Titan Medical Center TRT Alternatives: Who Fits Better, and What the Prices Include

The best Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives depend on why you're leaving. Compare Male Excel for a dedicated-provider membership, Hone for a published confirming-test pathway, TRT Nation for its $99.99 monthly-equivalent base, and local care for insurance or in-person visits. Titan's complete price needs a written quote, so no savings claim is settled.

Best for: adult men comparing Titan's TRT care with another provider. Not for you if: you want a quiz to diagnose low T or a guarantee of a prescription. This comparison does not cover hormone care for women, adolescents, or gender-affirming treatment.

Here's the catch: Titan doesn't publish its monthly TRT price on the pages we checked, so none of these are "cheaper" until you know Titan's number. Below, we show how to find the break-even point from complete quotes. If you want to use insurance, or you're trying to have kids soon, a local specialist is a better first stop than a cash-pay TRT program. 1 2 35 36

Quick picks: the best Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives for each reason to switch

Male Excel, Hone, and TRT Nation publish different parts of the bill; none has a verified complete-cost win against Titan. Use the rows below to match the care arrangement to your reason for switching, then get the missing costs and clinical requirements in writing.

Why do men look for alternatives to Titan Medical Center?

Titan lists a $200 male blood panel, but we found no monthly TRT price or complete telemedicine state list on the public pages reviewed; insurance isn't accepted. None of that means Titan's care is bad. It means the posted lab price alone doesn't let you compare the full cost. 1 2 3

Titan Medical Center is a real clinic at 912 Channelside Dr in Tampa. It offers testosterone therapy in its office or by telemedicine, plus a long menu of other services — IV drips, peptides, weight loss, vitamin shots. 1 4 5

Here's what we found on Titan's own website on October 13, 2026:

  • No posted TRT price on the pages reviewed. The published Male Full Panel Blood Test price is $200. You can get it drawn at Titan's Tampa office or at a lab near you. That panel price does not establish all required starting fees. 2 3
  • No insurance. Titan's About page says plainly that it does not accept insurance. 1
  • "Nationwide" telemedicine, but no verified state list. Titan says it can serve you by telemedicine nationwide. The pages reviewed do not give a state-by-state prescribing list. 2
  • Blood testing, then "Get Diagnosed." Titan's published treatment process moves from blood testing to provider evaluation. It doesn't describe a second, confirming testosterone test; that does not establish how many tests a clinician orders in practice. 2
  • Exact medication unresolved. Titan's homepage says compounded preparations are not FDA-approved in its women's hormone-care section. Its men's TRT page doesn't say which product you'd get. Ask for the actual product and pharmacy; the broader disclaimer does not answer that question. 4 5

We also spotted a typo that matters on Titan's TRT page: it lists the low-T cutoff as "300mg/dl." Testosterone is measured in ng/dL (nanograms per deciliter). It's a small slip, but it's on the exact page that's selling you the treatment. 4 34

What Titan does well, to be fair: you get a real office in Tampa, in-person or virtual visits, a staff you can text or call, and Titan says it follows up with every patient every 28 days. Online-only alternatives can't hand you a front desk. If that matters most to you, keep reading — there's a section on when staying is the smarter move. 1

Want the full Titan price breakdown? Ask for it before buying the panel. Titan's published process starts with contacting a consultant; use the quote worksheet below to collect the missing answers. 2

Which Titan Medical Center alternative fits your situation?

The right switch depends on what bothered you about Titan: the hidden price, the lack of insurance, the diagnosis process, or the location. Match your reason to the option that fixes it. Every option below has someone it's wrong for, and we say who.

Think about the one thing you want to be different next time. Not five things. One.

  • "I want to know what I'll pay." → Look at the cost section. TRT Nation, Hone, and Male Excel post price components. Titan's full treatment price still needs a quote.
  • "I'm not sure I was diagnosed right." → Ask a clinician to review the diagnosis and testing. Hone publishes a confirming-test pathway, but a provider comparison cannot validate your diagnosis. 13 14 34 35
  • "I want the personal touch, without driving downtown." → Male Excel builds its membership around one dedicated provider and unlimited e-visits. 7 8
  • "I want to see someone in person." → Defy Medical has a Tampa clinic. So do local urologists. 31
  • "I want insurance to pay." → Start with your plan's clinician network and covered-drug list. A cash-pay membership and coverage for a separately filled prescription are different questions. 20 46
  • "I want kids." → Start with a fertility-trained urologist, not a TRT program. 34 36

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

Not sure which row is you? Map your care-route questions with Find My TRT Path →

The tool is educational. It does not diagnose low testosterone, decide medical eligibility, or guarantee a prescription.

Titan Medical Center vs. alternatives: what each one tells you before you pay

We checked 11 facts you'd want before paying any TRT clinic. The Titan Gap Map separates published answers from conflicting or missing information; a published "no" still counts as an answer. It compares disclosures, not medical quality.

This is our Titan Gap Map. We built it from each provider's own pages, read on October 13, 2026.

Key: ✓ = a relevant answer is published · ⚠ = published information conflicts or does not settle the exact offer · ? = not established in the reviewed pages. A question mark does not mean the service is absent.

What the map tells you: Titan's $200 lab price leaves much of the treatment bill unanswered. The online options show you more price components up front — but they're not perfect either. Taurus's pages conflict on fees and leave its exact testosterone product unresolved. Ask for the missing answers before paying.

Who fills the prescription? Male Excel's FAQ names Anazao Health and WellDyneRx-FL. Taurus's terms list RedRock, Health Warehouse, Precision Compounding Pharmacy, and Triad Rx. Those disclosures do not tell us which pharmacy will fill your prescription or verify its current authority in your state; ask for that pharmacy and your prescriber's name and professional role. 10 24

Why does a second, confirming testosterone test matter?

The American Urological Association (AUA) says low testosterone should be diagnosed only after two total testosterone tests, taken on different days, both early in the morning. Testosterone levels swing a lot, so one low number can be a fluke. Titan's published process does not describe a confirming second test. 2 34

Total testosterone is all the testosterone in your blood. The AUA uses a total testosterone level below 300 ng/dL as a reasonable cutoff — but only with two early-morning tests and symptoms or signs consistent with testosterone deficiency, not one number on its own. The AUA also says clinicians should check luteinizing hormone (LH) — the brain signal that tells your testes to make testosterone — in men with low T. Titan's $200 panel is broad (it includes PSA, a blood count, and free and total testosterone), but it doesn't list LH. A missing marker in that advertised panel does not establish that a clinician never orders it. The Endocrine Society also calls for repeat morning fasting testing and an evaluation of the cause. 3 34 35

If you've never had a second morning test, that's worth knowing before you pick any provider. Hone builds it in. With the others, ask. More here: Do you need two low testosterone tests for TRT?

Compounded or FDA-approved: what will you actually get?

Compounded testosterone is prepared by a pharmacy for a clinical need. It is not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review the finished preparation for safety, effectiveness, or quality before it is marketed. Male Excel and Hone disclose compounded products, while TRT Nation describes compounding-pharmacy sourcing; Taurus's exact TRT product remains unresolved. 7 19 23 27 37

This matters if you care about getting a specific brand-name or FDA-approved generic product. If that's your priority, ask a clinician about an appropriate FDA-approved product and a pharmacy that can fill it, whether you use insurance or pay cash. Hone also permits requests to send prescriptions to a chosen local pharmacy, but that does not guarantee the product, availability, or coverage. An NDC number alone does not prove FDA approval. 20 37 48

How much do Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives cost in year one?

The published components produce a $2,727 Male Excel injection-and-thyroid starting subtotal, $1,710–$1,715 for Hone Plus before medication, and a $1,586.88 TRT Nation three-panel scenario. Taurus's complete price remains unresolved, and Titan needs a written quote. These are different cost bases, so they do not establish a complete first-year price ranking.

Monthly prices lie by leaving things out. So we separated the published components from the costs that still need a quote.

Our assumptions: 12 monthly price equivalents or 12 paid membership months; no promo codes; the starting-price package named in each row. TRT Nation's example assumes three $129 panels. Your prescription, extra tests, services outside the quoted plan, taxes, and any separate shipping can change the bill. Multi-month purchases and actual days supplied also change how much cash leaves your account in the next 365 days.

Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives table 3: How much do Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives cost in year one?
Option Starting/testing cost used Recurring components used Calculated amount — not a complete quote Source
TRT Nation Assume baseline and two later clinic panels: 3 × $129 = $387 $99.99 × 12 = $1,199.88 $1,586.88 scenario; actual purchases, tests and California pricing may differ 26 27
Taurus Meds $49 test/consult on one offer $149 × 12 = $1,788 on that offer $1,837 advertised arithmetic only; the separate $17.99-per-period terms and included costs are unresolved 22 23 24
Hone Health Plus $45 start + $45 or $50 at-lab confirmation $135 × 12 = $1,620 membership $1,710–$1,715 before medication; the range records conflicting confirmation fees 13 15
Hone Health Premium $65 initial lab + $25 confirmation $155 × 12 = $1,860 membership $1,950 before medication 14
Male Excel: injection with thyroid $99 test/consult bundle 12 × ($99 membership + $120 starting medication bundle) = $2,628 $2,727 starting subtotal, before shipping and other applicable charges 7 9
Defy Medical Billed per service Defy's illustrative male-patient average is under $175/month in year one Under $2,100 annualized provider illustration; not a price cap, independently audited average, or personal quote 29 30
Titan Medical Center Published $200 male panel; other charges need a quote Treatment price and billing cycle not established Not calculable from the public price information reviewed 1 2 3

Calculated October 13, 2026. With Hone Plus's $80 home confirmation, the same membership-and-testing subtotal is $1,745 before medication. Male Excel's cream-and-thyroid bundle starts at $132/month; the equivalent starting subtotal is $2,871 before shipping and other applicable charges. Thyroid treatment is a separate clinical decision, not something every TRT patient needs. 7 13 15

A few honest notes on these numbers:

  • TRT Nation requires a purchase of at least 2.5 months—approximately $250 at the advertised $99.99 monthly rate. The actual order amount and California pricing may differ. If you already have recent labs — including a Titan panel from the last 120 days with the right markers — TRT Nation says it may accept them, which could lower your first lab bill. Ask the clinic to approve the exact panel before assuming it replaces an order. 26 27
  • Male Excel shows two starting prices. Its homepage says testosterone therapy starts at $99/month; its price page shows injections starting at $120/month (bundled with a thyroid medicine and billed every two months). The homepage does not identify the formulation or package behind its $99 starting price, so we do not use that figure as an injectable-treatment quote. 7 8
  • Hone lists the injection as "from $28/mo" on its product page and "$28/vial" in its help center. Those units do not establish a full medication year. Ask for the cost and supply period of your actual prescription; medication stays outside our Hone subtotals. 13 14 19
  • Taurus's homepage advertises a free testosterone test, while its $49 offer page charges $49 for the test and consult. Get the price in writing. Its terms also describe $17.99 per billing period unless otherwise stated at purchase. We could not reconcile that with the offer's no-membership-fee language, and we do not assume that period is a month. 22 23 24
  • An unknown cost is not a zero. Hone says standard shipping is included, and TRT Nation lists shipping and supplies among its base inclusions. Male Excel adds shipping. Extra medication, required tests, or other charges still need an itemized quote. 7 13 14 49

When does staying with Titan cost less? The break-even table

Staying with Titan costs less only when its complete future quote is lower for the same period and care. The partial figures above cannot settle that. Use the table below with written quotes and the actual number of charges.

The formula is: Titan's break-even recurring charge = (the alternative's complete future charges − Titan's costs outside that recurring charge) ÷ the number of Titan charges in the same period.

This assumes the same amount for each Titan recurring charge. Include any unavoidable overlap or exit charges, and subtract confirmed refunds or credits.

Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives table 4: When does staying with Titan cost less? The break-even table
Break-even step What to enter Why it matters
Alternative's complete future cost All charges for the next 12 months, including any purchase that extends beyond them A membership subtotal or per-vial price is not enough
Titan's costs outside its recurring charge Unpaid starting fees, separate labs, medication, supplies, shipping and visits Subtract only costs that are not already included in the recurring quote
Number of Titan charges Count the actual scheduled debits in that same period A monthly price equivalent is not a payment calendar
Break-even charge Subtract the second row from the first, then divide by the third Below this amount, Titan costs less under the matched quotes; at it, they tie

A worked example using the published numbers: assume TRT Nation's $1,586.88 scenario were the complete alternative bill, Titan's only separate cost were an unpaid $200 panel, and Titan charged exactly 12 times. The break-even charge would be ($1,586.88 − $200) ÷ 12 = $115.57. Those assumptions are not verified Titan terms or a complete TRT Nation quote; replace them with your actual figures before deciding. 3 26 27

Why not assume 13 charges? Titan says it follows up every 28 days. That does not tell us when it bills. Thirteen 28-day periods cover 364 days, but billing upfront on day 0 and every 28 days after can put 14 charges inside 365 days. Use the written payment dates, not the contact schedule. 1

Already paid the $200? If it is nonrefundable, leave it out of future costs. Include any confirmed refund or credit in the appropriate option. Also check whether those existing labs reduce the alternative's bill; if both sides change, a fixed $15–$17 monthly adjustment will be wrong.

Ask Titan for these three things in writing: the full treatment price and separate charges, how often it bills, and the exact name of the testosterone product. Then use this table. You'll know which missing answer still changes the decision.

Male Excel: a dedicated-provider membership from home

Male Excel fits the man comparing posted prices, a no-contract membership, and care from home. It advertises a $99 monthly membership for a dedicated provider and unlimited e-visits, plus an injection-and-thyroid bundle from $120 a month. Its testosterone is compounded, and it doesn't take insurance for this program. 7 8

If you picked Titan for the feeling of having your clinic — people who know your name and check in on you — Male Excel advertises features that fit that preference, online.

What Male Excel posts (checked October 13, 2026):

  • $99 to start. That covers an online consultation, an at-home finger-prick blood test (testosterone, estradiol, DHEA-S, free T3, and PSA), and a treatment plan. Male Excel estimates results in about five business days after the lab gets your kit. 9 10
  • $99/month medical membership. Unlimited e-visits with your Male Excel provider, unlimited messaging with the support team, structured 60-day check-ins, and full blood panels every 6 months. 7 8
  • Medication on top. Testosterone therapy "starts at $99 per month" on its homepage; its injection-and-thyroid bundle starts at $120/month on its price page. Medication ships in 60-day supplies, billed every other month. 7 8
  • No contract. Cancel anytime. Male Excel advertises FSA/HSA eligibility; confirm reimbursement rules with your plan. 7
  • Florida is covered. Male Excel lists hormone-treatment access in states other than Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. D.C. is not expressly resolved on that list, and state access does not guarantee a prescription. 8
  • 90-day guarantee. Male Excel says eligible new members can request the initial three months of membership fees back if symptoms do not improve after 90 continuous days following the plan. The request is due within 30 days afterward and is reviewed; participation requirements apply, and documentation may be requested. Medication and other costs are not covered. Read the guarantee terms before you count on it. 12

Here's the honest tradeoff. Male Excel's $2,727 injection-and-thyroid subtotal is $1,140.12 above the $1,586.88 TRT Nation scenario, before the missing costs are resolved. Those are different packages, not a verified savings comparison. If price is your top priority, TRT Nation is worth a closer quote comparison; Hone Health needs its medication bill added first. Male Excel's $99 membership advertises one dedicated provider, unlimited e-visits, and a scheduled check-in every 60 days. For a man leaving Titan because he wants that relationship without the downtown drive, that's the part to decide whether to pay for. 7 8 26 27

Other things you should know before you start:

  • Compounded medication. Male Excel's site says its compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Its own marketing calls its injections "bioidentical." We don't repeat that label, because it doesn't tell you anything about FDA approval or safety. 7 37
  • It may prescribe before your labs come back. Male Excel says its providers can prescribe based on symptoms and history before lab results arrive, when clinically appropriate. Ask what prior records, repeat morning tests, and baseline blood-count results the receiving clinician needs. This statement does not guarantee a refill or uninterrupted treatment; if low T has not been confirmed, get the diagnosis reviewed first. 8 34 35
  • Generally all sales final. Male Excel's terms say purchases and subscription fees aren't refundable unless otherwise stated in writing; the limited membership guarantee is one such exception. The terms also say prescriptions can't be sent to a different pharmacy. 11 12
  • Not TRT: Male Excel's cost page describes Triclozene as a clomiphene-based compound with thyroid ingredients — a different kind of treatment. Confirm the exact prescribed ingredients. See Male Excel Triclozene reviews. 7
  • In-person exam: Male Excel's site notes that DEA and state laws may require an in-person exam for your plan. 7

Skip Male Excel if: you live in one of its 11 excluded states, you need insurance, you want an FDA-approved product, or price beats everything else.

Hone Health: a published confirming-test pathway

Hone Health requires a second, confirming testosterone test when TRT is being considered — a step Titan's public process does not specify. Plus starts at $1,710–$1,715 for the initial tests and 12 membership months, before medication. Hone's advertised injectable testosterone is compounded, and medication is billed separately from the membership. 2 13 15 19

If part of you is wondering whether you were ever diagnosed properly, a clinician's review comes first. Hone is one online option with a published confirming-test pathway.

What Hone posts (Help Center, updated September 2026):

  • Plus plan: $45 at-home starting kit (8 biomarkers) → $45 or $50 at-lab confirmation, or $80 at home, if TRT is being considered → $135/month. The membership page and lab schedule disagree on the at-lab fee; confirm which applies. 13 15
  • Premium plan: $65 starting lab test → $25 confirming test (total testosterone and prolactin) → $155/month, with a broader lab panel. 14
  • What the membership covers: a live video visit with a Hone-affiliated physician (MD or DO), follow-up labs and visits at no extra charge, a support team, and free shipping. 13 14
  • Medication is extra. Testosterone cypionate injection from $28 per vial; compounded cream and troches are listed from $60/month. The prescription determines the actual quantity and price. 13 14
  • Monitoring: the men's TRT schedules list tests at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Later panels follow the plan's schedule; not every biomarker is checked at the same interval, and the clinician may order different monitoring. 15 16
  • States: Plus in 35 states, Premium in 34. Florida is in both. 17
  • Leaving takes two steps. Membership and medication must be canceled separately. You can cancel the membership anytime using its cancellation form; cancellation is effective when you submit it. Membership pauses can last up to three months; partial membership months are not refunded. Medication orders cannot be canceled or refunded once the pharmacy has processed or shipped them. 18

Know this first: Hone's injectable testosterone product page says plainly that it is a compounded product and has not been approved by the FDA. Hone also says it can't guarantee a specific brand or manufacturer. It does allow requests to send a prescription to a chosen local pharmacy. That option still needs the clinician, pharmacy, exact product, and any insurance coverage confirmed. 19 20

Skip Hone if: you want one flat price that includes medication or your state isn't on Hone's list. If a specific FDA-approved product is essential, confirm the exact prescription and local-pharmacy arrangement before paying.

TRT Nation: a low published base price, with prepayment

TRT Nation lists testosterone at $99.99 per monthly equivalent, with a minimum 2.5-month purchase and clinic lab panels at $129 each. Twelve monthly equivalents plus three panels total $1,586.88, but that scenario is not a first-year invoice. Its FAQ describes compounding-pharmacy sourcing and says state access must be confirmed. 26 27

It's here because if your main complaint about Titan is price, you deserve to see a low published base rate and its purchase terms.

What TRT Nation posts (October 13, 2026):

  • $99.99/month for testosterone; $180/month for testosterone plus hCG. Both require a 2.5-month minimum purchase. California pricing may differ. 26

  • Labs: $129 per TRT panel. Required after the first 10 weeks of treatment, again 6 months after your first lab, then once a year. 27

  • Bring your own labs: TRT Nation says it often accepts recent outside labs, typically from the last 120 days, if they include the right markers. Get approval for the actual panel and date before relying on it. 27

  • Medication: sourced from licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies, per its FAQ. 27

  • States: "the majority of U.S. states," checked during intake. 27

  • Age: its FAQ describes TRT applicants as men age 24 or older. Confirm the age policy for the specific program before paying. 27

  • Refills and refunds: refills are patient-requested, not automatic. The cancellation policy reserves no-refund/no-return rights; confirm the paid period and records process before ordering. 28

Skip TRT Nation if: you don't meet its age policy, don't want to prepay at least 2.5 months at a time, or cannot confirm service in your state. If you require a specific FDA-approved product, confirm the exact prescription before paying.

Adding hCG doesn't guarantee your fertility. If kids are on your mind, read the fertility section below first.

Taurus Meds: one flat monthly number, with fine print to check

One Taurus page offers a $49 blood test and consultation, then $149 a month "all inclusive" with no membership fee — $1,837 by that advertised arithmetic. Its terms also describe $17.99 per billing period, and its pages leave the exact testosterone product unresolved. Get the applicable fees, product, and pharmacy in writing before paying. 22 23 24

Taurus's pitch is simplicity: one advertised monthly number. If you hated having to ask Titan for a treatment price, that's appealing — but Taurus's membership-fee and inclusion questions need answers too.

What Taurus posts (October 13, 2026):

  • $49 test + consult (marked down from $129), then $149/month for medication if a clinician approves you. "No membership fees." That offer conflicts with the recurring $17.99-per-billing-period language in §28 of the terms; ask whether it applies to this purchase. 23 24
  • Treatment options listed: testosterone cypionate, enclomiphene, testosterone gel, and an oral sermorelin product. Enclomiphene and sermorelin are not testosterone, and a product card does not establish an appropriate treatment or the exact drug supplied. 23
  • At-home kit at no extra charge if you live more than 50 miles from a LabCorp or Quest. 23
  • Advertised 90-day guarantee: the offer promises a results-based refund minus lab and pharmacy fees. The refund policy disclaims guaranteed results and limits cancellation refunds outside medical disqualification. "Results" isn't defined in the offer; confirm the applicable guarantee in writing before relying on it. 23 25
  • Refund if you're not eligible, according to the offer page. Ask which charges that covers under the refund policy. 23 25
  • Cancellation: you must cancel at least 72 hours before your billing date, or you'll be charged one more cycle. Outside of medical disqualification, Taurus says it doesn't refund canceled subscriptions (refund policy, updated February 28, 2026). 25

Where Taurus's own pages disagree: the homepage says "FREE testosterone test" and "FDA-approved medications." The $49 offer page charges $49 for the test and describes its hormones as compounded. That page also mentions another program's name and lists the testosterone gel as a weekly injection. These look like copy errors, not proof of bad care — but they mean you shouldn't rely on the website alone. We did not establish a complete TRT state list from the reviewed pages. The separate $17.99 fee clause is another reason the $1,837 arithmetic is not a complete quote. 22 23 24

Before paying Taurus: get a clear answer on FDA-approved versus compounded medication, the actual pharmacy, your state, the testing schedule, and all fees. Skip it if: those answers remain unresolved or you need cancellation without watching a 72-hour deadline.

Want to stay in-person near Tampa?

If Titan's office was the draw, your real alternatives are another Tampa men's clinic or a local urologist. Defy Medical runs a clinic at 4809 N. Armenia Ave. in Tampa and publishes an illustrative male-TRT average of under $175 a month in year one, including medication, labs, and consultations. Confirm the specific appointment can be in person. 29 31

It's here because it offers another men's health practice in Tampa, with an office option to compare with Titan.

What Defy posts (October 13, 2026):

  • Tampa clinic: 4809 N. Armenia Ave., Suite 220, Tampa, FL 33603. Open Tuesday–Friday, plus select Saturdays. Local patients can get blood draws and physical exams there. Call to confirm TRT visits in person. 31
  • Cost: no monthly fee and no contracts. You pay per service. Defy's illustrative male-TRT average is under $175/month in year one, including medication, lab work, and consultations. That's a provider illustration, not an independently audited average or a quote; its inclusion of an aromatase inhibitor—a medicine that reduces estrogen production—does not make that medicine necessary for you. 29 30
  • Options: Defy discusses injections, creams, and pellets. Confirm the exact product and whether it is FDA-approved or compounded. 30
  • Mobile phlebotomy: Defy advertises mobile blood draws; confirm availability and any added charge. 33
  • Insurance and exit terms: Defy is self-pay too. Its terms say it does not accept insurance; sales are generally final, with specific lab-order and error exceptions. 32

A local urologist is the other in-person path. Ask about insurance, the physical exam, an appropriate FDA-approved product, appointment timing, and any referral or authorization requirements. We did not measure local wait times or establish what a particular practice will prescribe.

Can I use insurance instead of Titan?

You can investigate insurance through a clinician and pharmacy in your plan's network. Titan, Male Excel's advertised program, and Defy describe self-pay care; a cash-pay membership does not establish whether a separately filled prescription could be covered. Check the diagnosis, product, network, and authorization rules for your own plan. 1 7 20 32 46

Prior authorization means your insurance company has to approve the prescription before it pays.

What to ask your plan about:

  • Symptoms or signs that fit testosterone deficiency, plus appropriate repeat early-morning testing. For example, Aetna's testosterone-cypionate policy names two low morning tests for specified diagnoses; the AUA clinical standard is not itself a guarantee of coverage. 34 46
  • An appropriate product on the plan's drug list. Ask which formulations are covered and whether prior authorization applies.
  • Ongoing monitoring visits and labs.

The tradeoff in one table:

Thinking about kids? Read this before you switch anywhere

Testosterone therapy can lower sperm production, sometimes to zero. The AUA says testosterone should not be prescribed to men who are currently trying to conceive. If kids are in your near future, start with a urologist who treats male fertility — not a TRT program. 34 36

This one's important enough to say plainly. Taking testosterone can suppress LH and FSH — signals from the pituitary gland in the brain that help support testosterone and sperm production. The AUA guideline says:

  • Testosterone therapy should not be prescribed to men who are currently trying to conceive.
  • Men who want children later should be told about testosterone's long-term effect on sperm production before starting. The degree of suppression and recovery varies; no provider or add-on medicine can promise a fertility outcome. 34 36

You'll see other medicines sold as "alternatives" — enclomiphene, clomiphene, hCG. These are not TRT. They work differently, and their FDA status varies: there is no FDA-approved standalone enclomiphene product; clomiphene is approved for certain ovulation problems in women seeking pregnancy, so use for male low testosterone is off-label. FDA-approved hCG products have specific indications, including selected cases where the signals that stimulate the testes are deficient; that is not approval of every fertility-related use or compounded preparation. A specialist should decide whether one fits you. Some TRT programs add hCG to testosterone; that's a treatment choice, not a guarantee your fertility will be protected. 36 38 39 40 45

How do I switch from Titan Medical Center without a gap in treatment?

Ask Titan for your records and lab results in writing, ask the new provider how long its evaluation and dispensing steps take, and let the new clinician decide how to transition you. Cancel any recurring Titan charges as a separate step. Never stop or change your dose on your own.

If you're already on testosterone through Titan, switching involves a new clinical decision as well as paperwork and timing. Here's the order we'd do it in:

  1. Request your records. Ask Titan in writing for your lab results, visit notes, and current prescription. Federal HIPAA access rights generally apply to records held by covered providers, with exceptions; ask for the request process, format, fee, and expected timing. 44
  2. Check what the new provider accepts. Ask if your recent Titan labs count. TRT Nation says it often accepts labs from the last 120 days. Hone publishes an initial-testing pathway; ask whether your existing results can satisfy any requirement. Confirm the exact panel, age limit, and any additional tests with the receiving clinician. 13 14 27
  3. Start early. Ask about intake, repeat testing, appointment, and pharmacy lead times while you still have medication available. Labs and visits take time; no fixed lead time guarantees a gap-free transfer.
  4. Tell the new clinician exactly what you take now — the product name, the form (injection, cream), and the pharmacy it comes from.
  5. Let the new clinician manage the change. They may continue your current plan, change it, or ask for more tests first. That's their call, not yours or ours.
  6. Cancel separately, in writing. If your Titan plan has recurring charges, cancel them separately in writing and keep a copy. If your new provider bills membership and medication separately (like Hone), know that canceling one doesn't cancel the other.

If a refill is already late, contact your current prescriber right away for a plan. Don't stretch doses or stop on your own.

What happens to online TRT after December 31, 2026?

A temporary federal rule allows qualifying DEA-registered practitioners to prescribe controlled medications through telemedicine without a prior in-person evaluation, subject to its conditions. That flexibility runs through December 31, 2026. It does not guarantee that every patient, state, or prescription can use it. 42 43

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance — the government tightly regulates how it's prescribed, and a valid prescription is required. For testosterone under this temporary exception, the encounter must meet the audio-video requirements and other federal and state rules; the limited audio-only exception for certain opioid-use-disorder medicines is not a general testosterone pathway. A questionnaire alone is not that encounter. 41 42 43

What that means for you: if you get TRT by telemedicine from Titan or anyone else — especially from another state — ask your provider now what rules and appointments will apply after December 31. Later requirements depend on the rules then in force. We'll update this page when the rule changes.

When is staying with Titan the better choice?

Staying with Titan can make sense if its complete quote is competitive, a real Tampa office matters to you, and its follow-up fits your needs. The published 28-day follow-up is not a promise of an in-person visit or a billing schedule. Just get the price, billing cycle, and product name in writing first. 1 2

Switching isn't automatically smarter. If Titan quotes you a fair price, you live near Channelside, and you like walking in and talking to a person, those are real advantages online-only care cannot provide.

If that's you, you don't need another provider just because it has a published price. You need Titan's numbers. Use the worksheet above, and call Titan at (727) 389-3220. 1 2

Titan Medical Center TRT alternatives: FAQ

The answers below use the same published prices and limits as the comparison. Your written quote, exact prescription, state, and clinical needs decide which route fits.

What is the best alternative to Titan Medical Center for TRT?

It depends on why you're leaving. Male Excel advertises a dedicated-provider membership with ongoing e-visits. Hone publishes a confirming-test pathway. TRT Nation offers a low published base rate with a minimum purchase. Defy Medical or a local urologist fits if you want to investigate in-person care in Tampa. 7 13 26 31

Is there a cheaper alternative to Titan Medical Center?

There may be, but Titan's complete quote is needed to know. TRT Nation's published components total $1,586.88 in our three-panel scenario; that is not an exact first-year bill. Use the break-even worksheet with complete quotes and actual payment dates. 2 3 26 27

Does Titan Medical Center take insurance?

No. Titan's About page says it does not accept insurance. For insurance, see a primary care doctor, urologist, or endocrinologist in your network and check the product's pharmacy benefits. A cash-pay online membership does not settle whether a separately filled prescription is covered. 1 20 46

Is Titan TRT the same as Titan Medical Center?

No. "Titan TRT" at jointitan.com is run by Keeps, an online TRT company. Titan Medical Center is a separate clinic in Tampa, Florida. 6

Can I use my Titan blood work at a new TRT provider?

Sometimes. TRT Nation says it often accepts outside labs from the last 120 days if they include the right markers. Hone publishes an initial-testing pathway; ask whether your existing results can satisfy any requirement. Ask the new provider before you pay for new labs. 13 14 27

Which Titan alternative requires two testosterone tests?

Hone Health requires a confirming lab test before starting TRT. The AUA recommends two early-morning total testosterone tests on separate days before diagnosing low testosterone. Symptoms or signs and clinical evaluation matter too; the test count alone does not establish a diagnosis. 13 14 34 35

Do any Titan alternatives use FDA-approved testosterone?

Male Excel and Hone disclose compounded testosterone products, and TRT Nation says it uses compounding pharmacies. Taurus's broad homepage language and compounded-hormone offer do not establish the exact product. A local clinician can discuss an appropriate FDA-approved product whether you use insurance or pay cash; Hone also allows local-pharmacy prescription requests, subject to the actual prescription and fulfillment. 7 19 20 23 27 37

Is there an in-person alternative to Titan Medical Center in Tampa?

Yes. Defy Medical has a clinic at 4809 N. Armenia Ave. in Tampa, and local urologists offer in-person care. Call ahead to confirm in-person TRT visits. 31

Will switching TRT providers interrupt my treatment?

A gap is possible, and no lead time guarantees against it. Request your records, ask about intake, tests, appointments and dispensing while you still have supply, and let the new clinician manage the transition. Don't stop or change your dose on your own.

Which Titan alternative covers Florida?

Male Excel and Hone Health both list Florida. We did not establish complete TRT state lists for Taurus or TRT Nation from the reviewed pages; confirm eligibility before paying. Titan and Defy also list Tampa offices; confirm the specific service, clinician and visit type before paying. 1 8 17 27 31

What happens to online TRT after December 31, 2026?

The current temporary extension runs through December 31, 2026, and qualifying telemedicine prescribing remains subject to federal and state conditions. Ask your provider what rules and appointments will apply afterward; an extension is not a guarantee of access for every patient. 42 43

I want to have kids. Which alternative should I use?

None of these TRT programs should be your first stop. The AUA says testosterone shouldn't be prescribed to men currently trying to conceive. See a urologist who treats male fertility first. 34 36
