88 |
| Conditional subtotal with that monthly fee | $2,052.88 |
That extra fee scenario only exists because of one sentence in Taurus's Terms of Service. Section 28 says you agree to "a recurring membership fee of $17.99 USD per billing period." It then adds "unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase." The $49 sales page says the opposite: "No membership fees. No hidden fees." Compare the terms with the offer.
Both can't be the whole story. Maybe the sales page counts as "otherwise stated," and the fee never shows up. Maybe it does. We couldn't settle it from the public documents, so the honest answer is: ask Taurus support to confirm in writing, before you enter a card, whether §28 applies to the $149 TRT plan.
Neither figure is a guaranteed bill or a price ceiling. Both assume one entry charge and twelve payments at the advertised rate. Required tests, clinical visits, medication changes, shipping, tax or price changes could add costs unless your written quote includes them.
The commitment matters as much as the monthly number. A May 28, 2026 release issued by Taurus Medical, Inc. lists $149 per month with a six-month commitment and $199 month-to-month. It says cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term. That dated release is not today's checkout quote, but it means we cannot call the advertised $149 offer commitment-free. Ask which current plan you are buying. Taurus-issued release.
At the release's $199 rate, the same illustrative calculation would be $49 + (12 × $199) = $2,437, before any other required charges. This is a dated-price scenario, not a confirmed current offer.
Why Evolve's number can't be calculated
Evolve prints three different prices on three of its own pages:
| Where it appears | What it says |
|---|---|
| Evolve FAQ | A hormone plan "starts at around $75 per month" |
| Evolve's TRT for Men page | TRT runs "$50 to $100 per month" |
| Evolve's testosterone treatment page | TRT runs "$50 to $1000 per month" |
None of these is an Evolve TRT quote. They don't say what's included, and none mentions the annual care plan. Evolve's terms (§33(j)) say that plan covers your first physician consultation, follow-up visits your physician asks for, and unlimited access to your patient care coordinator. We couldn't find the plan's price in the pages we checked. Annual-care terms, §33(j).
You may see Evolve prices on other review sites. We couldn't confirm those numbers in the official pages we checked, so we don't use them. Multiplying $75 by twelve doesn't give you an Evolve TRT budget either. It does not establish the full care, lab and medication total.
Evolve's case against cheap monthly pricing
Evolve makes its case on its About page. It argues that low monthly prices often mean less doctor time and more chatbots, and says its pricing "reflects physician-guided care." The page is titled "Healthcare is Not a Subscription." That is Evolve's argument, not a measured comparison of the care either provider delivers. Evolve About page.
Some men will value the care model Evolve describes. Just know that its terms still describe an annual plan, plus medication orders. They do not establish the plan's price, whether the full year is due up front or whether it renews automatically. So compare both providers' complete written quotes, not Evolve's $75 headline against Taurus's $1,837 subtotal. Evolve terms, §33.
Make the two quotes comparable
When you have both prices in writing, line them up in the same rows. A blank line isn't $0 — it's a question you haven't had answered yet.
| Cost line | Taurus Meds | Evolve Telemedicine |
|---|---|---|
| First labs | Advertised $49 with consult; confirm the included panel | Ask |
| Repeat or follow-up labs | Ask what's included | Ask |
| Care or membership fee | Offer says no membership fee; ask whether §28 applies | Annual plan: ask the price, due date and renewal terms |
| Medication, per month or per order | $149 advertised; confirm commitment, quantity and renewal rate | Ask (price and days' supply per order) |
| Shipping and tax | Ask | Ask |
| Required clinical follow-ups | Ask what's included and what costs extra | Physician-requested follow-ups listed; ask about other clinical visits |

What can you get back if you change your mind — or the clinician says no?
Taurus Meds' refund policy promises a full refund after medical disqualification, then narrows refunds in other clauses; blood work and shipped medication are non-refundable under its terms. Evolve Telemedicine's terms make the annual care plan non-refundable after the first physician visit and medication non-refundable. Neither provider's documents establish that Taurus puts less of your money at risk.
This is the part that can change your decision. So we mapped the published payment and refund milestones, using both companies' own terms and refund policies.
The money-at-risk timeline
| Step | Taurus Meds | Evolve Telemedicine |
|---|---|---|
| 1. You sign up | Its refund policy says your subscription starts when you finish the intake form, and you're charged for the first month then. | The intake call and consultation form are free. |
| 2. Blood work | $49 advertised for test and consult. Terms §8: no refunds on blood work. | Required total not quoted. Terms direct NY, NJ, CT and RI residents to buy labs; confirm the current process first. |
| 3. Clinician says no | One clause promises a full refund; others limit the scope and say a refund may be issued. Amount unresolved. | No clear exception found for a clinician declining TRT after the paid consultation. |
| 4. First medication order | $149 advertised monthly rate; confirm the order total and term. Shipped medication is final sale. | Price quoted to you. All medication is "non-refundable and non-returnable." |
| 5. You want to stop | Notice must arrive at least 72 hours before billing to avoid another cycle; ask how the selected commitment affects cancellation. | Annual plan is non-refundable after the first physician visit. No clear annual-plan cancellation process found in checked pages. |
| 6. "It isn't working" | The sales page advertises a 90-day money-back guarantee. The refund policy says otherwise (see below). | No results guarantee. |
Sources: Taurus refund policy, Taurus terms, §§7–8 and 28, Taurus offer, Evolve FAQ and Evolve terms, §33. These are published terms, not tested refund outcomes.
What this means in plain terms: Do not budget on losing only $49 if Taurus declines treatment. Ask which charges would be returned, which would be kept and when. With Evolve, you won't know your exposure until they quote you, and the published annual-care refund window closes after the first physician consultation.
Two Taurus documents that disagree
The guarantee. Taurus's $49 page promises a full refund if you "do not see serious results within 90 days" — "minus lab and pharmacy fees." Its refund policy says "there is no guarantee of results." It also says, in capital letters, that except for medical disqualification, "IN NO EVENT SHALL YOU BE ISSUED A REFUND UPON CANCELLATION."
The first charge. The $49 page says that once your labs are done, "you will be directed to pay for your tesosterone medication." The refund policy says you're charged for the first month when you finish the intake form.
We can't tell you which document Taurus follows. If either point matters to you, screenshot the sales page. Then ask support to confirm the guarantee and the charge timing in writing before you pay.
Even the medical-disqualification exception is unclear. Taurus's refund policy later refers to remaining subscription charges, limits approved refunds to the most recent cycle and says a refund "may be issued" when eligibility changes. It also makes patients responsible for care already provided. Those clauses do not support a blanket promise that all your payments come back. Read the full refund policy.
Stopping charges and getting refunds are two different things
When you cancel either service, ask two questions. "What will you stop charging me?" And, separately, "What will you refund?" Get both answers in writing, plus confirmation that billing has ended.
For Taurus, the policy says to request cancellation through customer service or the account process where offered. Get the effective date in writing; we did not test either channel. Ask Evolve's coordinator for its annual-care cancellation process and how to prevent future medication orders. Taurus cancellation policy · Evolve care terms.
Reviewers on both sides show why. Taurus reviewer David Arvin reports two charges before seeing a provider; his listed experience date is September 14, 2026. Evolve reviewer Carly Wiltse reported an out-of-stock order and store credit rather than a full refund on February 3, 2026; Evolve replied on February 9 that it was trying to reach her to resolve it. These are single people's reports, not company policy. But they're exactly the moments the timeline above warns about. Taurus reviews · Evolve reviews.

Who actually treats you at Taurus Meds vs Evolve?
Evolve Telemedicine names five clinicians on its website — three gynecology/OB-GYN physicians, one emergency physician and one nurse practitioner — and describes a patient care coordinator. Taurus Meds publishes no clinician roster on the pages we checked and names OpenLoop in its service documents. Neither checked roster identifies a urologist or endocrinologist; that does not establish who may be available for your visit.
Both companies say they don't practice medicine themselves. Taurus names OpenLoop Health, Inc. as its "Partner MSO" — a management services organization, not the treating medical practice. OpenLoop's consent separately names affiliated professional practices that provide care. Evolve's terms say its providers are independent professionals, "not employees" of the company. Taurus terms · OpenLoop consent · Evolve terms.
| Taurus Meds | Evolve Telemedicine | |
|---|---|---|
| Company identified in its terms | Taurus Medical, Inc. (states it is registered in Delaware) | E-Volve Company, Inc., doing business as Evolve Telemed and Evolve Telemedicine (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) |
| Who provides care | Professional practices identified in OpenLoop's consent; ask which entity treats you | Independent clinicians working through the platform |
| Publicly listed clinicians — credentials are provider-stated | No names found on checked pages. The sales page describes a national network. | Dr. Leita Harris, MD (gynecologist) · Dr. Mary Martin, MD, FACOG (OB-GYN) · Dr. Gregory Servetas, MD (OB-GYN) · Dr. Kenneth MacLeod Rice, MD (emergency medicine) · Dr. Keith Starwalt, DNP (acute care nurse practitioner, not an MD) |
| Day-to-day contact | Support team; ongoing clinician contact and visit allowance not confirmed | A dedicated patient care coordinator; clinical visits are separate |
| Pharmacies named | RedRock Pharmacy (Utah), Health Warehouse (Kentucky), Precision Compounding Pharmacy (New York), Triad Rx (Alabama) | None named. Terms say "FDA-inspected compounding pharmacies" |

Sources: Taurus terms and partner list, OpenLoop consent, Evolve roster and Evolve terms. Names and descriptions were checked; individual licenses, certifications and your assigned clinician were not independently verified.
Evolve's public roster leans toward women's health. That makes sense — it treats women and men. It doesn't make those clinicians unqualified to prescribe TRT. It does mean a man with a harder case, like a pituitary problem or fertility concerns, should ask for relevant specialist care rather than infer that expertise from a roster. Endocrine Society guidance · AUA/ASRM fertility guidance.
One real knock on Taurus
Taurus doesn't publish a TRT clinician roster on the pages we checked. No names. No specialties. Just a national network. If reading clinicians' names and backgrounds before a call is your priority, Evolve offers more public detail — see when Evolve makes sense. A roster still does not tell you which clinician will see you.
That doesn't settle the value question. Taurus posts starting-price components; Evolve describes an annual plan with named clinicians and a coordinator. Neither public record proves that a network creates lower prices or that a smaller roster creates better care. Compare the written care access, commitment and refund terms rather than assuming one explains the other.
A coordinator isn't a clinician
Evolve's coordinator model may be a strength for someone who wants help with the details. But its terms describe "unlimited access" to your coordinator, not unlimited doctor visits. Follow-ups are the ones "your physician requests." Evolve's Commitment page adds that the plan includes "an initial consultation, an annual visit" and follow-ups the provider requests. Reviewer Rachel Peddle said in December 2025 that the doctor felt rushed "when you only get two calls a year." That older individual report is not the current plan's visit limit. Care terms · Commitment to Patients · Review.
Also, Evolve's free intake call is with its intake team. The physician consultation is part of the paid annual plan. So when you book, ask: "Is my first appointment with a coordinator or a clinician, and when does payment start?" Evolve FAQ · Annual-care terms.
If a clinician from a national network works for you, review Taurus's consultation process → Before paying, ask for the treating practice, assigned clinician's name, state license and how to request a clinical follow-up.
Is Taurus Meds or Evolve Telemedicine testosterone FDA-approved?
Evolve Telemedicine's terms say every medication it sends is compounded. Taurus Meds' homepage advertises "FDA-approved medications," but its TRT page includes compounding copy naming "The Excel Advantage HRT program," leaving the actual Taurus prescription unresolved. Compounded testosterone is not FDA-approved; ask for the exact product in writing before choosing on approval status. Taurus homepage · TRT offer · Evolve terms · FDA.
Compounded vs FDA-approved, in plain words
An FDA-approved drug went through the FDA's review for safety, effectiveness and quality before it was sold. A compounded drug is mixed by a pharmacy for a patient's prescription. The FDA says compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and don't get that review before they're sold. FDA compounding questions and answers.
That doesn't make a compounded product bad. It does make it a different thing. So don't assume a compounded cream or injection is interchangeable with a brand-name product, and don't compare their prices as if they were. Compounding quality problems can also cause harm, which is why the pharmacy and exact preparation matter. FDA.
Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. That's a federal category for drugs with medical use and some risk of misuse. It means you need a valid prescription from a licensed clinician. No quiz or payment replaces that. DEA drug schedules · Federal prescribing rule.
Claims we don't repeat as facts
Both companies use marketing claims that do not establish results for the exact treatment you would receive:
- Evolve's homepage calls its therapies "safe, clinically proven." Its Commitment page says bioidentical hormone therapy "enhances effectiveness and minimizes side effects." Its terms disclaim guarantees about outcomes. These statements do not establish the safety or benefit of your exact compounded prescription. Homepage · Commitment · Terms.
- Taurus's $49 page describes a gel, a pill and a peptide with the same line: "Weekly intramuscular injections clinically proven to 5x testoerone levels." Taurus offer.
- Taurus's "85% of Taurus members report improved quality of life" is footnoted as "derived from 30 combined studies." That footnote does not substantiate an 85% result measured in Taurus's own members. Taurus offer.
We don't treat any of these as evidence. Neither should you.
Who makes it
Taurus names four pharmacies in its terms. That tells you who Taurus says it works with, not which one will fill your order. Evolve names none in the pages we checked. Either way, ask for the pharmacy's name and state. Then look up its license with that state's board of pharmacy. A list or an inspection claim is not proof that the exact drug is FDA-approved. Taurus partner list · Evolve pharmacy terms · FDA.
Two things on Taurus's list aren't testosterone
Taurus also lists enclomiphene and oral sermorelin. Enclomiphene is a pill that tries to get your own body to make more testosterone. It isn't FDA-approved, and it isn't testosterone replacement. Sermorelin is a peptide, not testosterone. If a clinician suggests either, you're in a different treatment conversation. Our enclomiphene vs TRT guide explains the difference. FDA's enclomiphene review · Taurus treatment list.
Follow the date on your label
Compounded medicines carry a "use by" date. Evolve's terms mention a pharmacy recommendation to throw some medication out after 28 days. Then they add that compounded medications "may last well beyond the guidelines provided on the label." The same terms say the pharmacy will hold part of an order for a later refill when the quantity exceeds its use date. Evolve terms, §33(e).
Don't go by a website on this. Follow the date and storage directions on your pharmacy label, and ask the pharmacist if something doesn't add up. The FDA warns against using expired medicines. Ask which beyond-use date, after-opening limit and storage rule apply to your exact medicine; 28 days is not a universal rule for every compounded product. FDA on expired medicines.

What blood tests do Taurus Meds and Evolve require?
Taurus Meds advertises a blood test and consult for $49 at Labcorp or Quest, plus a free home kit if you live more than 50 miles from a lab. Evolve Telemedicine uses Labcorp for its standard process and publishes special instructions for four states, but its required lab total is not confirmed. Neither checked offer establishes that all diagnostic repeat tests and ongoing monitoring are included. Taurus offer · Evolve terms.
What a real diagnosis looks like
The American Urological Association (AUA) says low testosterone should be diagnosed only when you have symptoms or signs and your total testosterone is low on two separate early-morning tests. It suggests below 300 ng/dL as a reasonable cut-off, ideally measured by the same lab using the same method. That number alone is not a diagnosis. The Endocrine Society also calls for consistently low results and repeat morning fasting testing, with evaluation of the cause. AUA guideline · FDA's summary of the diagnostic standard · Endocrine Society guideline.
Total testosterone is all the testosterone in your blood. One test isn't enough, because levels swing through the day and from day to day. Endocrine Society guideline.
So ask either company one simple question: "How will you confirm the diagnosis, and is a second morning test included if needed?" Ask how existing results or a transfer from another clinician will be handled, too. We can't interpret your own results. A clinician who has your full history can.
Clinicians should check hematocrit (the share of your blood made of red blood cells) before treatment, because testosterone can raise it. PSA (prostate-specific antigen) is a prostate blood test; the need for baseline prostate assessment and monitoring depends on age, risk, the guideline used and a discussion with your clinician. Ask whether those tests are in your price. Endocrine Society guideline.
How the lab logistics differ
Taurus: Labcorp or Quest. If you're more than 50 miles from one, Taurus says it sends an at-home collection kit at no extra charge. Taurus offer.
Evolve: Labcorp is the standard process, not the only possible source of results. Its terms say to print your lab order from its portal and not to pay Labcorp at the counter; where Labcorp is unavailable, they suggest asking your primary care clinician about the recommended tests. Evolve's FAQ says outside lab results "in most cases" work if they include the markers its clinicians need. Ask for a secure way to submit them before buying new labs. Terms, §33(b) · FAQ.
If you live in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Rhode Island
Evolve's terms say residents of these four states must order and pay for labs themselves through Labcorp OnDemand. Its Commitment to Patients page instead says its lab services are unavailable in those states and directs readers to contact Evolve. Confirm the current process before buying tests. Here's what Evolve's partner page listed on September 28, 2026:
| Test | Listed price |
|---|---|
| Comprehensive Testosterone (total and free testosterone, SHBG, albumin) | $159 |
| Total Testosterone | $69 |
| Complete Blood Count (includes hematocrit) | $29 |
| PSA | $69 |
The page offers code EVOLVE for 15% off select tests. If a clinician ordered all four, the list prices add up to $326 before any eligible discount. That's an example, not Evolve's required panel: the comprehensive test already includes total testosterone, so the separate $69 test would duplicate that measurement at the same draw. It could serve a separate repeat draw only if ordered that way. SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin) is a protein that carries testosterone in your blood. The Endocrine Society describes follow-up testosterone and hematocrit checks around 3–6 months, at 12 months and then annually, with timing adapted to the treatment format and clinical situation. The prescribing clinician sets your plan. Ask about blood-pressure checks too: FDA required blood-pressure warnings for testosterone products after postmarketing studies found increases. Do Taurus Meds and Evolve serve my state?
Evolve Telemedicine's terms list all 50 states plus DC, Puerto Rico and Guam, effective January 26, 2026. Taurus Meds didn't publish a state list on the pages we checked. For either one, what counts is where you're physically located during the visit — so confirm TRT is available there before you pay. Evolve service-area terms, §6 · HHS licensing guidance.
Evolve's terms put it plainly: services are for patients "physically located, at the time of service" in a listed state. The terms also say availability "may change" with licensing and provider availability, and elsewhere say not all states and territories are served. A state on a list is not an independent license check or a guarantee that TRT is available to you. Ask for the assigned clinician and whether that clinician can treat and prescribe in your location. Evolve terms, §6 · HHS.
If you travel or split time between states, ask where your visit has to take place and whether the pharmacy can ship your prescribed product there. See HHS guidance on care across state lines for the licensing framework.
How fast can you start, and how do refills work?
Taurus Meds says the whole process, from testing to medication at your door, takes one to two weeks on average. Evolve Telemedicine says to allow about ten business days after payment for tracking, lets you order up to 140 days of most medications at once, and asks you to reorder at least two weeks early. The two companies measure from different starting points, so neither is proven faster. Taurus offer · Evolve shipping and reorder terms, §33.
| Taurus Meds | Evolve Telemedicine | |
|---|---|---|
| What they say about timing | "1-2 weeks on average" from testing to delivery | Allow 10 business days after full payment for tracking; shipping time starts after that |
| Largest order | Exact days' supply and maximum order not confirmed | Up to 140 days of most medications, per terms; not a guaranteed testosterone supply |
| Refill rule | Recurring billing; clinical refill requirements need confirmation | Contact your coordinator at least two weeks before you run out |
| Damaged or missing items | Contact support right away | Report within 48 hours, with photos |
Source: the same provider documents above. Confirm current laboratory and visit requirements before a refill; advertised timing is not a delivery guarantee.
Reviews on both sides mention delays. Taurus reviewer One_day_At_a_Time lists a September 27, 2026 experience waiting on a blood test for over a week. Evolve reviewer Ann Ostrowski said in May 2026 that refills had to be requested 20 to 25 days ahead. Those are individual reports, not promised timelines. Don't wait until your last dose to contact your clinician about a refill, and never change your dose on your own to stretch a supply. Taurus review · Evolve review.
Already receiving TRT elsewhere? Taurus says transfers still require its assessment. Before switching, have the new clinician review your records and confirm the next visit, lab and refill steps; acceptance is not automatic continuity of prescribing. Taurus transfer FAQ.
Is Taurus Meds legit? Is Evolve Telemedicine legit?
Both providers had live public service pages, published terms and U.S. contact information when checked, but that is not a clinical-quality or licensing verdict. Taurus Meds has far more Trustpilot reviews than Evolve Telemedicine (918 vs 54), while their profiles show replies to 1% and 40% of negative reviews, respectively. Both companies' documents contain unfinished drafting, so read the contract, not just the ad. Taurus · Evolve · Taurus reviews · Evolve reviews.

Trustpilot notes that neither company has recently invited customers to leave reviews, so the reviews may not represent everyone. Many of Evolve's five-star reviews were posted in the same week in December 2025. A cluster of review dates does not prove that reviews are false. Taurus profile · Evolve profile.
Two short reports that capture each side's appeal:
"they call you more than once to see if you have any questions." — Cory Boyles, Taurus Meds on Trustpilot, August 15, 2026; the review does not identify the treatment.
"Upfront known reasonable costs, no suprises." — David Bures, Evolve Telemedicine on Trustpilot, December 13, 2025 (a TRT patient; original spelling)
These are single people's experiences, not typical results. They say nothing about whether treatment is safe or works.
Loose ends in both contracts
Both companies have unfinished writing in their legal documents. It doesn't prove bad care. It does mean you should read what you sign.
- Taurus: its refund policy contains stray "[ï]" placeholders and refers to "your medical weight loss journey." Its sales page says it has "helped over 100,000 men" and, lower down, "over 40,000 Patients." Refund policy · Offer page.
- Evolve: its terms say disputes go to binding arbitration in "[Insert Location]" — the blank was never filled. Its TRT for Men page still shows a "Lorem ipsum" placeholder block. Terms · TRT page.
Privacy
Evolve's terms describe a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and list rights to access and amend health records. HIPAA is the federal health-privacy law that applies to covered health plans, certain healthcare providers and other covered entities, with duties for their business associates. It does not cover every health-related website. Evolve terms, §14 · HHS covered-entity guidance.
Taurus's terms say its services "are not tailored to comply with" HIPAA, while its privacy policy also describes HIPAA-related rights. We cannot resolve that tension by assuming the terms apply only to the website. OpenLoop separately publishes a Notice of Privacy Practices for its professional practices. Still, ask Taurus who holds your medical records and which privacy notice applies. Taurus terms · Taurus privacy policy · OpenLoop notice.
Before switching providers, ask how to get your records. Request a secure copy or transfer of your lab results, consultation notes, prescription history and monitoring plan. Evolve's terms describe record-access rights; OpenLoop's notice describes access requests, generally within 30 days and with a possible reasonable fee. Neither statement proves the process for your specific account. Confirm the treating practice and its records contact rather than sending medical records to a marketing form. Evolve privacy terms · OpenLoop record-access notice.
If there's a dispute
Taurus's contract calls for binding arbitration in San Diego, a class-action waiver and a one-year claim limit, with stated exceptions. Evolve's contract calls for binding arbitration but leaves the location blank. Both contracts seek to limit liability to what you paid during the previous six months. These are summaries of the companies' terms, not a finding that every clause is enforceable or that it overrides your legal rights. Taurus terms, §§17–18 · Evolve dispute and liability terms.

When should you choose Evolve Telemedicine?
Evolve Telemedicine is the better option to investigate if a public clinician roster, a dedicated coordinator and a platform that also treats your partner matter more than getting a posted TRT quote. Choose only after Evolve puts the annual-care amount, payment schedule and refund terms in writing. It's not the pick for someone who needs an itemized public price before making contact.
Evolve fits you if:
- You want public clinician details. Evolve names its clinicians and their training. Taurus doesn't publish a roster on the checked pages. Ask who would actually see you. Evolve roster.
- You want one person running the details. Evolve describes a dedicated patient care coordinator. Its higher public review-response share does not prove faster clinical support. Care model.
- Your household is already there. Evolve treats women's hormone issues too, including menopause and thyroid care. Evolve services.
- Privacy paperwork matters to you. Evolve's terms lay out HIPAA rights in detail. That is paperwork you can inspect, not an independent privacy or security audit. Evolve terms.
Send Evolve these three questions before your first physician visit:
- What does the annual care plan cost, when is it charged, and does it renew automatically?
- If the doctor decides TRT isn't right for me — or I cancel before that visit — what do I get back?
- What's my medication price per order, how many days does it cover, and which pharmacy fills it?
Sound like you? Request Evolve's free intake call — and ask for the annual plan price in writing → This link goes straight to Evolve’s contact page, not to an affiliate tracking destination. The free intake call is not the paid physician consultation.
When should you choose Taurus Meds?
Taurus Meds is the better option to investigate if you want advertised starting-price components before a call: $49 to start and a $149 monthly medication rate. It is not yet a clear-price, easy-exit winner because the plan commitment, $17.99 fee and refund scope need written answers. Settle those points before paying.
Taurus fits you if:
- You want a starting point for the quote. The $1,837 and conditional $2,052.88 calculations show advertised components, not a complete budget or price range. Offer · Terms.
- You want to understand the exit before joining. Confirm the current minimum term, payment schedule and what the 72-hour cancellation rule does—and does not—cancel. Refund policy.
- You want to limit money at risk. Ask for the actual charges and refund amount if treatment is declined. The published policy does not establish a $49 maximum loss. Refund policy.
- You're far from a lab. Taurus says it provides a free home collection kit at more than 50 miles. Confirm availability for your location. Offer.
Send Taurus these three questions before you pay:
- Does the $17.99 membership fee in Terms §28 apply to the $149 TRT plan, and what commitment, billing cycle and renewal price come with that offer?
- Is the 90-day guarantee on your sales page honored, given your refund policy says there are no refunds on cancellation—and exactly what would be refunded if the clinician declines treatment?
- Which pharmacy will fill my prescription, and is my medication compounded or FDA-approved?
Does this sound like your situation? Review Taurus's $49 blood test and clinician-consult offer → Treatment depends on the clinician's decision. Confirm the selected plan's commitment and get cancellation notice to Taurus at least 72 hours before the applicable billing date.
Who should skip both Taurus Meds and Evolve?
Do not choose between these paid programs yet if near-term fertility, insurance billing, a specific FDA-approved product or an unconfirmed diagnosis is the main issue. Those situations call for the right evaluation or care route first, not a different subscription. That does not mean every initial evaluation must be in person.
When you want children soon
Testosterone from outside your body can lower sperm production. That's called suppressing spermatogenesis, your body's sperm-making process. The AUA/ASRM male-infertility guideline says testosterone alone should not be prescribed to a man interested in current or future fertility. If kids are in your plans at all, discuss that before choosing treatment. AUA/ASRM guideline, statement 40.
Nobody can promise that your fertility will be protected or come back on a set schedule. See a urologist or reproductive urologist before starting any testosterone program, including these two. Start here: TRT and fertility · TRT providers for fertility. Endocrine Society guidance.
When you want insurance or a specific FDA-approved product
Evolve says it does not accept insurance; Taurus advertises cash-pay pricing without a confirmed insurance-billing path. Evolve describes compounded medication, while Taurus's exact product is unresolved. For insurance or a specific FDA-approved product, start with your primary care doctor, a urologist or an endocrinologist, and a pharmacy your plan covers. See TRT providers that take insurance. Evolve FAQ · Taurus offer.
If your low testosterone hasn't been confirmed
Tiredness, low sex drive and weight gain have many causes. Get a real evaluation, including appropriate repeat early-morning testing, before deciding on treatment. A qualified clinician may begin that evaluation online when appropriate; existing tests also need clinical review. Our online vs local TRT guide helps you decide where to start. Endocrine Society guideline.
If you have a complicated health history
Get specialist input before choosing a general online program if you have a history of prostate or breast cancer, high hematocrit, untreated severe sleep apnea, a recent heart attack or stroke, or known pituitary or testicle problems. The Endocrine Society recommends against starting testosterone in several of these circumstances, including a heart attack or stroke within the previous six months. The right setting and any need for an in-person exam depend on the clinical evaluation; a past cancer diagnosis is not a one-size-fits-all decision. Endocrine Society guideline.
When you want posted pricing but neither of these fits
- Male Excel publishes its program fees. That's a $99 consultation, a $99 monthly membership and an injectable-plus-thyroid medication package advertised from $120 a month. At those starting rates, $99 + 12 × ($99 + $120) = $2,727, before shipping and any other required charges not included in the quote. Medication is billed in 60-day supplies, so a monthly equivalent is not the payment schedule. It advertises "No Contract, Cancel Anytime." A package listing is not a reason to use thyroid medication; each medicine needs its own clinical indication. Details in our Male Excel cost guide. Official pricing.
- Hone Health publishes a $135-a-month membership, or $1,620 over twelve months, with medication extra. It also shows exactly where that money goes, and says it refunds your first $135 if the physician decides treatment isn't right for you. That is a membership figure, not a complete first-year total; confirm the initial testing charge and medication costs too. See our Hone TRT cost guide for the full quote checklist. Official membership breakdown.
Male Excel and Hone prices checked September 28, 2026. These are cash-pay alternatives to investigate only when the care model fits. They do not solve a fertility, insurance or exact-product mismatch by default.

Will online TRT from Taurus or Evolve still work in 2027?
The current federal extension can allow testosterone prescribing without a prior in-person evaluation through December 31, 2026, when all its conditions are met. It does not guarantee uninterrupted online-only care in 2027, and state law or the clinician may still require an in-person visit now. Neither provider's checked public documents settle its plan for a change in requirements. Federal Register rule · HHS prescribing guidance.
Here's where things stand as of September 28, 2026:
- The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Department of Health and Human Services extended the temporary rules through December 31, 2026. For testosterone under this flexibility, the prescribing encounter must use live two-way audio and video, with a properly authorized prescriber and a legitimate medical purpose. Federal rule.
- The extension does not remove state licensing requirements or turn a questionnaire into prescribing permission. Its audio-only exception concerns certain opioid-use-disorder treatment, not testosterone. This comparison does not assume a particular replacement rule or a 2027 outcome. Federal rule · HHS state-licensing guidance.
Why it matters for Evolve: an annual care term starting now could extend into 2027. Ask Evolve: "If an in-person exam becomes required, what happens to my plan and my refills?" Also ask whether any unused care fees would be refundable. Evolve annual-care terms.
Why it matters for Taurus: the selected commitment could also extend into 2027. Ask the same question rather than assuming a monthly advertised rate limits your obligation.
One more question for both: ask whether the prescribing encounter will be a live video visit and how the clinician will meet both federal and state requirements. Administrative phone calls or messages are not a substitute for the video encounter required under this temporary flexibility. Federal rule.

How did we compare Taurus Meds and Evolve Telemedicine?
We read both companies' public sales pages, terms, available refund information and FAQs on September 28, 2026, and lined up their published prices and payment rules side by side. We also checked lab prices, customer reviews, federal rules and medical guidance. We didn't sign up, pay or see a clinician, so this is a comparison, not a hands-on review.
We followed How We Review TRT Providers, our published method. It keeps four kinds of information apart:
- Verified facts: document contents and calculations we could reproduce, with dated source links. A provider policy remains a provider statement about what it promises, not proof of actual service.
- Provider-stated facts: claims we can attribute but didn't test, like shipping times and clinician credentials.
- Customer-experience signals: individual reviews. They raise questions. They don't prove policy or medical results.
- Our conclusions: judgments like "Taurus provides clearer advertised starting-price components," built only from the facts above.
We don't give providers scores. Being on this page isn't an endorsement. When a company's documents disagreed with each other, we showed both versions instead of picking the friendlier one.

Taurus Meds vs Evolve Telemedicine: what else should you know?
These answers cover remaining questions when choosing between Taurus Meds and Evolve Telemedicine. Prices and policies below refer to the public documents checked on September 28, 2026, not an individual checkout or clinical decision.
Is Taurus Meds cheaper than Evolve Telemedicine?
It can't be proven either way. Taurus's $49 plus twelve $149 payments gives a $1,837 subtotal, not a confirmed complete first-year bill. Evolve's actual TRT total is unknown until quoted, and Taurus's commitment, required care costs and fee scope still need written confirmation. Taurus offer · Terms · Evolve FAQ.
Does Taurus Meds charge a membership fee?
Its $49 sales page says "No membership fees." Its Terms of Service, Section 28, describe a recurring $17.99 fee per billing period "unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase." Ask Taurus to confirm in writing whether it applies to your plan. Taurus offer · Terms, §28.
How much does Evolve Telemedicine cost for TRT?
We found no itemized Evolve TRT quote in the checked pages. Its FAQ says hormone plans start "at around $75 per month," and its other pages give ranges of $50–$100 and $50–$1,000. You'll need a written quote for the annual care plan, labs and medication. FAQ · TRT for Men · Testosterone page · Annual-care terms.
Can I get a refund from Taurus Meds if I'm not approved?
The published policy does not support an unconditional yes. It promises a full refund if the medical provider disqualifies you, but later clauses limit refund scope and say a refund may be issued. Its terms say blood work isn't refundable. Get the applicable refund amount and charge timing in writing. Refund policy · Terms, §8.
Can I get a refund from Evolve Telemedicine?
Evolve's terms say the annual care plan is non-refundable after your first physician consultation, and medication is non-refundable and non-returnable. Ask in writing what happens if you cancel before that first visit. Also ask whether a clinician declining TRT changes those terms. Evolve terms, §33.
Is Taurus or Evolve testosterone FDA-approved?
Evolve describes compounded medication, which is not FDA-approved. Taurus advertises FDA-approved medications generally, but its TRT page includes compounding copy naming another program. Neither a platform name nor the words "testosterone cypionate" settle the approval status of your exact product. Ask for it in writing. Evolve terms · Taurus offer · FDA.
Is Evolve's free consultation a free doctor visit?
No. The free intake call is with Evolve's intake team. The physician consultation is part of the paid annual care plan. Evolve FAQ · Care terms.
Do Taurus Meds or Evolve take insurance?
Evolve says it does not accept insurance and accepts HSA or FSA cards. Taurus advertises a cash-pay path; insurance billing was not confirmed. Card acceptance alone does not determine whether a charge qualifies under your account's rules. Evolve FAQ · Taurus offer.
Which one lets me know who my doctor is?
Evolve publishes a five-person clinician roster; Taurus publishes no roster on the pages we checked. That gives Evolve more public detail, not a guarantee that a particular person will treat you. Ask either provider for the assigned clinician's name and relevant state license. Evolve roster · Taurus service documents.
Can I use my own lab results?
Evolve says outside labs work in most cases if they include the markers its clinicians need. Taurus's pages we checked didn't say. Ask before buying a new test. Ask how the clinician will assess their timing and whether repeat testing is needed. Evolve FAQ.
Can I cancel Taurus Meds anytime?
Taurus's refund policy requires cancellation notice received at least 72 hours before billing; otherwise it says another cycle is charged. That does not establish that the advertised $149 plan has no minimum commitment. Ask when cancellation takes effect under your selected plan and which charges remain due. Refund policy · Provider-issued pricing release.
Does Evolve Telemedicine treat women?
Yes. Evolve offers women's hormone care, including menopause, thyroid and weight management, alongside TRT for men. This comparison's diagnostic and fertility guidance is for adult men, not Evolve's other patient groups. Evolve services.
Will TRT from either company affect my fertility?
It can. Testosterone can lower sperm production, and the AUA/ASRM guideline advises against testosterone alone for men interested in current or future fertility. See a urologist or reproductive urologist before choosing treatment when fertility matters; no provider can promise preservation or recovery on a set schedule. AUA/ASRM guideline.
Do I need an in-person visit for online TRT?
Not always, but an in-person visit can still be required by state law or the clinician. Through December 31, 2026, the federal extension permits certain testosterone prescribing after a qualifying live audio-video encounter without a prior in-person evaluation, subject to its conditions. It does not guarantee the same rules in 2027. Federal rule · HHS guidance.
