Talon Wellness TRT Alternatives: Where to Switch and How (2026)

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives fit different needs: Male Excel advertises 60-day check-ins, Hone Plus includes scheduled follow-up labs, and TRT Nation accepts qualifying outside labs. Male Excel's $2,727 subtotal is not a complete first-year bill. For insurance or near-term fertility plans, start with the right clinician, not another cash-pay subscription. 17 18 22 26 30 32

Male Excel's published starting rates are far above Talon's $65-a-month estimate. That's the honest starting point. What you can compare is the extra structure Male Excel advertises: named medical leaders, a state list, separate fees and 60-day check-ins—not proof that replies will be faster. 1 17 18 19

One more thing before you choose. While checking Talon's site for this page, we found something on its men's health menu that changes how a lot of people will see it. It deserves a closer look before you switch, and we'll show you exactly what it is below.

This page is educational information, not medical advice. If you have chest pain or sudden trouble breathing, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Get prompt medical care for new pain or swelling in one leg. 50

Best for: U.S. adult men comparing care for testosterone deficiency. Not for you if: you need urgent help, gender-affirming care, adolescent care, or treatment for athletic performance; those are different care questions.

Quick picks

  • Want published e-visit access and 60-day check-ins? Male Excel
  • Want labs on a schedule? Hone Health Plus
  • Comparing cash-pay quotes? TRT Nation and Nuform Health (neither pays us)
  • Need insurance, an FDA-approved product, or a fertility plan? A clinician and pharmacy that fit that need; often a local doctor, urologist or endocrinologist
  • Refill late right now? Start with the refill checklist

TRT Provider Guide is the independent decision resource for testosterone replacement therapy — helping U.S. adults understand how low testosterone is evaluated, compare online and local care models and providers, and choose the next step that fits their health needs, fertility plans, budget, state, and care preferences, with every material claim verified and dated.

Looking for medicines that raise testosterone instead of TRT, like enclomiphene or hCG? That's a different question. These are not TRT or interchangeable fertility treatments. See low testosterone treatment options. 32 58 59 60

How do the best Talon Wellness TRT alternatives compare?

Talon advertises an estimated $65 a month with labs and consultation included, but the full bill and testing schedule still need a quote. The alternatives publish different combinations of fees, services and state information; none is a verified all-in cost winner. The table below uses each provider's own documents, checked October 14, 2026.

What we actually verified

Date checked: October 14, 2026.

What we read: Talon Wellness's homepage, men's health page, terms, privacy policy and refill form. Each alternative's pricing pages, FAQs, state lists, terms and refund policies. The Federal Register, FDA and DEA sources named on this page. Federal prescription rules at 21 CFR 1306.22 and 1306.25. Endocrine Society guidance and the joint American Urological Association/American Society for Reproductive Medicine fertility guideline.

Confirmed in provider documents: posted prices, state lists, treatment descriptions, refund and cancellation wording, named pharmacies, and the drugs Talon lists on its men's health page. These confirm what the pages say, not that every patient receives the advertised service.

Provider-stated, not tested by us: reply times, how often check-ins actually happen, how smoothly refills ship, and how easy cancelling is.

Couldn't confirm: the clinician assigned to an individual reader, patient-specific state eligibility, exact prescriptions and pharmacy assignments, complete 365-day quotes, or actual reply and shipping times. Talon's testosterone product status and full fee list remain unresolved, as do Taurus Meds' TRT state list and offer-specific terms. Talon's site shows a LegitScript seal; its current certification was not independently confirmed.

What this page is not: a hands-on review. We didn't sign up anywhere, and no clinician reviewed this page.

The right TRT provider is not the same for every person — it depends on whether low testosterone has been properly evaluated, your symptoms and health history, your fertility plans, your state, your insurance or cash-pay preference, your treatment-format preference, your budget, and whether online or in-person care is the better starting point. Some situations belong with primary care, urology, endocrinology, reproductive urology, or urgent or emergency care when the symptoms warrant it. Because a general answer cannot resolve those for you, use TRT Provider Guide's Find My TRT Path tool to map your situation to the right care route and the questions to ask before you pay.

Is your Talon refill late right now? Start here

If your refill is late, find out which step is stuck before you pay a new clinic. A new intake does not resolve Talon's pending order or guarantee medication before you run out. Talon's refill form says requests take one to two business days to process—that's processing time, not delivery time. 5

We get it. Running low on a medication you rely on is stressful. Here's the calm version.

Ask Talon which of these steps your order is on:

  1. Request received. Did Talon get your refill request? Get a confirmation.
  2. Labs on file. Talon's refill form asks for lab work from within the last five months. If yours are older, that may be the hold-up. 5
  3. Clinician review. Has the prescriber approved the refill?
  4. Sent to the pharmacy. Which pharmacy got it, and when?
  5. Filled. Has the pharmacy filled it? You can call the pharmacy directly.
  6. Shipped. Is there a tracking number?

You can reach Talon by text or phone at 725-444-5575, or by email at info@talonwellness.com. Its terms list a second number, 725-296-1117. 1 3

If you've already run out, ask the prescriber what to do. Don't stretch your doses, borrow someone else's medication, or restart on your own later. If you feel unwell in a way that worries you, get medical care.

What one reader reported. Reddit user u/Royal_Dragonfly described being a Talon patient and posted after a delay: "I got all my bloodwork done and paid for my refill." Later, the same person updated the thread to say Talon shipped it about a week after the post (r/Testosterone). That's one person's experience, not proof of a pattern. We include the ending on purpose, because a complaint without its follow-up is misleading.

While today's order is being sorted, the rest of this page will help you decide whether to switch, and what to ask both clinicians to reduce the risk of a gap.

Which Talon alternative fits your reason for leaving?

Match the alternative to the problem that sent you looking. Your reason for leaving may involve one of eight things: reaching someone, knowing who prescribes, what's on the menu, treatment format, lab monitoring, price, insurance or fertility. Each one has a different best answer, and some of those answers don't pay us.

Find your row:

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives table 2: Which Talon alternative fits your reason for leaving?
Your reason for leaving Option to investigate Why The tradeoff
"I couldn't reach anyone" or "my refill was late" Male Excel Its membership advertises e-visits, a dedicated provider, support messaging and a check-in every 60 days Higher published starting rates; actual response times were not tested
"I don't know who my prescriber is" Male Excel or a clinician you can identify and verify It names its Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director Medical leaders are not necessarily your prescriber. Still ask who will be assigned to you
"Talon's menu goes way beyond TRT" A clinician focused on your diagnosis Ask for a plan based on your medical need, with the purpose of each medicine explained Male Excel and Hone also offer treatments beyond testosterone; neither has a TRT-only menu
"I want a cream instead of shots" Male Excel or Hone Plus Talon's men's page lists injections only The creams at both are compounded
"I want lab tests on a schedule" Hone Plus Labs at months 3, 6, 9 and 12 are included in the first year Medication is billed on top
"Price is everything" TRT Nation and Nuform quotes, compared with your Talon bill Both publish medication pricing worth checking Fees, testing and pack sizes differ; no complete cost winner is established
"I want insurance to pay" An in-network clinician and pharmacy These online programs advertise cash-pay care; Hone allows outside-pharmacy filling, where drug coverage may be possible Network, prescription benefits and any prior authorization need separate checks; in-person visits are not always required
"I want kids soon" A urologist or reproductive urologist Testosterone can lower sperm production Fertility evaluation is a different care route, not an add-on guarantee from a TRT program

Why do people look for Talon Wellness alternatives?

Talon's low advertised estimate is visible, but the pages checked leave big questions open: the assigned prescriber, exact product, full bill and confirmation of its all-50-states claim. Its terms rule out refunds once services have been rendered. Its men's health page also lists drugs that are not TRT, including oxandrolone, whose approvals were withdrawn, and ibutamoren, which is not FDA-approved. 1 2 3 7 8 49

What Talon gets right

Let's be fair first. Talon advertises an estimated $65 a month with labs and consultation included. It says labs are required before any prescription, and it says it only prescribes when it's "medically necessary and clinically appropriate." It lists an office in Henderson, Nevada, names three pharmacies, and explains in its privacy policy how to request your records. Its footer shows a LegitScript seal, though we couldn't complete the LegitScript lookup to confirm its status. 1 4

For a man who's already been properly diagnosed and mainly wants low-cost injections, that is a reason to ask for a quote—not a substitute for confirming the clinician, medicine and monitoring plan.

The gaps that send people looking

As of October 14, 2026, Talon's public pages don't tell you:

  • Who would prescribe for you. We found no named doctor or nurse practitioner on the Talon pages checked.
  • Whether its coverage claim applies to your care. The header says "Serving All 50 States," but the pages checked do not establish an assigned clinician's authority for your state and product.
  • What you'll get. It doesn't say whether its testosterone cypionate is an FDA-approved product or a compounded one.
  • The full bill. The $65 is an estimate "based on average prescribed dosage." Labs and consultation are advertised as included, but the covered testing schedule, pack size, shipping and supplies need a complete quote.
  • A refund after completed services. The terms say: "we do not offer refunds once services have been rendered." 1 3

There are smaller loose ends too. The site lists two phone numbers, and its homepage blog cards still show placeholder filler text. The full breakdown is in our Talon Wellness review.

What's on Talon's men's menu besides testosterone?

This is the part we promised up top.

Talon's men's health page shows two different service menus on the same page. The first lists only testosterone cypionate for men. A second, longer menu lists much more. Here's what we found on October 14, 2026:

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives table 3: What's on Talon's men's menu besides testosterone?
Where it's listed on Talon's site What Talon lists
Men's "Hormone Replacement Therapy" Testosterone cypionate, nandrolone decanoate, oxandrolone, stanozolol, T3/T4, HGH (Omnitrope), HCG
Other entries in the expanded service menu Testosterone, nandrolone, oxandrolone, tesamorelin, IGF LR3, HGH, MK-677 (ibutamoren)
Additional service-menu blocks, including the Skin section HGH appears repeatedly
Further expanded-menu entries Dihexa, modafinil
Homepage service tiles "Athletic Performance & Recovery"

The menu entries are provider-published, not a record of prescriptions dispensed. 1 2

Three of those have clear federal facts attached:

  • Oxandrolone. The FDA withdrew approval of Oxandrin and every generic oxandrolone tablet effective June 28, 2023. It later said the drug was withdrawn for reasons of safety or effectiveness (Federal Register, June 2023; Federal Register, September 2023). These were FDA approval withdrawals, not just a discontinued brand.
  • HGH (human growth hormone). Federal law bars distributing HGH for uses the government hasn't authorized. The FDA says no HGH use has been authorized for anti-aging, bodybuilding or athletic enhancement (FDA Import Alert 66-71). Talon lists HGH repeatedly; that does not establish the purpose for which it would prescribe or dispense it.
  • MK-677 (ibutamoren). It is not FDA-approved. 49 The FDA says it poses significant safety risks because it may lead to congestive heart failure in some patients (FDA).

What this does and doesn't mean. A menu listing doesn't prove what Talon actually prescribes. We don't know, and we're not guessing. But a clinic's menu tells you what kind of clinic it wants to be. If you want care that stays inside guideline-based testosterone therapy for diagnosed low testosterone, that's a fair reason to look elsewhere. If you're a current patient, ask Talon what it actually dispenses and who makes it.

Oxandrolone, HGH and ibutamoren are not TRT. We don't give dosing or sourcing information for any of them.

Is Talon still Helix HRT?

Its website still labels its logo "Helix HRT logo," which connects the page's branding to that name. We haven't confirmed the legal history behind the change. If you signed up as a Helix patient, ask Talon which medical practice holds your records, and search both names when you read reviews. 1 4

Is the pharmacy situation settled?

Not fully. Talon lists Partell Pharmacy in Las Vegas first. Nevada's June 2025 board minutes record revocation of Partell Specialty Pharmacy's license effective December 31, 2025; its October 2025 minutes record approval of National Health Rx's ownership change at the same address. 1 34 35

The later record matters too: Oklahoma lists the old Partell nonresident permit as closed on February 2, 2026, and a National Health Rx permit at that address in good standing, issued February 23, 2026. That is an Oklahoma permit—not proof of approval for every state or every compounded product. 36 37

Ask Talon which legal company would fill your prescription today. The records are laid out in our review's pharmacy section.

The honest tradeoff

Male Excel does not compete with Talon's advertised price. Its injection-package subtotal is $2,727 under the 12-payment model, before shipping and any tests outside the advertised plan. That's $1,947—roughly $1,950—above 12 times Talon's $65 estimate, not a verified difference between complete yearly bills. If the lowest bill is your top priority, compare written TRT Nation and Nuform quotes with your actual Talon costs; neither pays us.

Male Excel publishes a named Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director, a 39-state list, a check-in every 60 days, provider e-visits and support-team messaging. If the reason you're reading this is "I couldn't reach anyone," that published access model is worth examining. It is not proof that replies or refills will be faster. 1 17 18 19

Does that trade make sense for you? See Male Excel's current pricing and what the membership includes →

Does Male Excel fit if you want published e-visit access?

Male Excel is worth comparing if you want published provider access and follow-up terms. It names its medical leaders, lists 39 states, advertises a check-in every 60 days, and offers cream as well as injections. Its injection-package subtotal is $2,727 under the 12-payment model, before shipping and any tests outside the advertised plan, and its cream is compounded. 17 18 19

Best for:

  • Men comparing published e-visit access after trouble reaching Talon
  • Men who want a cream instead of shots
  • Men in one of its 39 states

Not for you if:

  • You live in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire or Rhode Island. See your state's options.
  • You want insurance to pay
  • You're trying to have a child soon
  • Choosing your own pharmacy matters to you. Male Excel's terms say prescriptions go only to its contracted pharmacies.

What Male Excel costs

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives table 4: What Male Excel costs
Charge Price What it covers
Start $99 First consultation and an at-home test kit
Membership $99/month Required. Provider access, check-ins and six-month blood testing advertised on its TRT page
Injection package From $120/month equivalent Testosterone injection, a daily thyroid tablet and supplies
Cream package From $132/month equivalent Compounded cream and a daily thyroid tablet
Shipping Extra Not included in the numbers above
Tests outside the advertised plan Complete amount not established Ask which repeat diagnostic or additional safety tests are covered beyond the advertised six-month testing

12-payment subtotal, injections: $99 + (12 × $99) + (12 × $120) = $2,727, before shipping and any tests outside the advertised plan. 12-payment subtotal, cream: $99 + (12 × $99) + (12 × $132) = $2,871, before shipping and any tests outside the advertised plan. 17 19

Two things worth knowing. First, the cost page describes 60-day supplies billed every other month, so ask for your actual charge dates and supply coverage. Six 60-day supplies cover 360 days, not 365. Second, the starting packages include a thyroid tablet. That doesn't mean you need thyroid medicine. Ask whether it's right for you, and whether a testosterone-only quote is available. More detail is in our Male Excel cost breakdown.

Testing and follow-up

You start with an at-home test kit and a consultation. Male Excel's FAQ says a clinician may request repeat testing around six months and one year, and its program advertises a check-in every 60 days. Its TRT page specifically advertises comprehensive blood testing every six months within membership. Ask which markers that includes and whether additional diagnostic testing is covered; a check-in is not a full lab panel every 60 days. 18 19

Its TRT page also uses "based on symptoms" language. Symptoms alone do not establish testosterone deficiency: the diagnosis needs symptoms or signs plus consistently low results and appropriate repeat early-morning testing. Ask how Male Excel confirms that diagnosis and which safety tests are included, especially if you're new to treatment. 18 30 31

Products and pharmacy

Male Excel offers testosterone cypionate injections and a compounded Lipoderm cream. Compounded medicines aren't FDA-approved. Ask which exact injection product you'd get. 11 19

Its FAQ names two pharmacies: Anazao Health and WellDyneRx. Anazao is also on Talon's list, so switching from Talon to Male Excel doesn't automatically change your pharmacy. More on that below. 1 19 20

If you switch from Talon to Male Excel

Bring your original diagnostic results, recent lab reports and prescription history. Its published starting process includes its own test kit; ask whether any existing results can satisfy particular requirements before buying duplicate tests. Its membership includes a conditional guarantee on the first three months of membership fees under its "Excel Advantage" terms. Read those conditions before you rely on it. 19 20

That guarantee covers eligible membership fees—up to $297—not medication, the entry consultation or shipping. Its conditions include completing the first 90 days and making the request within 30 days after that period. The ordinary terms otherwise reserve a final-sale position. The refill FAQ also describes a 48-hour action window after a renewal reminder before billing and shipment, so ask how to cancel a pending refill as well as membership. 19 20

If published e-visit access and 60-day check-ins are worth the higher starting price to you: Read Male Excel's current membership and medication prices → Direct information link. Our commercial relationship is disclosed above; payment or a questionnaire does not guarantee a prescription.

Does Hone Health Plus fit if you want built-in lab monitoring?

Hone Plus fits men comparing a published confirmation-testing process and included follow-up labs. The membership is $135 a month and lists 35 states, but medication is billed on top. That means your full monthly cost isn't known until a clinician prescribes and the applicable confirmation charge is settled. 21 22 23 40

Best for:

  • Men who were frustrated by "periodic" labs with no schedule
  • Men in Hawaii, Idaho or Mississippi, where Male Excel isn't available
  • Men who want cream or a troche (a lozenge that dissolves in your mouth)

Not for you if:

  • You live in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island or South Carolina. Those states aren't on the Plus list.
  • You live in New York. Only Hone's pricier Premium plan is listed there.
  • You want one fixed monthly price

What Hone Plus costs

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives table 5: What Hone Plus costs
Charge Price
Starter at-home test $45
Confirmation test Plus pages list $45 or $50 at a lab, or $80 at home; a general FAQ says medically necessary retesting is free. Get the charge for your plan in writing
Membership $135/month
Medication Extra. Cream is listed at $60/month. Injections start at $28 per vial

12-payment subtotal before confirmation and medication: $45 + (12 × $135) = $1,665. If a listed $45–$80 confirmation charge applies, the subtotal becomes $1,710–$1,745. If confirmation is included under the general FAQ, it stays $1,665 before medication. 21 22 40

With cream at $60 a month, the paid-confirmation illustration is $2,430–$2,465, or $2,385 with no separate confirmation fee. These are 12-payment models, not verified first-365-day invoices. We can't turn the injection price into a monthly number, because how long a vial lasts depends on the prescribed amount and its usable life after opening. Ask the clinician or pharmacy for the quoted supply period. Details are in our Hone TRT cost guide. 21 24

Testing and follow-up

This is where Hone stands out in its public documents. Its Plus schedule describes confirmation testing before treatment and labs at months 3, 6, 9 and 12, adjusted by your clinician. It lists hematocrit and PSA checks at months 6 and 12; do not assume every quarterly draw is the same panel. 22

Your Talon labs may help. Hone accepts qualifying outside results from within 90 days that include its eight required markers. Its policy still requires purchase of the initial lab-and-consultation bundle, even when outside results are used. Ask which existing results it will accept and what confirmation testing remains necessary. 41

Things to watch

  • Two cancellations, not one. Hone's policy treats cancelling your membership and cancelling a pending prescription order as separate steps. Its membership cancellation takes effect when its cancellation form is submitted, although processing may take one to two business days. A processed or shipped medication order may no longer be refundable. Keep both confirmations. 24
  • Products. Hone's cream and troche are compounded, so they aren't FDA-approved. Ask which injection product you'd get. 11 21 44
  • Insurance and pharmacy choice. Hone doesn't bill insurance for its care. It does allow outside-pharmacy filling, where your prescription benefit may apply. You still pay Hone's membership, and Hone says it does not handle insurance prior authorizations. Coverage and the exact product need separate confirmation. 42 43

Want your labs on a schedule instead of "periodically"? Read Hone's plan-by-state availability before paying for a test → Direct information link. Our commercial relationship is disclosed above; a test or membership doesn't guarantee a prescription.

Does TRT Nation fit a cash-pay switch with existing labs?

TRT Nation is worth comparing for cash-pay injections and possible use of your existing labs; its advertised rate is $99.99 a month with a 2.5-month minimum purchase. Its 2026 FAQ lists every state except Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii and Missouri, although its homepage also excludes North Dakota. Labs cost extra, and its testosterone program is for men 24 and older. 25 26 46

Best for:

  • Price-first switchers who already have recent lab results
  • Men in Connecticut, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire or Rhode Island, where Male Excel and Hone Plus aren't listed

Not for you if:

  • You live in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii or Missouri
  • You're under 24
  • You want a cream

What it costs

  • Medication plan: $99.99/month equivalent, sold in 2.5-month blocks. California pricing may differ. 25 26 57
  • Lab panel: $129 each, or bring outside results the clinician accepts. 26 46
  • 12-month rate illustration: (12 × $99.99) + two to three $129 panels = $1,457.88–$1,586.88. This is not a complete quote; the number of tests depends on accepted records and the clinician's plan.

Because you pay in 2.5-month blocks, your real charges come in chunks. Five blocks represent 12.5 plan-months: 5 × 2.5 × $99.99 ≈ $1,250 before labs and invoice rounding. Five purchases plus two or three $129 panels would be about $1,508–$1,637, not the same as 12 monthly equivalents. Ask for actual pack prices and charge dates. 25 26

Its current FAQ describes follow-up labs at about 10 weeks, then six months after that follow-up, then annually. An accepted baseline report can change which tests you pay for, and additional diagnostic or safety testing may be needed. The advertised package also lists anastrozole, which is a separate medicine—not testosterone and not proof that every patient needs it. Ask the clinician what each proposed medicine is for. 25 26 46

Can it use your Talon labs?

Maybe, but get it in writing. Its current general FAQ and new-patient form say outside labs must be within 120 days. Its still-public 2026 FAQ says six months. The form also says it won't take saliva or finger-prick home tests. Ask which rule applies to you before you pay for new labs. 25 26 46

The intake page offers a full refund if you and the clinician decide at consultation that treatment is not for you at that time. Its separate cancellation policy reserves a no-refund position. Ask which terms apply to your payment stage, including any completed labs, before relying on a refund. The cancellation policy says refills must be requested and are not automatic. 26 54

Does Taurus Meds fit after you confirm the offer terms?

Taurus advertises a $49 test-and-consult offer and $149 a month, which produces a $1,837 subtotal for entry plus 12 payments. That is not a complete first-year quote: the commitment, any extra fee, repeat testing, exact product and state availability still need written confirmation. Its campaign and general policies must be read together rather than assuming every difference is a contradiction. 27 28 45

Here's what needs a clear written answer (checked October 14, 2026):

If the $17.99 fee applies every month, the same 12-payment subtotal becomes $2,052.88, or about $2,053. If the previously announced $199 month-to-month price applies instead, $49 + (12 × $199) = $2,437 before any other charges. Neither is a verified current checkout total. 27 28 45

The campaign page also uses wording from Male Excel's program and repeats injection descriptions under other treatment formats. Those are reasons to ask Taurus to identify the correct product and guarantee terms—not evidence that the businesses are connected. 27

Before you pay, ask Taurus to confirm in writing: your monthly total, any minimum commitment, whether a member fee applies, the initial and repeat tests covered, shipping, the exact product, which pharmacy fills it, whether it treats patients in your state, and the refund terms.

If Taurus's written quote and care plan fit after those checks: See Taurus Meds' $49 test-and-consult offer → Direct information link. Our commercial relationship is disclosed above.

Are there other cash-pay Talon alternatives?

Yes: Nuform Health publishes a $170 physician fee as well as medication-kit offers. Its pages disagree about whether that fee is one-time or annual, and medication-only prices do not include the complete testing bill. Ask for the applicable kit, fee renewal and lab charges before comparing it to Talon. 29 38 39

On October 14, 2026, Nuform's TRT page showed two different kit offers: $200 for four months and $295 for five months. Its Why Nuform page lists the physician fee as $170 a year, while its homepage calls $170 a one-time fee; the refund policy also refers to an annual physician fee. 29 38 39

If the four-month offer applies, $170 + (3 × $200) = $770 for the physician-fee and medication components, before labs, any separate consultation charge, shipping or other charges in your quote. Its Why Nuform FAQ lists a basic lab panel from $95, but that does not establish the full required TRT testing schedule. The $770 is not an all-in yearly price; it is enough to rule out calling TRT Nation the verified cheapest option from headline prices alone. 38

Nuform advertises a dedicated care team and four-week check-ins on its Why Nuform page. We did not test that access, establish patient-specific state coverage, or confirm the exact dispensed medication. Its refund policy treats medication purchases as final and sets separate conditions for physician and laboratory fees, so check those before paying. 29 38

Its FAQ also uses the phrase "FDA approved compounding pharmacies." That does not establish FDA approval of a compounded medicine. Ask for the exact product and dispensing pharmacy; compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. 11 38

Nuform doesn't pay us. Low kit prices are worth a look, but only once you have the full fee list. Nuform Health TRT reviews

When is a local doctor the better Talon alternative?

A primary care doctor, urologist or endocrinologist is often the better starting point when insurance, near-term fertility plans or a complex health history drives the decision. Local care can help coordinate that work, but an in-person visit is not what makes a product FDA-approved or a prescription covered. The online programs here advertise cash-pay care; Hone's outside-pharmacy option is a separate way to investigate drug coverage. 11 30 32 42 43

Start with the clinician and pharmacy that fit if:

  • You want insurance to help. Ask your plan about in-network doctors, lab coverage, which testosterone products are covered, and whether prior authorization (insurer approval before it pays) is needed. Start with our list of TRT providers that take insurance.
  • You want an FDA-approved product. FDA-approved means the FDA reviewed it for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality before sale. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved (FDA). See the FDA-approved testosterone products list.
  • You want kids soon. Testosterone therapy can lower sperm production. The joint AUA/ASRM fertility guideline says testosterone alone should not be prescribed for men interested in current or future fertility. Start with a urologist or reproductive urologist. No clinic can promise your fertility will stay the same or come back on a set timeline. Read: Does TRT affect fertility? 30 32
  • Your health history is complicated. A high red blood cell count, prostate concerns, untreated severe sleep apnea, a recent heart attack or stroke, or a history of blood clots all need a clinician who knows your full history. See who should not take TRT. 30

Enclomiphene is not an FDA-approved drug product; its appearance on a compounding evaluation list does not make it approved. FDA-approved hCG products have specific indications—for example, selected cases of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, where signaling from the brain to the testes is deficient. Neither a product listing nor adding another medicine guarantees fertility preservation. 32 58 59 60

Find in-person options with our TRT clinic near me guide, or compare online and local care. For an exact FDA-approved product through Hone, confirm that the clinician will prescribe it and that your pharmacy can fill it; Hone does not guarantee a brand or manufacturer through its usual network. 42 44

Which Talon alternatives serve your state?

Talon claims all 50 states, while Male Excel lists 39 and Hone Plus lists 35. Using TRT Nation's 2026 FAQ, 31 states appear on all three alternatives' lists; TRT Nation's homepage also excludes North Dakota. Alabama, Alaska and Arkansas are on none of these three lists—not a claim that no other online service can treat there. 1 19 23 25

What these published lists show:

  • 31 states appear on the Male Excel, Hone Plus and TRT Nation lists.
  • 42 states appear on either the Male Excel or Hone Plus list.
  • 5 states list only TRT Nation among these three: Connecticut, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
  • Hawaii lists only Hone Plus among these three.
  • New York is listed for Male Excel, TRT Nation, and Hone's Premium plan (not Plus).
  • 3 states appear on none of the three lists: Alabama, Alaska and Arkansas.

From each provider's published state information, checked October 14, 2026. The counts use TRT Nation's 2026 FAQ; its homepage separately excludes North Dakota, so that state is unresolved. A dash means not listed for that plan, not that TRT is illegal there. Taurus Meds had no TRT state list we could verify; Nuform is not included in this state comparison. A provider's list isn't a promise for every patient or every product, so confirm your state at intake. 19 23 25 55

What about the law? Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. That means it has accepted medical uses but some risk of misuse, and you need a valid prescription (DEA). Through December 31, 2026, the current federal extension allows qualifying DEA-registered clinicians to prescribe Schedule II–V medicines by audio-video telemedicine without a prior in-person visit when all applicable conditions are met (DEA).

Your state can still require more, and a clinician can decide an examination is needed. The relevant location is where you are during the visit, not just your mailing address. Ask any new clinic what happens to your care if an in-person visit becomes required. For a deeper look, see the state-access and in-person-care questions in our online versus local TRT guide. 47

What will each Talon alternative really cost in year one?

No complete like-for-like first-year winner is verified here. Male Excel's starting figures produce a $2,727 injection-package subtotal, while Hone, TRT Nation, Taurus and Nuform have different medication, testing or commitment variables. Talon's $65 estimate would be $780 over 12 months, but its included-care details and exact bill still need confirmation.

A monthly ad isn't a yearly bill. So we separated three things: published price components, a 12-payment or monthly-equivalent model, and cash charged over the first 365 days. The last one needs actual invoice dates, whole medication packs and every required test—not a missing fee entered as zero.

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives table 8: What will each Talon alternative really cost in year one?
Option How we did the math Component subtotal—not a complete yearly bill What's not settled by the number
Talon Wellness 12 × $65 estimate $780, if the estimate holds Labs and consultation are advertised as included; confirm covered repeat tests, follow-ups, pack size, shipping and supplies
TRT Nation—rate model (12 × $99.99) + two to three $129 panels $1,457.88–$1,586.88 Illustrative test count; any additional tests; California pricing; actual whole-pack invoices
TRT Nation—five-purchase example About $1,250 for five 2.5-month packs + two to three $129 panels About $1,508–$1,637 Assumes five purchases; pack rounding, invoice dates and required tests need a quote
Hone Plus $45 + (12 × $135), then the applicable confirmation charge $1,665 before confirmation and medication; $1,710–$1,745 with a $45–$80 confirmation fee Whether confirmation is included; medication; actual billing dates. With 12 cream payments: $2,385 if confirmation is included, or $2,430–$2,465 if paid
Taurus Meds $49 + (12 × $149) $1,837; $2,052.88 if an additional $17.99 applies to each of 12 payments Current commitment, fee waiver, follow-up testing and shipping. A previously announced $199 monthly option would produce $2,437 before extras
Male Excel — injection $99 + (12 × $99) + (12 × $120) $2,727 Shipping, any testing outside the advertised plan, prescription changes and 365-day supply/invoice coverage. Package includes a thyroid tablet
Male Excel — cream $99 + (12 × $99) + (12 × $132) $2,871 Same open costs and dates as above; thyroid tablet included. Cream is compounded
Nuform Health—four-month-kit example $170 physician fee + (3 × $200) $770 before labs and other quoted charges Which kit applies; separate lab/consultation charges; shipping; whether the physician fee renews
Local doctor + insurance Your plan Varies Copays, deductible, visit and lab costs

What this table shows that no single provider page will tell you:

  1. A low headline is not a complete bill. Talon advertises included labs and consultation, Nuform separates a physician fee, and the other programs bundle different services. Compare written quotes for the same care needs—not the order of these subtotals.
  2. Membership isn't medication. Hone's $135 doesn't include your testosterone. Male Excel's $99 doesn't either.
  3. "Per month" isn't how you're charged. TRT Nation bills in 2.5-month blocks, and Male Excel ships 60-day supplies. Ask for the real charge dates.

The figures and exclusions above come from the cited provider documents; the calculations are ours. 1 17 18 21 22 24 25 26 27 28 29 38 39 40 45 46

Will switching from Talon change your pharmacy or your medicine?

Not necessarily. Talon and Male Excel both list Anazao Health as a pharmacy, so switching between them may not change who fills your prescription. If changing pharmacies is part of why you're leaving, ask the new clinic which pharmacy would fill yours before you pay. 1 19 20

The pharmacies each clinic names:

Talon Wellness TRT alternatives table 10: Will switching from Talon change your pharmacy or your medicine?
Clinic Pharmacies it publicly names
Talon Wellness Partell (Las Vegas), Anazao Health (Tampa), Striker (Katy, Texas). The Partell listing needs the successor-company check explained above
Male Excel Anazao Health, WellDyneRx
Hone Health Network assignment depends on product and state; an outside-pharmacy option is available under its stated policy
TRT Nation Compounding pharmacies, not named for your order
Taurus Meds Terms name Red Rock Pharmacy, HealthWarehouse, Precision Compounding Pharmacy and Triad Rx; ask which would fill your exact prescription
Nuform Health Exact patient-specific dispensing pharmacy not established in this audit; request it before paying

These are published names and policies, not confirmed pharmacy assignments or a full licensing audit. 1 19 20 28 29 42 44 46

The words on your label matter too. "Testosterone cypionate" is the name of the ingredient, not proof of which product you get. FDA-approved products exist, while some providers describe compounded preparations. 48 Compounded drugs aren't FDA-approved, and a pharmacy badge or an ingredient name doesn't change that (FDA). Compounded doesn't automatically mean bad. But you deserve to know which one you're getting.

Ask any new clinic:

  • "Which pharmacy will fill my prescription?"
  • "Is my testosterone an FDA-approved product or compounded?"
  • "What name will be on the label?"

When does staying with Talon make sense?

If your only problem was one late refill, and Talon now answers your questions in writing, staying may avoid unnecessary switching costs. A switch can mean a new start fee, new tests and new paperwork, but accepted outside records can reduce duplication. A clear answer from Talon could solve the problem for less.

Before you leave, send Talon these four questions:

  1. Who is my prescriber, and where are they licensed?
  2. Is my testosterone FDA-approved or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it?
  3. What's my full cost for the next 12 months, including labs and shipping?
  4. How do I reach someone if a refill is late again?

If the answers are clear and you're comfortable with them, staying is a reasonable choice. If you get silence or vague replies, that answers the question too.

How do you switch from Talon while reducing the risk of a gap?

Request your Talon records and ask the receiving clinic for its actual testing, appointment and pharmacy timeline before treating the switch as settled. The new clinician must agree to take over care and decide what to prescribe; opening an account does not transfer that responsibility. Ask both clinicians to coordinate the handoff, because no fixed three- or four-week window guarantees uninterrupted care.

The clinician-led switching plan

  1. Count what you have left. Note your last dose date and how much medication remains. Don't change your dose to stretch it. If you're worried, talk to your current prescriber.
  2. Ask Talon for your records in writing. Talon's privacy policy says to send a written request to its Privacy Officer, and a reasonable copying fee may apply. Ask for your lab results, prescription history and visit notes. Email info@talonwellness.com to request the record-release process; ask how to send any sensitive documents securely. 4
  3. Pick your alternative and confirm your state. Use the reason-for-leaving table and the state table.
  4. Get the new clinic's timeline in writing. Ask whether it will accept your original diagnosis records and recent labs, which tests remain necessary, and when a clinician can review them. Do not assume new testing is required or waived. 26 41 46
  5. Tell the new clinician everything. Include your current dose, product, pharmacy, and any other medicines Talon prescribed.
  6. Coordinate the care handoff and billing cancellation separately. Ask both clinicians who is responsible for prescriptions and monitoring, and have the clinics identify pending orders and cancellation cutoffs. Confirm Talon's cancellation in writing and keep the reply; do not arrange overlapping prescriptions or shipments as a backup. Texting STOP only ends Talon's text messages, not your care or billing. 3 24

Will my Talon prescription transfer?

Not automatically with your medical records or new account. A new clinic's clinician has to do their own evaluation and decide whether to prescribe. A pharmacy-to-pharmacy transfer of an existing prescription is a different process.

Two federal rules also matter here:

  • Six months, five refills. A Schedule III prescription can't be filled or refilled more than six months after it was written, or refilled more than five times (21 CFR 1306.22). Unused refills do not extend that federal filling deadline, and stricter applicable rules can still matter.
  • Pharmacy refill transfers have limits. Federal rules generally allow a one-time transfer of Schedule III–V refill information, but pharmacies sharing a real-time online database may transfer up to the legally allowed refills. State law must allow the transfer too (21 CFR 1306.25). This is about moving between pharmacies, not between clinics.

Can a new clinic use your Talon labs?

Maybe. It's the new clinician's call. TRT Nation's current general FAQ and intake use 120 days, while its 2026 FAQ says six months. Hone has a 90-day outside-lab policy with required markers and still requires its entry bundle; Male Excel advertises its own starter kit. Bring your results either way, because they help the new clinician see your history. 19 25 26 41 46

Do you need two blood tests again?

The receiving clinician decides which existing records are adequate and what testing is still needed. For a first diagnosis, the Endocrine Society calls for compatible symptoms or signs, consistently low results measured with accurate tests, and repeat early-morning fasting total testosterone measurements. Its July 2026 statement specifies at least two early-morning fasting tests. 30 31

If you're already on testosterone, today's levels won't show your untreated starting point. That's why your original diagnosis records matter. Do not stop or change treatment yourself to recreate a baseline result; that is a clinician decision. More: Do you need two low testosterone tests for TRT?

Check your new prescriber

Ask the new clinic for your prescriber's full name. Then look them up with the appropriate medical or nursing board for the state where you will be during care. 47 Here's how to verify a TRT provider's license.

Still deciding which care route should receive your records? Use Find My TRT Path to map your next care questions → Educational, not diagnostic. Your clinicians—not this tool—must plan any medication handoff.

What should a safe TRT switch look like, wherever you go?

A careful clinic confirms your diagnosis, checks safety markers before treating, asks about your fertility plans, and tests on a schedule. If a new clinic skips these, keep looking. A low price or a fast approval is no substitute. 30 31 32

A good clinic will:

  • Confirm the diagnosis. Symptoms or signs, plus consistently low results confirmed with repeat early-morning tests (Endocrine Society). One number or a quiz isn't a diagnosis, and no single cutoff fits every lab or every man.
  • Check hematocrit. That's the share of your blood made of red blood cells. Testosterone can raise it. 30 31
  • Discuss prostate checks. PSA (prostate-specific antigen) is a blood test used in prostate assessment. The plan should reflect your age, risk, previous results and discussion with the clinician. 30
  • Ask about kids before starting. Testosterone can lower sperm production. Plans for a family change the care route. 30 32
  • Check blood pressure. In 2025, the FDA required class-wide labeling changes about increased blood pressure (FDA).
  • Keep testing. Your testosterone level, hematocrit and other markers should be checked on a schedule during treatment. Ask the clinician which tests are due and who will review the results; provider check-ins are not a substitute for the agreed laboratory plan. 30 31

FDA requested further testosterone-label changes in June 2026. That is a reason to check the current label for the exact prescribed product—not to assume that every warning or indication was changed on every product at once. 48

We can't read your labs or tell you whether you need testosterone. Your clinician can.

How did we research this page?

We read the public pages of Talon Wellness and each alternative on October 14, 2026. We separated price components from whole-invoice examples, matched the three published state lists, and checked medical and legal claims against official sources and clinical guidelines. We didn't become patients anywhere.

What we did:

  1. Read Talon's homepage, men's health page, terms, privacy policy and refill form, and recorded both of its service menus.
  2. Read available pricing pages, FAQs, state information, terms and refund policies for each alternative; unanswered items remain stated as unanswered.
  3. Recalculated the published-price subtotals and separated 12-payment models from whole-pack purchases. We showed the math and listed what each number leaves out.
  4. Matched Male Excel, Hone Plus and TRT Nation's published state information into one 50-state table, with a separate District of Columbia row and an explicit North Dakota conflict.
  5. Checked drug and prescription rules against the Federal Register, the FDA, the DEA and the federal code.
  6. Checked medical claims against the Endocrine Society and the joint AUA/ASRM male-infertility guideline; checked the Partell/National Health Rx history against state pharmacy-board records.
  7. Used Reddit posts only as signs of patient experience, never as proof of medical facts or current policy.
  8. Labeled each fact as verified, provider-stated, customer-reported or our own editorial judgment.

Our full process is How We Review TRT Providers. We don't give providers made-up scores. Our editorial standards explain how we handle sources. Found something out of date? Tell us here.

Check the date before acting. Prices, state lists, pharmacy assignments and terms can change after this review. The current federal telemedicine extension ends on December 31, 2026; ask the clinic how it will handle the rules in force when your next prescription is due. 14

What else should you know about Talon Wellness alternatives?

Changing clinics does not automatically resolve a refill, a fee or a clinical concern. These answers cover the remaining transfer, product and care-route questions; the quoted terms and your clinician's plan still govern.

What is the best alternative to Talon Wellness?

It depends on why you're leaving. Male Excel publishes e-visit access and 60-day check-ins; Hone Health Plus publishes included follow-up labs. TRT Nation and Nuform are useful cash-pay quotes to compare, but no complete cost winner is verified here. Insurance, an exact FDA-approved product or fertility plans can point to a different clinician-and-pharmacy care route. 17 18 22 25 29 32 38 42

Is there a TRT clinic as cheap as Talon Wellness?

No like-for-like answer is established. Talon's $65 estimate advertises labs and consultation included; Nuform's low kit prices sit beside a $170 physician fee and separate testing questions. Compare complete written quotes rather than treating any component subtotal as the lowest full bill. 1 29 38 39

Can I transfer my Talon prescription to another clinic?

A new clinic does not automatically take over your prescription by receiving records. Its clinician must evaluate you and decide what to prescribe. Pharmacy refill transfers are a separate process: federal rules generally allow one transfer, with an exception for pharmacies sharing a real-time online database, and Schedule III fills/refills are limited to six months from issue and five refills. 15 16

Can I use my Talon labs at a new clinic?

Maybe. TRT Nation's current general FAQ and intake use 120 days, while its 2026 FAQ says six months. Hone accepts qualifying 90-day results with its required markers but still charges for the entry bundle. Male Excel advertises its own starter kit. Bring your results either way and get acceptance before buying duplicate tests. 19 25 26 41 46

How do I get my medical records from Talon?

Send a written request to Talon's Privacy Officer, as its privacy policy describes. Ask for lab results, prescription history and visit notes. Talon may charge a reasonable copying fee. 4

How do I cancel Talon Wellness?

Cancel in writing and keep the reply. Talon's terms say there are no refunds once services have been rendered, and appointments need 24 hours' notice to cancel. Texting STOP only ends text messages. Ask separately which recurring charges and pending medication orders will stop. 3

Is Talon Wellness the same as Helix HRT?

Talon's website still labels its logo "Helix HRT logo." That is evidence of shared page branding, not confirmation that the medical practice or legal company is unchanged. We haven't confirmed the legal history behind the change. 1

Is Talon Wellness legit?

Talon publishes a Henderson, Nevada address, terms, a privacy policy, three named pharmacies and a labs-first rule. Those facts do not independently verify its clinical care. Ask for your prescriber's name, state authority, exact medicine and current dispensing pharmacy before paying. Our Talon Wellness review has the full breakdown. 1 3 4 34 35 36

Does Talon Wellness prescribe HGH or anabolic steroids?

Its men's health page lists HGH, oxandrolone, nandrolone and stanozolol. We don't know what Talon actually dispenses, so ask. None of these are testosterone replacement therapy. 2 7 8 9

Which Talon alternative takes insurance?

These programs advertise cash-pay care. Start with an in-network primary care doctor, urologist or endocrinologist when covered visits and tests are the priority; suitable visits may be in person or remote. Hone also allows outside-pharmacy prescriptions, where drug coverage may be possible, but it does not handle prior authorization. 42 43

Which Talon alternative offers testosterone cream?

Male Excel and Hone Health both offer cream. Both creams are compounded, so they aren't FDA-approved. 11 19 21

Which Talon alternatives serve my state?

Check the state table. Thirty-one states appear on all three published lists. Alabama, Alaska and Arkansas appear on none of these three lists; that is not a finding about every other online service. Confirm the exact plan and the state where you will be during care. 19 23 25 47

Will switching from Talon change my pharmacy?

Not necessarily. Talon and Male Excel both list Anazao Health. Ask the new clinic which pharmacy will fill your prescription. 1 19

It can be, with a valid prescription from a properly authorized clinician and all applicable conditions met. Testosterone is Schedule III. The current federal extension allows qualifying audio-video prescribing without a prior in-person visit through December 31, 2026; state law and the clinician's assessment may still require an examination. 13 14 47

What if I want kids?

Discuss current or future fertility plans with a urologist or reproductive urologist before making a TRT decision. Testosterone can lower sperm production, and no clinic can promise how your fertility will respond. Do not change existing treatment on your own while arranging that discussion. 30 32
